The river serving the Glen Falls originates from the northern side of ‘Single Tree Hill’ (with an altitude of 2070m) on the boarders of the Nuwara Eliya town. Due to the excessive and illegal clearing at the top of the Single Tree Hill, this perennial waterfall dried up in the early 1990’s and turned in to a seasonal fall. The waterfall can be observed during and just after heavy rains to Nuwara Eliya. The ‘Glen Falls’ which added much scenic beauty to Nuwara Eliya is drying up. The waterfall once synonymous with the town of Nuwara Eliya of which many a hotel and roads are named after is now visible only on rainy days. Area residents have watched as the waterfall dried up before their eyes. Colonial Governor Edward Barnes who designed and developed the town of Nuwara Eliya, set up his official residence in the vicinity of the magnificent 60 -70 metre high falls. Today this beautiful waterfall is no more.

Good place very close to Nuwaraeliya town. They have a well equipped kitchen so you can prepare your own meals. There are two rooms, a small living area, one bathroom and a kitchen in each apartment.

It has become a seasonal waterfall. Such a beauty which used to add much beauty to nuwara eliya but no more. It can be seen during high rainy seasons but not with much water. It is visible to the opposite side of udupussellawa road at the round about near the nuwara eliya racecourse. But only when heavy rains are there

Stayed here, booked through AirBnb, as a group consisting two families. The appartment has two bedrooms , one with attached bathroom. There's a living room, and a functional kitchen. The house is well furnished, well equipped, tv, fridge, microwave, gas , stove, all set to house a family. Conveniently located, walkable distance from Victoria park and a short distance from Gregory Lake.

This was a lovely stay. Basically they had everything we needed and it was like a stay in your own house.

We really liked the room at the first floor, it was spacious and comfortable. Recommended!! The second night in another smaller apartment on the second floor with everything alright except for some bad odour coming from the toilet bowl of the master bedroom. I guess there is something wrong with the sanitary fixtures. Please see this matter. Thanks.

Waterfall almost dried out due to lack of rsinfall and catchment water use for agriculture.
