The food was excellent but a bit expensive but that was to be expected, the service on the other hand was well under par, the barmaid forgot two of our drinks right at the start. When we sat down for our meal the service was excellent but after we had received our meals the service became non existent, we didn’t see a member of staff for a couple of hours until we had to get someone’s attention to pay the bill so we ended up with only a couple of drinks all night and no dessert

Came to the car show on Sunday and I can confirm the actual venue has a stunning location. But taking that aside the staff and services were terrible! They made people wait nearly half an hour to be served for a glass of coke and the staff were just talking to one another and not actually bothered about customer service. I have heard that lakeside is going into administration which is totally understandable if that’s how they treat customers. I won’t be going back and I would not be booking a wedding here anytime soon!

We had dinner at Lakeside this evening and were thoroughly impressed. The venue is absolutely beautiful, with a wonderful garden and the indoor restaurant is very nicely decorated. We had 3 courses and each one was delicious! The whipped goats cheese starter is delightful, really light and fruity for a summer starter! The steak was tasty and not tough at all, it is served with good sides, the mushroom tastes like it is grilled over fire (yum) and the roasted tomatoes are sweet and delicious! The dessert board was perfect to share and finish off the meal with something sweet. Its also nice to be able to have a taste of a few of the desserts and not have to choose! The strawberry cheesecake was particularly tasty! Our waiter was excellent and attentive, the main meal did take a little while to come out, but we didnt mind. My only small complaint is that the chairs inside the restaurant are a bit uncomfortable. We had a wonderful evening and we will definitely be back (lots on the menu we want to try!) A little piece of paradise in Nottingham! Highly recommended!

A perfect setting for a restaurant, with the small lake and water fountains in the grounds,a perfect walk for after your food The staff were helpful and I liked the fact your allocated a waiter/waitress to your table. The food was fantastic and well presented, the lunch menu was nicely limited in choice, but had a wide variety of dishes. The portion sizes were ample for lunch. I was pleasantly surprised with how reasonably priced it is,with the setting and style of restaurant I expected higher prices, this really is value for money. I will certainly be visiting again, next time maybe for an evening meal.

The food & cocktail is amazing. The service is very good. Very friendly staffs. We loved the ambiance. It was our anniversary and the chef sent us a desert with Happy Anniversary on it. So sweet about them. Really loved the team. Definitely recommend.

First off the surrounding are spectacular, the building and gardens have been revamped to perfection. There were some gaps in service and some slightly odd anomalies like menus not being taken away, but this is to be expected when they have just opened and the team get up to speed. The food was Sunday lunch and it was very good! The meat both pork and lamb was very tender, the vegetables nicely cooked and not just boiled and watery. Kids meals were very big and they enjoyed them. Only slight disappointment was the Yorkshire puddings didn't seem to be made in house, and it was a little odd to get them with what we thought was a Lamb and Gnocchi meal (but turned out was a traditional Sunday lunch with potatoes replaced with black gnocchi). One other slight issue for us was the music was too loud, it got louder part way through the meal (louder album probably) and was not adjusted down, but it made conversation strained. Presentation wise i think the food could be a little better, the Lunch was tidily plated, but at the prices could have had a little more flair. The prices are at the top end, and i do expect very good food with some extra special touches, which is what i think i got, it could just do with a little push to get it over the line. Again overall it was their opening weekend and i thought they did a fantastic job and i will return! When I do I am sure I will be adjusting this review to 5 stars.

I enjoyed a delicious festive lunch here with colleagues. I had the roast chicken and it was cooked perfectly and presented very well. The sticky toffee pudding was a great end to the meal.

We decided at the last minute to go for a birthday lunch today, and were very impressed. The place has been recently restored and refurbished, and was absolutely spectacular inside and out. The staff were attentive, seeming to appear exactly when we needed them, but leaving us alone to enjoy our meal for the rest of the time. My pasta and king prawn dish was absolutely delicious. The steak in my husband's sandwich was excellent and very tender but he was slightly disappointed with the baguette it was served in. I finished my meal with a trio of sorbets which again were top notch. It was pricey, but not ridiculous for good food in a beautiful setting, and we will certainly return.
