Best choice we made while on the island! Absolutely beautifully run family-owned (for 125 years!) oasis directly on the water! For a fraction of the price (place next door was charging up to $3K/night), we had a unique and fantastic stay. Some highlights: A room where if you sleepwalk, you'll end up in the ocean. A chef-cooked breakfast overlooking the water each morning. Free use of kayaks, snorkeling masks, a cooler, towels and a fridge/freezer. Excellent location in a sleepier part of the island that feels less touristy. Direct access via a 5 minute kayak ride to Sea-Glass Island (yes, the entire island is covered in beautiful sea glass). Right next to/walkable to some of the best restaurants on the island (Zeerovers, Old Man and the Sea, Flying Fishbone). Also a short drive to Baby Beach and the National Park. Friendly dogs (a little pug named Bubbles, lovable Bingo and forgetting the last pups name who greeted us daily), lizards, crabs, and a natural aquarium of fish and eels that get fed with breakfast. Beach chairs, hammocks, various sitting areas on the water. Offer to have a privately cooked romantic dinner on the water. Very friendly staff who make you feel like part of the family. This is not a "fancy" place and rooms are simple but with everything you could need. I think there are 6 rooms in total, so at times it feels like you have it all to yourself. If we are lucky enough to return to Aruba, our first action will be to book a room at Serene by the Sea.

I stayed with my sister (as locals) and a friend who was visiting from Europe as we wanted to spend some days by the water in Savaneta. We had a very relaxed time! We brought some groceries and did not take the car the whole weekend. We walked along the coast and also once to dinner. This place is run by local family who are cool to get to know, very relaxed people. Best to contact them directly for the latest rates & availability! The water is nicest in the morning and the views always great, snorkeling is probably best at the little islands across.

Reno & Desiree are so hospitable and run a gem of a vacation spot. The rooms are clean and the sea is at your feet! There are amazing brand new lounge beds, sea kayaks, snorkel gear & laundry! Unfortunately I do not recommend the fish/steak dinner prepared By the uncle at the hotel but Located next to Flying fish bone restaurant you will never go hungry.

Very happy with the overall experience. Would recommend to those traveling with kids also. The reef protects from waves so good for swimming and kayaking. Chef made a good job!

An amazing stay. Local family owned and run. Have to mention Elisia ( hope I spelt that correctly) He made breakfast every morning for guests, delicious. He was also taxi driver to airport or shop or anywhere you wanted to go, tour guide ( took some guests on a tour of island) and very good with recommendations. He also can make you lunch or diner on request. Also has an amazing group of animals that he feeds each day from the dock, crabs, iguanas, and fish. Beautiful deck next to a small beach, steps from your room. Could not be more perfect. Room is basic, but clean and comfortable. Free snorkeling gear is great as there are so many fish just of the deck. This area on the south side of island is beautiful, close to Baby Beach. It is also next to the best restaurants on the island and we have put up reviews on those. Each are only steps away and all very different but highly recommended are The Flying Fishbone The Old Man and the Sea ( in the Ocean Villas which is a 5 star resort) and Zeerover. We stayed in the north of island also at a highly recommended resort where a lot of visitors end up. However we wish we had spent more time here as it was so relaxing and enjoyable. Highly recommend.

One of my best evenings in Goa was spent here chatting and drinking away with strangers turned into friends! Amazing place, great food (they do go out of the way to make it specially for you even if it's not on the menu). Do try the Cheeky Mary and the brownie. Pure bliss! 10 stars !!!

Warning: there are isn’t enough room to describe our visit to this wonderful place. Besides the amazing views and awesome experiences we had at the hotel, we felt like family when we got here and they treated us like family the whole experience. We have already booked our next stay here. See you in February!

The location and the host family, both cannot be graded high enough. This place is simply gorgeous and if you seek a calm, friendly, comfortable, relaxing, heartwarming place to relief your soul, this is the place to go. Can’t put it in words, just awesome 🏝️

Couldn’t wish for a better place to spend our vacation here. The family who runs the place is so friendly that eventually we also kind of felt like we are also part of the family while being there. The private beach is magical. Worth 100 times more to spend time here than in any of the resorts in the center of the island. If you want to get familiar with the real Aruba, this is your go-to place.

What a wonderful place to stay on Aruba! Thank you to Reno and everyone else making our stay fantastic! The lovely people here is what made our trip feel genuine. Such a great spot in terms of peacefulness and a picturesque backdrop. Oh, you are also 500ft (150m) from the best restaurant on the island, across from Seaglass Island and very close to Baby Beach.

We stayed for our 20th anniversary. Serene by the Sea was perfect! First, the family that owns this place is great. So friendly. Elisa will treat you to a wonderful breakfast each morning. He also fixed a very special surf and turf dinner for us when we arrived. We checked out a few beaches in Aruba and the best spot turned out to be right outside our room at Serene. We saw so many fish, sea turtles and a lobster. At other beaches we just saw a handful of fish. This spot is also perfect if you want to dodge the resort crowds and explore the entire island with a rental. Driving is a piece of cake in Aruba, and there are some very affordable options. Highly recommend Serene by the Sea!

Ever since we stayed there during May we can't wait to go back! Ther owners are extremely friendly and help you out whenever they can. The rooms are clean and equiped with everything you need (ac, fridge, TV etc), shops for groceries are nearby. Serene by the Sea offers you a warm, almost family-like hopitality - the perfect place to relax and recharge. This might have been our first stay, but definitely not our last.

Family run bed and breakfast. Breakfast is good, omelette, fruits and jams. I get to speak with the owners and they are very welcoming. The lady owner (Desiree) swims daily. She invited me to swim with her group! Her brother the chef woke up early to cook breakfast. He showed me their herb garden. Super welcoming people and I get to chat with the son about fishing. They’re going today to fish for red snapper!! Worth it to chat with them.

A very family friendly boutique hotel. Beautiful scenery with relaxing chairs set up to spend the day. Great breakfast served oceanside daily. We loved the kayaks! The owners were happy to help with anything we might need throughout the week and always willing to give suggestions of things to do. Would definitely stay again!

Stayed there from the 12th-15th of July, and would definitely want to come again! Exceptional, unpretentious property with a beautiful and unobstructed sea view. Very calming vibe, and lovely hospitality by the host family. A lot of privacy that one struggles to find otherwise. Highly recommended!!

A hidden jem in Aruba. Absolutely loved my stay there. I felt so comfortable since the vibe was easy and relaxed. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The view and access to the bay was unparalleled. The rooms were simple, clean and yet tasteful. I just did not want to leave. Highly recommended.

My wife and I stayed at Serene by the Sea for our honeymoon. The bed and breakfast was perfect for our relaxing vacation! The location was ideal as we were within walking distance of multiple delicious local restaurants. The staff was personable and did an incredible job answering questions about nearby attractions and places to eat. The chef cooked us a delicious breakfast each morning overlooking the ocean and we absolutely loved our private dinner. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to enjoy a peaceful, fun vacation in Aruba!

Me and my husband celebrated our 19th Anniversary at Serene by the Sea last week. The hospitality was great! Chef Alisae(hope I spelled it correctly) Reno, and rest of hosts are all awesome! The location is great, especially if you want a less crowded area. It's walking distance from Zeer Over, the best local fresh fish & shrimp. The rooms are nice and clean. Waking up to a beautiful water view everyday. Great accommodations and place for snorkeling. Try the sunset dinner, reasonably-priced. We are definitely planning to go back to stay again. Thank you Reno & family for a fantabulous vacation!

Wow! And Wow! I had to change accommodations on Aruba part way through my trip, and that is when I lucked into an availability at Serene By the Sea. The prior place located up north was garbage next to Serene By the Sea! Truly, they had everything I was looking for in a relaxing trip and amazing family to boot that genuinely cared about me and my experience. They went above and beyond! Do not skip the opportunity to have Chef Elise´ make you dinner....and during that, do NOT skip the dessert! Wow! Reno, you have such an amazing personality. I'm glad we were able to take some time to relax and bond. Next trip, I am going to get to race track with you! Mrs. Ras, you are officially my Island Mother now. Thank you for being so caring. Maurice, thanks for the laughs and keep Sabroso on that leash, brother!! Haha! Thank you, everyone! I'll be back!

What a beautiful spot for our holiday vacation this year! The location was amazing nestled in Savaneta away from the hectic resorts and downtown area. The private beach and seating was so peaceful and allowed for enough adventure not to even leave the area! Reno was very communicative and attentive to our requests and needs. The room came with snorkle gear, kayaks were available, relaxing floats, and even a paddleboat.

😠 Horrible - from beginning to end. As it was our first time in Aruba, we called and spoke with the concierge Joy. We explained it would be for our honeymoon, and we wanted a private escape. She overpromised, and the resort way under delivered. We stayed in Orquidea the first four nights, and they sho...
