Very
poor
communication
which
ruined
my
trip
to
Nuqui.
I
came
to
Nuqui
only
to
see
the
whales.
Having
spent
to
nights
in
Thermales,I
left
refugio
Salomon
to
return
to
Nuqui.
I
arrived
a
Delphin
Real
at
about
8am
and
asked
if
there
was
a
tour
leaving
to
see
the
whales;
if
not
today,
then
the
next
day.
I
was
told
that
there
was,
and
that
the
boat
was
leaving
at
9am.
So
I
just
grabbed
some
water,
sun
screen
and
my
camera,
excited
to
be
spending
the
next
few
hours
searching
out
and
hopefully
seeing
whales
up
close
(on
a
tour
to
see
the
whales).
The
receptionist
walked
me
to
the
dock.
After
the
first
hour,
we
hadn't
had
any
luck,
and
had
travelled
back
almost
to
Thermales.
That
didn't
concern
me
since
I'd
seen
boats
passing
Thermales
to
see
whales
at
the
point.
However,
our
boat
then
pulled
into
Thermales
and
everyone
got
off,
so
I
was
confused.
No
one
said
anything,
but
then
people
started
making
their
way
toward
the
thermal
baths
(tepid
at
best,
and
where
I'd
been
the
previous
day).
I
asked
one
of
the
boat
assistants
what
was
happening
and
he
explained
that
we
would
be
spending
the
day
here,
eating
lunch
(at
the
place
where
I'd
stayed
the
last
2
nights),
then
going
to
a
waterfall
(I'd
been
already),
and
then
getting
back
to
Nuqui
in
the
evening.
I
explained
to
the
Captain
that
there
had
been
a
huge
mistake
and
that
this
was
a
waste
of
a
precious
day
for
me,
and
I
really
should
not
pay.
He
said
we
could
work
it
out
at
the
hotel
later.
So
after
a
wasted
day
more
or
less
(we
did
spot
a
pair
of
whales
briefly
on
our
way
back
at
6pm,
but
didn't
spend
long
with
them),
I
explained
the
day
to
the
same
receptionist.
She
didn't
accept
any
responsibility
for
sending
me
on
the
wrong
tour,
or
not
explaining
anything
to
me,
but
agreed
I
shouldn't
pay.
She
also
stated
that
there
was
a
tour
with
another
couple
the
next
day
going
to
just
to
see
the
whales
(what
I'd
asked
for).
As
planned
the
captain
then
turned
up,
and
all
of
a
sudden,
everyone
is
saying
that
I
should
pay,
because
I'd
seen
whales
which
is
what
I'd
asked
for,
and
that
was
that.
We
had
a
big
argument,
but
unfortunately
many
people
just
want
the
gringos
money
whether
it
is
fair
or
not,
so
I
just
paid.
Then
to
be
told
that
the
tour
the
next
day
was
with
the
same
captain
and
it
would
cost
$150
for
me!
Today
I
haven't
been
able
to
arrange
a
tour
because
it
s
Sunday,
and
there
are
not
enough
people
around
and
I
can't
afford
to
do
this
alone
anyway.
So
basically
my
trip
to
Nuqu
has
been
ruined,
my
opinion
of
Colombians
has
been
tainted
(I've
spent
over
a
year
of
my
life
here
over
the
last
9
years
and
have
generally
loved
it).
Not
recommended.
Simple
communication
would
have
avoided
it,
and
then
some
honestly
in
accepting
responsibility.
Unfortunately
not
when
there
are
gringo
dollars
up
for
grabs.
Very
disappointed.
