Cozy little pizza spot for some pizza and drinks. Their location isn't very big but a nice atmosphere. The staff was very attentive, helpful and nice. The classic pizza options like the pepperoni were perfect. Pro tip: get the beef hear tartar pizza and eat the pizza normally and then spread the tartar on the crust for a extra little treat. Their prices are tips included which is a model I wish more restaurants would adopt. Fair prices with generous portions. I can't recommend this place enough and will be visiting again.

I had been to the previous incarnation of Beast with my friend, and we needed to check out the new Beast, Beast Pizza. Love the new setup and decor, clean, bright, busy as one would expect on a late Saturday afternoon, but we still had a spot at the bar. Stools were comfortable, hooks for your jacket/bag/purse, plugs to charge your phone under the bar. Staff were nice and friendly. I've got to say, they didn't disappoint with the food, which is no surprise because the Beast restaurant was top shelf. My dark and stormy was made with Goslings (the way it's intended), delicious. We ordered the mushroom pizza and the pepperoni (12"), my friend ordered the kimchi olives. The pizza was perfect, thin crust, toppings were just right, crust was just the right amount, couldn't have asked for better. One thing that caught my friend and I by surprise, there was no tip option on the debit terminal when we paid. We thought it was odd, we're always big on tipping, and so we asked the owner who was there about it. He explained to us how they are a "fair wage employer" so all of their staff make the same wage, from the dish washers, to the cooks, and the servers/bartenders, and guaranteed hours, all at a really great rate that surprised us. Well that was the first time either of us had encountered that and we thought it was amazing and hope that more employers take this route. Five stars (+1 bonus for the fair wage). Will recommend, will return. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rage against the Machine during $5 Happy Hour until 7 pm. Phenomenal texture pizza crust, just wish the tongue was softer and thicker, instead of crispy and 'well done'. Addictive (though slightly salty) fusilli alfredo, only $9.50 for appetizer size. Delicious sticky toffee pudding, only $4.50. Beautiful renovation of an old space. Tipping is not necessary because a fair wage is automatically included in the menu price. Can't wait to return for a full animal meal! It's hard to believe that a well-respected downtown Toronto restaurant can afford to charge these low, low prices in today's economy. Kind of makes you think about others' priorities and integrity, or at least math skills 😜

One of my favourite restaurants in the city for creative, delicious food + everyone there is absolutely lovely. Second whole animal dinner & both were phenomenal. They put a lot of work into each course literally Michelin level cooking. Pictures are for Elk very adventurous.

You know when you’re walking up a random street and can’t believe your friends there’s a restaurant down there and even more so that there’s good food? This is exactly what beast is all about. Hands down this must be one of the best pizza places in Toronto and I’m not even exaggerating. We had mushroom and pistachio — melts in your mouth where it should and stays crispy and fresh. Can’t wait to go back! We also shared bone marrow which was also just fantastic!

Visited for brunch on a Sunday. It's more lunch than brunch. Would recommend coming early on opening to get a table. Atmosphere feels like a little house and hidden gem in the city. The food is very focused around meat which is great for the meat lover. Ordered the ace hill breakfast and bone marrow French toast. Food is good, a tad salty, but the service isn't great. Servers were not very pleasant or helpful. They did the bare minimum. We were a table of 6 and auto gratituty of 20% added, but not told to us.

Mmmm... An incredible local neighbourhood spot! I have been going to Beast for over 12 years now, and I'm glad to hear they've branched out into pizza! Great options for normally expected and unexpected adventurous pizzas, appetizers, beers, and wine. We ordered the Meatball pizza, Broccoli, and Bolognese Pasta. Everything was incredible. I absolutely love the crust on the pizza and the broccoli had a Thai seasoning and spice that was simple, but so perfect. The pasta was lovely too! They have a Pizza Crusher Lager and Bearface shot special for $10 and the shot comes in a little medicine cup. So cute! The place is really cute and cozy. It seats maybe 20 people max and has a nice quirky decor. This is for sure an iconic Toronto local business worth checking out and supporting!

Food Review: Beast Pizza If you have been following my pizza adventures, you know that I have been on a quest to find the very best pizza Toronto has to offer. And that is a tall order given the competitive nature of the Toronto food scene. On Saturday, I got a little bit closer to that realization by visiting Beast Pizza. And this place did not disappoint, lived up to all the hype. Now let’s talk Pete-zah. I knew I was going to love this place because there’s a sign that says – Pete-zah. How can you go wrong? The pizza looks like a giant loaf of Italian bread when it’s dropped on the table. On this particular night, we ordered: “The Meatball Pizza” (red sauce, mozzarella, fennel jam, and arugula), “What The Cluck” (sweet potato cream sauce, mozzarella and collard greens), and Philly Cheesesteak Pizza. It was the special of the night. There are several great appetizers on the menu however, we only ordered one, and that was the Maccheroni with Iberico Pork Bolognese – a house-made macaroni simmered in a tomato-based ragu with ground pork and vegetables. Each pizza was an absolute standout, my favorite being the Meatball, and the Philly Cheesesteak being a close second. The pizzas are quite deceiving. You think you are going to be biting into a large piece of bread and that’s your first holy cow moment. There are tons of air pockets in the dough which makes the pie look beast-like however, it’s like biting into a cloud. Tons of air pockets and space…pillowy soft. The toppings are perfectly matched and balanced for each pizza. You can understand why they don’t allow substitutions of any kind. Don’t even think of going to this place if you’re an artist and like to order your style pizza. This is not that kind of place. NO SOUP FOR YOU. The Philly Cheesesteak pizza was the evening's shocker. I’ve been to Philadelphia and there’s a fine art to assembling these things. If done properly, they are incredible. Seasoned steak, onions, green pepper and the right amount of liquid American cheese. I mean the cheese looks like a waste by-product of a nuclear facility however, it’s so good. And the geniuses at Beast somehow put the perfect cheesesteak on top of their pizza. It was so good. What The Cluck was not bad but did not leave a lasting impression like the other two. The pasta dish was okay, but not something I would order on a second visit. If you want pasta, head a few blocks north to Geary Avenue and get some fresh stuff with Bolognese. It’s epic. Now here’s the kicker. For me…and this is just me, the real surprise of the night was the atmosphere. This is a tiny place that has four tables in total and a bar that seats about 10. The place feels like a neighborhood pub colliding with a 1950s-style dinner. No hint of designer anything in this place, coupled with a very humble and pleasant staff. From one table, you have a bird’s eye view into the kitchen and all the characters at the bar – a couple of university guys about to do some food damage, a first date, and a regular. The vibe is almost Cheers-like. Everyone knows your name and if they don’t, they soon will. This stood out for me because Toronto does not celebrate what I would classify as a “Joint.” New York city and Chicago have tons of these places. And they celebrate these places. They film movies in these places (think the 1989 comedy/romance - When Harry Met Sally). Toronto’s oldest restaurant, The Senator did not survive the COVID lockdown, so we don’t have enough Joints. And this place is a Joint in every sense of the word. With great food, a creative chef, and a truly unique pizza product. So is this my favorite place? I’ve come to learn that this is a bad question to ask in Toronto because the variety of the variety of pizzas this city has to offer. Why limit yourself to one? Beast pizza is a mix between a New York-style pizza, the dough structure of a Neapolitan pizza, and a set of truly unique toppings. Give this place a try sometime. You won’t regret it.

Had the elk tasting menu, chose high adventure level and was not disappointed. The food was incredible, start to finish. The elk heart tartar and elk terrine were incredible starters. I loved the elk blood pasta and bolognese. And the elk tongue was simply melt in your mouth. Chef Nate and the other chefs assisting did a fantastic job creating the menu. The service was a delight and it's always nice sitting next to an open kitchen, being able to see what's happening and talk to the chefs. We will absolutely be back to sample a different protein. Highly recommend this tasting menu.

Amazing experience at beast pizza … where to begin, the food was amazing, so amazing that I forgot to take photos of most of it. The pasta, beet appetizer, and mushroom pizza were awesome a the chef came and chatted with us before and helped us make our decisions. Staff were so friendly, if felt like we were old friends .. loved the ambiance as well, the restaurant was recently renovated but it had an old vibe. One of my favourite things was the gum ball machine where you pay 15 dollars and get some random drink/shot or possibly pitcher of beer… super great experience and can’t wait to go back! Also the surprise at the end where you don’t tip because the restaurant pays all their employees a living wage which was really refreshing to see and makes you aware of how much they take care of their staff!

Fantastic neighborhood spot for pizza and other great eats. We had the 12-inch meatball pie, the smoked salmon pâté and a half dish of the boar maccheroni. Everything was excellent. The pizza crust was especially fantastic. Definitely a strong recommend if you're in the area.

Our neighbourhood just upped it's pizza game when I didn't think our local pizza joints could get any better. Beast Pizza has probably the best pizza dough I've ever had chewy and full of tangy flavour. We stuck with the straight up basic pepperoni pizza and I have no perfect words to describe how good it was. My only thing is I wish they had a few more basic toppings.

Just reopened as Beast Pizza. Some of the old favourites are still on the menu (bone marrow garlic bread) and they will do full animal meals but the focus is on the pizza. The pizza is very good. Got two pies; aloo gobi and beef tongue and pepperoni. Crust was perfect, crisp exterior but soft inside and chewy. Perfect for folding in half. Aloo was something different, and a really good veggie option. Pep and tongue was awesome, really nice sauce. Also got a garlic dip; a bit pricey but you get a lot and it is worth it. Lots of beers and wines to pick from but they do pitchers of Left Field, light and dark. Light is perfect for pizza and beer. Guy behind the bar was terrific, good tunes, clean and new and fun atmosphere. Very excited to grab a wheel in the summer on the patio. Final test is if the leftovers reheat well...

They have kimchi olives - a great portion (i love kimchi) Their appetizers (duck, pate, bone marrows) were all great tries. They have some great non-alcoholic options (such as non alcohol red wine) as well as amazing beer selection. Super great vibes, decors, outdoor patio available, amazing thoughtful menu, nice warm lovely neighborhood vibe Also they dont have tips (last time i was there)

Not sure what happened to my original review. Decided to leave another one here. This place rocks. Regular menu is sensational. No reservation. Cozy place. The other part is the full animal experience. You choose an animal. You book a table 7 days ahead of time. You pick us the difficulty of your final dish. You visit the joint and enjoy a meal from heaven. ❤️❤️

Cute cosy place for pizza. Tiny restaurant with not a lot of seating, but the pizza is reaaaally good. Perfect place to go to if you’re looking for a chill, casual spot for comfort food and live sports games.

The atmosphere was amazing. One of the greatest patio I been. The food was delicious as well but it was more on the oily side for me. Buratta pizza was dripping oil. The other dishes were great.

Enjoyed the pizza here. Really appreciated the unique take where the integrity of it being a pizza is kept but with a twist. Ordered the aloo gobi and chicken shawarma one. Between the two I preferred the chicken shawarma since the flavours had a better balance and Ioved the garlic. The aloo gobi was lacking some spice and flavour. Would definitely revisit— but I will mention that the service was lacklustre. Didn’t feel like there was enough explanation when we asked about the items on the menu. Also had a mistake with the receipt where there was an ask for it to be split a certain way and while it wasn’t overly complicated it wasn’t done correctly. That left a bit of a bad taste where a couple stars are knocked off here. Otherwise the food is 4/5.

Whomever decided to put cow tongue on a pizza is a genius! The wild boar pasta also delicious! I just wish the pasta had more cheese because I love cheese. Cheese is delicious. I put cheese on everything. Who else likes cheese? Mmmmm cheese.

As someone who has tried a lot of pizza places around Toronto, I didn't get the chance to try Beast Pizza until recently. Tucked away in a little inner street just north of King, Beast Pizza has a small and tight menu, but comes out swinging with their flavours. We got the classic pepperoni as well as their mushroom medley pizza and they both delivered in taste. To pair, we got their house dipping sauces which were lemony in nature and helped cut down on the gluttonous feeling you get when you're eating pizza. Nonetheless, I think they're doing things right and if you're a fan of pizza, you should stop by and try out one of their pies!

Randomly dropped by for their $1.25 oyster deal. They were shucked perfectly! The bartender and server were super friendly and welcoming. Decent happy hour drinks too! Will definitely come back with friends to try the actual menu.

We had multiple dishes and they all tasted like a bunch of greasy stuff piled together. I was not able to tell what I was eating most of the time other than feeling greasy. I was also feeling gross after the meal for the rest of the day. The duck French toast was the best dish out of it. At least it tasted somewhat good and I kind of was able to taste the food. The biscuit sandwich was the worst. It was just gross. The potato was soggy. I don’t think I’ve had worst.

Bone marrow with cheese was pretty but the pizza was mediocre at best. Pepperoni was nothing special, probably same as Pizza Nova. Pistachio with Burrata was decent however the cheese was a little hard. Overall 6.2/10. It's one and done.

This is a “pizza restaurant” vs a “pizza joint”. The beef heart pizza was a surprising highlight that we would not have ordered had the friendly staff not recommended it. The tartare was also excellent, and overall the menu options were super interesting given the whole-animal mission. Great joint for a date night or a pizza lovers hang.

Great local shop for wine, beer, eclectic canned and packaged foods, along with a fantastic menu. Can’t wait until the patio is back in action, take out is still amazing. Cod sandwich is a must

We ordered two dishes from their menu and both were equally delicious First was Frychos and second was Bodega cheesesteak. Frychos had fresh burst of flavour with coriander, tomatoes, sour cream and cheese with a good blend of fries and tortilla chips. Cheesesteak was tasty but the meat was little bit saltier. Didn’t like the Handerson cream soda.. would have preferred normal cream soda rather than from the brewery. Would definitely come back.

First time trying out this place & I'm pleased by how yummy my Chopped Cheese was. Great fries portion too. I'll definitely be trying out more items from their menu in the future! Props to the Uber delivery person that got my meal to me while the food was still hot. :)

Here is in my top 10 best brunch places in Toronto for sure. I have been here a few times and always served with great food. The biscuit they have for breakfast is must-have. They have high-quality foods and excellent coffee.

What I love about this place is that they pay enough salary and benefits to their waiters so you don't need to tip them. They have some interesting and unique pizza that might not be for everyone, but overall a great place to have pizza in Toronto.

Incredible carnivorous tapas at the Beast. Very quickly shot up to one of my favourites in the city. Rotating menu of some of the finest prepared delights. Friendly and attentive service, beautiful patio outside, converted rustic house. The level of food here is phenomenal, and portions are as valuable as they are delicious.

Decide to stop by Beast for a pizza. Pizza was excellent and whatnot. Staff friendly apologizeing and offerer me drink cause of the length delay I don't know who gets the blame does it go to the bartender waiter who took my order and said it'll be 20 minutes ( took almost 50 mins) or kitchen staff. When the customer orders the appropriate time should be given. Just a small thing that could be improved.

Great food, great service, great experience. Monthly menus change it up so frequent visitors can try a variety. The menu includes both individual sandwiches, and sharing dishes. While there, our group was large enough to try every sandwich on the menu with no disappointment, whatsoever. For sharing plates, the mango curry potatoes, escargot, bone marrow, oysters and gnocchi poutine where all home runs. Everyone wrapped up the night completely satisfied, and happy, without breaking the bank.

Drove an hour to come to this restaurant on the referral from a friend after booking our special meal over a week in advance. We decided to have the ‘whole animal dinner’ at the medium level and choose elk for our 6 course meal. The food was absolutely delicious! We had elk tartar, pate, tenderloin, and more paired with a beautiful dessert. You will love this experience if you give it a try.

Tried the whole animal dinner and went with Elk as our focus. Dishes were outstanding. Now we decided to go back once a month from out of town to try and work through the menu. Special thanks to the amazing chefs who created the meal. ❤️🥂 the last two pics are for the seafood experience. This is a hidden Gem place in Toronto. Hope yo keep it this way
