Beautiful house in the centre of Berlin. It's a 18th century house (the Biedermeier period) belonging to the Knoblauch family. It's a family house and as you enter you feel at home, you feel welcome. I should recommend this museum. Johann Knoblauch was a wire-drawer, middle-class.

Very great well preserved XIXth century house. Two floors can be visited with a lot of information about the city and the historical context, you're totally free to wander in the house the way you want. The last part dedicated to Schinkel and the Humboldt brothers has a very complete set of info. This place needs to be more famous and more visited, admission and audioguides are free, the team is super nice ; it deserves your donation to help renovate!

...after many years, today we once again visited the interesting garlic house in the Nikolai district. The museum in the Knoblauchs' former home and business building shows visitors how a middle-class family lived in Berlin during the Biedermeier period. Along with another visitor, we were the only guests. The entrance fee (5 EUR) is, in my opinion, reasonable for what you get on 3 floors. Definitely visit. Afterwards you can relax in one of the many restaurants and cafés around 😃

I loved this museum. It brings to life how a family lived, worked and what were the daily struggles. Fantastic pieces of home décor from 1835-40. Staff in this museum is very kind, attentive and friendly.

Small but nice museum. You get a good impression of how people lived back then. The museum is located in the Nikolaiviertel, which is also worth a visit. I will visit the museum again but then take an audio guide. I was there as part of Museum Sunday and didn't have to wait.

Interesting and worthwhile. You can spend an hour in there and find out Berlin upper class life in the 18th century. Nice to visit with kids too, with around 10 authentic rooms to discover. It has free entry and they accept donation. Friendly staff too.

The Knoblauchhaus Museum is a real insider tip in Berlin, and is also really centrally located not far from the Red Town Hall. The museum shows the house of the family of the industrialist Knoblauch in the Biedermeier period. Due to fortunate circumstances, almost nothing was changed and the original furnishings were preserved. The visitor immerses himself directly in this time and the life of the family; he experiences the living culture and attitude to life as well as contact with well-known personalities of the time. Admission to the museum is free, so a donation was more than necessary.

A house as a museum. It's cramped here, but gives a glimpse of what life was like two hundred years ago. There is no mention of the housing and life of the servants and servants. At least the audio guide provides additional information. Since there is no entry fee, go there and see for yourself.

Beautiful house, located in old Nikolai Quarter. This is a former residence of the Knoblauch family. I enjoyed to visit this museum several months ago. It was interesting to see 200 years old furnitures and items. There was a homely atmosphere. Entry to this museum is free. Staff is very friendly. Recommend to visit this place.

A wonderful gem in the Berlin museum landscape! The original house from the 18th century houses excellent Biedermeier furniture and art objects from the estate of the Knoblauch family in Berlin. Beautifully presented and accessible in an exciting multimedia way for young museum visitors. Located in the middle of Berlin's old town, a beautiful destination for all ages. Highly recommended!

Wonderful old building exactly as it was in early 1800s. The interior us full of furniture and items which are nearly 200 years old. Much smaller than I expected with a really narrow and rickety spiral staircase. The Knoblauchhaus is devoted to the Biedermeier era in Berlin. The former residence of the Knoblauch family is one of the few remaining 18th century town houses in Berlin. In its reconstructed living quarters, which are true to the original, exhibits and documents give visitors a glimpse of the life of this well-to-do family. They also offer fascinating information about the architecture, economy, culture and social life of the Biedermeier era. Well worth a visit. It's in a really nice old area of Berlin with lots if little cafes and restaurants.

A great opportunity to see how people lived in the 18th and 19th centuries. Lived in Berlin. The Humboldt Forum is definitely jealous of the Humboldt exhibition in the building...

It almost feels as if the residents are back again. Very interesting and impressive if you want to empathize with this time. Even though there were a lot of people in the relatively small space, the exhibition went surprisingly smoothly. Bags are left on the ground floor and there is a cloakroom here. The house is not suitable for wheelchairs, strollers, etc. You should also be able to climb stairs to some extent. Many thanks to the staff, who were extremely friendly despite the extreme influx of visitors.

The location of Knoblauchhaus, near other historic landmarks and attractions, makes it a convenient addition to any sightseeing itinerary in Berlin. The informative audio exhibits offer valuable insights into the lives of the Knoblauch family and the societal context of their time. It's a fascinating opportunity to learn about Berlin's cultural, social, and economic history.

Great little upper middle class house which you can visit for free in the Nikolaiviertel. Gives you a sense of a particular "contemplative" and sober period in German history.

Absolutely worth seeing little museum. Biedermeier style home of the Knobloch family. Vivid depiction of Berlin life at that time. Also very competent leadership. Also for the whole family. Located in the Nikolaiviertel, there is even more to discover here. For bargain hunters: free entry on museum Sunday.

Small museum, with beautiful old furniture and crockery. Since I'm not that good on foot at the moment, I could only go up to the 1st floor. We went further up via a spiral staircase and my companion was thrilled with the rooms upstairs.

Really interesting to listen to the audio guide, it goes step by step through the museum explaining many curiosities about the family and the era. If you like the history of that time in Berlin, this is your place. By the way, admission is free.

(Translated by Google) In the middle of the Nikolaiviertel is one of the few original residential buildings in old Berlin. A museum can be found there, which shows the living and living conditions at the time of the Biedermeier period. This is done with a lot of love and commitment. Unfortunately, this museum is easily overlooked from the outside and a little more attention would be desirable. In addition, it is open every day except Mondays and entry is free. (Donation is gladly accepted). This is a remarkable exception for such an interesting exhibition in Berlin. Definitely a recommendation, not only for tourists.

(Translated by Google) Beautiful home of a bourgeois family from Berlin who worked in the textile sector. The history of the various generations and of marriage / commercial ties is known. There remains, however, a doubt: from the names of the Knoblauch (Samuel) and from the assignments (design of the great Synagogue) it would seem to be a Jewish family. I did not find confirmation of how they experienced the period of racial persecution.
