Nice restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. We turned up about 12pm on a Sunday without reservation and managed to get a table but it was a bar table so had no table service but wasn't too bad. It got very busy at about 12:30pm. So careful going without a reservation The staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was nice. The only downside was the Sunday roasts say they come with the sauces but they don't, so didn't get any apple for the pork or horseradish for the beef. All in all, a very nice meal.

We visited on 28/12 with our Papa. He recently lost his wife (our Nana) so taking him out for lunch was something we wanted to be lovely and relaxing for him. We had Shelley as our waitress and she was nothing but kind, helpful and chatty! A lovely host & definitely made our lunch that much more enjoyable. Everything was delicious and our Papa loved every minute.

First visit, Saturday evening and absolutely delicious food - the mixed game grill and venison shin were fantastic. The only thing that let the evening down was the service - staff hanging around leaving empty plates and glasses until asked by customers to collect them, chap who greeted us on arrival was disinterested and flat, asked for the bill and the young lady almost threw it on the table, then never came back so we had to pay at the bar. Such a shame, many young staff not being led or instructed by an experienced manager. Please encourage a bitmof attentiveness and we'd be back every weekend! 😊

It is a nice place for some breakfast, has nice view, good service and pleasant interior. Food was okay, my smoked salmon and egg was a little too plain, sour cream seemed like had no dill, i couldn't taste it or see it in the sauce and it just felt like whole dish is missing some seasoning. My friends pancakes were nice! Both dishes looked appealing and latte was okay too.

Lovely pub with great food and great views! Very dog friendly too and even do a doggie menu! (They got in there first!) Try the pulled lamb starter, and fillet with lobster tail from the specials - you won't regret it!

Easy to book online. Warm welcome, friendly serving staff and great choice of food and drinks. Service was great with drinks and food arriving quickly after ordering. Nothing was too much trouble and easy to pay the bill at the end of the meal. Good COVID19 processes in place and clean toilets. Really nice atmosphere and lovely place to dine out.

Went here for a Sunday roast today and I've got to say... it's the best pub roast I've ever had! Brilliant portions and the food was amazing. The service was also excellent along with the times of everything such as being seated, having our order taken and to the food coming out. Really good selection on the menu also caters to vegetarians as there was one in our party. The prices were really good as well and I highly recommend this pub to anyone especially for a Sunday roast. Adequate parking outside as well so no need to worry about parking.

Pretty good food, better than most pub food I've had. It was very busy when we arrived but after a short wait a table was provided, which was appreciated, booking is advised, we got lucky! The staff were all friendly and professional. I'll definitely visit again soon, a real gem on my doorstep.

We have eaten here for many years on & off & I feel I have had to leave a review today. We visited on a Saturday afternoon. Granted the pub was busy but not over busy. Upon arrival we waited 15 minute for the table to be cleared. Which was not a problem. The food as always was delicious & served hot. We had burger, fish & chips, beef cheeks & smothered chicken. However the staff & service was awful. Usually if there is a bad review I tend not to leave one but on this occasion I feel the staff maybe need some training in hospitality. The young barmaid was rude had a very sour face & when asked for salt & pepper she slammed the till shut & banged around after arguing that it was on the table. The table was slow to be cleared & wasnt until the dessert was served. All in all the amazing food was overshadowed by the poor manners & service of staff. Which has been mentioned in a few reviews over the past few months. A shame as it is letting a good pub down.

Went on a Friday evening for a date night, the chef specials are amazing, definitely the best meal I’ve had here but they never disappoint, speedy service and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. A regular favourite for me and my partner😊

Found this place through a Google search, as we wanted to meet some friends halfway between Nottingham and Lowdham. It seriously didn’t disappoint, great customer service from the moment we walked in, beautifully laid out pub with great decor and one hell of a menu too. The food was absolutely delicious, I tried a bit of everything and was well impressed. This is what great English pub food is all about, and I sometimes feel this country doesn't get credit for the food it's actually good at serving. 5 star food and service all day evey day and would definitely eat here again if we are in the area. Thanks again to staff on the day 😁

Amazing dog friendly place. Easily booked a table with short notice on a Sunday for Dinner. Was busy but not too busy, the service is quick and friendly, the food is always very high quality.

It's ok. Noting to write home about. Interior is nice, decent sized car park. Went for Sunday dinner with 9 adults and 3 young children. One meal incorrect and was sorted. 3-4 meals came out cold and were warmed up. Puddings were ok. Money was knocked off the bill and the incorrect meal had no charge (without asking for it, manager certainly knows to keep people happy) I am almost certain the roast potatoes were aunt Bessie with a bit of pepper sprinkled on, certainly not "goose fat with garlic and rosemary", mash potato wasn't that great and wouldnt be surprised if it was instant mash or something. At Β£15+ per meal would expect to have at least fresh potatoes opposed to frozen stuff. Not that great to be honest. Doubt would be going again.

Lovely Sunday Roast, warm friendly staff and a very nice atmosphere. Everyone on our table of 7 cleaned their plates! So go you won't be disappointed.

Not a great experience. I remember fondly coming here a long time ago, with my parents. The food USED TO BE great. The general ambience and service were great. I mean, I loved the food. Not any more though. I'll be honest I don't think I've ever had a more unpleasant steak. It had been butchered so terribly that I found myself unable to cut clean through it with a steak knife. My partner mean while tried to eat a beef pie whose crust was so tough she chose to pry the lid off and eat the content like a bowl of casserole. Regarding the staff. I don't think i have ever encountered a more disinterested group of 'workers'. I'm generally someone who prefers not to complain or make a scene. When I tried to give feedback on the steak, the waitress, ignored me. She couldn't even manage a slight apology, and walked straight off before I could even begin to mention the pie. In sad to have experienced the state of this pub. We will not be back.

Went for lunch today. Really nice country pub feel here. Food is really nice. Drinks a little overpriced maybe but all in all a good experience.
