SO GOOOOOD! I can't believe I just found out about this truck. The breakfast waffle was one of my favorite breakfasts I've ever had and the chicken was so bomb. My girlfriend and I ate it up in like a few minutes and had to get some dessert ones too which were delicious. I just wish they were open late at night this would be amazing bar food too late at night!!! honeycuspe is legit!

My wife and I have been frequenting the Northwest Beerwerks beer garden for about four years (finally... a timeframe I can reference that doesn't make me seem that old). Throughout this time we've fallen in love with Boka Island Fusion, another food truck at this pod, and have eaten there on many an occasion. About two years ago we couldn't help but notice this pretty new pale yellow truck inserted in the back of the pod. A little hard to find if you're just driving by, though certainly alluring. This truck was closed at the time as this was particular visit was a little later in the evening. We read the name, "honeycuspe - fine belgian waffles and espresso". Instantly we were intrigued and ready to try. We made a plan to come back the next morning and see what honeycuspe (pronounced with a lowercase "h") is all about. Well, those plans didn't really end up working - we slept in and forgot. Next time we were at the Northwest Beerwerks food truck pod, we rediscovered this place and planned again to come back the next morning and give honeycuspe a try. Well folks, we slept in again. And again. Repeat for two years until yesterday we were driving back from the vet (just a check up, Shaggy's fine) and incidentally drove right past this truck. Finally we were A.) not sleeping and B.) here while honeycuspe was C.) open. Two years in the making! (not including active prep time). This could not have been a more pleasant experience. The person who took our order was delightful and we had a little chat about our dogs - even got a little treat for him on the house. Food came out in about 20 minutes which was very impressive considering the long line they had accrued. I ordered the "Breafkast (sic)" and my wife the "Classic" chicken and waffles. First, I must say the Breafkast waffle was hands down one of the best breakfast items I've had to date. Eggs cooked perfectly to my specification, wonderful sweetness of the bacon and smoked aioli all in a happy marriage with the waffle underneath. Never thought it would be something I would order but now it's all I want to eat for breakfast. I also ordered a small piece of fried chicken on the side - absolutely stunning. This is some of the most tender and wonderfully-seasoned fried chicken I've ever had the pleasure of gobbling. Since I am a bit of a chicken expert myself, I had to pry a bit at their techniques... apparently they brine AND soak. Well, this is the way to do it, folks. This'll be one of those places I'm always going back to planning on trying everything but only ever ordering the same thing because it's so darn tasty. A masterpiece collection of fine belgian waffles with unique and all the more brilliant toppings. Needless to say, we won't be sleeping in anymore on Sundays.

The absolute best waffles I've ever had in my life. This is gourmet food from a food truck. The waffles are light crispy and fluffy. You will walk away full but it doesn't sit heavy on your stomach. The flavors are amazing. We've had the BLAT, PB waffle, the breakfast waffle and the bananas foster. All of them amazing. If you try them you will not be disappointed. If you are, you probably have an off palate or just unhappy with everything in life anyway. 😁

although there were a lot of good reviews on here there were some not so stellar that almost!! put me off trying this place. Soooo glad I went to experience it myself. Very cold out this morning but our waffles were warm and absolute perfection!!! We ordered the Strawberry Compote sheesh that was amazing!! and the breakfast with eggs, bacon, and aioli sauce w a sprinkle of chives c’monnn that was gorgeous five star! We tried the mocha and yess that was a delicious cup of coffee. They tell you how long it will take and it is just right. We live in Oregon 2.5 hours away but man I would be taking my fam here every weekend if I could.Thank you to the employees you did amazing :)

Husband got the banana foster and I got the cran orange punch (was so excited to see this flavor combination!) my husband finished his before we even got home! really unique look and taste to these, usually not waffle people but they were delightful. Light and yummy. We'll definitely come back every now and then :)

They are now using a new name and transitioning over. Holt cow, these are some freaking amazing waffles. Light, crispy, and so tasty. We tried four total. The Breakfast, The Maple Bacon, PB Nirvana, and Strawberry & Lemon compote. I added an egg to the Maple Bacon for more of a savory experience. They have not ever disappointed us.

Overall, very disappointing. I came early when they hadn't been open very long, so I can't imagine they were terribly busy. The workers were gruff and seemed unhappy. I ordered the "Classic," a waffle with fried chicken. The food took a long time, and I didn't see any other customers. The "maple syrup" that the meal came with is 100% not real maple syrup. More like high fructose corn syrup with maple flavoring. It was thick and unappetizing. I would have maybe enjoyed it as a young child. And in any other city, maybe this would be fine. But Olympia is very health-conscious place, and in general when you get a meal around here it doesn't feel like eating junk food. I really wanted to enjoy this place more, and maybe some of their other selections are better, but there are plenty of other places in town where the food is reliable and they'll greet you with a smile. The coffee was pretty good.

Came here because a friend recommended this place. Except for the classic chicken waffle, the two other waffles we ordered were overly done (bordering burnt). Needless to say, we were quite disappointed.

Can’t beat the quality and flavor variety of this place. They even change seasonally for your taste bud needs. Bonus: Eric, the owner is super nice too. Thank you guys for being such a neat staple in the community! 🤗

Food truck with seating area. We got 2 build-your-own waffles. Took a while for our food to be made, but boy, was it worth the wait! Super delicious!

First and last time eating here. The cashier/cook was very unfriendly. The food took about 20 minutes to cook, when it should take no more than 5-10 minutes, TOPS. The waffles were ok but a bit overdone and entirely overpriced. The servings should be triple the size for the price. I don’t get why people seem to like this place so much? Never again for me. Update: To address the owner’s response, yes, I reviewed the correct business. I stopped by while I was visiting, expecting good food and service based on reviews. I got neither. For the money you’re charging, the value just isn’t there. ONE small waffle with a small topping for $10-20 is a ripoff, even by local standards. The ingredients cost you maybe a couple bucks, and it’s a simple food truck operation, not a restaurant. But hey, we live in WA so as usual anything goes, right? And I stood in the cold for 20-25 minutes waiting for my food. No eggs, no chicken, no time estimate. The girl took my order like it was a burden. There were TWO people ahead of me who also seemed to have been there for a while. I stand by my review. The food wasn’t worth the money or the wait.

We stop at Honeycuspe every time we drive down to Portland. The Classic chicken and waffles has my heart, but I try something new every time and am consistently battling myself with what I consider my favorite. I think the price is perfect for portion size. Not sure what people are complaining about with prices in the some of the other reviews. Everything except the chicken is listed at like $7 or $8.

Today is my brothers 16th birthday and he loves Belgium waffles! We are visiting from Wisconsin and enjoy trying new places. This place came highly recommended so we gave it a try. Unfortunately, the individual working had a poor attitude and came off quite rude. And we were the only people there so she wasn’t necessarily busy. Our waffles were also extremely disappointing. We ordered 5 waffles and they were all very dry and hard. Something tasted off with the batter and they were for sure over cooked. It shouldn’t hurt your mouth to bite into a waffle and they weren’t even cut-able. We honestly ended up throwing a lot of the waffles out and ordering tacos from the food truck next to it. I’m always willing to try places more than once, in case the workers are having an off day, because that doesn’t represent the food quality on a normal day. But due to the workers attitude, our money will be spent elsewhere. I hope nobody else experiences this because I truly enjoy supporting small businesses.

Kristen is the best! She makes my oat milk lavender latte perfectly! And the waffles are to die for. We love the Dalmatian waffles with bananas added to them! My daughter loves their sausage & bacon too. An extra special hug for Kristen and how hard she works! Out to the owner: hire someone else to help this gal on weekends! Thanks for everything!

Great brunch spot! Quick, decently priced and overall good food! We were down in Olympia to run an errand and came across this place. They have this lot with a few tables and a few food trucks. Parking lot across the street. This place had both sweet and savory options to cover both my husbands and my tastes! Definitely 10/10 would recommend going and going again!

Ordered the breakfast and OG (fried chicken) and ate it right away. Both were delicious and totally worth the wait. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The waffle was on the crispy side to hold up the sauces which was understandable. I can see that being a great benefit for the desert waffles. The breakfast was really well done. Everything tasted good separately and together. Love it!

This is one of the best places i have ever eaten. Normally you go to a place that cooks breakfast cuisine and automatically have an idea of what you're going to get/what your food is going to look and taste like.. I must say I was blown out of the water.. they have dishes with ingredients you would never even think of putting together, but yet they work so well together. The flavor in their dishes is immaculate and I've never had food grip onto my soul like this places does. They have an amazing location here next to one of the busiest roads in Olympia. Make a stop and get “The Local Goat” if its on the menu, and i promise you will not be disappointed. 10/10 in my book.

Unfortunately the pictures looked way better than the food during my visit. Perhaps it was an off day when my wife and I stopped by to get a breakfast waffle and a chicken and waffle. My first issue, It was not a busy day maybe 2 or 3 other families present and somehow the food was cold except for the fried chicken. Second issue the chicken was extremely burned or the oil was dirty and it got stuck to the chicken which made the breading very hard to eat. Waffle was ok but I bet much better if warm. The breakfast waffle had a good flavor mix but like mentioned above it was cold.

Went to Abe’s yesterday for the first time and was blown away by the deliciously tasty and eye appealing food. We had the breakfast, both sausage and bacon, chicken and waffles aka The OG and the bananas fosters waffle. Will definitely go back till I’ve tried every waffle flavor.

**Update*** Very quickly after my first review, they saw it and remade and hand delivered my order. I did not expect or ask them to. They just wanted to make it right. That is very awesome and amazing customer service. The new waffle that they made was delicious. I wish I got a photo of the new waffle, but I ate it up too quickly. Great customer service. I'm looking forward to trying a savory option next. I was so excited to try this place, but unfortunately, my first time was not a good experience. My waffle was so burnt that it was inedible. I ate just the toppings (which was good), but I took one bite of my black waffle, and it left a bad burnt taste in my mouth. I'm not sure why they served it like this instead of remaking it. Unfortunately, I ordered to go and did not check it before I left. I am hoping this was a fluke and that they just had a very off day. I plan to give them one more chance and update my review. Also, just a side note, they are card only, no cash.

As always, Abe’s Waffles delivered a special treat. I ordered to surprise a friend on their birthday. Online ordering gives you the flexibility for pickup time and ability to customize! Michelle made it extra special with birthday sprinkles and message on container. The quality of food is always spot on and we make it our weekly stop.

Kind of disappointed with our waffles today. My wife and I got 2 Breakfast waffles and 1 dessert waffle. Our breakfast waffles were burnt, and I found a hair in mine, the eggs werent completely cooked, a lot of the egg white was goopy. Didn't really want to go back and complain as they seemed really rushy and busy, so we ate what we could... $32 I feel is a lot of money for what we just encountered. I'm sure it was just an off day as they're usually good, just disappointing. The desert waffle was good though, so that was nice. The workers were also nice and friendly.

What great food! We drove from South Tacoma to Olympia to try this and we will definitely be back. The green goddess has great balance with a crispy waffle, creamy avocado, perfectly cooked eggs, sprouts and seeds. The boy on maple bacon featured another crispy waffle with perfectly cooked bacon and delicious organic maple syrup. We also had a side of sausage with had a nice spicy kick and a side of the famous chicken which was crispy and juicy and flavorful. 10’s across the board and we can’t wait to make our way through their menu!!!

These waffles are excellent. Light, crispy, beautiful to look at, extremely tasty. This is my kids' favorite brunch. Bacon is extra crispy. They're about a 30 minutes wait most of the time. Worth the wait, but come prepared or call in. It's a food truck with a couple others nearby. If waffles aren't your thing but you want to satisfy the kids, there's a Mexican truck and a bbq place to feed the whole family next to it too.

The dalmatian and the breakfast waffles are amazing! 11/10 would recommend!

  • 3/5 Raven C. 1 year ago on Google
I really wish I could give 5 stars, when they are packaged well, with the wet ingredients separated from the waffle they are amazing! But a lot the time they arrive soggy because that didn't happen. It impossible to know what your going to get and at that price it's hard to be willing take the risk. If good to go packaging becomes consistent then I will absolutely change my rating to 5 stars, I hope that happens some day.

Fabulous waffles. This is the mocha mojo -a dessert waffle. We also enjoyed their breakfast waffle and the local goat. ( so good) The waffles were light and crispy and the toppings amazing. Excellent service. Well worth the stop! We will be back

Let me just say I've only been here once but I will be back as soon and as often as I can!! I got a chicken and waffles meal it came with a chuck of freshly fried crispy boneless chicken. It was so big the lady handed it to me and said I'll let u smash it to be able to close the to go box! That's awesome for the price we pay for food they have a good deal right there. I'm so glad I was able to try it.

Been here twice and was delicious both times. Service was quick and super polite. Waffles are about $7 and I'd say it's fair for what you get. Got coffee both times and it was great. Definitely worth a visit or a few. I will be going back myself :)

I have been coming to Abe’s since the business started. They are amazing and friendly people. The food is always excellent and I would say they have large portions. 110% worth what they are charging. As they run a food truck sometimes there can be a wait but the food is always hot and delicious. I love that they are creative and come out with new specials. I also love recommending friends to stop in……. No one has ever complained…. Unless they are mad I told them about Abe’s because it is so good and they want to go more often.
