Left a review on yelp, but also leaving a review on google because I can’t believe this place has an over 4-star rating. Was sold an old eclair with spoiled custard. Carrot cake was decent, but the eclair was old and would make someone sick if they ate it. Saw yelp reviews about food poisoning and stale pastries, and really wish i had seen those reviews before swinging by here. Leaving this review on google in case it helps anyone avoid this place.

We were really excited to try this place, but the baked goods were just not good. The lemon bar had no lemon flavor and just tasted like a sugary short bread crust, the chocolate mousse bomb tasted like boxed chocolate pudding that used half as much flavor as it should. The rice crispy treat did not have enough marshmallows, the carrot cake was dry. The dogs did seem to enjoy the cheese danish we got them, so can give a star for that. Definitely don't get the cold brew - it tastes like dirt (usually a sign it has been sitting too long and mildewed) and then they add water to it after its poured. This place is not worth checking out.

Mocha cold brew was excellent. Customer service was wonderful. I had the twisted turkey sandwich and it was great. The only disappointment was this chocolate bomb I saw and thought I would try, it was good but not great and I was surprised considering how good everything else there was. I will be going again to try other menu items as well and I would absolutely recommend checking out this spot.

Front counter younger folks who bag pastries and the older gentleman washing dishes in the back are NOT included in the review. They are always lovely. I have used Wagners for many years for catering, typically out of necessity as they are next to my work on the capitol campus. I've always been a customer meeting friends there many times for a quick bite. Over the last 5-6 years the service has deteriorated. There are 3 or so women who are either decorating, making sandwiches, or running the register who are just rude. As a former retail worker I am forgiving of a few bad interactions since we are all human. However, at this point it has been so consistent I can't justify it. Unnecessarily short, rude, and just generally seem to hate their job. My latest visit was a group of six of us out for a lunch. Now, four of us have food poisoning and one person has been hospitalized with food poisoning. Bad service is one thing, but so many people sick? You have to have amazing food to be that cranky to customers, and this food ain't it. What was once a nice little bakery feels it has been reduced to an overpriced box grocery store pastry case with bland food, and apparently dangerous food.

I always visit this bakery every time I am in Olympia. The pastries are very good as are the iced lattes.

Super cute and absolutely amazing out of this world sweets and food. Their sandwiches are a work of culinary art, making your taste buds dance and your body happy on a cold over cast WA day. Their coconut lemon bars are my favorite or maybe it's their molasses cookies with that huge piece of candied ginger? The coffee, even black, is yummy as well. This is a definite must go and revisit!

They always have fresh baked goods! We've tried quite a few and have been more than happy each time! The staff are all really friendly, and are quick to help you! Super clean on the inside, and everything was very affordable!

It’s so disappointing when you try in place a large dessert order, and the service is less than positive. I hope McKenzie understands that when people ask questions regarding your desserts is because we don’t know how you create and present your goods. This experience was not fun.

Ordered a custom cow cake for my daughter's second birthday and it came out even better than I was expecting! So adorable and tasted delicious! I will definitely be ordering from them again in the future!

Poor customer service. Went there for the first time this morning. There was one other customer there and two people working. The first one asked what I wanted and before I could finish my sentence, which was "I'm not sure, it all looks so g--", she cut me off rudely with a clipped "Well, when you make up your mind let me know" and walked away. The second employee came out to the counter where I was standing so I started to ask about what appeared to be a chocolate croissant and she cut me off with "I can't help you." And went back to the kitchen. So I left. Business must be good to treat customers like that...but they'll never get mine.

Went there to try the pastries. They were okay, not worth the price in my opinion. There wasn't much of a selection the two mornings I went and the pastries tasted like they had been sitting for awhile. If you are willing to pay $3 to $5 for a pastry, then there are better places to go.

My go to place for a cake or pie. They made the cake for my babies gender reveal party and it was perfect! Beautiful and delicious. The bavarian cream filling is my favorite. Their hot chocolate and every pastry ive tryed are very good. They're making me a bee hive cake with lemon and strawberry filling for my baby shower that i cant wait to try!

Best eclair I've ever had! There was actually enough cream filling AND chocolate topping! The double chocolate muffin was also excellent. Definitely try it if you want something very chocolatey 😄

Been going to this bakery for most of my life and they never disappoint. One our family all time favorite is the cinnamon bread. So much, our son asks us to send it to him all the way to Texas. And did I mention their cakes and pastries?! The cakes are always top notch.

Called to request 2 birthday cakes, it was quickly and simply done. Arrived on the day/time to pick them up, same outcome. The cakes looked amazing, and were delicious.

Many tasty, fresh bakery offerings here. Sadly, they have cut our favorites, their 'Turks Head chocolate rum cake and their chocolate eclairs, from their line. Find them at Olympia's Farmers Market on Saturdays.

Bought four Halloween theme cupcakes yesterday. They were horrible. The frosting tasted like soap and the cupcake tasted like dirt. Also bought an almond puff pastry that had such an overwhelming flavor of synthetic almond that one bite was all I could take. After swiping my card at the checkout counter, the very unhappy looking girl checking me out turned the screen to sign towards me, turned around and walked away. Not a single thank you or smile the entire time I was there.

The staff is mean and disinterested. I ordered a chocolate Cupcake which was good but the hot chocolate made there only tasted like milk even though I paid extra for the caramel syrup, it didn't taste like anything. The main problem anyway was an employee who was disrespectful to me for the simple fact that my English is not perfect. I do not recommend the place!

I have loved this place since I was a kid and my Oma would bring me. I recently moved back to the area and had to bring my fiancé to try my favorite bakery and we truly enjoyed both items we had. We also bought their incredible cinnamon bread and will be back for more 😃

Yum!! They make some of the best cinnamon bread I have ever had! Everything I have ever had there has been delicious. The staff is always very friendly and nice. Definitely recommended for lunch, or a treat!

The german chocolate cake was so gross. How disappointing it had dry hard buttercream. Which gross buttercream with way to many nuts down the side the batter was dry what a waste of money. Definitely ruined my birthday.

Every time I go to Washington to visit my daughter I make sure I go here a few times. This reminds me of the great bakeries that used to be around back home. Fresh, made from scratch goods that are absolutely the best. Very nice employees too.

We have purchased two wedding cakes, an anniversary cake, and baby shower cakes from Wagner's along with numerous other baked goods. They always do a great job. Their wedding cakes are the best I've ever had - large portions and guests come back for seconds. They always deliver to the venue on time. I highly recommend this bakery. Carrot cake we bought a few days ago was delicious.

The reputation for this place proceeds itself. I heard many good things, so I had to go check it out. Overall it is a solid Bakery. The staff are also very friendly and easy to interact with. Food: 10/10 The pastries, desserts, sandwiches, soups, and other food items are all very well made! I've had many of their items and everything tastes fresh and well flavored. No complaints here. Drinks: 6/10 The drinks here have been very hit and miss. I've had a few different coffees, americanos and mochas and such. Some of them have been all right, but several have been pretty watery without a strong coffee taste. I'm sure I'll end up coming back here again and getting another drink, so if this changes I will update this review. Atmosphere: 7/10 It's a cute shop, but feels cold and empty inside. That might sound kind of like a contradiction, what I'm trying to say is that the place definitely has a vibe, an atmosphere of a family-owned bakery. But at the same time it doesn't have really that much character, like it's grown dull and outdated over the years. Overall a solid place for a quick lunch or snack. I usually come here about once a month so if anything changes I will update this review.

We stopped by this place on our way back to Seattle. Definitely should have read some of the reviews before stopping here. Young women who were working were welcoming and nice. The woman taking our order for food was RUDE. My husband went to order a croissant breakfast sandwich and he was rudely told there are no croissants as if we were supposed to know they didn't have any croissants. Maybe post a sign or let people know what you have and don't upon entering. The food was just okay, nothing to write home and about or let others know if they are on the road it's a good place to stop at.

Over this past month, I needed a rush birthday cake, which Wagner's was able to write a greeting on while I waited. It was a chocolate/chocolate cake with chocolate ganache filling from the chilled case. Totally delicious! I've been going to Wagner's for weekend waffles or lunchtime sandwiches for almost 15 years. The quality is always good and the European-style bakery goods are delightful. After careful local research, I can say that Wagner's cheese Danish have the most and best filling of all the local bakeries. Scones, cookies, brownies, red velvet mini-cakes, cupcakes decorated like flowers, carrot cake slices, and coffee drinks to go with them are a major part of the Wagner's story. You can also find a branch of this family-owned local business at the Olympia Farmers Market most weekends. Friendly service and wonderful treats: 😊

A lovely place! The service was wonderful, very kind and accommodating for my toddler. The pastries were EXCELLENT, not too sugary and perfectly made. I'd recommend the marzipan horns especially. Thank you!!

Wagner's made the cake for my wedding earlier this month. Jackie was excellent in creating a design that matched what I was looking for. Our cake was three layers, with pink champagne cake for the top and bottom and chocolate cake in the middle. The whole cake had raspberry filling and a buttercream frosting. Jackie was helpful with my questions about possible food allergens for the ingredients. The cake was beautiful and was better than I could have imagined! It also tasted delicious! I'm not normally a cake kind of person, but this was so good. It was light, moist, and beautifully crafted. Thank you again for making such a lovely cake for our wedding day.

First time eating and had a good experience. The sandwiches looked perfect and tasted great. We bought a lemon bar and carrot cake to bring home. Wife and I just ate it and it tasted exactly like we thought it should. Flavorfull and rich, recommend this for a afternoon lunch or treats for later.

Ordered a triple berry pie for Easter. Opened it to serve and it was cherry. Ordered a dozen butterflake rolls which are very good. They were jammed in a small plastic bag and many were broken. Went in to pick up my replacement pie which I was told was ready and there was no pie. Who's on first? Had to return the next day to pick up my triple berry pie. Wagner's made it right, but I would recommend opening the box before you leave the bakery and reiterate your conversations with staff when on the phone. Pastries are rather expensive, but many are very tasty.
