I'm
in
from
Ottawa
for
work
and
went
to
Element
CrossFit
somewhat
at
the
last
minute
this
evening.
The
process
of
signing
up
for
a
day
pass
was
super
easy.
When
I
arrived,
a
class
was
going
on
(it
looked
good
right
away,
people
working
hard
but
at
their
own
pace).
It
was
easy
to
walk
in,
put
my
stuff
down
and
just
observe
from
a
nice
little
seating
area
(I
find
some
places
you
might
stand
around
feeling
awkward
because
you're
new).
And
then
Camille
from
Element
came
right
up
and
warmly
welcomed
me
to
the
space.
We
chatted,
I
told
her
my
temporary
work
situation
and
she
gave
me
options
to
save
money
on
return
visits.
I'm
not
a
shy
person,
so
I
don't
generally
have
trouble
integrating
into
new
places,
but
having
someone
greet
me
was
completely
unexpected.
And
super
nice.
I
quickly
met
another
member
who
was
also
waiting
for
the
next
class.
And
then
the
instructor
for
the
class,
Chris,
promptly
came
over
to
shake
my
hand
and
also
welcome
me.
Thanking
me
for
coming.
So
nice!!
Chris
saw
that
there
were
some
new
faces
so
he
quickly
broke
the
ice
for
us
and
then
he
got
into
explaining
the
program
for
the
hour,
with
clear
demos.
Before
the
warmup
started,
I
could
tell
the
members
were
at
ease,
making
some
fun
jokes
about
the
work
ahead
of
us.
Another
member
helped
me
find
the
things
I
needed.
And
during
the
class,
Chris
came
around,
checking
in
with
each
person
to
make
sure
they
were
performing
the
movements
correctly,
and
offering
some
suggestions
for
how
to
improve
or
even
bump
things
up
a
notch.
It
was
a
great
hour.
The
members
fist
bumped
each
other
and
I
spoke
with
some
of
them
after
the
class.
Honestly,
if
this
one
experience
is
a
measure
of
the
rest
of
their
sessions,
I
think
Element
is
a
fantastic,
welcoming
environment.
I
plan
to
return
as
soon
as
I
can.
Thank
you
to
everyone
I
met
tonight.
