Nothing else to say apart from Rubbish!!..Waited 2hrs for a Steak and it was drier than the Sahara Desert and rather than wait for another steak as I.m Diabetic opted for the Jacket potato which if thrown at a Wall would of put holes in it!!..Sister in laws meal of Chicken was even worse!!.. did complain but no refund offered..the Staff were nice enough but their Uniforms were grubby and overall NOT a place for food!!👎👎👎👎

We was driving round looking for a place to sit and eat, just relax on a Sunday afternoon and happened to come across Gamston Lock. What can i say? It was a good choice we decided to go in. Super staff. Informative and polite. Beautiful setting, clean, modern and open spaces. Little play area for children. Relaxed atmosphere. Food was gorgeous. We had the mixed roast and it was spot on and even stayed for pudding. Apple and pear crumble with custard. It was crunchy and sweet. Perfect. Would definitely come here again. Thank you everyone for a lovely Sunday afternoon.

Service was excellent but the food was dry and recycled. My potatoes were atleast day old, the vegetables where microwave defrosted and not properly. Salmon was over cooked and tasted like paper. The Rotisserie chicken was so so dry. I would recommend this place for drinks but not food. Very disappointing.

Marston's hotels are similar to premiere inns. Comfortable with all mod cons. The difference is that Marston's have proper twin rooms with twin beds not just a double bed and a put you up. The Gamston lock pub team are fantastic; polite, friendly and helpful. Reception for hotel is in the pub itself as the pub team look after the hotel as well. Had a lovely 2 day visit. Big thank you to Thomas, Andy and Tracy who made us very welcome. There is a great pub quiz on Wednesday nights which was good fun and different to the usual pub quizzes. Would definitely recommend and would stay there again.

All seven of us could not fault the service provided by your waitress who served us from the moment we arrived and showed us to our table. Just the right balance between being helpful and intrusive, the lack of over loud piped music so you could have a conversations was a bonus. The quantity and quality of food was excellent, well cooked and hot, the only criticism levelled was minimal toasted bread accompanying the pate starters as extra had to be ordered. Over all we considered the festive menu to be good value for money, and a good night was had by all

Lovely location & the set up in the main restaurant is spot in. Lovely decor with tables that are nicely spaced so that you don't feel like you're on top of other guests. Extensive menu with great offers plus a good selection of drinks. Will definitely be going back & would definitely recommend

As a regular customer, I continue to be impressed by the exceptional quality of this establishment. The staff are always friendly and attentive, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that keeps me coming back. The food consistently exceeds my expectations; each dish is a perfect blend of flavours, showcasing the skill and dedication of the chefs. The cleanliness of the place is also worth noting - it's clear that they take pride in maintaining a spotless environment. Overall, I can't recommend this place enough. Whether you're a regular like me or a first-time visitor, you're sure to have a fantastic experience. Keep up the excellent work!

I booked a table for New Year's Day for my family. The staff were very attentive and helpful. Food was delicious and really enjoyed my time. The manager gave excellent customer service. They had run out or a particular drink I ordered and she made every effort to provide an alternative.

We had 40 seats booked for a surprise 40th birthday gathering. Half the party were dining and the rest arrived a bit later for drinks. It was perfect. They reserved an area for us which worked great. The food was brilliant and reasonably priced. The staff were really accommodating and friendly. Helped with all our queries and were flexible with plans. We ended staying longer than anticipated and ordered more food later. Everyone had a lovely time. It was the perfect setting with a great relaxed vibe. Plus our kids had fun playing outside on the little park which was a real plus.

Popped in for tea & breakfast as my accommodation didn't have catering facilities. Due to the hot weather we ened up staying over in one of your rooms as there was a cancellation. Thank you team & especially a call out to Tracey at breakfast service 😊

Took my daughters to the gamston lock for a Christmas treat, booked a table online which was very easy. Service was great especially from Tracey and Ellie. Food was great too, especially the sweet potato and chickpea curry. Definitely would go again!

Slow service waiting to be seated as the guy working was dealing with hotel customers and three other staff members walked past us and not one of them offered to seat us we was waiting for around a good 10 minutes and we had a table booked. The food was lovely and fresh however and the servers were lovely and friendly.

We were looking for a last minute venue following a cancellation elsewhere and your venue was suggested. Luckily you were able to accommodate us at such such notice (night before!). We were welcomed by a friendly face who showed us to ours seats and despite our table taking ages to decide what they wished to ordered (too busy chatting) the waitress was very patient and politely returned a few times. The menu was not too extensive but had a good choice of 'pub grub' not that our personal choices varied much!! Nice and easy for the waitress 😁 We were accommodate by smiling faces all evening and one gentleman waiter joined in freely with the banter on the table. The food was good portions. Good evening all round

After a short wait at the entrance, we had a lot of tables to choose from - without booking (we did go at 12.30pm). Very good value 2-course lunch menu. The main arrived really quickly, was fresh and tasty...and the pud was also good. Friendly staff too..... All in all, excellent for meeting a friend for lunch without the bother of booking.

Really enjoyable stay here during a visit to Nottingham. Room rates very reasonable and the room was really lovely and comfortable. We had breakfast there and it was reasonably priced and delicious. Would certainly stay here again and recommend.

Loved staying here! The staff and the room was very good! The bathrooms and bed was clean! Could do with some updated bathroom maybe? Also we did find it difficult to get an uber but I think it was because of the dates we were there! (Last weekend before Christmas)

A wide variety of food choices to cater for all. I had a steak pie and it was lovely, along with plenty of veg to go with it. There were kids meals for the young ones and the price was very good considering the quality of food! The staff were friendly and offered crayons and a colouring sheet for young ones. The reason I rated 4 star was annoyingly they had ran out of beef for a Sunday Roast! Would recommend to all and will definitely return.

An out of the way location a bit difficult to find in the dark with roundabout works going on. Reception is a podium just inside the front door of the pub. Key card issued; needed for access to rooms 100 yards away from pub. Two disabled parking only. No lift so request a downstairs room when booking. Best hot water for good pressure shower enjoyed from many other hotel visits. Rooms are large enough and could do with a easy chair to watch TV in

A really enjoyable experience. We arrived at the hotel at 11.30am well before check in as we had a nearby wedding so I asked at reception if they had a room we could just get changed in. This was found for us. We left our bags and headed to the wedding and our bags were moved into our room ready for when we got back late at night. Nothing was too much trouble. A chap who may have been Terry the Manager (not sure) came over and we chatted about the hotel. Really nice guy. Room was spacious, warm, amazing mattress. Breakfast next morning was also good and 2 ladies in breakfast room were very helpful.

The table we were given was poor. Waitresses were going to and fro from the kitchen very off putting while we were eating. This is mainly why I have given 3 stars. The service was very good, very efficient and quick. The Sunday Roast was good value

Using Gamston Lock on our trip to Yorkshire from Southampton in our EV as stop off for 2 nights, easily located with plenty of off road parking, comfortable hotel with generous room size large wall mounted 40" TV, bathroom shower and toilet, plenty of sockets with USB outlets tea & coffee making clothes storage and large comfortable double bed. Located next to modern friendly public house an restaurant with reasonably priced food highly recommended....lost a star for no EV charging points this is now a necessity if we're going all electric all that is need is 3-6 x 7.2Kw chargers either free or for a nominal fee as this will top up most EVs prior to onward trip, please note there are rapid chargers close by.....see Zap Map.

Food was fantastic, put the service was shocking, we had a meal booked for 5.30 and we were one of the lucky ones that got their food quite quickly, we saw food put on empty tables, mains coming out before starters, drinks orders not arriving at all, we saw people leaving because they had waited so long to be served, after we finished out meal, we waited an hour before i finally decided to go to the bar to order a desert, which took half hour to arrive, and only then did our empty plates from out main meal get taken away. Real shame about the service, the food was lovely!

Positive: very clean, well-maintained, great polite service in the bar. Negative: Average food for both dinner and breakfast, plus limited supplies provided in the room - small quantities of toilet paper, coffee & tea, plus the bathroom shower gel/shampoo ran out after 1 night.

The room was clean and relatively quiet with free parking. Picking up the keys from the restaurant which is a separate building was unusual and meant that you had to go outside to get a meal. Overall a simple, easy and clean place to stay.

Lovely clean room. Staff lovely. Would have been nice to have more tea and coffee sachets and biscuits. No soap in sink soap dispenser but otherwise had a lovely stay. Would definitely come again and recommend to others.

Food, room, staff ...... all fantastic. The staff are so helpful and friendly. The room was spotless and the bed and pillows were so comfy. Evening meal and breakfast was amazing. We had a 30% off voucher which was a nice treat. Thank you!

Not been here for a while but went for a meal yesterday and was more then pleased with everything. I had a sirloin steak with bourbon glaze, absolutely amazing, plenty of food and top quality. Wife had chicken and beef with vegetables and she loved it. Visit was made special by the customer service, never got the guys name but had a beard, worked behind the bar and hotel check in desk. He was really friendly and welcoming, will be going back again very soon. Thank you for the hospitality

We stayed over for a couple of days. The room was very, very clean, beds comfortable and a lovely shower. The staff that we spoke to were polite and cheery. The breakfast was lovely choosing cooked breakfast one day and continental the next. A 15 minute bus ride took us into the town centre, perfect. Hopefully we will come back and visit again.

😠 Food is absolutely awful. Four of us went last week and all had the Mixed Grill. Sausages were unmistakably reheated from Iceland. Chicken had no texture or taste that would make you think it was actually Chicken. Steak was tasteless bit of leather and one of them was almost completely uncooked. Gam...
