I ordered the shrimp curry with Greek salad. While the overall portion was great, I would have liked a bit more salad (perhaps in a separate bowl) especially since it was an additional $4 to upgrade. I also would have appreciated it to be a spicier but that’s just me. It was still delicious and unique! The server (Kim) was friendly and attentive. I was celebrating my birthday and often establishments make it special by providing a dessert or something small on the house. This wasn’t the case and it was disappointing. That being said, my overall experience was great and I would return again.

Delicious lentil soup and lamb plate. The lamb was soft and perfectly cooked. The fries were coated and remained crispy. Great attention was put into the making and presentation of the food and decor.

Loved my visit. Food was incredible, the staff was very welcoming and warm. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good time and great food.

UPDATE: this was the second time we are in this place and evwrything is getting even better, tried some new plates and they are all amazing. Service is great too The restaurant is open with great new owners that are very lovely people. The service is just perfect, the food is great, we tried 4 different plates and they were all very tasty with big portions and finally the prices are so affordable.

Starting from the location in the downtown Oakville in Bronte area one of the best areas in oakville.. To the view while having your meal or drink to the kindness of the owner of the restaurant through to the amazing delicious plate, detailed home made grill... He has I diversity collection of dishes selected carefully to satisfy all kind of customers... Zara's has its own line of wine.. It was a brilliant experience, it's the kind of business that is carefully taken care of by the owner and the chef... You will feel that he is your friend from the first time you meet him. Thank you Mel for your hospitality and generous warm welcoming.

Zara's is one of my favorite mediterranean places whenever we are nearby. Polite service and superb taste. Food is always fresh, well cooked, and consistently flavourful. Very reasonable prices. Highly recommended!

Went for dinner on a Saturday evening around 730pm. It wasnt busy there were two tables being served. We ordered the one skewar platter that comes with one chicken, one beef and one meat ball texture skewer. The platter was delicious the meat was a bit dry but the seasoning made up for it because we were focused on how good the food was. The rice and quinoa was just right! We had also ordered fried calamari and coconut shrimp that comes with babagnoush and hummus that also came with nan bread, the dips were tasty the fried items were good just a bit oily. Overall I would definitely come back, the food , service was great! The reason why one star off was because ventilation of the restaurant could be a bit better it was very smoky because it was an open concept kitchen. They are also now under new management.

Recently went in for lunch and the new management is incredible. Amazing dining experience, delicious food, and a great patio outside. 10/10 would recommend. Best Mediterranean food in Oakville. Mixed grill was my fav!

amazing food and amazing service. Kim and Mel are wonderful hosts. it feels like home, the food is delicious. My favourite is the moroccan veggie, saganaki, and baba ghanoush. Prices are reasonable for the portion sizes and they have great vegetarian options, Mel is very accommodating. Kim is just a wonderful host and server. Would definitely recommend visiting.

My wife and I were craving souvlaki and found this place with good reviews. We were disappointed as it did not taste like souvlaki and the sauce was more of a garlic mayo vs souvlaki sauce. The good points about it was that the portion was decent and the chicken tasted decent but it was not souvlaki.

The food is actually pretty good... The last time I went to this restaurant was a couple of weeks ago. Their prices had gone up five dollars right around the board. Not only that, but they charge you two dollars for water. The meal that they charge $25 for is not worth it. And then? You add $2 for the water plus tip plus tax is waaaayyyy too expensive for what you get. I thought it was against restaurant policy rules to not serve water with someone's meal. What happens if you choke? The waitress asks you if you would prefer bottled water or carbonated for the price of two dollars each. And when I said just water she replied I will get you tap water. Making you feel bad that I am not ordering a drink. I mentioned to the waitress that she should mention to the owner that the customers are not happy with this. Her reply it was... I just work here. When I left I said see you never again...

Went for a lunch date and food was great! I thoroughly enjoyed their Grilled chicken with veggies! It’s like a stir fry on a bed of salad! Perfect lower carb option! Definitely in our “will come back again list”!

The food was wonderful. I ordered coconut shrimp and mixed appetisers for the appetisers. For the main dish, I ordered the lamb tikka, and it came with iraqi samoon bread, which was amazing. My husband enjoyed the Quzi. My kids loved the falafel sandwich. We were amazed by how fast the chef was in preparing the food. Overall, the restaurant is worth the visit

This place was recommended by a relative, and it did not disappoint. Chef Mel made delicious meals for every person in our party of six, and server Kim was an absolute blast - just the right mix of funny and down to business. Highly recommend this little gem!!

Zaras comes across as a fine dining experience on the outside, but from the moment you first speak with any employee (who I assume are actually the owners) you're instantly feel like a family member. They're very kind and personable making for a delightful dining experience.

A hidden gem. Unassuming, excellent food and fantastic service my Kim. It was my wife's birthday and she made it special. Happy to have found this place in Oakville. They make you feel very welcome and pay attention to details. One advice I have is to make sure you are hungry, the portions are mega 😉 I highly recommend Zaras.

If you are looking really good Mediterranean place.... you have try this place. Fresh and delicious.. Try their Meza platter.. The pita was good too... You have to try the traditional coffee with baklava. And to top it all the host is really friendly!

The food and service is amazing. I would recommend eating here. The Chicken Shwarma and Creamy Chicken Curry is some of the best I have had. The Chicken was made just right and not dry. The portions are very generous.

Wonderful meal at Zara’s, now under new ownership. Prompt warm service and great home cooking. Such huge portions, enough for lots of take home leftovers. Loved all the meals of chicken with pineapple, kebabs and shrimp curry. Beautiful presentation!

We have been in many Mediterranean restaurants, but Zara is the best by far. The staff and the new management are very nice and friendly. We ordered lamb and chicken tikka, the tase is amazing, we cannot wait to come back and try other stuff they have in the menu. Thank you for the delicious food

A hidden gem with everything halal. The beef steak was delicious. Generous portions and great and quick service. Light relaxing music so you can hear and enjoy your company and your meal. The waitress and the chef are very nice. We’ll definitely go back to try other options.
