My friends and I had a great experience trying this neighbourhood restaurant for the first time. The food presentation was amazing, and the taste did not disappoint. I found the portion sizing to be perfect, and the atmosphere was very pleasant (we chose the patio). We’ll be back.

I had a great experience with Flame Food+Design, they had a lovely patio on the top floor and the service was excellent. I had one mix up but was quickly rectified. The food is delicious, I am starting to make my rounds to a handful of Turkish restaurants and I am not sure where I would place this in my personal rank list. But to be objective this is a great spot for authenticity and creative forward dishes. Hummus with crispy chickpeas, charcoal bread with a side of sauce (can't remember what it was called), and the kebab plate had some additional comments that really added a nice layer of flavour. The crispy chickpeas added a very nice crunchy element to a really smooth, not too garlicky hummus, pita and breads were baked well, although charcoal is not something I am particularly interested in nor taste but still great with the sauce. And the kebab plate, everything seasoned really well already but the extra side of salt and this tomato-like paste was very delicious. I cleaned up the plate as everything was great. It is a nice Turkish spot for the bloor west area.

This place literally reminded me of my visit to Istanbul. The atmosphere is amazing and the staff are beyond any praise. Everything was absolutely delicious. Everyone was so attentive. I hated arugula before I tried their arugula salad. No bitterness at all, amazing flavour. And the baklava with custard that has black pepper in it blew my mind away. Scores 100 out of 100 in hospitality, ingenuity and flavour.

Don't let the casual first impression or wobbly stair rail fool you -- the food is amazing. We'd recommend every dish we were able to try (we were full after one appetizer each and sharing a main dish), and we look forward to returning to try more of the menu. Service was knowledgeable and friendly. We appreciated the natural light and quiet of the upstairs patio. This place is almost perfect. We include a picture of the tasting menu, which we'll consider for next time.

Not your ordinary Turkish food… what an amazing coincidence that took us this Ramadan evening to Flame. Once they new we were fasting they brought us dates and water 🙏🏻💖 “We enjoy making food for people who love to try new tastes” said chef Serhat Now… when I see a chef comes to talk to his costumers I know I’m in good hands. The food was very interesting, our taste buds were celebrating new ideas!! Presentation and colors were super nice. The desert and my fav Mastic coffee from Salamlek was the cherry on top🧿

Overall a good experience. We came here to try the summerlicious menu. This restaurant does not have online booking, so we had to call to reserve a table. The service was good initially, but as we saw the patio get filled up the servers were running non-stop moving plates up and down the stairs, and it took a while to get our food. We have never had Turkish cuisine but found the taste to be unique and delicious, with portions so generous that we had to take some of it home. We had fried eggplant (mad apple), fried seafood ball in a curry-like sauce (atlantis), and the main dishes were lamb and beef, each with the same vegetable accompaniments. The grilled meats were excellent, juicy enough but also with a nice smoky flavour. This is a place I would go again even when it's regular price.

I can't say enough about how fabulous this place is. The food was amazing! There was so much on the menu that looked great and we ordered way too much food for two people. But we had no regrets whatsoever. The wife of the chef waited on us and she was delightful. The chef also came out towards the end of our meal and we got to thank him personally for a truly memorable meal. We dined between lunch and dinner and sat on the outdoor terrace and it was just perfect. I'm a foodie and it takes a lot to impress me; I was definitely impressed by this place.

REALLY enjoyed this restaurant. Beautiful rooftop patio, very nice presentation, food was delicious with good size portions, service was great. It seemed like every staff member in the restaurant wanted to make sure things were going well and cared. The way they serve the raki (traditional Turkish drink) was also very nice. Will 100% be returning.

First time here and did not disappoint. The atmosphere is super intimate yet busy. The service is impeccable especially the complimentary charcoal bread that was served tasted absolutely amazing. And for main course had the chicken breast skewers dinner, the simplicity of this dish has left me wanting more…it’s packed with flavour and meat was cooked to perfection and was juicy and tender, hats off to the chef !!! Would definitely come back here again.

We were excited to try this place based on the reviews and the charcoal grill. The patio is really cute with a good ambiance, rest of the restaurant inside seemed bare. Out of everything we ordered we only liked the lamb ribs. The kebab was lacking in flavor and the texture was off. The hummus was lacking flavour as well (a little more salt and oil would fix it).

It's been a while since I had such an amazing experience. The food left me craving more and the drinks and service ensure I will be coming back. Beautiful place and honestly, the food is just unbelievable!! Do yourself a favor and stop by .... The only thing I didn't loved was the humus- it was just different and not to MY tasting or creamier enough, but it's not bad.

This place would be awesome if they hired an experienced professional server to train everyone. The food is hit or miss but the service is never satisfying.

Last night, I went to Flame Food+Design for the first time, and I can't find the words to describe how amazing my experience was. Congratulations to the chef and all the staff for not only creating incredibly tasty dishes but also for crafting such a welcoming and cozy environment that makes anyone feel at home. Secondly, the food presentation and flavors were so extraordinary that I forgot to take pictures myself! I started with the Cretan paste with fresh house-made toasts, and later enjoyed the lamb shank (Dobo) and the beef top sirloin steak (Capoeira) for the main course. Believe me when I say I had one of the best lamb dishes of my life at Flame! It was so rich and tender—wow! I had forgotten the feeling of excitement and pure joy after tasting such an amazing dish. Thirdly, the patio is super cute, the music is not overly loud, allowing for easy conversation and the enjoyment of each other’s company. The service is top-notch, and the cocktails are a blast! I will definitely be returning there many more times.

We’ve lived in Bloor West Village for years and this was hands down the best meals we’ve had in the area, and even in Toronto as a whole. Great service, nice rooftop patio, delicious food. Definitely get the mezze platter and any of the kebabi - you won’t be disappointed. Will come back again. 💯👏

An amazing experience. The owners were very involved to explain the history of the food and they're super helpful to help me choose an entree. I had the best steak I have ever had here. They make you feel like you're at home and every touch of this place makes it enduring. I will certainly come back. The staff was wonderful, patio was beautiful and the food was incredible. Thank you flame for a new experience, I'd recommend any day.

Such a beautiful hidden rooftop patio they had! I've never tried much Turkish food before but it was amazing! Owners Irem and Serhat are so passionate about their food, culture and design! They had a story behind every drink and dish and we learned more about Turkish culture through their meal. I absolutely loved their octopus!

A very unique and pleasant restaurant to visit. The food was amazing and completely something different. The service was amazing and we have been very happy with the suggestions for food. Friendly and nice experience. They serve you with charcoal bread which is completely black but no burning taste. All our dishes were amazing. These are just a few.

The appetizers were amazing and the plates were extremely pretty, mostly the Atlantic. The main plate was the lamb ribs and it was extremely fatty, it was mostly fat which we told the owner about and they said that it is the authentic way to make the meal and the sides were cold. But I’ve had lamb at many places and it doesn’t taste like that to be honest. And it made us feel a bit sick after. Overall, it was a good experience. Amazing hospitality. :) the issue was the main course and they charged us for something that we did not want.

Fantastic from start to finish! Seated promptly (with a reservation), greeted at the table by the chef (owner?) who explained the ingredients are all fresh. He assured us if we weren’t satisfied for ANY reason, he’d prepare something else for us. Appetizers and meal were fantastic! My girlfriend is vegetarian and there was no shortage of options. The presentation was fantastic, in beautiful unique dishes. I’d never tried Turkish cuisine before, and there were a lot of local Turks dining there. That must say something? We didn’t have dessert, but they looked fantastic as well. Will definitely come again.

If you get a chance to go out for only one supper in Toronto, this is the place I would recommend you to visit, as the atmosphere, the food, the presentation, the owners and the service speak to all 6 senses and aim for total satisfaction and overall happiness. Consider this place not a restaurant, but a food exhibition where you get to experience the pieces on display.

Amazing service and food! There is live music on Saturday which really made the atmosphere spectacular! The lamb sirloin cubes was so delicious, I will come back for that as well as the amazing mezes.

What a wonderful experience. As the owner explained, this isn't a restaurant but a place of happiness. He explained all the dishes' origins, carefully made presentable cocktails, and treated us with care. Everything tasted amazing!

The staff was welcoming the restaurant looks pretty. They only offered seats in the patio and it was over 28°C we couldn't enjoy the table. My husband ordered lamb ribs it was all fat he couldn't eat much even though he loves fat but it was too much. The kefta was good. The entry was interesting, where you can travel through different region in Turkey I loved the chicken one and the one with different nuts (sorry couldn't memorise the names). We haven't ordered a desert as it was too hot and I was worried to find it just fine... Not the best choice we made for our anniversary.

Great place to discover Turkish/Anatolian cuisine above kebab and baklava. Owner/Chef Serhat is very enthusiastic about his work and every plate that is served has a story. The food is not just delicious, but also pleasing to the eye. The presentation, layout and flavour are top notch. The location has also a nice old house charm and good for events up to 60-70 people. Strongly recommended for anyone looking to find a culinary experience above Toronto average.

This is a MUST visit place! The owner and chef is so gracious with his sharing of the history behind the dishes and encouragement to enjoy the company and food. Staff are super attentive and food presentation and flavour is amazing. Mezzes and mains, lots of lamb, seafood, steak, chicken and vegetarian options Try the Turkish raki cocktails if you like anise.....amazing Lots of gluten free and dietary options....so accommodating for those with allergies. So worth the visit and now on my top list for restaurants in Toronto

The most beautiful warm sweet place, the owners are such warm welcoming and joyous people, their food is done with great attention to nuance and presented beautifully, each dish described as presented, with the story of where it came from. The meats we had were served with fruits and it was so delicious. The design of the place is effortless yet tasteful and playful - exactly what you need to relax. With great attention to detail like dishes napkins and furniture, right away you see the owners’ artistic eye behind the set up, and the wall murals are in progress. Everything they do, they do with care. The atmosphere was truly precious, fun and cozy, when you come you feel at home and I’m sure I’m not the only one to feel this way. When you come, the warms of the place reminded me of that natural sweet warmth of a log cabin heated with a fireplace. They have beautiful upstairs patio for summer, but the inside is so beautiful that I don’t feel like I missed out (I came in the autumn) Thank you so much for an amazing wonderful magical evening! Will come here from all the way in north York, because it’s worth the trip and infinitely more

Amazing food, the staff and chef are friendly and warm. I went there most recently with my mom, she left feeling very happy and inspired. I haven't come across too many places like this, where you have a full experience. We will be back soon.

Phenomenal location. We didn't realize that they had a lovely patio upstairs, covered with trees and gentle ambiance of music made it feel like we were transported to a different country. The staff explained all of the options and provided recommendations. The food is next level. Each dish we had was so flavourful with fresh herbs and spices.

Great food, filling and Ofcourse beautiful presentation and taste. Loved the food. The staff were nice and respectful, they give us a complimentary of black bread filled with cheese and olive oil which was nice of them and Ofcourse brought smile to our faces. It is $$$$, but a good place to give it a try and enjoy yummy Turkish food. During Covid they have patio on the 3rd floor and street which is good. A bit small, but manageable. Plus it was just across TTC Subway station!

Places this good make a neighbourhood a great place to live. The rooftop patio is a true hidden gem. The food is incredible but I want to mention the beer: perfectly served Czechvar. Beautifully cold, with a nice head, and in a substantial glass stein. Exactly as it should be.

Fantastic service and excellent food. We walked in just after 1 on a Sunday. Unbeknownst to us, it was just the chef present at the time. He seated us, served us, and even poured our tea for us. They hooked us with the charcoal bread. We had a great time and even ordered 2 desserts. 10 out of 10 would visit again.

This is the dining experience you’ve been looking for!! It certainly was for me, my only mistake is meeting one friend here for a catch-up chat….we needed MORE people to sample more of the menu! I’m a Toronto born south-Asian who knows very little about Turkish food but I asked a local foodie friend where to go and he told me this is the spot. 3 things made this a 10/10 for me (and I’m a frequent business traveler for work so it’s rare a restaurant really knocks me off my feet like this): 1) Straight-up, the food is outstanding. It’s from different regions of Turkey so ask your server questions about it, do not be embarrassed. This is a family business and they are proud to share and guide you through to have a great experience. I love steak and the charcoal fire method here brought us Lamb so tender, succulent and delicious we already planned what we will eat on our next visit (with more friends) 2) The decor, atmosphere and vibe are a rich experience in an area falling prey to mediocre chain after chain after chain. I even stayed after my guest left to just explore some of the unique decor and soak it in. That ceiling! 3) When I sat down the owner introduced themselves and as it was my first visit, shared their vision, how to enjoy my visit by being bold with food choices and honestly the man spoke to me like family. Warm, caring for my enjoyment of his food and although it’s a little more pricey then the chains next door, the food + experience was perhaps underpriced. I hate that my pictures just can’t do the place, decor and food justice. Was there for a meeting with a friend and I don’t like to take too many pictures when I’m with people but wow, the plating and even the cutlery were of such thoughtful design, I can see them in my mind still, hours later. Hidden gem, loved their bigger tables for groups and families…the joy, the culture the clear care for every detail. Will see them again soon, highly recommend. Tip: It’s steps from Transit and there is a safe/cheaper Green P city parking lot across the street (saving you from sketchy impossible parking on Bloor) across from the TTC station. Perfect location. Best to call for reservations, they don’t have a great website but it’s legit.
