This Japanese restaurant is tucked away between a chocolate shop and a Metro Supermarket. I dined here for lunch on a weekday. There are around 2-3 booth seating available and some tables near the entrance. Right as you step in on the left is a small Japanese garden with a small pool of water. I was greeted and directed to a table in front of the sushi counter. They served tea in a traditional tea cup and had pottery placed around the restaurant. I ordered a sushi and sashimi lunch set and the fish was very fresh and tasty. The salad was tasty as well. A peaceful lunch 😊

Gave me a discount for paying cash quick and easy service got the couples special $43 and you get quite an assortment of rolls, spring rolls, miso soup, teriyaki of your choosing and salad. Would definitely come and dine in another time as the interior was so delightful!

Went for lunch and really had an enjoyable time. Small mom and pop restaurant in a strip mall that is nicer inside than outside. You wouldn't guess from the sign that the place unremarkable. Decor is pleasant and fitting, with the sushi prep counter right in the middle. Limited seating with booths too, but when we went it seemed like they were short staffed and service was not fast. Food was fresh and nicely presented. Good variety with Korean menu items also included in the mix. Prices are average. Large parking lot, but it is busy. Other restaurants are near by as backup.

Sushi was really good and fresh!! Service was very efficient and friendly. Cute and cozy sushi spot. Price is right, especially for the portions. They have a great lunch specials too!

After months of craving sushi (lockdowns, ugh) we finally decided to order some. And we made the right choice in choosing Niwa to satisfy our cravings. They did not disappoint!! We had 4 types of dragon rolls, tempura, spring rolls and seaweed salad and everything was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this place and will definitely be ordering again. Maybe the best sushi we've ever eaten (and we eat a LOT of sushi). Food came quickly, ingredients were fresh, and the prices are right. 10/10, would eat here again. (Seriously couldn't stop smiling throughout the meal. Finally, delicious sushi!!)

Tried their ay roll and let me tell you it was amazingggg!!! Being a vegetarian it’s very difficult to find veg sushi that taste good as well so this is by far the best sushi I had !! Want to try more soon

Went there for dinner and had their pressed sushi, chicken karage, edamame, and the beef bento dinner (and also some hot sake)! The food was delicious and well-presented! The place was also very reasonably-priced for a sushi place in Oakville! Would definitely come again! 😋

I placed a large order for my company from Niwa last week. The woman who takes the orders is very fast, friendly and efficient. The food was fresh and yummy. I gave it an overall 3 because as I went to use the bathroom, I saw that they had a booth toward the back with a bar full of lettuce spilling all over the table - and it looks like they were preparing salads there. But, gross. It was NOT sanitary. My coworkers and I didn’t eat our salads because I told them how it was prepared but the sushi was tasty and fresh.

This is honestly my new fav sushi place. The food is delicious! The staff are very accommodating, and kind. It's a cute little gem! I highly recommend stopping in. Also, for a quick bite, best sashimi!

Food is consistent. Wouldn't consider them anywhere near the top for Japanese sushi in the GTA, but good and consistent for Oakville. Restaurant is clean, but doesn't have the most seating. Service is good, but sometimes when they get busy service can be slow due to having only 1 wait staff.

Hands down the best sushi restaurant in Oakville. Has NEVER disappointed me...except on Sundays when they were closed lol. Very high quality ingredients, amazing service, attention and the chef is absolutely masterful. The food is delicious and visually delightful every time, whether it's dine in or take out. Highly recommend it! In the pics are the Fire Roll Maki, Veggie Dragon Roll B Maki, Double Philadelphia Maki and the Salmon Sushi Pizza. Paired with Green Teas, a favorite for us!

It's been hard to find really enjoyable sushi in the west side of the GTA but Niwa has been an amazing experience. I brought some guests visiting Canada and I thought to try Niwa out. Glad I took the chance. The presentation of the sushi boat was great, the flavours were delicious and overall the service was delightful. Great spot that I would say competes with many top places in Markham and RIchmond Hill.

When you look at restaurants you typically look at the atmosphere, style, design of the restaurant. That's what Niwa is missing. It looks kind of sketchy. However, the food will take your mind away from the older looks and bring your attention to how good the food is. My mom, dad and I went to try out this place for dinner, I was sceptical at first. But I decided to try it anyways. Good service, not busy at all. Shrimp tempura was amazing!! We ordered a bunch of sushi, it was so good. And I am obsessed with sushi so it was one of the best ones I've ever tried. Their sushi won't disappoint you. The volcano rolls, dynamite rolls, and green dragon were my favourite:)))

I have been to many sushi restaurants as it is often my cuisine of choice. This is by far the best I have been to. I come here consistently and the food is always amazing. Great prices, fresh food every time. I rarely write reviews but niwa sushi really deserves a 5 star rating.

There's no excuse for this. Tiny slivers of salmon, terrible preparation. Totally unacceptable. If you're going to rip me off at least roll it well. This cost $35 😭😭😭

First time we went in there was three of us, two big guys and one mom. I let them choose and everything was very fresh. smelling clean and everything was tasty. we probably could have eaten all night. Will definitely be returning. You need to be careful because the Japanese is on the right hand side and there's another food place on the left hand side so it would have been easy to make a mistake.

Decent little sushi shop. Standard sushi and lunch menus, taste is regular. Very nice service, clean washroom that also serves as storage room. No complaints but also nothing too special. Lots of people getting take out and the service was very fast.

Decent quality but the tako sashimi was only okay for the price. It's a bit expensive. I also ordered the Philadelphia roll which was portioned well. I ordered the Big Dynamite roll as well which was delicious but missing the tobiko. Packaged nicely for take out. I was told 15 to 20 minutes wait time for my order and it was ready in less than 15 minutes. Friendly woman took my order. I'll definitely visit again.

My favourite Japanese restaurant for years if I have cravings for Japanese food 🍱 Great location with lots of free parking. The staff here are very nice and food is always fresh and delicious. I highly recommend 👍🏼
