Had some time to kill. Saw this place on the map and figured I would check it out. Reviews are on point. Had the crispy duck fusilli with mushroom sauce. It was an amazing dish. The sauce wasn't too heavy and the duck was cooked perfectly. Highly recommended if you are in the area.

The only reason I’m not giving this 5 stars is simply because they seemed to have “forgotten” about us when we were seated and it took about 15 min before we had a server meet and greet us. That was the ONLY hiccup in an amazing food extravaganza resplendent with great service and fabulously tasty food. Presentation 5-star! Taste - awesome. Portion sizes - good god, I’m so full I can barely move. Super generous. All made in-House. We finished off with a freshly baked flaky warm raspberry pie made to order. Superb. Worth the drive from Toronto!

Don’t you love finding an excellent restaurant by accident? We were near Orangeville and hungry so thought we’d try this interesting looking place. Staff were excellent, the place is comfortable yet classy and we were served promptly. The food blew us away! I love clubs and this was the best I’d ever had. Soup was delicious, and the butter chicken was tender with a great sauce. It is worth a trip to Orangeville!

Very much enjoyed my thai wrap & fries that were cooked perfectly. I enjoyed having a large water bottle in the table, as i was very thirsty. Efficient, pleasant staff. Very busy at 1:30 on a Friday, obviously a popular spot. Raving to my friends.

We were at Mono Cliffs for the day for hiking and decided to stop by at his restaurant to have late lunch. I was very impressed by the friendly staff and the delicious food we had. The grilled calamari was so tender and tasty, it was one of the best I have ever had. The pizza and the salad were great too. This place is highly recommended! After 10+ visits on our own or with friends and family we have always been extremely satisfied. The food is not just good relative to local restaurants, it competes with the best in the region. Service is friendly. A community staple.

Stopped in here on our way to Hockley Valley. Was pleasantly surprised. Delicious food!! Can’t express that enough. The best blue cheese dressing I’ve ever had (homemade) definitely stop in if you’re in the area.

Delicious! First time at The Forage for a Saturday lunch. The Vegetarian Burger was the most delicious burger I have ever had! My sister had the Thai chicken wrap and said it was a burst of freshness, flavour and textures. The service was very delightful (thank you Ann!) and we look forward to coming back again soon!

As a raging foodie in Orangeville I'd say, hands down, Forage is the best restaurant in Dufferin County. The quality, consistency and over the top yumminess of food is always spot on. The staff is friendly, fast and on point. When choosing your next food excursion in Orangeville put Forage on the top of your list!

Fortunately Orangeville has many Great independent restaurants that are a must visit, Forage is no exception!! Great food, fresh ingredients, friendly and efficient servers, a must visit. Notable mention, although quaint, not the largest restaurant, limited table seating.

The food was great! The appetizers and mains were delicious. I had the calamari and mussels for appetizers and angelhair pasta for my main. I would definitely go back!

Stopped in for a late lunch after a hike in the area. Their forage salad was just the ticket - exactly what I wanted. Delicious. Looking forward to a return visit.

We came here for our anniversary and the food was absolutely delicious. Service was great and prompt. Portion sizes were very generous. The atmosphere was cozy. We will definitely be returning. An easy 5* all around. I wish I got a picture of the Forage Salad, it's definitely a must have, but our main dishes were also delicious - Hats off to the chef.

We like to meet up with friends from Barrie for periodic get togethers over lunch. This leads to frequent Google searches for the best places to eat midway between Barrie and Guelph. And this is how we discovered Forage. Our party chose the goat cheese and beet salad, beer-battered fish and chips, crispy duck stir fry, and the chicken gado salad with quinoa - an Indonesian dish. All of the meals were attractively plated, of generous size and very tastey. The service was great. Highly recommended.

The food was good. The service was friendly. The bathrooms were clean. The only thing that bothered us was that the 2 metres rule was not enforced. We sat at one of the booths, and customers were seated in nearby tables. I think the restaurant should consider either moving some of their furniture or leaving some tables empty to meet the 2 metres rule. I was recently at another restaurant, and they had every other table empty to meet this guideline.

I had the most incredible lunch here. Spinach and ricotta ravioli from the daily special menu, with cream tomato sauce and walnuts. The sauce was delicious, the nuts added the perfect texture, and the ravioli was toasted to add a wonderful nutty flavour. I can’t stop thinking about it! For dessert, the crepe was out of this world (pictured). Candied berries and a light cream filling - I was blown away. Service was also friendly, and I was impressed to see the chef/owner come out of the kitchen to check on diners and talk. Prices were also reasonable, especially for the quality, and atmosphere is nice. Will definitely be back. Perhaps the best restaurant Orangeville has to offer.

Fantastic experience! The food was incredible, the atmosphere was just right, and the service was exceptionally friendly. My main reason for coming here was their vegan menu, which was amazing. I've already returned and plan to keep coming back – the drive is definitely worth it. What makes this place stand out is its inclusivity, catering to non-vegans, but also to vegans with equal perfection. It's an ideal choice for groups, especially when you have a mix of dietary preferences, as everyone can enjoy their meal to the fullest. Don't forget to call ahead and make reservations.

The chicken burger is great. I love it so much. Butter chicken is highly recommended too.

The quality of the food is just superb. I usually get the butter chicken which is incredible. Basically anything on the menu is going to taste great because it is made with farm-to-table ingredients. Service is down to earth and more sincere. The menu is smaller because it is simply better to do a few things very, very well than to many things adequately.

Excellent. Table of 8 for dinner. Great wine list. Carla was quick, efficient, friendly, knowledgable and funny. Food came out at once, noone waiting. Hot fresh and delicious. Everything made on site. Great ambiance. Busy, make reservations. Everyone at our table enjoyed the evening! Thank you.

It's a very small space with lots of tables so not much space to move around. The food was good. I ordered crab cakes and a cob salad. Both these meals were cooked in a way I could have easily made myself at home. It's a good place to get homecooked meals but way overpriced for something I could easily make at home. When I received my cob salad, I was very confused. There was no corn or avocado in it, there was chicken in it without it being said on the menu description, and the onions were white onions instead of the normal red onions. Also presentation of the salad was great but not practical when eating it. The onions were massive still, egg slices pretty large as well as the tomato pieces. I had to cut my salad before I could eat it. Overall it just felt like a confusing experience and no offer to pay less for the lack of items I had on my salad that I was supposed to get.

Food is prepared expressly to order. Nice variety on menu and generous servings.

Went on a recommendation of a friend. Appetizers were good dinners sucked big time. Seafood dishes (we had one each) were brutal. Way overcooked because they were freezer burnt. Will not go back again. Can I give a zero star?

The food was delicious. I had the chicken gado and my husband had the butter chicken. Both dishes had a generous amount of chicken. Unfortunately, when we picked up the order they forgot to include the soup my daughter had ordered. We didn't realize until we got home. My son-in-law had to drive back to pick it up. When he got back home we were shocked at the tiny container of soup, especially at $11. The restaurant didn't offer him anything for the inconvenience. The mains are a much better value compared to the salads and soups.

Met some long time friends for dinner tonight. We all travelled to Orangeville because it’s sort of central! Next time we meet at Forage will be because of the delicious food and the excellent service! My crab cakes were superb and the sauce was great! We stayed past closing time (sorry!) but we were not rushed out the door! Try Forage - you won’t be disappointed!!

The service was wonderful and the portion sizes matched the price! I went with my family for my parents 32nd anniversary and we all had a different dish but sampled each other's food and ordered appetizers. Overall, I would highly recommend this place.

My friend and I met in Orangeville last week for lunch, and decided to eat at the Forage Restaurant.  A very good decision!  I had the Shrimp and Scallop Curry; it was loaded with fresh vegetables and had a good portion of seafood.  The curry was delicious.  Just a thought...if you also offered this dish with the vegetables and instead of the seafood, substituted roasted tofu...that would be a great option for someone on a vegetarian diet.  My friend has dietary restrictions, and there were not too many choices for her.  The service was wonderful.  I'm already planning my next visit!

Beautiful experience! We received a warm & friendly welcome. We were seated in a sweet spot for our birthday dinner. Great eclectic atmosphere with different pieces of art. The butter chicken, curried seafood entrees were so good, but the thai muscles and grilled calamari were delicious! The arctic char was not available by 6:30, but they offered salmon in its place. The dessert choices were great (but none as a gift for birthdays; however, they will provide a candle if you like). Our server was incredible as they navigate the 4 hour opening with grace & accommodation.

The chef was in the kitchen eating while preparing the food. He then changed his food to the left hand in order to grab the already cooked pasta with his right hand (bare and unwashed) and threw it in the pan. No mask ,gloves or even a hair net. Gross and unsanitary. Aren't they concerned with covid?? Personally I don’t care how good the food is if it is unsafe.

Everything was perfect. Fast but not pushy service. In fact, our server anticipated our needs a split second before we did. Excellent food. We wolfed down the Caesar salad...couldn't help ourselves. The margarita pizza was exquisite, as was the pasta. We came up from Toronto to walk the Bruce Trail and, frankly, didn't except much in the way of restaurants. Were we surprised!

Wow, what an awesome place. The food was delicious, so tasty! The service was excellent too, Simone was friendly, helpful and genuinely cared that we had an great experience. We really enjoyed our meal tonight and will definitely be back!

We went there for dinner the restaurant was empty only one other couple there, the service was terrible. We finally ordered and our apps came out was extremely greasy. Took a bite and it was not good, told our waitress she took away did not offer if we wanted something else. Then our main course came out and my husband sandwich was soggy took two bites and sent it back, my salad was excellent! We get the bill and they fully charged us on both his app and dinner we said something then watched the cook pick through his meal and took his main meal and said charge him half price for his main meal. Not impressed at all with service and the way we were treated :(

So... More like 3.5 Stars. Although the place was packed the Waitress did an awesome job being prompt, informative and friendly. And, the food arrived quickly. I thought it would be slow but this speaks to the efficiency of the kitchen - well done. So... Why 3.5 stars. Well, the food was "good" but it didn't hit "Wow". The Caesar salad was also "good". The cut of beef I had was ok but had a bunch of grissel. Does anyone use that term anymore? The tender parts were good and they hit Med-Rare. Yes... 3.5 because we go for the food... 4.5 for service... We paid $100 for the meal and 1 glass of wine. Would I go back - Yes! I think I will and I will try a different dish... Btw - 3.5 is a pretty good score given the base I am comparing against. Give it a try...!

We have always enjoyed dining at Forage and didn't realize how much we missed that experience until covid19 happened. Happily their dining room is again open and we enjoyed a fabulous lunch. As an appetizer I had the warm goat cheese and beet salad while my wife enjoyed the grilled camalari. Our mains were lamb chops and and black and blue salad. Great food, we highly recommend.

Love the delicious, fresh food. Menu favourites at our house: focaccia with tapenade, seafood stew, grilled calamari, fish n chips, and homemade soups. Oh, and the desserts! An excellent treat for takeout as well.

This restaurant used to be our favorite go-to. Our recent visit with friends was very disappointing. They are renowned for great fish and chips, but ours were a disaster. The fish was good, but the chips were almost inedible. They were brick hard, dry and tasteless. Luckily I ordered a side of curry sauce which at least distracted from their awfulness. My wife couldn’t eat hers. We told the waitress and she said she would pass it on to the chef. As we were being given the bill (Full price, I might add), she said “The chef said sorry about that”! We won’t be back.

My husband and I drive up to Orangeville several times a year to take our friend Bruce, out to lunch. We would not even consider going to any place but Forage. The Pasta Puttanesca, if it is on the menu, is to die for. Everything is outstanding. Too bad that they are not closer to Waterdown..:)

extremely bad service, I am medically exempt from wearing a mask due to a heart condition. I had the manager embarrass me in front of the whole restaurant. She yelled at me to put on a mask or I would be kicked out but I didn’t need a vaccine passport to dine in.. makes no sense. I then watched her go back to her staff and have a conversation (obviously about me ) .. I was very uncomfortable as they all looked right at me while mumbling. I definitely felt bullied on my night out by all the staff at the restaurant. The food was Meh, definitely NOT worth the price we paid. We will never be back.

Really excellent Friday lunch. I had the calves liver, which is fairly tricky to do well, and most places overcook it, but this was succulent and tender and excellent quality. My partner had the duck confit, which was excellent as well. Good choice of beers and wine plus good service. I'd place the menu style as fancy comfort food with excellent delivery. Worth a visit.
