Alright,
settle
in
and
let
me
tell
you
the
story
of
how
Dawn
and
9
Round
helped
transform
me
from
a
serial
gym
membership
buyer
to
a
person
who
not
only
shows
up,
but
actually
*enjoys*
(I’m
not
even
exaggerating!)
her
workout.
After
a
20
year
history
of
failed
gym
relationships
I’d
pretty
much
given
up
on
anything
that
requires
a
contract
because
I
know
I
won’t
go
more
than
about
4
months.
Win
#1
-
9
Round
is
only
a
one
month
commitment.
In
my
entire
life,
I
have
had
zero
interest
in
kickboxing.
I
actively
do
NOT
want
anybody
physically
fighting
me
and
honestly,
it
seemed
kinda
boring.
But
I’d
done
some
home
workouts
w
shadow
boxing
as
a
premise
that
I
had
enjoyed,
so
when
a
9
Round
opened
around
the
corner
from
me,
I
figured
I’d
give
it
a
go.
I
mean,
I
could
literally
walk
and
it
was
not
far
from
the
train
I
took
to
work
every
day.
Also
NO
class
times.
Which
is
perfect
for
my
gym
commitment
issues
;).
Suffice
to
say,
it
is
the
opposite
of
boring.
So,
with
all
that
background,
here’s
what
got
me
in
the
door:
-
Only
monthly
commitment
-
No
class
times
-
Trainer
involved
in
every
workout
incl
in
cost
of
membership
(I
hate
tiered
memberships
w
a
passion)
-
Free
gloves
(don’t
know
if
that’s
still
a
thing,
but
it
was
when
I
started)
-
Different
workout
every
day
-
Timed
workout
-
I
knew
it
would
always
be
half
an
hour
-
App
w
stats
(I
love
my
collection
of
reasonably
useless
data)
Once
there,
here’s
what
made
me
stay;
lots
of
this
I
give
credit
to
Dawn
(owner)
personally
rather
than
9
Round
org:
-
It’s
like
that
song
about
it’s
good
to
go
where
everybody
knows
your
name….
Within
days,
I
felt
like
family.
All
the
trainers
knew
me
and
would
address
me
by
name.
If
it
was
morning,
they’d
leave
me
alone;
afternoon
we’d
chat.
And
I
could
see
they
were
reading
all
their
clients
to
suit
personal
preferences
(I
am
not
a
people
person
before
9am).
-
All
the
trainers
were
cheerful,
positive,
and
able
to
offer
practical
technical
advice,
enabling
me
to
learn
the
new
skills
safely,
effectively,
and
injury
free.
-
One
person
to
a
station
and
you
all
rotate
at
the
same
time
so
never
waiting
on
anyone
to
finish
or
to
use
any
machine
-
Each
exercise
is
only
3
minutes.
If
I
enjoy
it,
it
flies.
But
even
if
it’s
something
I
despise
w
a
burning
passion,
it’s
*only*
three
minutes
and
I
know
I
won’t
have
to
do
it
again
tomorrow
-
The
challenge
of
the
week:
a
new
one
every
week,
it
rotates
stations
(and
related
skills).
I
find
I
always
put
in
a
little
extra
on
“CHOW”
day.
Winner
gets
bragging
rights
and
a
pic
w
an
oversized
belt
;).
I
also
like
that
the
staff
participate
as
well
but
aren’t
in
the
running
for
the
win.
-
Trainer
drills
-
this
is
1-1
work
with
a
live
person
that
usually
requires
a
little
more
coordination.
The
trainers
are
really
good
at
modifying
to
suit
ability.
-
The
place
is
always
spotless.
Even
in
the
before
times,
pre
COVID.
-
Kickboxing
is
phenomenal
stress
relief!
Had
a
rough
day
at
work?
Punch
it
out!
Super
excited
and
life
is
awesome?
Punch
faster!
It
suits
almost
every
mood.
Even
exhausted:
putting
almost
no
effort
into
the
workout
is
a
cheat
for
sure,
but
is
still
one
step
up
from
staying
on
the
couch,
and
I’d
always
feel
better
after.
Cons:
-
no
showers
made
it
so
I
couldn’t
stop
on
my
way
to
work
(it
really
is
a
drop
in,
workout,
and
go
situation)
-
I
had
to
invest
in
80s
style
headbands
to
control
sweat
cause
you
can’t
wipe
when
wearing
gloves!
Honestly
-
a
pretty
short
list
compared
to
all
of
the
above!
Drop
in,
give
the
free
trial
a
shot,
and
even
if
you’ve
never
wanted
to
box,
you
may
find
that
one
thing
that
helps
you
improve
your
fitness.
I
did.
