The service was great!!!! We unknowingly went there after the kitchen closed, and they still welcomed us and offered us fondue and malakoffs. Both were really tasty, and we left with a smile and a happy stomach.

Chez mon Oncle is an intimate, cosy restaurant near the lake-front in Nyon. I’ve dined here twice; the first time, I had the charcuterie board to start, which was delicious and varied and had a very generous portion size, and then the entrecôte de cheval (I have wanted to try a horse steak for a long time), cooked blue. The steak was excellent, cooked as I wanted and the fries on the side were really good too. I also had a bottle of the extremely drinkable and good value house red. The next day, I came back and had a mix of beef and horse “fondue Bourguignonne,” which is basically a pot of boiling oil and steak pieces. This was amazing, and I wish I’d had it before as well. As a blue-steak eater, I find it very hard to get the perfect combination: a barely cooked steak which is also piping hot. This solves this problem. This tasted amazing, and I had more of the house red with this as well. Additionally, the service was very helpful and gracious to me, especially since my French is atrocious, and so most of the interactions were conducted in English. Would definitely recommend to anybody visiting Nyon.

Gem of a place. Warm, friendly service. Food was excellent, all the classic local favourites (cheese fondue, fondue bourguignone, Malakoffs, steak tartare and much more).

It was a really so cute and typical swiss restaurant, they were so interested, wines and meals were so delicious and special to Switzerland.

The food is not bad, but also not extraordinary for the price, it is standard and the price is a bit expensive. My experience at the restaurant however was not great, because it was very hard to call attention to the staff to ask for things, which ended up creating some tension in my experience (we actually quit trying to ask some items because of the time it took to call their attention). At a certain point I tried to ask for boiled potatoes for the fondue. My french is bad, so I was stuttering, and mid sentence the staff interrupted me, told me he was going to check and did not mention it again (I was a bit frustrated with the situation so I didn't try to ask again). At the end of the day it was a pretty bad experience due to the staff more than anything.

Terrible and rude service, especially from the female bartenders and host staff. All of them were eating and after about 10 minutes of me waiting, they told me they didn’t have food for me. I asked if I could be seated (at least for a drink, there were open tables), she said no. Nothing else. Just no. They need training on their staff they’re very sub par, but giving a star for food because I heard it’s good.

Lovely atmosphere, great service, delicious fondue.

A real local gem just steps from the lake. Think I was the only tourist there which is always a good sign. One word…raclette. They have a Monday special not to be missed. Forget your anti-dairy mantra for now and go for it and chase all that goodness down with a crisp local white wine. Tables are tight but I made friends. I love this place.

WE loved this restaurant. Let me tell you: I could have put 6 stars score, I would have done it. Got it? All went very well: order and server fast. Delicious Fondue, we ask for potatoes as an extra , we had those little and delicious potatoes that kids love. Super accommodating staff, calm atmosphere, polite staff, well advised when it is about drinks. Highly recommended. Walls are decorated with 20tg century postal cards kind of with humorous txts in FRENCH. You have to speak French! Very funny It is a little bit expensive, 70% of the bill was the fondue. But totally worth it!

Cozy place with good service, I liked fondue with potatoes, filled much more lighter than with a bread. The only thing is s ventilations there dose not provide enough fresh air... stuffy

We had a very nice cheese fondue here, it was incredibly tasty and the atmosphere was super cozy, perfect for a cold and rainy november evening. Both staff and other guests were very friendly and our waiter was super helpful. I can very much recommend this place, and I will surely come back to chez mon oncle
