Nice indoor garden greenhouse strolling to relax amidst a myriad of tropical plants amd waterworks. Great way to take a break from a busy day of downtown shopping in Toronto. However, the outdoor park areas have become a tent city for the homeless and is not a safe or clean area for kids.

Was really nice, quite warm (it's a green house so makes sense). Didn't cost a thing, was totally FREE! The gardens have three halls. The walking path is not always wide and accessible ♿, and there is only one bench to sit on (in the farthest garden). The vegetation in the garden is diverse and presented in a nice way. There are also turtles! Really loved it 💕

One of the most beautiful and special corners of Toronto! The Allan Garden Botanivo is a greenhouse garden with a diversity of incredible plants and flowers! It has two entrances: the first is access to the side of the church and in front of the playground, and the second is the entrance to the dog park area. The building is currently under renovation, so it is not possible to walk from end to end in the central part, but using the two entrances you can see a lot of species. It has an accessible entrance for wheelchair users and people with low physical mobility. The garden has a fountain with some carp and a second fountain with some turtles (be careful when walking, as they roam the garden). The tour is worth it and is free. Easy access from the College subway station.

Wow! Such a beautiful greenhouse! Just as good as others that I have had to pay $15 to enter...this one's free!! It's very big with many different sections that have all sorts of beautiful plants + Koi Fish and turtles!! The main building is super pretty and they're doing renovations right now to make it even better.

no matter what season outside, it's always summer here. I just love this place. so happy to see it reopened after a very long Covid -19 closure. there are some renovations under way now, so part of the greenhouse is not available (sadly including the washrooms). it is free and opened 7 days a week. a few benches inside which is wonderful. it tends to be super busy on the weekends so try to visit during the week if you can. Keep in mind that it is not the most savoury part of the city and you might encounter some interesting characters around the greenhouse, but they usually mind their own business. if you miss connection with fauna, you can connect with turtles, fish and an occasional squirrel. the place is really well maintained, there are always beautiful flowers. Lovely cacti in the north part.

Truly a breathtaking experience. Entry here is free which is a bonus. We went on a Saturday at noon, which made me think that the place would be really busy, but it wasn't! There wasn't a line to get in. No proof of vaccination needed for entry, just stay masked the whole time.

I can't find nicer words to explain how magical this place is! The staff is super helpful and really welcoming. Loved every second of this trip. Don't hesitate to pay Allan Gardens a visit. Nobody could stay stressed inside. Just sit by the bridge and watch the water-wheel and turtles forever. ❤️

Free to public. Masks 😷 are a must and should be causeit is in a glasshouse. Allan Gardens conservatory is a pleasant cozy contained colourful winter indoors display. Exotic greens and various cacti. Couple of water features one has Gold fish and the other had tiny turtles. Paid Parking lots are within few minutes walking distance. Weird entrance, but just follow the entrance signs It takes about 45 minutes to watch and have photos. Unless you are into botany it would take more to find the signs read and observe.

I came here on the final day of my plant biology course, and it was an amazing time. There were so many cool looking plants, and flowers, including some that I didn't even think I'd see in Canada (like the papaya or the Dutchman's pipe). This is a great place to go to, to see all kinds of spectacular floral displays you might not be able to see anywhere else - and the best part is that it's free!

Free indoor botanical gardens with different sections for different plants. I love coming here for a relaxing afternoon. Unfortunately their open hours are not that long. Currently some sections are under renovation, so much of it is closed. Overall very well maintained!

Nice place in middle of Downtown for tourists and locals. In the beautiful cast-iron and glass building is too much hot in the summer, winter time it is better for visiting. They have nice collection of tropical plants. Visitor can see turtles and fishes as well.

The gardens are beautiful and it's plenty warm inside. Is it worth taking a trip specifically for it? You'll be done walking around in 30 minutes at most, especially now after they closed the palm house for renovations. Still, if you happen to be in the area or live in downtown, it's worth making a stop. It's free and the gardener was very friendly to answer inquiries.

Looks like some part of the conservatory is under renovation. Not much to see compare to the website they shown. No tickets required. There is a park as well. Not very clean area and occupied with quite a lots of tents with the less fortunate people staying there.

Such a gem ✨ in the heart of City! The Allan Gardens are a lovely green place. It's a great area in the city to get in contact with a little bit of nature, and it's free to enter! The place is quiet in the mornings and till midday, unless there are some rowdy folks around! Perfect spot on a few benches to sit and read, or walk slowly through and enjoy the greenery.

I was visiting from our of town and was in unaware that the main entrance was closed due to construction on the building. The homeless people were kind enough to steer me in the right direction, as they were hanging out in front of the main entrance. It is a bit small in comparison to other green houses I've been to, but lovely nonetheless. I loved the turtles in the little pond.

It was a great hour spent in a very cute well maintained little garden. There were a lot of turtles and you could stay there and watch them forever. They stacked up and it was very interesting. There were a variety of plants and they were beautiful and worth the visit. The back park was filled with homeless people tho so maybe just stay out of that area.

A little FREE gem of green in Toronto. A donatesd facility now run by the city of Toronto. Presently Two large greenhouses open and accessible from different spots (as construction/renovation happening in middle ). Loved the little collection of painted turtles!! Varieties of succulents were astounding. Take an afternoon to stroll through this gardens. Apparently there are a variety of children’s and adult program too!! Finish your visit with a coffee and sweet at Bulldog Cafe !!

A lovely place to go on a chilly day and enjoy a warm little reprieve from the wind! Love all the tropical plants in here was a nice little treat to stumble across these gardens on our walk around Toronto. My favourite was the aloe Vera that looked like a big tree or the papaya. Recommend checking out of you are in the area.

Many things to see (banana plant, dragon fruit plant, many turtles, fish, flowers, coffee plant etc..). HIGHLY recommend visiting. FREE to visit! No wait times, was able to go in right away. No ticket needed. Open from 10am - 5pm. Many volunteers present and are very knowledgeable & friendly. There's 2 different sections to visit! The rest is still under construction. Took around 35 min to check it all out (took my time).

You find turtles roaming around one of the gardens. They have several tropical trees like papaya, and coffee plant. In the other conservatory you find many types of cactus from Mexico and Africa. Lots of flowers, some are wild flowers from Central America. It's a relaxing place. It's also quite humid and bearable hot where the turtles are.

A fantastic experience to behold within downtown Toronto that is suitable for any nature enthusiast or anyone look for an immersive experience amongst different flora. It's hard to say no to an experience with free admission to the public. There are several different plants to observe within the gardens In addition, a plethora of turtles roaming around -- what's not to love! Recommended to bring a water bottle with you into the gardens as it can get quite warm inside, especially in summer.

Beautiful garden! Such a nice breath of fresh air in the city. The plants were all so well taken care of and vibrant. The volunteer was so helpful, giving us directions and letting us know where to find the different plants. The highlight for us was the turtles. There were so many!! We spent a solid ten minutes just admiring them. Will definitely be back!

Mixed Experience at Allan Gardens Allan Gardens itself is a charming botanical oasis in the heart of Toronto. The diverse collection of plants and flowers is impressive, and the conservatory is well-maintained, offering a pleasant escape from the city's hustle and bustle. However, it's important to note that the immediate area outside the garden is a bit concerning. The atmosphere feels less safe, especially after dark. This can detract from the overall experience and may be a concern for some visitors. While I appreciate the beauty within Allan Gardens, the surrounding environment warrants attention. It's a three-star experience for me due to this external factor.

Maybe first time here in a super long time! Came during covid19 but stage 3 of reopening so my guest and I were able to enter the greenhouses. Tons of plants and flowers! Experience was dampened due to a wedding party attempting to take some pics so we had to wait and work around this, although it would have made more sense to do the photo shoot off hours so regular people can enjoy the gardens without being rushed. I would probably return amd i highly recommended to those who have not been.

I went here as part of a walking tour. It is a very well maintained and beautiful indoor botanical garden. It has different wings for Tropical plants, cacti, flowers... it is great for kids to learn what fruit trees actually look like. You can also buy small indoor plants from the nursery. I bought a mini cactus.

At the corner of Sherbourne Street and Carlton street nestled in a beautiful garden is this conservatory.Full of tropical plants, cactus and succulents, its an oasis in downtown Toronto. All round the year the garden gets a new decor according to various themes like Mums festival. Spring/ Easter, Holiday spirit and decor. Backed by an army of volunteer, the garden organizes various evens for children. All through summer the children’s corner is buzzing with activities. Must visit if you are in the area.Check the pics taken during the Christmas time. Most beautiful and serene.

Amazing botanical garden! There are four large rooms that have lots of beautiful and unique plants, many of which I have never seen before. They also have a small ponds where there are fish and turtles! The rooms can get quite warm, which is normal with greenhouses. It is a short walk to the subway and entrance is free. The only downside is they don’t have a washroom.

Overall it's great because of the location and the people but it can also be a mixed bag. The one piece of advice I would give is that you are the only one who is responsible for your dogs and no one else will look out for them. Dog fights happen often and there are plenty of dogs that don't have skills to socialize with others dogs in big groups. So watch your dogs and be ready to deescalate situations. If you keep that in mind you'll be fine.

This park would be better if it was safer but it's never been safe... Even back in the 70s when I attended Jarvis collegiate a kid was killed at night on his way home.... The beautiful indoor garden is it's only positive feature otherwise it's a dump that is home to bums and drug addicts... The dog park is the second best feature as I'm sure local residents like to take their pets... Needs better lighting and more enforcement for safety

Probably the best "free" place in all of Toronto, in all the province, in all the nation, in all the hemisphere. Two things are true. I am really happy everytime I visit here. Two. I am really sad when I have to leave. Right now they are under renovation. Entry through the west side parking lot. If you are visiting Toronto, and need a free place to hang out this place is the best. Very high variety species and healthy plants. FYI supplies city gardens and boulevards with flowers all over the city. Its a working greenshouse. Another bonus is that in this neighborhood every property owner is into gardening, and they do a great job. walk around the twelve city blocks around this facility.

I mostly go to Allen Gardens for the dog park and the property is really beautiful. There are occasionally events that happen in the park and they are always well done. It is sort of a downtown hub where people who live in the downtown community gather, socialize or just relax. Only thing I would say is be careful at night just like any other park in the city but particularly downtown.

Winter: it’s warm and cosy, a great place to step into to shelter from the cold. You’re greeted with numerous beautiful flowers and bright colours. Summer: you get to see a lot more fruit-bearing plants with actual fruit (first time seeing a papaya on a tree!), but can get a little too warm on a hot day. Beautiful oasis in the middle of Toronto. Flowers are beautiful and kids enjoyed counting turtles. Even found flies in "Venus fly traps"

Such a beautiful place to go for a stroll if you're in the area. The staff here are so friendly and informative too! Can't wait to go back soon.

A nice one way walk since its reopening and such a relaxing place to just look at the array of plantings. Turtles and fish too!

Wonderful dog park, we use the small dog one when dog sitting. Great place to socialize your dogs. They have a water fountain in the big dog park, but not in the small so be sure to take some water along!

This, for a couple of gardening enthusiasts was a real treat. A really good set of hothouses with an extensive and well-maintained range of exotic plants. We visited on a Saturday morning at the end of September, and the gardens outside were just about over for flowers, but would be well worth a visit earlier in the year, even if the fabulous hothouses weren't there.

If you have a little time on your hands and enjoy flowers and plants, head over to Allan Gardens. It's close to the College Street subway stop, so it's easy to get to. It's a calm oasis at any time of the year. The flowers/plants on display change throughout the year, and it's located in a lovely old glass conservatory.

Great dog park, only rating 4 out of 5 due to the lack of owners paying attention to their dogs. The park it's self is large with a small dog area and a big dog area. Small dog area is generally chill, lots of huskies at the park in the big dog area. Sand pit type of park.

Great place to enjoy waking with your dog unfortunately my dog is aggresive toward big dogs but he likes the park especially in the early a.m. because he's running without a leash

An absolutely beautiful hidden gem right in the middle of the city! I have no idea how I haven't been until now! There are several different rooms with a variety of different plant species, even a few rooms with Koi fish and another habitat with Turtles! Added to the beautiful array of nature, (and it is oh so beautiful) is the architecture that you also get to marvel in, don't forget to look up while in the dome room! The cherry ontop is that this whole experience is absolutely free! You have no excuse not to visit!

Truly a breathtaking experience. Entry here is free which is a bonus. We went on a Saturday at noon, which made me think that the place would be really busy, but it wasn't! There wasn't a line to get in. No proof of vaccination needed for entry, just stay masked the whole time.

This place is so so so pretty!!! 😭 I wish I lived inside, the plants are taken care of so well and its perfect for those macro nature photos. If you're ever on a nature photography hunt this is the place to go

it’s very enjoying to see this much greenery and colour while it’s cold yet and snow all around. there is no indoor washroom (so far at least). There are those blue boxes outside instead for use. That’s a negative point and hopefully they can think of a way to have a clean accessible one.

Truly a spectacular greenhouse! Wow, I could go there every day! Beautiful collection of plants, it's open everyday, and I also cannot believe that the entrance is free. If you need some quiet time surrounded by greenery and floral heaven, then this is the place!

Great variety of plants from all over the world! It's beautiful to see how they would grow and thrive in their(simulated) natural environment. Great visit for the whole family!

Pleasant experience! An escape from the busy city. All kinds of plants/flowers/trees. The turtles were so cool to see as well. Every city should have one of these!

Admission was free but it was completely empty when we went in. There was only 2 sections and not much to see. We came here with high expectations as this place has been highly recommended but we were disappointed. The park outside is filled with tents and very crowded. We stayed for 15 minutes to look at the flowers and plants then left.

The property has a playground, off-leash dog park and an indoor botanical garden. The greenhouses has a good collection of plants from around the world. Admission is free.

It's smaller than I expected, but I enjoy strolling in gardens no matter the size and quantity of flowers. If you're looking for a little spot to unwind, this place is great!

Thats a nice place, run by the city and volunteers. I have donated a plant here, they have a greenhouse that can hold tropical plants. My donation ( An Azwa date plant, germinated following safe, hygienic practices) got appreciated here, hope kids in our locality will get to know about a tropical plant thats not available in Canada.

The staff has done so beautifully on the Christmas decorations this year! My favorite theme is in the cooler fish pond house. I love all the pink and green! Of course the turtle's are always such a gift. Watching them sunbathe and piling up on top of each other. I enjoy the turtle yoga and seeing them yawn is just too cute.
