Very beautiful hike. Is amazing what all is just above campus of UC Berkeley. Good for dogs too but is a fairly popular hike due to close proximity - so a good sprinkling of people around. Great views also.

Steepest trail in the East Bay, definitely challenging. I do a 6 mile loop that connects with the Strawberry Canyon Trail & circles back to Clairmont Canyon. The views are some of the best in the Bay & the wild flowers are in full bloom.

Gorgeous view of the city and the bay from the preserve! The best view points are close to different trail heads around Berkeley, the Berkeley Overlook Vista Point and a place marked as Pano. However, those segments of the trail are also the steepest so definitely be prepared for some strenuous climb. The trail east of Panoramic Way is significantly quieter with much less foot traffic but also you are getting away from the best views and getting into the woods.

This is probably the most fun hiking spot I've been to. The trails are beautiful and really fun to walk through with my two German Shepherds. We are so conked after hiking for an hour. The trails are not just straight paths. They are up and down and sideways. Not an easy trail to walk through if you're out of shape like me. I've gone on hikes with my dogs before and never had a trail made my calves hurt so bad the next few days after. Though, the trail was so fun and immersive that every second was well worth it. My dogs are also just as tired as I was after and they were happy with how fun the trails were. I'm definitely coming here again!

I enjoyed the hike including some flat parts that even toddlers could come along and the second half was steep but not too much. I went with regular sneakers but while coming down be a bit careful if you're not wearing hiking sneakers. The view is amazing 😀

I have a standing weekly date with one of my grandma friends to walk the steep trails--not for sissies. My friends app says it is a 50-story hike. If we feel tired, we walk slower. There are amazing views of the Bay that can feel like rewards as you walk up up up. Friends comment on my vitality--this hike is part of my exercise program. I think it is part of the reason that I scored in the 99 percentile during my last stress test. The beginning of the climb has the advantage of amazing work of volunteers removing non-invasive plants and replacing them with local flowering varieties. This, for me, is 100 times better than a stair master at a stinky gym. And the price is right! Free.

I love watching the sunset from here, it's amazing. During the day it's excellent to hike for the views alone. I highly recommend visiting at least once and taking a good camera. Lots of incredible views and trails. The trails have numerous steep parts, so bring water and good trail shoes.

Great park with challenging hikes and fantastic views. There are trails here that ascend ~1,500 feet - all the way to the base of Tilden Regional Park. It’s a park I frequent when weather permits (which fairly often) for the hikes. I’ve seen all manner of wildlife on trails in this park: Coyotes, deer, prairie dogs (or at least that is what I think they are), rabbits, rattle snakes, lizards, etc… but haven’t had any issues.

Excellent views, beautiful weather today. The trail has some mud after recent rain, but manageable

The views here are incredible! If you’re from out of town, or you have out of town guests, definitely come here! You can see the entire bay, Oakland, Cal, SF, and Marin, see the Golden Gate, and on to the ocean! Not a bad length of hike either, it’s about a mile to the part with great views, and you can keep going beyond that if you wish.

Best place for hiking near Berkeley. Slight windy road to go to the top. But one you reach the top there is roadside parking. The view of bay area from the top is amazing. Quiet place foe hiking. Not many people. No washrooms.

I absolutely love this hike, though the hills are quite steep, especially in the beginning. But there's a swing and who doesn't love a swing?!

One of the best places to hike in the area. Great views, and a good amount of elevation gain. Tough hiking boots recommended.

Caught the sunset on top of Grizzly Peak, breathtaking! Peaceful, clean, and a much needed shot of nature.

Perfect place to throw a ball for a dog in the flat part with the wood chips. Also great steep hike up to see views of the day. Highly recommended
