Great little spot to walk along the water or on the trail off from the beach. Lots of people out fishing. The beach to the left of the parking lot was full of trash and huge metal rings and metal pieces sticking out of the sand, not well maintained at all. The other part of the beach was better but still lots of garbage. The coolest part was the shells where you can write a message on and also some awesome shells and rocks on the beach itself. There are picnic tables and restrooms but they do not have soap dispensers in them which is very odd.

The ongoing pandemic has definitely taken a toll on lot of businesses and public places since a consumer mindset to buy anything outside of essential or to visit a public place like a park or beach, has crippled down significantly. Now by living with it has become the new normal, it is commendable on how these businesses and public places continue to remain open and cater to the general public by following the safety standards. We wanted to find some place for a nice evening walk and ran into this in Google maps. It was a 30 minute drive from our place, to get here. The parking had a lot of spaces and wasn’t too busy. We took a nice walk by the beach. The beach was closed by fences in a lot of places warning on the high lead content the water would contain. The roads, children play area and the side gardens were well maintained. Most of the people were weary of the pandemic and wore masks, but not everyone. The overall distance would be a good 2 mile walk that was not hard and was enjoyable to do by the bay.

I was looking for a local spot to spend some time by the beach and found this park on Google maps. It's beautiful enough when you get here, how can you go wrong with an ocean and good weather. However, the moment I saw the EPA hazard sign that you can see in the photos, it was like finding a hair in a five-star restaurant. Turned me off to this park completely and I just left. They need to clean up their act.

Beautiful place to see the sun rise. You can access the water and gather some pebbles, however, this isn't your typical beach. Free parking nearby for a few cars.

I bring my dog down here to walk along the water because it is nearby and a nice place to go. On a clear day you can see the top of the NYC skyline. There are also a few piers where you can go fishing as well as a playground for children. There are two basketball courts by the parking lot. I just go for the scenic walk along the water on the boardwalk and down on the sand so I can’t comment on the condition of the other parts but the walk and view is nice.

Not a typical beach . Long winding boardwalk with a strip of sand . The sound of the waves rolling is tranquil. Would not recommend swimming here with much better beaches nearby . ( Sandy Hook, Sea Bright, Belmar, Sea Girt). Small park / picnic area connected.

Place is beautiful. But DO NOT go near the water. There is a public health hazard board. The water has lead in it. We can see it very clearly in the water. It is stinky as well. The walk bridge is dirty. The walk path is good. There is a nice park for kids, which looks very well maintained. There is another beach at the end of walkpath. Same lead issue There also. I could see people still playing and fishing in the water.

Actually it's in Lawrence Harbor, I stop here early am, on my way home from work. Calm bay waters, not alot of distraction that early, I love taking sunrise pics. The walk path is paved, and quite long, you could take it all the way down to Sandy hook.

Quite impressed with this waterfront park with its several piers jutting into the water, boardwalk and beach trails, playground and other amenities. Free parking is welcome difference from neighboring Jersey shore towns. Couple of hiking trails start from gazebo area. It would have been 5 stars review if not for lead contamination of sand and water that caused parts of the beach to be fenced out…

Great place for a walk or jog. About .70/mile from the parking lot to a paved path to the boardwalk, about 1.40 miles round trip. Great waterfront views and beautiful wildlife and wildflowers along the way. Heavenly scent of honeysuckle in June. Right off Rt 35. Free parking. Recommended.

I have Many memories here with my mom and son.. It helps me greave when I visit this place now that she is gone.. It's peaceful and there's plenty of space to walk jog or run.. Find the sea shells on the fence and you will see I'm not the only one who makes this place a special space to visit.

I don’t know what happened but this place was not as pretty as the photos I’ve seen. It’s right by the police station, I don’t know if it was just flooded or if GPS brought me to the wrong spot but dang.

Really nice place to take young children, there is a play area that they will enjoy. People of all ages enjoy walking or bicycling along the boardwalk. There are multiple fishing piers to use and a bait and tackle shop close to the park. Striped Bass, bluefish, and fluke are the most popular species to fish for.

Nice walking path, but pulled a tick off my dog.

Hard to know what to rate this. We went here looking for a beach. We probably hadn't read the reviews too much. The beach part is very small and turns out there was a big EPA sign saying not to swim or sit on the sand etc because of lead. So we left. There was a nice playground nearby and I think there's a walkway. We didn't look much at anything else.

Not bad overall. Hot great play ground for kids and some waterfront area to walk around. Once getting dark there is these tiny mosquitoes that eat you alive. Not good

This park is very nice. 3 piers to fish from and bait shop, handball and basketball court, a paves walkway. Parking is kinda tuff tho.

The park is perfect to see some sunsets. But may be isn't a good place to swim. I saw some people fishing there. It's a nice place to take a relax, there are a free parking lot.

👍 We liked the beach. Its connected with Veterans Memorial Park and has three parking spots. The 1st section is a kids park and a long boardwalk goes along with beach. But It doesn't let you to the waters. The second section is bigger parking from where you can walk to beach. Third is the veterans par...

👍👍 This is a green park with walking/biking trails close by, and an active community of park users, some with dogs. There are multiple fields for recreation, including baseball, and a track too. If head into the trails, keep an eye out for the teddy bears in the trees! I counted two (are there more?)....
