Excellent—best roast and dinner we’ve had in Nottingham. Tried the lamb, pork, and beef (pictured) roasts and couldn’t decide which we liked best. Staff were delightful and the place was gorgeous.

Good to see this pub open again. It was a lovely evening, the look of an old tradition pub but with a new atmosphere. A great choice of music playing, loud enough to hear but not intrusive to listening to who you are with. Just one fault, in my opinion, is the unisex toilets. Not everyone is comfortable with that

Recently re-opened under great new owners who are renovating it. Same great choice of beers with Camra discount. Food coming soon.

Went to see what it was like since reopening. Only went for a drink, so I can't comment on the food. Good service, quite popular, seems like they've opened up more of the cave area, still get the "cave" smell but has the quirky atmosphere. Well worth a visit

Heard about the refurbishment so thought we’d try the Sunday Lunch. It’s so much brighter and welcoming than a few years ago when last here. Service was very good and the roast beef was amazing, mates lamb was apparently very good too. Apple crumble was perfect for this cold weather! Young lad serving was very good. Will definitely be back.

Great place to eat! My wife and I just happened to be looking for a place to eat and stumbled on this gem. Its built into a cave! Great place for a candle lit dinner and they serve wonderful food! I highly recommend them and I look forward to eating there again!

Love this place. Looking forward to the upper floor conservatory opening again. Such an amazing contrast the windowless and atmospheric caves on the rear ground floor

Very average food at very inflated prices. Was surprised that my request for potatoes instead of chips with my meal (potatoes were included with other menu choices) was greeted with extreme uncertainty by the waitress and ‘it might be okay, I’ll have to check with the chef’ 😆😆. Fortunately my request wasn’t considered too outrageous by the chef and potatoes were supplied. Menu was very limited, uninspiring and no sign of any specials to add to the variety. The prices are very inflated for what turned out to be very average pub food (£24 for a lamb shank). After struggling through a just about edible starter and main course, decided that even my sweet tooth couldn’t face their dessert choices. The menfolk in our party were happy with the beers on offer. Despite the lack of diners, service was very slow. Definitely won’t be making a reappearance.

Friendly & efficient barman with a great choice of drinks, nice prosecco glass for my little sister. Good refit to cheer up this cave pub & really snazzy ladies loos. Had a buzzing & relaxed atmosphere.

Popped in for a few after hearing about the substantial renovation, and it is amazing here now! Loved the spectacular variety of beers on tap & cask. Vibes were brilliant. And above all else, it's been beautifully done and is great to be having beers in the caves.

Lovely pub was not expecting the caves at the back for restaurant also the smoking area was good to. Had a great selection of alcohol (real ales and cider +more) food was fantastic and staff very helpful and kind what more could you ask for!!

A classic old Nottingham pub in the mountain, with a view of the rocks of the cave on the ceiling! Really, such a lovely place to go and hang out, a warm and cozy reprieve from the wet and damp. I would love to go again. The food was quite good (I had the vegetarian roast) - but the chips were exceptional! I would like to try the restaurant some day.

Decent pub, very unique for Nottingham with the caves, well kept beer. The exterior needs work doing as does the internal decor just feel like it needs a good clean, that may be difficult due to the caves. Felt not particularly welcoming for new comers as the average age in the pub was 50+ and all felt like regulars. Worth visiting

Not been here for a year, food is still of a good standard. £23 for a lamb Sunday dinner is ridiculous. You can get equally as good food in London for less. Table service wasn’t great, had to ask twice for my drinks. Find the manager very rude, she clearly doesn’t want to be there. The young staff are great on the other hand. Would I return, no.

Lovely venue and the food was great. My only gripe really is the unisex toilets... pee all over the floor and no mirrors. Yes it can smell a bit damp... but seeing as it is in a cave, it is to be expected!

Brilliant quirky pub with a beautiful bar and a cave restaurant. Excellent food and Bass Ale on draught?!?

It's a restaurant in a cave, nothing more to say. Well I will, a very warm welcome from the staff and even though we were 30 minutes early we were shown to our table. The Sunday roast we had, one chicken, one pork and one beef. The food was outstanding and so was the friendly service from our waitress. Highly recommend eating here.

Very good pub food with plenty of choice for vegetarians & gluten free options. Great setting and we enjoyed the unhurried service. Thanks to all the staff.

Ambience is amazing when sitting and eating inside the caves and the staff are good. It does smell a bit musty because of the damp though. The food is very overpriced for pub grub. For something simple like a burger, my bun was burnt to a crisp.

👍👍 Absolutely amazing! I went to have lunch on my graduation day with my friends. Food was very flavourful and cocktails were nice. Special dietary options are available and you always get 2-4-1 cocktails. Service was really friendly and approachable. Ambience and music is just cherry on top.
