My family visits the park weekly during the summer to swim. It's very affordable $3 for adults and $2 for kids. Life guards and life jackets are always available. Even had my daughter's birthday party there. Staff is great. Nice little hide away in the Oakland hills. My only complaint is the lack of cell service but its be very expected that high up. Beautiful scenery. Plenty of parking for $5 bucks.

Great place for quick hike very close to the city. The views are amazing and there plenty of trail options to chose for ranging from just walks to a few pretty decent inclined once. ( plenty of parking available as well )

What a great, hidden little gem. $5 for parking gets you into a nice sized lot with lots of space. There are bathrooms, a great playground including several structures to climb. The playground is not shaded and the slides are mostly metal, so thats not ideal on a really sunny or hot day. There are grassy areas to throw a Frisbee and tons of picnic tables all around the play area and across the parking lot in the woods. We saw many parties taking place. There are also many trails and picnic areas in the redwoods to take walks or eat. We loved it here and it was not crowded and pretty quiet. We took a walk on the manzanita loop and it was the perfect length for younger kids. We found all kinds of interesting mushrooms and plants to look at.

This park is at the crest of the Oakland hills right near chabot science center. one of the best things about it is it feels like you're out in the middle of the woods even though you're in a suburban area. It feels tremendously comforting just to walk around here. It has a pool, epically large play structure for kids of various ages, picnic area, clubhouse, fields, wooded trails, camping areas and picnic areas. $5 parking fee. It really has it all. One of the best parks in Oakland for sure.

Had a wonderful time here. There is safe parking in the park and access to a wonderful playground, swimming pool and the best trails in Oakland. You can get turned around easily, so watch yourself. Finally, you can count on clean bathrooms with running water and water fountains that actually work too.

Quite good for only for families and kids, not for hikers. I went here in the hope that it would yet another place to start a hike in this Anthony Chabot regional park area. But unfortunately, I was wrong. It is more of a picnic spot with benches under shady trees, a swimming pool, a volleyball court, a football ground, etc. There is also a five dollar entrance fee!!! I also saw some of the area being reserved for some marriage. But overall it is good if you just want to sit in nature.

I've got a weekly ritual of going for hikes here. Hundreds of miles of trails, all of which are beautiful. I love the accessibility and diversity here. Just make sure to not leave anything in sight in your car, lots of break-ins.

Jewel of an area. They're currently renovating the pool area , and we can't wait to go swimming surrounded by gorgeous redwoods again! The playground and the whole area is gorgeous! The perfect little oasis

This park was my nature sanctuary for the last 15 years. I never imagined I would be harassed on a trail. I was harassed by a middle aged white man, a dog walker on Friday. This man chased me down a trail shouting at me. I ignored the harassment, and kept moving away fast. This man and 2 other individuals kept shouting at me and approaching me! 3 people and about 8 dogs. They were all middle aged white people. Violating park boundaries for dog walkers, the off leash animals were not under control. I was harassed, chased and shouted at. I will never feel safe in this park again.

This park was absolutely beautiful surrounded by gorgeous Redwoods, plenty of space to do picnics, and birthday parties, a great place to do non- or formal pictures with great scenery in the background, a definitely a place to return to have a piece of mind. As well the restrooms were absolutely spotless clean.

This place is the most beautiful place that I have been to in a while. I will definitely be returning I was there with family and friends. We saw somebody getting married there on the other side. We're taking photos. This was just overall beautiful I and a whole lot of other people will be camping there. So it was just so spacious also

so many trails to choose from, so many ancient trees, great places to hide away and have a snack or relax, stunning views around every turn!! some trails are tricky with roots and leaves/pine needles, be careful (I fell haha but I'm ok) The trails can get steep but you can take breaks often. Everyone we encountered was polite and courteous. Parking was easy and good amount of trash cans so trails were clean. The best part was most of the trails are covered in shade!! Great hike on this 100+ degree day!!

Had a great time walking on the trails with my small dog on a sunny fall day. Many areas have picnic tables throughout the park.

We had a fabulous time and it was a joy to celebrate our 25th anniversary under the redwoods!

$5 parking....SO clean and well kept! Be forewarned that they are renovating the entire pool area so there is a lot of construction noise. However, big noisy vehicles may be an added bonus for some kids who are fascinated by them.😁 There are plenty of picnic areas and trails that go in all directions. A beautiful gem of a park, with a small climbing wall too. Best for ages 5+ in my opinion. Toddlers and younger can only do so much beyond swings and a low slide. When the pool is finished in 2023 this will really be the hot spot.☺️🌞🔥🔥🔥

Beautiful redwood park amidst the busiest Oakland city. Ample parking space and enormous trails surrounding the area. Picnic tables, bbq area, water fountain, decent restrooms are the highlight of this park. Parking fee of 5$ applicable. Kids play area is located inside the park. Had a cool and breezy evening here ( because of high red wood trees ) during a hot summer season.

Pretty cool park! The play structure looks like it's well maintained. It's not far from the picnic area and tables. There are a few hiking trail heads here, too. One thing to note is that a few families with on leash dogs were letting them run around the play structure.
