WOW! That's the first word that comes to mind after enjoying a delicious breakfast at Fran's. We are visiting the city for a few days and I was looking for a breakfast spot near our hotel. Fran's did not disappoint. Portion sizes are very large, the food tastes great and the staff were super polite. We went on a Monday morning and it wasn't too busy. Service was fast and we were eating within 5 to 10 minutes. We will definitely visit again, thank you!

Best Frans I have ever been to. There used to be another one as good as this location, but not anymore. This is now the go to place. The food is always done to perfection. The service is always fast, friendly, and professional. I will be definitely coming here often. Highly recommended. Compliments to the chef.

Yummy comfort food at affordable price. After a long day in the hospital, I was craving some spinach feta cheese omelette. Placed a take-out order by phone at 4:30; picked up my food at 5:00 expeditiously. Staff was super respectful and appreciative of the work I do. Entire process was smooth, and the food was phenomenal. Will definitely be back.

I have always been a huge fan of Frans Restaurant. Personally, my favourite location is the one at College. This is a strong second. The location is decently sized without being too overwhelming. The food is always consistently tasty and hot. The service is very quick. Usually, the wait staff are very pleasant. I have gotten the odd person who seems to be having not the greatest day. It’s never been bad enough to lower my rating. I really recommend Fran’s for a casual break, lunch, dinner, or (my fave!) breakfast for dinner.

Stopped in for lunch. Never been to this location but if was anything like the other then it should be good! Wait staff attentive and friendly. Many of the customers the staff knew by name l. I ordered a strawberry shake to start. It arrived in the stainless cup, but was not full, I would have expected there to be more but after trying it, the taste made me focus less on the quantity and more so on the deliciousness! I ordered fish & chips and my lunch arrived very quickly. Two sizeable pieces of haddock which I was impressed with. Very good batter, crispy like how I like it. Thick as well. Fries were good with some malt vinegar and the coleslaw was perfect, creamy and as if they just shredded it. A very good experience and the staff were excellent, dropping by my table to ensure if everything was to my liking. I’ll definitely be back.

Loved our time dining in here last weekend with my mom and 14 month old son. The service was amazing - the ladies were sooooo sweet with my son, he loved his breakfast and attention. Food was good, I’d definitely recommend for a family and will come again soon :)

Setting: Looks much like an older Dennys or American diner. Service: Kind waitress and attentive to any needs. Food: Large portions for a fair price. Everything tasted good. Nothing that will wow you but you will leave full and satisfied.

The food is average, and since it was a late night pick-up, I wouldn’t prefer coming again as it was a bit disappointing. Wouldn’t recommend for pickups or late dine-ins as food will get soggy & cold. Our order- chocolate chips waffle, vegetarian sausage meal or something.

Dropped by Fran's for a bite before Nuit Blanche. The server was exceptionally friendly and welcoming (forgot her name but she's the Vietnamese lady). My friend and I ordered the Original Shepherd's Pie, Chicken Fingers (tossed in BBQ sauce), and a side of fried mozzarella Cheese Sticks. The Shepherd's Pie was good but not great--it had a wonderful combination of textures from the ground meat and creamy mashed potatoes but lacked flavour (luckily some salt and pepper did the trick!). Ironically, I found the side of vegetables to be a bit over-seasoned lol. The Chicken Fingers were good--crispy with a nice tangy BBQ sauce on the outside, tender on the inside. Cheese Sticks were decent. The atmosphere was nice and cozy with the classic Fran's decor. Overall, a good vintage Toronto diner.

Really good breakfast food. We both had "The Big Breakfast" and really enjoyed it. We were also able to sit outside which is a huge plus for me. Staff were really friendly and prices were also pretty reasonable! Only negatives were: 1. No real maple syrup, and 2. the table top was broken causing it to shift around any time we put weight on it.

Two-Egg traditional gives a huge, delicious portion of a classic breakfast. It’s also only $10.99 for such a large portion of food, which is so worth it! The eggs were freshly cooked, light and fluffy. The home fries were crispy, not soggy, but had the perfect softness to them. The sausage was delicious—flavourful but not too salty. I usually eat my eggs and home fries with the ketchup, and that was amazing as well. The waiter was also very kind to us, and I especially am grateful considering it was super late at night. PLEASE COME HERE!! It’s amazing. Best spot to get all day breakfast!

Although we arrived at about 10:20pm, the waitperson was very attentive and had our meal ready promptly prepared. We had just finished at the Emergency department at St.Mike’s on a Sunday and wanted a quick bite before going home. It had been a very long day, and we did not have time for any food. We were so happy that Fran’s was able to serve us! We were famished! The food tasted homemade, and cooked so perfectly. My partner had a Western Omelette and I had an Avacado BLT 🥪- yummy. We’ll come back - the food was superb!

Came here for breakfast on a Sunday morning with a few people, and the service was great. The food is very well priced for the portion size, and the food comes out pretty quick once ordered. The quality of the food is good. This is definitely a great place for dining at any time of the day since they’re open 24/7 and they have a lot of options to choose from for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

I came for breakfast. I ordered the Canadian Benedictine plate. Because of my allergy to fish and seafood, the breakfast potatoes were not accessible to me because they are fried in the same oil. The cook have prepared homemade potatoes exclusively for me and it was very much appreciated. The waitress was very nice and the service was very fast. I enjoyed my experience very much. I'm giving 4 stars because a second fryer for people like me with allergies would appreciate the place even more. p.s: The carrot cake is very good too.

A 24/7 diner spot with really great service and good diner classics. Fran’s diner has been around FOR YEARS and is a Toronto gem. This spot features diner classics and does it well. Their menu includes all day breakfast, sandwiches, cheap drinks and milkshakes. I enjoyed the grilled chicken and apple club sandwich i ordered. It was stacked and tasty. This was a great spot to stop by after a show at the Ed Mirvish theatre and was a very satisfying meal. I did enjoy the hospitality and how friendly our server was. If I was ever in the area again and looking for a late night spot i totally would drop by. The food wasn’t mind blowing but for the price point and the diner vibe that I personally adore I would come back. I left satisfied and very full and sometimes that’s all you really need.

We had Steak and Eggs plus Waffles with Chicken. We probably came at a peak time, line-up was quite a wait plus some lapses in service like food being served with no cutlery. The food was great and enjoyed the bottomless coffee. Thank you!

We had breakfast here on a Sunday morning. The service was fast and polite, the food was good, and the prices were fair. It’s a busy place for good reason. One of the best diner experiences I’ve had in Toronto. We had the Big Breakfast and the Chorizo Sausage Hash. Both were great. Highly recommend this Toronto staple.

Fran's is one of my favourite places to eat in TO. I love the ambience and the extensive menu, which is moderately priced. It's always a joy to see the exterior of Massey Hall when visiting this location as well. My server on this visit was exceptionally friendly and they were able to seat me immediately on a Sunday around 1pm. Although I've always been happy with my meals at Fran's, I found the plating for the chicken and waffles sort of small and sad looking. It was tasty tho and I did enjoy the pie.

Fantastic portions for breakfast, I can only imagine for the rest of the meals. Price was very reasonable considering what other places charge. Very happy I decided to go here. Coffee was amazing, that's how I judge a place mostly. Love the old style look of the place, atmosphere was cozy, didn't feel rushed to get me out.

OK breakfast. Tater tots were nice and crispy. My Eggs Benedict didn't have a runny egg yolk, more like a boiled egg sitting on top. Was a bit disappointed in that. Still satisfied my breakfast craving though. Good location near Eaton Centre.

The food was pretty good . The ribs had a good flavour and meat on them . The chicken flavour was good too. But the cake was overpriced. The carrot cake cost $8.95 for a slice of it. The waiter was nice she attentive to detail . The portions were good . Overall 7.5/10. The location is good it’s near eaton centre . It’s open late too so that’s nice . It also has all day breakfast. They have a lot of options to choose from the menu .

Wow I was surprised that this restaurant was super good! We have waited for a while to get in, seems like they‘ve been super busy since 5am. Lots of ppl and the restaurant was pretty crowded but their service was super good. After we got the table and everything just went fast and smooth. We also didn’t wait for long time to get our food, which was a plus. Love the servers, they were nice and friendly! Fast service too! The food we got was steak and eggs and corn beef Benedict. Both were super tasty! The price was decent too. Def wanna go back sometimes!

Such a warm and cozy place for brunch. Love the decorations inside. Really felt like the brunch from home. The Mushroom Benedict tasted so soft and juicy. Really amazed by the croissant omelet when they included the croissant inside the egg, what a great combination! You get a large portion with a good price. Friendly staff.

What you expect from a 24 hour diner- greasy, high calorie food delivered to your table fast. Nothing special in terms of food, or service but a fun retro vibe if you are looking for a quick bite.

Food: My spouse had the two-egg traditional breakfast with farmer's sausage and soft-poached eggs, which was delicious, with everything cooked and seasoned to perfection. The home fries were spectacular but we were given sufficient quantity for probably three people (!) with her meal. I had the banana waffle which was wonderfully light and fluffy, served with fresh fruit. We each also had coffee and orange juice; the coffee was very strong, nearly pitch black, and exactly what one would want from 24/7 diner. Service: Perfect. Prompt and friendly; not super personal but that's exactly what we wanted anyway. Atmosphere: Slightly generic but comfortable nonetheless; not too loud or to crowded when we went (~9am on a Sunday).

Fran’s is probably one of the best places in the city to grab breakfast. Whether you’re craving it at 10am or 10pm, the service is amazing at all times of the day. The Maple Leaf breakfast is my personal favourite, and their coffee is surprisingly really good for a casual diner! Truly one of Toronto’s gems that’s open late!

Food was incredible, service was very quick and polite, and it’s a very nice and homey place to be for lunch. My wife got the Chicken Parm with pasta and I got the Fran’s Meatloaf. Both incredible dishes and worth a try if you haven’t been. Also very conveniently located next to the mall the have fun before or after your meal.

met a friend for lunch here today and the restaurant was lively. even with most of the tables filled up and staff moving around constantly, a server kindly greeted and welcomed me. noticed that the service was generally pretty quick, which was great since we were on a bit of a time crunch. i ordered fran’s energy breakfast and my friend got the nachos please (added homemade chili). i didn’t get to try my friend’s order (again, we were in a rush), but my meal was alright. the egg was big, but the slice of ham was very thin (could barely taste it) and the homemade fries were mid (not the best i’ve ever had). overall, the service was great (attentive and energetic, despite how busy and chaotic it was), but i probably won’t order the same meal again (for that price at least).

Perfect "homey" healthy comfort food, perfect atmosphere - and exceptionally perfect staff! Hostess dealt with patience, grace and efficiency with a massive influx of customers pouring in after a show. Servers were sweet, natural, personable and amazing in so many ways. Somehow balanced sharing personal anecdotes without seeming rushed - yet keeping up with serving tables simultaneously. Thank you, Frans, for providing a perfect closing to a great night out for me and my dear friend. I wish I knew the names of the staff so that I could personally commend them here.

Ordered for take out at the bar, got the 5 cheese Mac and the chilli. Service was very fast and food came out in under 15 minutes despite things looking busy in there. Mac and cheese was so good devoured in under 10 min. Unfortunately the chilli was not the best - carrots and celery pieces were too big and not cooked enough, didn’t end up finishing it. I will go back to try the meatloaf as it’s a big menu and I know not everything is gonna be a winner.

Had an enjoyable time to end by birthday weekend in Toronto. The food tasted great! I had the big breakfast and tomato soup. They both tasted great! Service was amazing. The warm Philippina woman was so nice and gracious.

Honestly I would give this place a 3.5 and it can potentially be a 4 but we may need to order something different next time. My other half ordered chicken and waffles and the batter was different than what we expected, similar to fish and chips. My eggs benedict was good, but barely tasted the pea-meal bacon, almost forgot it was a part of it. Home fries was hot and yummy. Can’t go wrong with bottomless coffee! ☕️ Really cute decor with the retro vibes and ruby glittery chairs!

Fran's is a Toronto staple. They offer ample portions at very reasonable prices. This is very much a classic diner experience from the decor to the home-like feel of the cooking. You won't get mind-blowing cuisine, but you will receive a consistently tasty breakfast and great service! This is a good place to go with friends as even though the restaurant capacity is quite large, the relative separation of the booths makes it easy to converse. There are options throughout the menu to fit any dietary restrictions your party may have.

Such a great classic spot for lunch or a meal at anytime of the day. Consistent dishes at great prices. And an extra special shout out goes to our server Levi for his exceptional customer service!!

Party of three had a satisfying early supper here. Seated very quickly at 4:30. Pretty busy even though it was early for an evening meal. Has a true diner feel and our server was great. Healthy portions and not overly pricey. Reuben big enough to bring the second half home. Liver and onions could have used more onions but veggies were very good.

Finally tried Fran’s breakfast and it was amazing. I had the chorizo (chorizo, hash and onions) scramble with scrambled eggs, home fries and rye toast. The chorizo scramble was amazing I could have that with anything (salad, rice, pasta, bun) the home fries were super fresh and crispy, the eggs were delicious and the toast was good (a little crunchier than I like but good). The coffee was good too. The service was great and restaurant was clean and homey. Will definitely return and strongly recommend!

The food is okay. The restaurant is great for convenience, but doesn't provide much further than that [Food] I ordered a big breakfast. It came with eggs, pancakes, toast, bacon, and a ton of potatoes. The size stayed true to its name but the meal quality was unimpressive [Service] I had to wait a while to make my order, but everything else was good [Atmosphere] A staple dinner decor.

Frans is an awesome classic diner. Great food, good prices. Milkshake and all day breakfast is always a favourite for me. Used to be 24 hours before covid. Had many a late night meal there. Would give 6 stars.

Why would anyone anything but breakfast food? This location has more of a modern vibe than its College street twin, but same consistency food wise. I only find the service here a little less organized, and the syrup hits different when it’s not coming from that sticky Frans bottle. Bring back the bottles!

So i was left with deception when i went and order a salmon salad! I ordered one time before few months ago and it was Steak and egg medium rare. I was so surprised my food was amazing. The steak perfectly cooked! So i went last night by foot as im 300m away. I taught maybe the salmon would be fresh and i would enjoy it like the steak. First bite i knew it was a bad idea. Frozen salmon and i really think it was cooked and freezed. It made no sense the salmon was so dry I couldn’t finish it. The salad itself was ok. Pretty easy to misse. But all together a waste of money. And money is precious now. So i had at least ordered a steak again that saved my dinner time. Do not spend any money on seafood there at this point i was sad. A place open for 80 years! Can make a simple grilled salmon salad.........Stick to the steak and eggs. They mastered that.

Great food. Had the waffle with bacon and eggs, and the french toast breakfast. Pancakes were so yummy and there is something on those hashbrowns that made them the most flavorful, crispy, well-cooked hashbrowns I've ever had. Lots of food. Good value. Cute decor, like a 50's diner. Walkable if you're staying downtown. Not an easy place to park though.

Wasn't expecting anything much when I went there to grab breakfast for takeaway to! Hotel room. The steak benedict was amazing! Well made steaks to my request and spot on Benedict eggs on buns. Great and generous portion of home fries and some Asparagus and fruit to garnish. Well done Fran! 😍😍😍

Is this restaurant take only one payment per table all the time? We were 4 people and we couldn't pay separately. the waitress didn't take order nor check what we need at the beginning and she rushed to clean up the table at the end. We were not happy with her behavior but the rest of waitresses and waiters were very kind to refill our coffees. However the egg Benedicts were good 👍
