Update 3 - 1 Year & 8 Months later (Sept 2023): Updating back to a 4-star. Leaving previous updates up for context. While I was peeved at the price increase - in retrospect, the way they did it was probably the most fair to the overall membership base and with inflation the way it played out. I think the overall team at Altea is generally good and for the price and amenities they offer, there's a ton of value as a mid-range between Goodlife and luxury like Equinox & Lifetime. I go here quite often and the main reason I haven't bumped them back to 5-stars is their suppliers or contractors aren't the best? The fixtures in the showers keep breaking (locks, faucets, etc.) and the ceiling paint keeps on peeling but hopefully they'll continue to fix/improve it over time. I also go to the Hot Yoga studio and that alone is probably worth the membership; especially with the quality of instructors they get (shoutout to Christopher Pryde). Update 2 - 1 year later, renewal time (Jan 2023): Incredibly disappointing business practices dropping this down to 1 star. On renewal, the business has no issue increasing the price from 10-30% via an $8 flat rate increase bi-weekly to essentially push out their founding members after verbally committing through their sales that any increases would be a nominal 3-5% increase “a few dollars at most, indexed to inflation”. While I’m sure their positioning is that contractually their able to do this, on principle and ethically - buyer beware on anything the company commits to. Update (Mar 16th, 2022) - bumping this up to 4 stars since they take feedback well. They quickly fixed and updated the locker issues and a quick response on here. Only thing remaining is waiting for the pool/saunarium/salt lounge to open - which just got pushed to mid-late April 🥲. I expect it to be great when it opens but 4-stars until then. —- Slightly rocky opening but optimistic I can bump this rating up to 5-stars in the next couple of weeks (Mar 2022). Some current issues: -Fancy gym locks are finicky and the app hasn’t been setup properly, and/or doesn’t have the proper instructions -Bathroom finishes still not fully complete, and Pool/Saunarium area not yet open -towels are tiny (compared to Goodlife) and have the texture of a dishcloth (also since they’re new, they leave lint everywhere) Positives: -Steam room is open and nice and hot! -Vibe and decor are great, even has a phone booth if you need to take a quick office call while at the gym -The bonkers amount of space & equipment available is amazing -Unique machines that are extremely better than old school counterparts (standing hip abductor for one) -Great membership - generally respectful and friendly folks; looking forward to the social aspect soon as Catalyst opens & COVID restrictions are fully peeled back

The gym looks promising and the initial people that I spoke with had a great vibe and Steve G who helped me with my initial assessment was excellent. I originally signed up for the small group training membership (~$86/bi-weekly), but then decided to sign up for PT (~$5000 additional fees) and drop down to a regular membership. When attempting to do this, they refused to honour the founding membership rate, even though I signed up back in 2021 and I have committed to purchasing additional services. One could assume that as a gesture of good faith they would honour the founding rate, considering they are letting current members 'gift founding rates' to friends and family. Honestly, such a poor practice that I am re-thinking joining the gym at all.

November 2023: I’ve come into the gym twice to attempt to cancel my membership and I’m still getting charged five extra payments (around $800-900). They’re also backdating payments that they promised to me that they would freeze (cancelled in person in October 17,2023 even after cancelling in June, told me no more payments would come out and was charged $250 on November 9,2023). I would not recommend going this gym because clearly they’re just trying to rip money off members and make it impossibly difficult for you to cancel your membership without extra payments. I’ve made it known to the gym since JUNE I want to cancel and even paid my outstanding yearly membership dues. It is now November, I have a paper trail email from September expressing my intent to cancel and they’ve still come up with a way to take an extra 5-6 payments off me!!! To the owner that responded to me 5 days ago: I called and confirmed with staff over the phone that I did not want to renew my membership during June 2023. June 2023 to September 2023 is more than 30 days and is sufficient time to cancel my membership. At Goodlife, I simply have to call and they cancel immediately. At Altea, I need to send a physical letter or come into the gym. I've moved since my membership's original end date of Sept 2023, and Altea is now an hour drive from where I live. They're telling me the only way to get immediate service is to drive an hour and go into the gym just to cancel. This is insane- I've never been to a gym with such terrible customer service. Altea likes to take advantage of people for not reading the fine print, and the staff are happy to stay quiet & continue to charge without consent. I've worked for gyms before, but this tactic is just sneaky.

Difficult to know where to begin..... The staff need to get themselves educated in customer management and friendly service. The membership price goes up every couple months. The gym is too crowded and it’s difficult to find an available locker. The showers are disgusting, drains totally plugged with hair. The cleaners shut down the steam room earlier than they’re scheduled to so they can leave earlier. Some weight machines are out of service for a long time. And also if you need a cable machine, you have to pray to get one. I don’t recommend this gym at all. I regret signing a year contract with them and if you’re still considering their gym, please do yourself a favour and read the contract first. They are so polite and welcoming at first when you’re not a member, but after you sign the contract they don’t give a **** about you. The two hour parking limit is a joke, especially when you’re waiting so long to get a locker, equipment, and shower! You will feel stressed the entire time you’re there. I don’t call them “altea active”, I call them a giant money grab! If you like being hustled, you’ll love this gym. BUYER BE AWARE : DO NOT TRUST ANY OF THEIR WORDS. Altea : DO NOT BOTHER TO ANSWER

I am really enjoying this gym generally, nice friendly staff, large space and great classes. I really love the yoga classes, but I wish there were more strength training classes offered in the evenings (especially late evening). I’m a busy person, I often work late, as I am sure many are, the latest strength classes are around 6/7pm or very early am. Complementary parking also needs to be extended to a min. 3 hours, I’ve spoken to several other members of the gym and it’s consistent people feel 2 hours is very rushed, especially when you are taking a class which are generally around an hour. My impression when I was signing up for this gym was that there would be more amenities as well. I used to go to Equinox and they have all products you may need (Kiehls shampoo, conditioner, lotion, comb, face towels, etc) and I really liked the spa like experience, this gyms monthly membership is not cheap so it should be provided and I feel that was the original plan from what I was told when signing up. I think especially the women’s change room there are not enough vanity spaces, it looks like a few more are being put together, maybe a few more seats in from of the larger mirrors as well as this will become an issue down the line as the place gets busier with new members.

Title: Disappointed by Unfulfilled Promise at Altea Rating: ★★☆☆☆ I recently had the opportunity to show a guest interested in joining Altea and wanted to share my experience, which unfortunately left me disappointed. Altea made an enticing offer, promising that the price of the guest pass would be applied as a discount to my restaurant bill at Catalyst. However, due to the closure of Catalyst after 3pm, during my visit, my guest was unable to utilize this promised discount. Before purchasing the guest pass, I took the initiative to confirm this offer with the gym's staff, both over the phone and in person. Surprisingly, during these conversations, there was no mention of the restaurant's closing times, which would have been helpful information to know beforehand. As a result, we felt misinformed and disappointed when we discovered the closure after purchasing said guest pass. While I understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, it is important for businesses to communicate such changes effectively to their customers. In this case, I believe Altea fell short in ensuring that their guests were aware of the restaurant's operating hours. Aside from this disappointing aspect, I must mention that the gym itself provided a decent workout environment. The equipment was well-maintained, and the staff at the gym were friendly and helpful. However, the unfulfilled promise of the discount left a sour taste in my mouth and overshadowed the positive aspects of the gym. In the future, I would suggest that Altea improve their communication with customers by providing up-to-date information regarding any changes in their amenities or services. Transparency and clear communication are crucial to establishing trust and managing expectations. I also feel some form of compensation should have been given here for my guest, but they declined to do so. Overall, while Altea has potential, I cannot give it a higher rating due to the unfulfilled promise of the discount and the lack of communication regarding the restaurant's closure.

Updated: The pool area is now open! Along with other areas such as the salt lounge, cocktail lounge and game rooms the club has delivered on its promises. AlteaActive is an impressive fitness and social activity centre offering so much, from its core strength workout gym, fitness classes, childcare, golf simulation and game room there is much to keep you coming in. Atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. Cleaning teams to take care of the place. Social space allows for WFG capabilities with Wi-Fi 6 internet accessibility. Multimedia interactive displays for the cardio machines, aerobics room with silk styled hangers. Great addition to the growing King / Duffering community of growing neighborhoods.

Love the whole facility. You get modern, functional space with good equipment and unlimited classes. Happy with price/value added balance. Pool is great and saunas are perfect. My number one reason to go lately are the hot and anti gravity yoga classes mainly with Alex. He is an amazing yoga instructor, and the sound healing sessions are not to miss either! Thank you all!

The gym is beautiful, they have great classes and I've enjoyed my time here. However, there are times where I feel like the people who work at the front aren't very friendly or welcoming. I tried to bring a guest on a Wednesday mid-day and we were denied (the gym wasn't even close to being busy) We were told it is to prevent CLUTTERING during the week. Very odd to describe your members and guests as clutter. Why is there this stupid rule of bringing guests only on weekends? This seems completely backwards since the weekends are always the busiest. Pros - Great looking space - Really awesome amenities - Fun and challenging classes - They provide snacks like apples and bananas - Awesome treadmills Cons - Lockers are finicky, someone can definitely just reset your password and get in. I would never put something very important or expensive in it. - Hot Yoga studio isn't really hot (which is one of my favourite classes but I wish the temperature was a bit hotter) I TAKE THIS BACK - it's hot again! - The new guest policy sucks and I think they should consider lowering the price if you're a member bringing in a guest. - The squat rack weights are always all over the place and not organized. It's also such a busy area, you'll definitely need to wait to use it. (overall we need more space for working out)

Members are nice, made a lot if good connections among the members amenities are nice but not maintained the hit tub has been broken for months some times gym equipment breaks and that's fine its bound to happen with the a mound of people who use the space but again it takes months to fix a cable machine. For the amount a member ship cost to go here these things should be fixed asap. Also the catalyst is now not open a lot of the time for members because of private parties, which again with the amount of money you have to pay to be a member here that should always be open to us, I've worked in leadership positions in multiple corporate gyms and can assure you that they don't make decisions with the members in mind but strictly the bottom line, but the crowd that works out there is absolutely lovely.

Beautiful gym with great equipment. Lots of classes that are taught by amazing instructors. However, it’s way too busy and they seem to have oversold memberships. Given the cost, you’d expect the space to be less busy that GoodLife. But no. Also, staff don’t enforce etiquette meaning that people spend way too long sitting on equipment while on their phones and don’t out their weights away.

Mixed feelings about this one. Been coming here for about 6 months several times a week. Largely due to convenience because the only other gyms in liberty are small and overcrowded. For the price point, you would think Altea has more exclusivity but it can get ridiculously overcrowded during the rush. The staff are mostly polite but some are scummy. Don’t be afraid of the hot girl and gym buff aesthetic as there’s lots of average people who work out here too. Weights aren’t always put away but that’s on the members. Otherwise the benefits are that it’s always clean, lots of different machines and weights, generous classes and good times, nice sitting areas for work/study and good food options. Lockers and change rooms are nice too, and I didn’t use the pool / sauna or hot tub but they all look good. Plenty of parking but expensive if you overstay 2 hours. Ridiculous membership contracts though and they don’t make it easy to cancel.

Beware if you are joining this gym for childcare. The whole reason we joined was for the active kids club - (which does have excellent staff). It was marketed to us as a family friendly gym, then without any warning we were told that the hours of AKC changed in June and now would be closing at 6 pm weekdays compared to 8 pm. When we raised our concerns and asked for our membership to be frozen for the summer since this was not at all what we had signed up for and we are now unable to attend the gym on weekdays as our work day ends at 5 (we aren’t even able to even get to the gym until 6 or 7 due to heavy traffic in the area), we were told to upgrade to a diamond membership in order to pause for the summer months. We are already paying a substantial amount for two gold memberships that can’t be used more than twice a week, this feels like a greedy money grab. Not to mention they take more than 2 weeks to respond to emails. This gym makes it seem as though they are catering to families, but this is just not the case. If hours must be adjusted why close the childcare during prime hours instead of alternatively starting later? We feel deceived and extremely disappointed in the lack of customer service and treatment to members with children. We will be leaving this gym and going somewhere more reasonable.

DO NOT JOIN. You wont be able to get into any classes. I originally joined Altea Active because I wanted to do their classes, however they have had reduced class sizes, and are still selling memberships (ALOT). This leads to too many people looking for classes, over 90% of classes were full within 3 seconds of being able to book them. Too bad because its a nice gym, but don't join if you actually want to go to classes..

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. I joined this gym when it first opened and was very happy with it. However, I have noticed that the gym is always packed and there are no classes available for people like me who work 9 to 5pm. I have decided to cancel my membership and find another gym. In my opinion, the quality of everything is getting worse and I don’t think it’s worth the money.

If you're looking for a gym that has everything, Altea is the one. The gym is great and spacious. They manage to keep everything incredibly clean and organized even when it is super busy. A bunch of different classes. They also open up a lot of their amenities a couple times a month which has been awesome and hope they continue to do this more. But a MAJOR key component of this gym is the staff as they are all top tier. I've spoken to majority of the Personal Trainers there as well and they are all encouraging and supportive of everyone, not to mention all VERY knowledgeable. The smoothie bar staff also deserve special recognition in this review for being so social + fun. The gym is also very inclusive (Gender neutral change rooms and accessibility ramps/elevators/lockers) , friendly, and open to all those looking to spend time there. Excellent.

Took a tour of the facility last week as a few of my friends are members. It did not disappoint. April who was my guide and member coordinator did a great job of showing me all the amazing features the club has to offer. I haven’t joined a gym and properly worked out in over 12 years and really just want to target specific things. April was thorough in addressing all my needs and I’m happy to say I signed up today and brought a friend along to sign up too, as I was so impressed with the facility and its amenities. The club is very spacious and clean. I’m looking most forward to using their lounge area for work prior to all of my workouts.

I have had such a great experience since joining Altea! I am someone who loves community and working out along side folks that have the same passion for fitness and health as I do! The amenities, classes and environment that Altea offers is a unique experience that you can’t find anywhere else! The restaurant is a fun environment to meet up with friends before or after a workout- the menu is small but has great offerings that are tasty and with the daily specials, it keeps making you come back! If you’re new to the gym, definitely check out the smoothie bar- my personal favourite is the Blueberry Oat smoothie with a scoop of protein.

Altea is a great addition to Liberty Village. The gym is huge! All the equipment is current and easy to get access too. I love all the classes that they have to offer. They have added more classes so it is easier to book a slot now. The locker rooms are immaculate. So many options to get a workout, socialize, get a bite, work and repeat.I feel with such a big facility and with current global issues Altea has done a fantastic job of trying to impress and please all their valued Clients. I would highly recommend Altea for your new club.

We had the pleasure of attending a party hosted at Altea’s event space this past Saturday. The food, drinks, and service were excellent to say the least. In particular, we had a server named Michaela that went above and beyond to ensure each of us were looked after properly. Thanks to Michaela and the rest of the staff at Altea, we had a great time overall.

Good gym. Can’t complain. Also recommend it. One thing though Altea if you see this. Please do not oversell memberships cause I’ve been here since day 1 and it’s definitely gotten way busier to the point where sometimes it’s tough to even get a workout in cause every machine is taken and the free weight area is people standing on top of each other. Besides that keep up the good work and I appreciate the community update emails and the constant improvements!

It is a spectacular place. I have been training there in the afternoons for 1 year, and I have noticed the great change in the facilities. The only thing I don't like so much is that there are more and more people and sometimes it is impossible to train. The classes are excellent, especially in the study of cycling. I want to acknowledge that they recently changed the afternoon cleaning person, a friendly girl who attends to the cleaning needs that were required in the weight and cardio area, before there was a lot of dust everywhere and now it is a clean place. , all the people there are really very friendly. I love this new stage of the Altea gym

Awesome gym! I signed up because of the cycling classes! I really enjoy the Bolt Cycling Classes with Joseph. I found the classes to be a good alternative to cycling outdoors during the winter or on Zwift. I also really enjoyed the challenges that the gym puts out. There was a monthly running event that challenged me run more kilometres then I ever thought I would. The other amenities that the place has are exceptional from the swimming pool to the hot yoga classes! The gym has done a great job on minimizing overcrowding by minimizing gym membership sign-ups. I have been a part of many gyms in the past and this is the first time I have experienced that. Kudos to the Altea for caring about quality rather than profit!

Amazing facilities! I always look forward to going to this gym everyday. I have also started yoga regularly since Altea opened. The instructors are all great. Particularly Alex, his classes are very enjoyable. The sounds, knowledge, poses, breathing and heat make for an awesome experience. Thanks Alex!

Been going to this gym; for a year now. Overall, I like it. I enjoy the classes and the amenities like steam room and hot tub. However, the towels are laughably small, the shower stall doors don't locked, things are often broken and take forever to repair. The classes are hit or miss. My main issue is to price, so buyers beware. We paid the 99$ enrollment fee (which is so expensive) then signed up for the annual contract. When signing up, we were told that there would be no increases to the sign up rate. I was slapped with an extra 16$ a month for my membership. Overall, I don't think the experience matches price.

The biggest reason I go to Altea is for Alex's Detox hot yoga class. I have been going since the gym's opening as I needed to regain strength and flexibility. Since taking this class I've seen a noticeable positive change in my physical and mental well-being. Alex brings a science aspect to the practice which I appreciate having a science background myself. The class has a great vibe with the music and sounds he incorporates and he is always willing to help or answer any questions. I highly recommend giving Alex's Detox hot yoga class a try. It's really helped me in several aspects of my life.

Love this gym, the classes are amazing and it’s clean and very organized. Looses a star for lack of equipment and overcrowding at some points during The day, they need to convert that bowling room into a weight room if they want to keep getting members, around peak hours all machines are in use and you have to wait around. Staff at entrance is super polite and have found my overall experience here to be awesome. Love the classes all the instructors are awesome!

5 Star review but here is why! ZUMBA Honestly there is a lot to say about this gym. The communication and constant changes they are making, or say they will make but never do it annoying. HOWEVER- this review is getting 5 stars simply because of Alberto's zumba classes. I have never been to a class more fun and welcoming. Its unlike anything I have ever done. At this point I really only have my membership to go to those classes. He is a fantastic instructor who makes everyone feel so comfortable and makes sure the class is full of energy. Hands down the best instructor and best class at Altea and him and his classes alone are earning my 5 star review.

This facility is exceptional for Toronto and even North America. A multi level, all inclusive and spa like fitness facility in the podium of a new condominium is special. It's like staying at a luxury resort. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and well informed. Laura assisted me greatly in making my decision. Well priced and stacked with great qualified instructors. I'd highly recommended it!

**This is not a review for Altea Active. Gym hasn’t opened yet. This is a review for their personal training service being offered out of the temp location** I signed up for personal training through Altea with Will Romero. Will has been nothing short of amazing. I’ve been training with him for 3 weeks now and have absolutely enjoyed all my workouts. He keeps things interesting by moving things up and it’s evident that he knows his stuff. If you’re looking for a personal trainer, I highly highly recommend Will.

Loved this gym. Great staff, phenomenal amenities, and very respectful crowd. The gym was always clean and weights were always where they should be. I moved out of the area and had no issues cancelling. I informed the staff and it was mentioned in advance that two more payments would come out upon cancellation. Planned accordingly and no issues. Thanks again Altea! It was a pleasure.

Update: Recently became a member and so happy with the decision. As someone who is most interested in the classes offered, it is so worth the money. Love the facility as a whole and the amenities as well. Attended two of Alex’s Sound Healing Workshops and absolutely loved them. Truly a one of a kind experience and something I now look forward to each month. Not currently a member, but considering becoming one based on my experience!

Obsessed with Altea Active! My partner and I are big fans of the facility already (gym, pool, classes, personal training). Everything is top notch– shout outs for pilates with Sam, personal training with Alex, yoga with Melissa, the list goes on. The facility is very modern and clean, really can't think of a recreational facility that tops it. I also recently celebrated my partner's birthday here hosting about 25+ of our friends in one of their Top Golf rooms on a Saturday night. I couldn't have asked for anything better–the food, ambiance, flexibility and space was perfect for the event. They have a great selection of cocktails, beer and our guests really loved the food as well, which the menu was recently redone. We also liked we were able to decorate the space how we liked. We've struggled in the past to find private spaces for birthday parties, and we can't believe the best one was in the gym we go to. Everyone we dealt with was so friendly and easy to plan this with. In particular, Amber the Events and Community Specialist, was a dream to work with. She communicated clearly, quickly and made event planning a breeze. She made clear what options we had, confirming more details closer to the date. The servers who worked with us were kind, fast, and attentive. We will definitely be doing more events here in the future and have recommended it to our friends. We simply love everything about this facility and will not stop raving to our friends. You're missing out if you don't have a membership here.

The gym and the staff are unmatched! Great atmosphere, and amenities. Everyone I have interacted with, from staff, to other members have been nothing but helpful, kind and welcoming. Also, want to give a shout out to Melissa, she has helped me on numerous occasions, and has always been very patient and resourceful to make sure I had all the answers I needed, all while doing it with an extremely positive attitude. Highly recommend this gym!

Absolutely exceptional service at Altea Active's Smoothie Bar! Sam went above and beyond to make our experience delightful. His genuine smile and positive attitude made ordering our smoothies a pleasure. Not only were they incredibly efficient, but his product knowledge was impressive, helping us choose the perfect smoothies tailored to our taste. The service was swift, and the smoothies were not only delicious but beautifully presented too. Kudos to Sam for making our visit memorable! I’ll definitely be returning, thanks to their outstanding hospitality. 5 stars well deserved!

You can clearly see what you are paying for, this is an elevated experience all around. By far the best gym I've ever been, unlimited towels, steam room, lockers, good soap products and a large selection of weights and machines. Doesn't really compare to anything else in the area.

I absolutely love Altea. It’s become my happy place. I started going in May and was really nervous about using the weight area and machines. I hadn’t been in a gym in 3 years and was super intimidated. My first 2 month all I did was the classes. They have such a great range of options and the instructors are great. My favourite class is boxing with Tina or Will. They’re both awesome instructors. However, I really wanted to move away from the classes and find confidence in the machine/ weight area. I decided to take advantage of the free demo training session they offer and ended up doing 3 more sessions with trainer Camilo. This helped immensely for me to become more comfortable using the machines. I think the biggest thing that scared me was not knowing what I was doing and looking stupid. The training sessions were helpful for me to learn a bunch of different machines and gave me the confidence to start going in there alone. The app is also super helpful. Most of the machines have barcodes you can scan and they’ll show you a video of how to use it. I now use the weights and machines about 6 days a week. I even go in on some rest days just to use the steam and hot tub. The only downside is how crazy busy it can get during the day. I usually go around 9:30/10pm and it’s nice and quiet. The people at this gym are also amazing. The front desk staff is great and I noticed everyone minds their business while working out. I was so paranoid about looking stupid and not knowing what I’m doing but honestly nobody pays attention to anyone else. This gym also has a great range of machines. The only thing me and my gym friends all wish they had is a smith machine. It’d be such a great addition if they could make room for one. I also tried out the bowling and games area with some friends recently and it was so much fun. Overall I absolutely love this gym and I’m extremely proud of the progress I’ve seen since I started going. It’s such a positive environment and the staff works hard to keep the place clean. I’d highly recommend Altea to anyone considering joining. Update: They added a smith machine!!

I attend Alex’s detox, hustle flow and yin yoga classes, and they are all amazing. Alex is such a gem of a teacher, with a great energy that makes you feel safe in your practice. He always makes the practice all about your practice, not about doing moves “correctly”, but listening to your body. And he explains all the poses and what they do, giving you foundational training you would receive at a yoga teacher training course. His classes give you the physical, mental and spiritual benefits of yoga. I can’t say enough about what a fabulous teacher he is. He is my yoga guru. 💕🧘🏻‍♀️

If you’re looking for an environment that will inspire and motivate you to put your health and wellness first, this is it. The most unique gym facility I’ve ever been to. You can spend the whole day there with all of the amenities and options available, embedded into your workday, it’s definitely not a chore to get out to this “gym”.

New to the gym, but was blown away with how friendly everyone is and of course the gorgeous! Had a tour with with my girl Hannah and she made me feel so welcome and excited to go to the gym for the first time in literal AGES! She was so patient and accommodating and helped me figure out if the class schedule would work with my schedule - luckily there are soooo many classes that I found some that work! Hap my first spin class last night and I loved it. It really does have that extra layer of social club added to already impressive gym facilities and services. Thanks Hannah!

Best gym I've ever been to in Toronto. Worth the price. Wifi isn't the greatest but that's okay. The facility itself is really impressive - very modern. Huge ceilings. The equipment is great. Everyone is very nice and the other gym-goers are polite and friendly. Melissa at the front desk is also really awesome and has helped me graciously and with a smile several times. She's always warm and excited to see everyone. Highly recommend.

Signing up for Altea has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Great amenities, good food at the Catalyst, amazing staff! Margaret signed me up and explained which gym membership would be the best fit for my needs. She was super helpful and has continued to be helpful every time I run into her at the gym! Cannot recommend her enough if looking to sign up. I also do personal training with Abtin and he’s very professional. Every week he has a workout plan for me and it’s been a pleasure working with him. The overall Altea experience has been great and as someone who has never joined a gym until Altea, I highly recommend this one!

I started at Altea over a year ago and decided to join their personal training department. I started working with Heather in PT and it has been the most amazing year! Heathers encouraging and positive attitude every day that I trained really helped me learn to enjoy coming to the gym again. She is kind, patient and taught me to listen to my body. She completely transformed my outlook on exercise and health. Altea has become such a positive and happy place for me to get a workout in thanks to Heather!

Was anxiously waiting for months for Altea Active to open and it was well worth the wait! The facilities are amazing and modern. The place is clean and the staff are very friendly. I have communicated with them via email several times to ask questions and their customer service is great, they respond promptly and we’re able to help me. The classes I have attended have been challenging in the best ways, fun and the instructors have all been friendly, helpful and overall just amazing. The classes do fill up quick but I haven’t had issues going to the classes I’ve wanted to. Overall, I’ve tried various facilities and this one is my favourite so far as it’s a great value for what they offer and has a positive environment. Glad to have this nearby and to be part of this community.

Its a really good building. The units are rentals. The units are so well built with great views of CN tower and the Lake Ontario. I personally like the building and the amenities available. A worth seeing place if you are looking for a new home in Downtown Toronto.

My recent experience at Altea has left me deeply disappointed and dissatisfied with this gym. As a Diamond Member who has faithfully supported this club for a year, I expected better treatment and consideration. The facility and staff are amazing. The concerns are with management and the owners. I often use the Altea Catalyst Restaurant area for work, but I've noticed a change in recent months - the lights have been consistently dimmed, regardless of the time of day. Today, when the new General Manager of Catalyst dimmed the lights once again while I was working, I politely requested that they be brightened. To my surprise, I was informed that the owner prefers the dim lighting in the restaurant area. Unsure how often the owner frequents this gym space. This left me with no option but to move, disrupting my work and frustrating me immensely. For a club that relies on its members and values their loyalty, this incident conveyed a clear message that they don't truly care about member satisfaction or inclusivity. It's simply unreasonable to expect people to work in near darkness during daylight hours. This lack of caring does not take into consideration those with disabilities. I've referred friends and associates to this gym because I believed in its quality and service. However, my recent experience has shown that the club may prioritize the owner's preferences over those of its dedicated members. It's truly disheartening. I hope that Altea reevaluates its policies and choices to provide a more conducive work environment during the day and demonstrate a genuine commitment to member satisfaction.

Amazing vibe! Started PT with Jason Z at the pop up location on Blue Jays Way and loving it. I was nervous about restarting my wellness journey after the year plus we’ve had but the entire Altea Active team and Jason have made me feel welcomed and confident I can reach my goals. Excited for every PT session!

I've visited Altea a couple times now and the gym has pretty much all the equipment and amenities that a gym would need. Lots of space too. The only thing id wish they would provide more of is free guest passes as the gym is designed to be a social club but its quite difficult to come as a guest. The employees are also very friendly, the few times I've visited one of the workers named Oliver was super welcoming and easy to talk to. He was really helpful when I was there and definitely needed to give him an extra thanks.

Gym is really expensive for what it's worth, the classes are pretty good but often full and it's a scramble to try and get into a lot of them before they fill up. Really disappointed by the cancellation policy, you have to go in person to cancel and cannot over phone or email which makes no sense and is a money grab. Then you have to pay for an extra 30 days after you have already cancelled your membership. I moved out of the area (reason for cancelling) and so I wasted so much money having to find a way to go in, and then having to pay for an extra 30 days even though I'm not able to use the gym. You're better off finding a cheaper and more flexible option!

Altea hasnt even opened yet and I’m already impressed by their great customer service and perks! They offer amazing outdoor classes. So far I’ve tried bootcamp and pilates with Catherine and I must say that she is an amazing and motivating instructor and she always makes me feel so welcome when I come to classes even though its my first time and I dont know anyone. Can’t wait for the actual opening when I am able to full go to all of the classes and amenities they have to offer!

Attending Alex's Yin Yoga class with a Sound Bath tonight was truly an amazing experience! Alex is by far my favourite yoga instructor at Altea but lately I couldn't attend his classes because they were all during the day. Well, apparently Altea listened to our preyers and now Alex will teach many evening classes. I'm super excited for this! Alex's expertise in guiding us through the gentle and restorative poses of Yin Yoga was evident from the start. The class was perfectly paced, allowing us to relax and release tension in both body and mind. What made this class truly exceptional, though, was the Sound Bath. The soothing sounds and vibrations of the instruments used took the experience to a whole new level. It was like a healing journey for the soul. Alex's warm and calming presence made the entire session incredibly peaceful and grounding. If you're looking for a wonderful combination of Yin Yoga and Sound Bath therapy, I highly recommend Alex's class or the longer Sound Bathing monthly sessions. It's a beautiful way to take care of yourself and find inner balance. Thank you Altea for more evening classes with Alex!

Believe the bad reviews. They’ll find any way to charge you sneaky fees. They upper my rate without notice and charged my girlfriend for putting her membership on hold for vacation. Once they removed the hold, they charged her for having a balance that very day. Truly curious about this gyms financials since they seem to have taken a PR nosedive in exchange for the shady business practices.

Gym has everything you need gym-wise, plus a restaurant, a sushi stand, and a Starbucks! I got the best smoothie I ever had at any Starbucks there in Altea, prepared by Cody, friendly guy, too. Great workout experience and customer experience overall.

Really pleased with my decision to join Altea! Admittedly, there were some frustrations in the launch - regular delays, not all amenities open at first, issues with lockers. However, I can't really fault them for that as I know supply chain issues were a nightmare and they can't control timing for getting city approvals etc. plus launches are never perfect. Having said that their communication on updates was consistent and their service more than made up for any frustrations. Everyone I've spoken to on their staff has been lovely. Also the cleaning crew deserves a nod from what I've seen (especially compared to other gyms and public spas I've been) - never low on towels, showers, bathrooms and vanities are always clean. Kudos! Now that things are all up and running I am thrilled that I got my membership when I did. The facility is top notch with a lot of attention to detail. Everything is nicely maintained and cleaned. The pool area is phenomenal and I'm always surprised every time I go that it's somehow not too busy. Great equipment selection, love the all around wellness options (salt lounge, 2 different yoga rooms plus the quiet lounge before joining classes, hot tub and sauna, juice bar etc.). Hell, I even tried that Somadome thing that I would have told you beforehand was just a cutesy thing but I genuinely did enjoy. I haven't had a chance to fully use the restaurant and entertainment elements yet but from what I've seen and heard, they're also fantastic touches to making this a full community space. Also giving a nod to the guest day pass return/deal when getting a dinner at the restaurant over a certain amount - that was the biggest obstacle in me bringing people, so great solve. Also good to see so many community events happening there - really going above and beyond to make this a real social feel. Overall, really impressed with how it's come together and I'm happy with my membership. Hope to see this level of maintenance and exceptional service continue - I'll be a member for a long time!

Really enjoy a lot of aspects of this gym and the classes they offer. The facility itself is absolutely beautiful and you can tell they paid a lot of attention to small details. I’ve taken a handful of different classes and enjoyed the majority of them. Instructors can be a little bit or miss but it all depends on their individual training style. I’d like to call out Lionel (spin), Alex (yoga), and Zul (yoga) for being amazing instructors! All are accommodating, kind and push you to be a healthier individual. Some cons to the gym: - they very constantly run out of smaller towels and a lot of the time their towels aren’t pressed properly, have hair in them, or are still dirty. I think they get their towels cleaned by a third party company so that may be more on that company than Altea but still not good - the spin studio can sometimes feel like a sauna. When you’re doing an especially intense workout I’ve had to pull back out of fear that I may pass out. - for a high end gym I’d expect the showers to have more than a cheap body wash that dries out your skin. I would truly appreciate some good hair product, a face wash and a better body wash. For the time being I just walk home and shower there. All in all, I really enjoy coming to this gym and don’t have any plans of leaving anytime soon. Good job Altea Team!

This is easily the best fitness centre in all of Toronto. This place offers many different classes and training. And I felt that every class and every time I visit Altea was very welcoming. The staffs in the facility are super friendly and are willing to help on anything you request. The interior design in Altea is designed beautifully, it is perfect to complete any work in the first floor and on the second floor the environment instantly makes me want to workout. The catalyst bar on the first floor provides great services and food. Strongly recommended! Overall, this place is just amazing. There's no where in Toronto where I think it's better than here in Altea.

In love with this space. Best gym in the city. Get more Boxing classes after 4pm please!!! Also, I wish I had the option to “work from home” in order to take advantage of their alternative work space they provide.

The Zumba class with Alberto is the best! I didn’t think Zumba was for me and now I’m hooked and so is my partner. Alberto is a great dancer who possesses endless energy and his classes are fun and engaging and very popular! It’s a good, sweaty, endorphins-producing workout with great music and the folks attending the class are very lovely. Highly recommended!

One of the better gyms I’ve been to. Great equipment and a variety of class options. I love the core classes! I had the pleasure of meeting April who help set up my membership and made the process so quick and enjoyable. She was friendly and knowledgeable. Check Altea out if you are in the Liberty area. Ask for April!

I've been a member since April and cannot say enough about how great this club is. It's a huge facility with every class, equipment and service that you could possibly want. 25m pool, hot yoga studio, great cycle studio, sauna, steam rooms, the list goes on. But what makes this gym so great is the staff and instructors. Lionel(cycle) and Carolyn (yoga) are super motivating and go the extra mile to make your experience the best.

I started personal training at Altea when it opened. At first I was very skeptical of the personal training, having never done it before. I was planning on trying it out for a few weeks and then quitting after. Not only have I continued with it but I have actually INCREASED the number of sessions per week. Jason was assigned to be my personal trainer and I felt that Altea did a really good job matching up the client with the right trainer. He has been fantastic! While I had signed up to lose weight, I have been so surprised by the additional results. I have so much more energy and I feel so strong and powerful. For anyone who is unsure whether personal training is right for them, I would highly recommend Jason! He puts in a lot of extra time outside of sessions to make sure you are feeling good and will adjust the program to make it right for you. I would not have continued with the training had it not been for Jason!

Love this gym. Great amenities and gym is large with lots of equipment. My favourite aspect of Altea is the yoga which is included. In particular, the classes by Alex Petrogiani. I regularly attend his hot yoga detox and yin classes and they have been life changing. Alex is an amazing communicator and is the best yoga instructor that I have practiced with (and I’ve gone to many studios). Could not say enough good things about Alex and Altea. Very thankful

My favorite gym and my favorite smoothie bar! I've been a member for over a year now and it's great to see all the improvements Altea has made. I LOVE the new smoothie menu! My favorites are glow up in a cup and mint chip. The smoothies have gotten better, and the service has gotten better too (KK is the best! He gives great class reccomendations as well) Overall, I love Altea!

I had the pleasure of visiting Felipe's smoothie bar recently and was absolutely delighted by the exceptional service and, more importantly, the mouthwatering berry blast smoothie that Felipe prepared for me. Felipe's expertise and dedication to his craft were evident from the moment I walked in. Felipe's berry blast smoothie was a true revelation. The balance of flavors was impeccable, with a perfect blend of sweet and tangy notes that danced on my taste buds with each sip. The texture was velvety smooth, and the consistency was just right - not too thick or too runny. It was evident that Felipe took great care in selecting the freshest berries, ensuring that the smoothie was bursting with natural fruity goodness. What truly stood out, however, was Felipe's friendly and welcoming demeanor. He was not only a skilled smoothie maker but also an excellent customer service provider. He took the time to listen to my preferences and offered suggestions that showed his deep knowledge of the menu. His passion for creating delectable smoothies was infectious, and it made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Felipe's commitment to quality, along with his genuine enthusiasm for his work, makes his smoothie bar a standout choice for anyone looking for a refreshing and delicious treat. I will definitely be returning to Felipe's smoothie bar for more of those amazing berry blast smoothies, and I highly recommend his establishment to anyone in search of a delightful and refreshing experience. Felipe's skill, combined with his friendly personality, truly sets his smoothies apart from the rest.
