The
credit
card
reader
wasn't
working
when
we
arrived,
so
they
wouldn't
let
us
check
in,
even
though
our
room
was
fully
prepaid.
I
realize
that
sometimes
computers
fail,
but
they
had
no
authority
or
contingency
plan
to
care
for
guests
in
such
an
event.
After
a
few
computer
reboots,
we
finally
checked
in.
The
room
was
relatively
clean,
although
the
bathroom
sink
was
caked
with
some
kind
of
residue
(toothpaste,
makeup?).
There
was
a
sign
by
the
elevator
that
stated
that
they
don't
have
housekeeping,
so
if
you
need
anything
like
an
extra
towel
or
pillow,
you
have
to
come
down
in
person
and
ask
for
it.
That
also
left
me
wondering
who
cleans
the
rooms.
This
wasn't
the
worst
hotel
I've
ever
stayed
in,
and
I
wasn't
expecting
The
Ritz-Carlton,
but
it
definitely
had
the
vibe
of
one
of
those
places
that
would
turn
you
away
and
make
you
sleep
outside
because
of
something
that
was
their
fault.
