Mixed Experience: Beautiful Ambience, Tasty Breakfast, but Disappointing Front Desk Service I recently stayed here and had a mixed experience. The hotel's ambience was beautiful, creating a luxurious and welcoming atmosphere. The breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of options. However, the front desk staff was rude and unprofessional. They tried to charge me for a breakfast that was included in my booking due to a system error. It's important for the hotel to improve their customer service. Overall, I cautiously recommend lace market hotel based on its ambience and breakfast, but be aware of the potential for poor front desk service.

I've stayed in every 4*+ hotel in Nottingham and this one is by far the best (and nowhere near the most expensive). They've perfected that luxury coziness, I was here for work but the room had me feeling like I was on my honeymoon!! The breakfast is gorgeous and the staff are lovely. I literally felt like a million bucks, I'm in love with this place & will never stay anywhere else.

Absolutely ideal place to stay, rooms were decent and dog friendly, stayed 2 nights and had the breakfast which was decent enough. The little pub attached is really quite charming with good set of beers on tap. Bed were comfy and staff really welcoming. would stay again

Stayed in a cozy double. Very snug but really what more do you need? Rooms do look a little tired, however, they’re reasonably priced, there’s a convenient pub for drinks next door that serves pizza 24 hours to you room and the room was clean. Bed was comfy and I slept well. There was an extractor fan outside the window that didn’t bother me as I like a bit of white noise but it did wake others in my party up. Overall I would recommend as it’s a convenient location.

I have stayed in few hotels in the world that care for their guests like the Lace Market does. Every member of the staff we encountered went above and beyond to make our stay lovely. If I find myself in Nottingham again I will certainly stay here. Thank you to all the lovely staff that helped us! Update — I realized I had left my running shoes at the hotel and had already flown back to the US. Most hotels would ignore the request to ship them back, but the Lace Market is different. I want to thank Lewis, Maddie, and especially Lolita for going to great lengths to help me get my shoes back. I’ll remember this incredible service for a very long time. Thank you.

A historic hotel with a labyrinth of small oddly laid out rooms. Ours had a large low violently wobbling fan over the bed that looked fit to decapitate the unwary. My other main memory is a cold risotto for dinner - not bad tasting, but obviously preprepared and weird. Who prefers cold risotto?

My family and I stayed at The Lace Market Hotel for 5 days and it was a fantastic experience. We received exceptional customer service from the moment we arrived (thank you Maddie!), until our departure. A special mention to the staff during breakfast who were so friendly and patient with us and our toddler. The hotel is centrally located and its easy to walk to shops/cafes/restaurants and the light rail. We look forward to coming back on our next trip to Nottingham.

I stayed for only one night & the hotel was ok for that. The location is very good, staff is very nice breakfast was good. However, the room I had was very dark, with all small windows facing the wall of a tiny courtyard. The room was decently sized, but the carpet floor, furniture and bathroom looked tired. It looked like at least my room hasn't been updated for quite some time Overall I'm not convinced about the 4 stars for the place

Had a lovely stay here. Although we did ask to change our pillows as the ones we had were very hard memory foam. Reception said they would see to it but they were not changed, so sleep wasn't great.

I stayed in the suite for my wedding, staff were friendly and accommodating. Changed bedding and provided extra towels on request. Staff at breakfast upon hearing it was my wedding day, went above and beyond to make sure my wedding party and I were well catered for. Very cosy and relaxed atmosphere, would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone needing a Nottingham city centre hotel.

We had afternoon tea. Served by a lovely guy called Carl who was extremely attentive. The presentation of the food was attractive freshly made and very tasty. Cristine the chef came round to the table to ask if everything was ok and asked our opinion on the food. She explained that the food was all freshly made by hand. The scones were delicious and all the cakes were very nice. I would highly recommend the afternoon tea.

We had a voucher for an afternoon tea at this hotel. We booked well in advance and ordered one normal and one gluten free afternoon tea. Having arrived in Nottingham (we live an hour’s drive away) I had a phone call about two hours beforehand saying the sandwiches would be gluten free but not the cakes. I am gluten intolerant so I said ok but if I was coeliac we would have had to cancel- this should have been established when we booked! Having said that, both the food, the Prosecco (including a refill) and the service were amazing. The staff were really cheerful and helpful. But they should not accept a booking for gluten free if they cannot deliver. I have coeliac friends and this would have ruined our day out.

A great location within walking distance of the train station. The creaky floorboards are slightly offputting and the rooms seem rather hot at times but these are minor quibbles as the hotel is in a lovely area with many eating options nearby.

Reported a faulty portable air conditioning unit in room prior to dinner as it was only blowing out hot air. On return from dinner room is boiling hot.. can not be slept in. Front desk team did not deal with the issue. 11.15pm and can’t sleep as it’s too hot.. !! You cannot sleep in rooms in the summer in this hotel without adequate air conditioning.. Shame the issue was not dealt with at the beginning and disappointed a reported issue was not resolved. !!

The 'pub rooms' are not bad, i had one on the second floor. Quite quiet and warm. So many pillows and cushions on the bed! The front desk staff are brilliant and even sorted me out a bacon and egg sarnie as i was checking out early and coulnt really make breakfast. Really liked Maddie's sense of humour 😏 you can drop your bags off early and they put them up in the room when its ready. Very handy if your train gets in early!

Stayed for a night brilliant location to explore the city, but unfortunately, there is no car park on site but plenty nearby. Room was large and clean. The evening meal was very good but there was no atmosphere in the restaurant and a strange taste of music. Breakfast was average plenty of choice, but it wasn't that tasty.

Great hotel. Rooms were clean and spacious. Lovely little restaurant on site, little pricey but food very tasty. Staff friendly and helpful. Great selection for breakfast. Location is spot on, a short walk to the town and plenty of places to eat/drink. Be aware of car park fees. There is no parking around the hotel so you need to park in a local car park. We paid £32 from Friday-Sunday.

Convenient hotel in Nottingham. It has a quirky and modern vibe. Single room was spacious. Bathroom was big and modern. Shower water pressure wasn’t very consistent though. Overall nice and relaxing room. Great teas and coffees available as well. Decent staff too.

We had a lovely one night stay. The welcome from Lewis and Magdalene was warm and efficient. Our room had wonderful views across town, was spotless and comfortable. Above all it was a peaceful night’s sleep. We were looked after for breakfast by James and Hannah. It was a treat to be in an independent hotel, which feels homely and individual….not bland and corporate.

Very nice modern clean and friendly hotel.rooms very nice, comfortable beds, well appointed bathrooms. Attached pub has a lot of charm with good range of beers. Full breakfast well presented and tasty.

stayed in the studio room which was amazing. very clean, modern and loads of space for my little daughter to roam around. bathroom was very spacious. service was excellent and the breakfast was delivered to our room right on time. only downside was that there was quite a bit of noise coming in through the windows at night which made it difficult to sleep. This may have been worse than normal due to us staying on a Saturday night with loads of taxis and people going past at late hours.

I was treated to an afternoon tea by my friend as a birthday gift. She was a little disappointed when we arrived as we were in the bar rather than the dining room but the staff more than made up for it! We were offered a choice of seating by Carl and his colleague. We chose a table in the breakfast room. The service was excellent, they were polite, friendly and attentive the whole time. The food itself was beautifully presented and exquisite. Everything was f43shly made, including the homemade jam for the most delicious scones I have ever tasted. The choice of cakes and pastries was perfect. My favourite being the tiny Eton mess tart. We passed on our compliments to chef Christina when she visited our table not once but twice to check everything was to our satisfaction. She was genuinely interested in our opinions on the food. All in all it was a lovely, chilled, relaxing afternoon. We felt welcomed and there was no pressure to rush to leave. We even made new friends! I would definitely recommend and will be visiting again. Thank you once again to Carl, Christina and the waiters.

Can't speak for the hotel but their bar is exceptional. Jimmy and Silvia work very hard to curate a great menu of interesting, refined and classic drinks, all made in a welcoming, relaxing friendly environment. I hope their new management allow them to continue at their best as they are the easiest recommendation in Nottingham for drinks.

Had afternoon tea, good experience, Carl and Christina looked after all our needs and both obviously love the work that they do. The sandwiches and cakes were first class, and the door with all of the signatures of the famous guests that had stopped at the hotel was a great idea. Thank you to both of you for a satisfying and interesting afternoon

Went for afternoon tea. We were warmly welcomed with a glass of prosecco. Sandwiches, cakes divine. we had 6 different little cakes. difficult to choose a favourite all excellent. Big shout out to chef Christina and waiters Ademar and Evelina who were very attentive and made our experience special

My daughter booked afternoon tea after she finally graduated from Nottingham University 2 years late. I’m not a fan of afternoon teas but I have to say this was probably the nicest one I’ve had, even tops The Biltmore in Mayfair London (which I won). The food was very tasty and enough of it that you didn’t feel hungry afterwards or too full. The staff were excellent and very attentive without being over the top, the chef even came out to see what we thought of the selection which we all said was just right. I would highly recommend the afternoon tea as the service and food were excellent. Thank you for a perfect end to a very special day.

Messed up my booking, resulting in 2 adults sharing a single room. In fairness they accepted the error and comped the room for 1 night. Staff were friendly and I appreciated the offer in light of their mistake.

What a beautiful hotel in a great location! We were staying as a birthday treat and requested a high up room with a view and were accommodated with a beautiful room on the third floor overlooking a church , on a gorgeous leafy tree lined street. We arrived well before check in as we had asked of it was OK to leave our luggage at reception while we went sightseeing. The lady on reception was so lovely , and on finding out our room was empty , put in a request to housekeeping to clean it first so we could check in early . We returned at 12noon and it was ready for us (some 3 hours before official check in) which we were so grateful for , it's so lovely when people go that extra mile, I didn't catch her name but she was so helpful, friendly and professional - a real asset to the hotel. The room itself was spotless, beautiful and well appointed. The bed was really comfortable, gorgeous original sash windows, loved the pillow choices. I am always happy when there is a fridge in the room so I can have cold drinks and the fact it was a well stocked mini bar was very welcome as its nice to know the option to purchase a drink in your room without room service is always a bonus. Bathroom had everything you could want , shower great! Was surprised as it looked pretty old but it had a fab water pressure. The room was very warm but the ceiling fan and additional fan on the table soon helped with that. The hotel is situated in a quiet street even though its really close to lots of bars and restaurants and is only a short walk to the centre. The bar next door is part of the hotel and serves delicious beer and the staff were friendly and helpful. A wonderful stay and will definitely return.

The rooms are nice and boutique but could use some updating. It is currently under renovation. The service was great. Pub cocktails are ok but not great. Excellent staff.

**** Stunning Hotel in the absolute best location in Nottingham City Centre George @ Reception at Lace Market Hotel Nottingham is the main reason for my 2 day stay this past weekend being a super positive experience for me as a hotel guest. Cons: The room, my room was exceptionally warm/stuffy. I am severely disabled (STBI) so I become very easily overheated anyway so when Room 36 was like Sauna & Mojave Desert had a baby, I suffered. George brought to my room a bucket of ice which was incredibly thoughtful and even fixed my early 80's air conditioner unit which cooled the room down to around room temperature in the end. Stairs only around the hotel and like everywhere you go so leaves any Guest feeling Olympics-ready just getting to their room. No door in the hotel has any way of opening them 'cleanly/hygienically aware/germless' with each handle needing to be pulled more forcibly before the door becomes ajar. A disabled button to press to automatically open the heavy doors would be miles better than what Lace Market Hotel Nottingham currently offers. TV is lower quality picture and sound. Programmes are very few and not becoming of a 4 star hotel. The bathroom suite is lovely, but I felt like I needed an Engineering Degree to figure out the Taps. x3 of them with absolutely no clear instructions labelled on any. So you cannot run a bath without the shower head also dripping. Summary: Lace Market Hotel Nottingham is a 3 star hotel in a fantastic location in Nottingham. I paid £207 for two-nights which comparatively to other hotels throughout the world I have guested in, was notably more expensive. I was safe, felt safe and it was clean in the hotel and my room. George at Front Desk was the highlight for me.

Good sized room which had just been refurbished. It has its own pu b attached to it which was friendly and comfortable. Breakfast was very good with a good selection. Only let down was the bedroom radiator and tv didn't work but the very helpful staff brought a fan heater which was more than adequate to heat the room.

What an amazing location for bars and shops. Room was beautiful (we got a free upgrade :) staff gave some excellent recommendations for cocktail bars. Breakfast was also fab.

Very average "4" star hotel. Room was very basic with all amenities. Room and bathroom quite dated, bed comfortable and complimentary tea and coffee facilities. The room was quiet considering the location, room temperature was very humid and hot. Used the mini AC unit and opened the window but the room remained an uncomfortable temperature to sleep. The location was spot on though and service polite and welcoming.

People are very friendly and helpful, however the room was a bit poor and old. Squeeky floor, carpet which was old, bathroom not great. Supplementeries were good, coffee etc.

Exemplary service and really beautiful, clean, opulent rooms. A fantastically well stocked minibar, teas, coffees, biscuits, even bath salts in the room I was in. I can't wait to revisit

Great hotel with good rooms. They did lose one of our suitcases for a few hours, but apart from that it was super. Good breakfast. Ate in their pub too which was good value.
