PLEASE PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS PLACE EVERYONE! Booked an event in partnership with an organization to be held at this venue. The owner first asked for deposit right away to secure the date "or else the date will be taken because there are many other people who want to book this date". We kept asking for contract right away and he never sent it saying, "don't worry about it, I'm not going anywhere and your event is booked for this date". We payed the deposit because we liked the place and the date seemed perfect. Fast forward to two weeks, when we already started selling tickets and are more than half sold out, he messages us and says that he and the manager double booked us and that we have to change the date. He knew this was going to be a large event and was ticketed, he never sent the contract and said multiple times that we should not worry, our date is secured even though we kept messaging him many times to send the contract. When we said, can you ask if the other party can move the date because we already are more than half way sold and the event is less than two weeks away, he started harassing us and said refund your tickets because the other party paid all the money and you didn't (He asked for deposit to secure the date and that's what we gave) which is also a standard in the event industry. Seems like another party offered him more money and he took it, and then cancelled our event saying he double booked us because the manager already booked someone else for this date. When we talked to his manager, he said that the only person who does booking is the owner himself so there was no way of us being double booked for the same date, and him realizing this just two weeks before our event was going to happen is very co-incidental with the fact that he was always delaying sending our contract. He basically said he cannot do anything and cancelled our event and we were left strangled with half the event tickets sold, and two weeks before the event to find another venue and change all the marketing (let alone al the money we spend on marketing this event at this place). Finding a replacement venue this quickly for a large number of people this quickly is close to impossible in Toronto. I wish I read these reviews before agreeing to partner up with a company to do the event here. Anyone who is thinking of doing an event here, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE listen to these reviews. So many people cannot lie about similar experiences about this one place and one person. It seems that it is common for this owner to scam people, harass them and hold such unprofessional business ethics. He does not care about his clients and cares only about money. Save your money and time and please go look for a venue some where else. We have warned all of our event partners, sponsors, and many event organizations in Toronto to be aware of this place! Run from this place as soon as you can and save your self!

Bar tender kept all my change (refused to give any back and stole). Bouncer was pointlessly angry and dumb even when I listened to their instructions entering the place. Interior was nothing special: music was okay and there was a fair amount of space. Don't see myself wanting to go back or recommending the place to others.

Went for Y2K night and was really excited, since I LOVE y2k music and fashion. It’s a small venue, which is fine, but there was way too many people which made it cramped and sweaty. My biggest issue is the platform near the washroom; people were tripping over it all night. My friends and I left early because we weren’t feeling it, it got boring quickly and the humidity made it hard to enjoy. The music progressively got worse throughout the night, so there wasn’t any incentive to stay. It’s Y2k night but they really didn’t play much y2k, and when they did, it was short mashups. I can forgive that, but due to the small space there wasn’t much else you could do. I don’t have an plans on coming back. EDIT: Upon reading the reviews, it’s clear someone else needs to be in charge of responding to reviews. Extremely immature and off putting responses from the owner. Also you can’t sue people for posting REVIEWS you don’t like. Maybe put all that energy into making your business better?

Two days after my first night working at Casablanca I quit very politely on good terms because respectfully it’s not the environment I would be in due to tinnitus issues, and took a different opportunity. Majority of people working there were new (and great to work) with besides two people that were very nice prior to working but while busy they weren’t the best. Overall pay was minimum wage plus $19.50 in tips for a packed club night during an event. After I questioned the owner he said “I’m sorry I miscalculated here’s $24 more” *red flag*. As a bartender this is something to avoid. The responses to me in text and the communication with me wasn’t professional. Read how the owner is replying to negative reviews (make sure dates are accordingly so he hasn’t changed it since this).

Went here for a Taylor Swift Dance Night. Now I've been to a lot of these at difference venues across the city and this by far was one of the worst experiences. They played 4 songs twice, there was no DJ just a phone connected to the aux playing off Spotify, they were playing the weirdest lyric videos on the projection screen (from songs about tragedies like childhood cancer... like what the heck way to bring the mood down and show they did zero research into the artist or songs to play), the drinks were insanely over priced ($12 for a shot?), and then one of the bartenders was refusing to give me and my friends water! He kept saying he couldn't give us water without us also buying drinks but we had been buying drinks earlier in the night! It's actually illegal for venues to deny patrons water as per the Toronto municipal alcohol guidelines (regardless of if they've bought alcoholic drinks or not). We explained this to the bartender but he continued to argue and refuse us until we asked to speak to a manager and only at that point did he finally give us the water. The only positive thing I can say about this place is that the crowd was wonderful but that doesn't have anything to do with the venue. I would caution anyone against using this place for similar events in the future.

My friends booked this venue and the owner was very unprofessional, money hungry and unethical, harassed our friends and cancelled their event. Everyone be aware of this owner and place to book this venue. Save your money and headaches.

Yikes. Saw an ad on Kijiji offering a "cash job" to a bartender/bottle service staff member who is "active on social media". If this place is struggling with its social media presence, there's GOT to be a better solution. Riding on an undocumented employee's personal following is really, really gross. Also, reading their unaccountable, defensive and empty-threat-filled responses on poor reviews here really tells me what I need to know about this business and its owner. What a poor impression his OWN BEHAVIOR has made.

Wish I could give less than 1 star. First of all, they were charging for water which is illegal. And not even just one or two dollars, they tried to charge $5 for it. Later on they folded and did give water but the fact that they tried to charge for it says more than enough about this place. Secondly, the bartender took a shot while serving alcohol which is extremely illegal and unprofessional as well. She should have her smart serve taken. I believe the bald guy in the picture is the owner but I’m not sure. This is a shady bar and I’m not sure if they are struggling to stay open or just have terrible management. Either way AVOID AT ANY COST

Horrible bar. They kept refusing to serve free water even though legally you have to do that when serving booze (after I told them this, they finally gave in). The guy who seemed like the boss (manager/owner?) also kissed several of the female bartenders which we found odd. When my partner was ordering a drink, he suggested he make her a spicy margarita and then just started making it. He charged her $20 for it and it was the most disgusting drink we had ever tasted in our lives. It tasted like a cheap margarita was made spicy with the ingredients used to season a ceaser. DO NOT GO HERE. I had been in the past and it was not this bad, it seems like there's been a change in ownership or management that's greatly decreased the quality.

I never post reviews, but had to write this one because my friends very done very wrong wth by this venue and the owner. Do not recommend doing any of your events here. The owner won’t respect you, your business, time or your money.

TERRIBLE establishment. A friend of mine rented out the bar + some staff for a private event. The owner of the place lied and stole from my friend - even after a contract was written, read, and SIGNED by all parties involved. He kicked out all the guests 3 hours before the end of the agreed time, even forcefully moved people around. The owner is harassing my friend now… if I could rate less than 1 star I would! Do not recommend, on top of the horrific service, the place was small, improperly kept, had no Air Conditioning and the service was sub-par. Do NOT GO HERE if you value yourself at all. Period.

Went for a queer event. There were lots of cute people, a fun DJ, a friendly staff, lots of discreet seating for a small venue, and great photo ops.

Small club with decent music and atmosphere. Bartenders are good and friendly. It did get quite packed and hot later in the night. The bouncer was on a crazy power trip for no reason which started our night off in a weird way.

He booked my friends for a party and then once we arrived there was a security gaurd who was charging $20 entry. Some of the guests paid before we realized what was happening. Some guests left since they didn't know about the door fee. :( He also stormed around the tiny bar angry for an hour until he left when he realized our party was better than any party that ever happened at Casablana. Super shady owner. Staff was rude. They also hide your total when checking you out at the bar. I supsect they are charging people more than they going prices.

I went to Casablanca Lounge twice with some friends. Both experience was so great. Beautiful place and cozy. The staff were very friendly, good mood and with good vibes. Even the owner got a chance to met him, a very attentive person. Loved the musics! Great place to have fun and some drinks.

My friend and I went to Casablanca Bar Lounge for the very first time and the servers were very kind and helpful towards us and were patient with all of our questions. We also met Ivan who was so welcoming and friendly to us! He has really good French Caribbean music and Kizomba!

All in all, it was an ok experience. One of the bartenders was passive agressive and kept saying she couldnt understand us in a snobbish kind of way when we asked questions. The other bartender was so sweet and so kind, they would answer all our questions and bring us our drinks to where we were sitting. The music choice couldve also been much better and needed some serious improvement. We were there from 10:30 ish to 1 am and only when we were leaving they brought in a new DJ who started playing better music. Not the best experience, but I definitely had fun!

Had a wonderful time with friends at this cool, trippy club. The set by DJ Sal was wicked and the bartenders kept us well-watered through the night. Thanks for letting me photograph your beautiful venue ... we will be back!

They didn’t have a menu for wine and they sell a small glass of not really great wine for $16 The owner offered a free champagne bottle if all of the people who had booked the venue gave it a 5 star review on google! I saw people complaining about the owner in the comments and he’s even mean to them here =))

I will say the venue is renovated really nicely. The owner cares about every patron who enters the venue, and the girls who work there are super pretty. I recommend that if your in the city of Toronto to stop by!

Disappointed by service and the way staff was handling situations! Our friend booked the whole bar for his birthday including bottles (all paid). The people who were bringing the bottles and juices or pops with it, they were trying to charge us for services or drinks that were already paid.

Great staff!! They are very attentive to their customers and provide excellent bottle service. Awesome DJs too! I went on a Saturday night and they played a mix of Hip Hop and Afrobeats and I LOVED it.

We went for an event. The venue itself was small but there were seating areas. It did get hot really quick but the event itself was packed so that definitely contributed to the factor. I hit my head and the bartender was really nice and gave me a bag of ice. He emptied a bag of cups and used the bag to fill with ice for me, which was really appreciated. The one thing I didn’t like was that the price of tequila shots were 12$, which threw us off. Overall though, good place.

Service is nice but know what you're in for. Almost like a mini-Rebel style place. Bottle service is encouraged for seating areas along the wall. Dark and long and narrow and oonz oonz oonz with all the flashing lights. Gets VERY hot and sweaty on a crowded night. Patio area available out front but it's very small (no tables).

One of my fav spots in the city. Good customer service and very professional. Definitely recommend this spot. The Owner is such a friendly gentleman n the stuff too. Ood vybes as always 🙏🙏💯💯

Casablanca has such a great vibe all around - staff is super friendly and professional, the ambience is perfect for a fun night, and they have such amazing music/DJs, weeknights and weekends! And they offer quite a long list of drinks and cocktails. My friends and I enjoy going there on a Wednesday night for a few hours just as much as partying it up on a weekend night. Many other places are short-staffed due to Covid and you end up waiting long times to be served. This has never been an issue at Casablanca, service is always fast, despite how busy the place is. Highly recommend!

Went here with a couple mates after a rowdy football match. With a win for the home team we thought we would get a couple drinks to celebrate. Ended up having a banger of a night. Great music, Ciroc and a special birthday made it a night to remember!

They throw the best Kizomba / Kompa / Zouk / Afrobeats events. Intimate location. Always a good time there.

Went to this lounge for my best friends bday and honestly the music was amazing but the biggest takeaway was how kind and considerate the owner of the club was. I got my phone stolen in the club and he helped so much in looking for it and made sure I was okay the next day when I was feeling sick that night. The owner and the music made the place such a great experience 10/10 would recommend checking it out :)

I came here to leave a negative review but looks like everyone beat me to the punch. Looks like the owner is going to have a lot of lawsuits for slander. Ivan, the owner is not just a con artist but a misogynist. Steer clear and dont make a verbal agreement with him. Lastly, not even a real bar. They buy alcohol at retail prices and mark it up.
