Came here a bit after what I thought I had reserved. This place gets insane on weekends and almost impossible to get a seat so the fact that they accommodated me was superb. I brought a close friend of mine and she told me that the Mac & cheese was amazing so we shared that and also ordered 2 avocado eggs Benedict’s. The eggs Benedict was great but one of the eggs was a little more cooked than the other and not as runny. The potatoes were probably the most impressive as they were falavorful and cooked to perfection (not too soft but just a little bite to them), and the salad was good however not used to having corn in it so took some getting used to. The Mac & cheese was very good however did not have that cheese pull that I was hoping. The top was crisp which is how it should be so it was still above average. The service was average but most probably since it was so busy. We asked for the bill and it took almost 40min to get it. The homemade hot sauce was very distinct. Smells like blueberries and gives the spice a certain acidity but don’t worry the hot sauce does not taste like them. I actually bought a bottle because it was so good. Would definitely try to come here again and not on one of there busiest days. Support local business always.

Went for a Saturday morning brunch. Was pretty crowded and had to wait to be attended for ordering food and paying the bill. But TOTALLY worth the efforts! We tried their legendary blueberry hills pancake and chicken fingers waffles made with buttermilk and Tabasco sauce. We had also got a cup of cappuccino. The chicken was very flavorful, I still had the taste of the chicken lingering in my palate for the following two days. The pancakes were fluffy, smooth and heavy. For people with small appetite, would recommend sharing. The cappuccino was a great accompaniment to our order! Rich and homely! Worth the effort to getting in and spending the money. Would suggest making a reservation, if waiting in long queue isn't your thing.

Such a cute spot! Well worth the trip if you are ever in the area. I see why it's so popular! Food was great, the staff are so down to earth and halarious, the drinks were delicious and the atmosphere is soo cute! I had the pardon my french toast with a side of turkey sausage and eggnog espresso Martini. Highly recommended!

Ginger was our waitress. She gave us the most AMAZING service, I could not ask for better. She was so energetic with the most amazing vibes, she was fun, exactly what you need for brunch. The food was truly delicious and I can’t wait to be back.

This place was so good. I went here for breakfast early at 9 am on a Saturday and it was fairly empty and easy to get a table at that time. The service was really great. Our waiter was very kind and attentive. The pancakes were next level and the eggs Benny was so delicious. Will definitely be coming back!

Very tasty food and generous portions. We came here about 11am on Saturday morning, the place looked quite busy but we were able to get a table for two on the patio without having to wait. We ordered fried chicken and waffles and blueberry pancakes. Both were very tasty and I would definitely recommend. Portions were generous and we were struggling to finish so you might consider sharing.

Our food was tasty, loved the fried chicken and waffle. Our burgers were also tasty. The patio was also nice. I would recommend trying this place for sure

Nice place to have a relaxing brunch, the hostess was a little pricey and as walk-ins told us no reservations available for an hour or so despite Atleast 7 tables empty 😱 we had to talk our way into getting a table after waiting 15/20 minutes and explaining that the reservations made by customers were not being used and we were paying ready customers sidelined. But after all the fiasco and wait I was pleasantly surprised by our server Mellisa who was polite efficient and just made our meal a wonderful experience. The food was delicious too. Hopefully they improve their hostesses etiquette. Being from a service background I know that creating a memorable experience is the only way to get repeat customers.

I recently celebrated my birthday brunch at Old School, and it was a delightful experience. The ambience, both indoor and outdoor seating, was charming. Outdoor diners are provided blankets for added coziness, which was a thoughtful touch. The food was exceptional; the breakfast sandwich stole the show with perfectly cooked eggs, avocado, and layers of flavor. The hot chocolate was the best I’ve had so far. The chicken and waffles were decent, with the chicken being perfectly cooked, contributing to an overall enjoyable dining experience. Our server, Isaiah, deserves a shoutout for his attentive service. They even have a merch shop with in-house-made habanero sauce. I couldn’t help but notice the tempting blueberry pancakes on another table, although we were already full. I will definitely try them next time. The total cost was around $50 including tax, felt reasonable for such a wonderful culinary and atmospheric treat.

Great service, delicious food and drinks, and very nice patio. We visited for Sunday brunch on Father’s Day, and even tho it was very busy we were sat right away. The server was very nice and they didn’t seem understaffed like lots of other restaurants, we got the biscuff milk shake, naughty Irishman coffee. And for lunch we got the general fried chicken sandwich and their burger, both very tasty, but I definitely recommend the chicken sandwich more. Definitely worth the visit when looking for a nice patio.

Stopped by on a Thursday morning with some friends who were visiting from out of province. We were one of the first customers, and we were served quickly, given recommendations and food came out quickly and was absolutely delicious. I had one of the best London Fogs I've had in a while. Will definitely come again.

Their blue berry pancakes are divine. I loved their matcha coffee and fries too. Fries were cold when it was served but our server was kind enough to get us fresh ones. Overall, great experience!

Had reservations for 4 of us. It was warm enough for us to sit on the covered patio. Food was fantastic. We ordered chicken & waffles, the signature pancakes, an egg breakfast and a salad. Service was great, food came out fast.

I love the vibe of this place! It’s retro but you can still feel the modernity. We tried their Gnocchi, Fish Tacos, AAA Steak, and Quesadilla. I love everything we tried especially the gnocchi, and fish tacos. My daughter loved the steak and the quesadilla. We’ll surely be back. Highly recommended!

    - Service: While other people have said this was an issue, our server was very prompt and attentive. - Ambience: Enjoyed their old-school music selection. - Food/drinks: No complaints; I had the General’s Fried Chicken and our table split the Blueberry Hill, in addition to a Paper Plane. Generally reasonably priced.

Disappointing experience at Old School in Toronto's downtown area. Despite being a breakfast spot, the lack of halal options was unexpected. While they do offer vegetarian choices, the overall quality didn't meet expectations. The prices seemed inflated for what was served. Wouldn't recommend for those seeking a satisfying breakfast experience.

Due to the hype, I was hoping to have amazing food like some of the popular brunch places I went. However, the food are very ordinary to me, I’m not saying it’s bad, but it’s just feels basic and safe to get full and not meeting up to my expectation. Service is good, staffs are very friendly and helpful. Cozy but a bit tight to seat in. Bacon- super dry, tasteless, no smoky note, like you overcooked the cheap bacon from the supermarket Bunny and the jet- Egg Benedict very ordinary, it has all the ingredients but it’s just not feel right, it doesn’t make you happy. I usually like the greens, but their salad is very sour. Coffee-ordinary, fairly acceptable, just not the best

I recently visited this well-known restaurant, excited to try their famous brunch, especially the pancakes and chicken and waffles that everyone raves about. The service was alright, but honestly, the food didn’t live up to the hype. The chicken was dry and the waffles were disappointingly mushy. The pancakes were just okay, nothing special. Maybe it was just an off day, but I was a bit let down considering all the great things I’d heard.

Wow this place is a gem! Incredible breakfast experience, incredible service (thanks Ginger!!), and such a nice vibe and atmosphere in the restaurant too! And to top it all off, the food is scratch cooking. Can't remember the last time I had real homemade hollandaise sauce. Fantastic.

Worth the hype! The food was excellent. Our server was delightful. She suggested a couple holiday drinks that we loved. Overall great experience.

Food was great, I got the bluehill pancakes. I feel like the pancakes could've used more bacon, it only came with two pieces. Otherwise it was awesome and the atmosphere was really fun.

Went for a reunion with my cousin, whom i have not seen in years. As soon as i arrived, the vibe was great! To the left was a couple having fun with their menu selection. To the right of us was an 11th birthday. Everywhere were fun bevys, colorful food and laughter! Our server was wonderful, kept our mimosas flowing, and sent us off with yummy milk shakes. Thank you for making our experience and reunion memorable☀️😄

Went here with a friend on a Sunday noon for brunch. Even though we didn't book ahead of time, after half an hour we were able to sit down at the bar. The restaurant is packed with customers yet, somehow I felt left out of the service. For the first few minutes I though I was waiting to be "assigned" to someone, lol Eventually we got someone'a attention and placed the order. I chosed a normal egg Benedict with a coffee, the sauce is somewhat plain to me and I got a handful of green for the amount of money I paid. ($18.99) At the end I got the cheque from my server along with the machine, then I had never seen her again. Had to mention to the bartender that I had paid and leaving the POS machine on the table.

This place is so good! We sat out and. Ate in the patio and enjoyed our morning with some Oatmilk chai and some Irish coffees. They did not disappoint! Breakfast was so good and the portions are so big. Didn’t fry any desserts or anything! Very good service!

  • 4/5 Nikki A. 8 months ago on Google
Food was great, however a little overpriced. $8 for a freshly squeezed orange juice is a little wild to me. It is pretty on par with Toronto brunch spots. Blueberry pancakes were the best and solid home fries too!! Would definitely go back :)

We started out getting coffees here in the morning since it’s close to where we’re staying, love their ice coffee. Decided to come for breakfast and the food was wonderful! The blueberry pancakes are a MUST and big enough to share, their compote is wonderful. You can sit indoors or outdoors. Overall, great experience and happy we are so close to it. John was a wonderful server.

Such a fun brunch place! Came here on a Sunday (resos were made) 3 weeks ago and got seated outside. Weather was still nice so it was perfect. Was told to order the pancakes as a side to share and was NOT disappointed. I don't normally order pancakes but these were delicious, especially the butter on top. I ordered the regular breakfast and enjoyed it, my friend had the chicken & waffles and was underwhelmed. Inside is huge, so I'm sure it's great for bigger tables as well. Staff was super friendly and attentive. Definitely a place to try!

Really good place for breakfast/brunch. One of the best egg benedicts I have ever had. Blueberry pan cakes and home fires are good as well. Great place for kids too as they got great food choices for kids. Didn’t quite like their dinner menu. Not many options and food is not as good as brunch.. They are usually busy, better to book an appointment in advance. They do accept walk-ins too Dining area is not that fancy but it’s cozy. They have 2 main sitting areas, bar side sitting and patio as well.

The food was absolutely delicious. My boyfriend got the fried chicken Benedict dish and I got the blueberry pancakes. Oh! And don’t even get me started on their crispy, flavourful home fries! We plan on going back to try more things on their menu and I’d definitely recommend anyone who’s interested in a modern-diner-style restaurant that has an endless amount of mouthwatering food.

One of the best brunch experience, felt so satisfied! Such a scrumptious brunch! Had their popular Blueberry Hill Pancake, worth all the hype. One would find it hard to finish it all by yourself. So filling, I must say! We also tried the mac and cheese, which was good too. Must visit, if you haven’t already! Edit: Came here again the second time for brunch and wondering why I can’t give this place a 10 star rating. Tried their french toast and man it was so good!! I think I will keep coming back!

Pretty good breakfast place. I had gone on a Tuesday morning with some friends. I didn’t think it would be as busy as it was, and man was it busy. And to be honest, I think the business is what has prevented me from giving this place a 5 star review. Here’s why. For starters, the place seemed to be short on staff. There were maybe 3 waitresses for what felt like an infinite amount of tables. As a result, our table had to wait quite a bit for service and food. Though service was slow, staff was super friendly. The food though was good. Their eggs Benedict with fried chicken was tasty, as was their Big Mac burger. Their English breakfast also looked intriguing. Portions were also generous for the price which was a plus, but due to the slow service our food arrived on the colder side. Our table had iced coffees and they all were great too. Will for sure be back to see if the speed of service improves! Their food warrants you to try it yourself.

Your restaurant is literally empty and you still make us wait 45 mins to get seated even AFTER making a reservation? The one lady who is at the counter made us wait for 10ins even after telling us that our table is ready and she will get us seated in a min. Eventually she just said that she doesn't care because they have enough demand and we should be grateful to be waiting. Of all the restaurants that closed down in the pandemic, it's weird that some of the ones that remain still feel customers are worthless.

  • 5/5 Jessica R. 2 years ago on Google
Made a reservation through open table that somehow didn’t show on their end but we were able to be seated right away regardless. Love the extended patio, all tables have umbrellas for shade which is much appreciated. Service was amazing, love that they bring water to the table for self service. I had an iced mocha and I was very appreciative of it not being full of ice even tho I didn’t request this. Got the blueberry hill which lived up to its internet fame but all the dishes being brought out looked amazing. I will for sure be back.

Visited Old School on a Saturday to grab brunch with friends. We had a reservation and were seated right away. The outdoor vibes were really great. Our waitress was really friendly and hilarious! Service was great. The milkshake was delicious and very filling (you can choose from a variety). We also ordered the famous Mac n Cheese - the portion size was big and honestly it’s probably one of the best Mac n Cheese I’ve had in the city. We also ordered the flapjack pancakes with blueberries - we were very full from the Mac n Cheese so we couldn’t finish the pancakes BUT from what we did eat of the pancakes, it was really good. Place is reasonably priced ($$). Definitely recommend.

We went for dinner on a Saturday and it was moderately busy. The service was attentive and well timed, the food was all really good and came in big portions. The blueberry pancakes and Mac and cheese were especially good. Drinks were great too. Props to the staff for accommodating our request move our reservation inside and add another person. They were extremely understanding and helpful.

  • 4/5 Tungesh K. 2 years ago on Google
Food is excellent. Wait time is small - normally get seated within 10-15min on a Sunday afternoon. Only issue is the service is slow. There is limited staff so getting your food takes a while. But it’s a good place to just sit down and enjoy a few drinks before you get your food. I wouldn’t recommend if you want a quick brunch and have other plans later.

  • 5/5 Soph 2 years ago on Google
Perhaps the best brunch experience I've had. The place itself it extremely cozy and nice, a bit cramped, but it feels very warm and modern. The food was absolutely amazing. Some of the best brunch food I've ever had, and for the price the portions were super generous by Toronto standards. I had the pulled pork and cheddar sandwich with fries and it was beyond delicious. I would come back just to order it again. For 18 dollars it was super worth it. Definitely come here if you're looking for great, affordable brunch food!

The chicken and waffles, burger, and chicken sandwich were delicious. The lobster grilled cheese was a little dry. It was missing something. Despite the wait to be seated, our waiter was great and the place was nice.

  • 4/5 Diana M. 1 year ago on Google
The server was nice and the music playlist was great here (90s vibes). However, I thought the food was just okay. They need to update their menu. Our first choice of drinks was not available. One drink brought out was wrong and another cup had something floating at the bottom. My friend ordered gnocchi with grilled chicken but fried chicken was on the dish. A lot of little errors, but overall experience was just okay. The back patio was really cute though.

  • 4/5 Frank E. 1 year ago on Google
Not exactly sure what the fuss is all about. The atmosphere is really good and the food is good. Now for me something different is the concept of the waffle and fried chicken. I find the pancakes and French toast are the same as any other breakfast place I have ever been. Percolated coffee at 4 dollars a cup that’s a first for me….

  • 4/5 Alanna C. 2 years ago on Google
Love the vibe and decor of this place. A great patio and very fun crowd and staff. My personal favourite was the milkshakes. You can also opt to make them more "adult" with some alcohol ;)

To start this place is beautiful, it has old vibes type of house and the have a good patio on the side . I went around 10am on a Monday and it wasn’t full so we got a table right away . Service was quick and everyone was so friendly, and helpful. The menu is amazing , I didn’t find it too overwhelming or that maybe something was missing . Food was quick , and fresh , I just wished my fried chicken benny had a bit more of chicken as it was hard to find . They also offer a great selection of drinks too . I really enjoyed and I will definitely be back to try those famous pancakes !!

  • 4/5 Fernanda L. 2 years ago on Google
The place is great and the service was very helpful. About the food… Blueberry Hill: it’s pancakes with bacon. I’ve never tried before and I like it. I believe worth a try. 👍🏼 Benny & the Jets - Peameal Bacon: the eggs were great, but I didn’t like the fries and salad. So I wouldn’t order again. 😕

We'll be back! We found this place via a google search and are so glad we took the chance. We made reservations knowing that brunch in TO is (usually) a nightmare scenario. We got there early and they did their best to accommodate us even tho they were packed. They have a nice covered patio and the restaurant is much larger than you'd imagine from the outside. They have great, cheeky neon signs for those who like their Instagram moments - most importantly the service and food were great! It's reasonably priced and the quantity is plentiful. Come hungry and bring some friends so you can share and try more of the menu. The servers were attentive without being overbearing, they were always there to refresh our coffee, bring us more water and just check in to make sure we had everything we needed. We'll certainly be back the next time we're in Toronto.

The food was really really good. They also had massive portions that my friend and I struggled to finish. The place was also really nice looking. Our waiter was incredibly kind and checked up on us often. Of course the prices are a little high considering it’s an aesthetic little restaurant downtown but it’s all so worth it.

Me and girlfriend went for dinner here and we got seated immediately. The waiter was really nice and helpful & made sure that we were all taken care of. The food was amazing and flavourful, I had the lobster Mac & cheese and it was so good. They had a blueberry habanero hot sauce that paired incredibly well with all of the food and their quesadillas were also phenomenal because of the way they seasoned their chicken. Definitely a great spot to go out and enjoy yourself and you should definitely give it a try soon!
