We stayed here in May 2023 and had an incredible time! The location is great, we had to take a $10 cab ride into the Palm Beach area everyday, although you could easily bike. We didn’t mind. The restaurant Passions was so good!! We ate dinner there almost every night! Pricey but well worth it!! The romantic atmosphere at Passions is unreal!! 🌅 Live music during dinner every night - even if you don’t reserve a beach table, you can sit at the bar and eat, which was never crowded. All the food they serve is delicious!!! The service and staff at the resort were so nice, efficient and accommodating. We loved this location because it was a bit further away from crowded Palm Beach area. Had an extremely relaxing time here, definitely recommend this resort 100%!!!

Comparable to a Marriott Residence Inn, Amsterdam Manor is a great gem in its own fashion right on Eagle Beach. The staff were not only super friendly but also generous with their advice and conversation. They made me feel like I was a new part of their family. This was important to me because I was a solo traveler. The room has everything you could need (stove top, fridge, microwave, silverware, pots, pans, cleaning supplies, etc.). The air conditioning works well, too, and the water pressure is good. On-site are a pool and hot tub, bar (with decent prices), sunbathing areas and a restaurant which is set to reopen soon. Passions on the Beach is also affiliated with the resort and you can conveniently charge everything to the room. Concierge services are also available with discounts for any excursions/rentals you may want to book. Location (IMO) is unbeatable if you want to stay on Eagle Beach. While the beach is right there on your doorstep, Super Food is a 5 minute walk behind the resort. The store is large and sells everything you might need. Another gem not to be missed is Daily Fish (within the Super Food complex). Go there for catch of the day specials and a great fried fish basket. I will definitely be back and hopefully soon! Thanks for a great time!

Went for our honeymoon and first time in Aruba. Staff was very friendly and welcoming, any questions or information needed for excursions, rentals, etc. they can set you up with. Honeymoon suite was great. It’s not overwhelmingly luxurious, but it fit the setting very well. Kitchen had all the necessities and nice size for a couple or even small family to cook, if needed. The tub and shower were very nice. Cleaning and refreshing room was spot on. Location of room was perfect, literally 1 minute walk to the beach. Surrounding restaurants had delicious food, particularly fish and pasta. There aren’t any small shops in the resort to get supplies, but a huge grocery store is easily walkable for anything you need. Would definitely recommend and return in the future.

As much as I love aruba this resort is to be avoided. It's right beside the sewage plant and the air smells awful. The rooms are wet. I mean wet with mold growing in spots. The celing actually rained on us one day. Yet they do not have a dehumidifier, instead they have a air purifier(with the sewage smell is just as needed. Now let's venture to the beach where your supposed to have use of the palapas and chairs. While I was on the way to get something from our room, one of the workers grabbed our chairs and told my wife she couldn't use them(didn't ask if we were staying at the resort, just grabbed and drug them away). Along with this the beach is to boat accessible. The wakes from the speed boats and jet skiing makes this calm ocean so wavy that it's no longer the eagle beach it use to be. Their is no wonder that most people now go swimming at baby beach now. This place will never see me again.

After a very unfortunate or maybe in the end lucky situation we ended up here. Our airbnb was double booked( we opened the door and people were inside lol) After a complete emotional breakdown of being homeless in Aruba we booked a night here and then decided to spend the next 8 nights here as well. It was delightful from check in to check out. So friendly and helpful in all of Aruba but this resort was A+. Room C11 is on the 3rd floor and is a corner balcony room. Could wake up to see the beautiful ocean every day. Went for walks along the path a few times a day and even walked to Palm Beach from there as well. We had a car but honestly being right across from Eagle Beach was spectacular we hardly visited any other beach except to snorkel. Woke up, grabbed a chair around 7am, sat and sunbathed and read our books, then off to adventures of the day. We came back and had a swim around 4pm each day. The beach was never overwhelming busy but I think July just is off season. Room was always cleaned, and again staff was so friendly. Bed isn't as comfy as one would hope, and have to warn about the sewage smell. It was quite strong most days and all day. Enough to make my husband have a headache and stay inside. It wafted to the beach area as well. So sad as this property is absolutely perfect and would recommend it to anyone, but would have to again take some points off for the smell. Thank you for our stay, but we wont be back...nothing against Aruba, just other places to see. 🌴

Location, location, location. The resort on Eagle Beach with Passion resteraunt is awesome. The beach is excellent for all, but specifically I enjoyed the mature travelers. Staff are professional and positive. You are also just a few blocks from Super Food, which is an excellent grocery store. Get a few pieces of cake and enjoy a world class sunset. The room exceeded our expectations with a nice kitchen (blender, pots, pans, stove, fridge), tiled bathroom and relaxing balcony. The greatest advantage of the resort is you walk down a flight of stairs and a hundred feet to enjoy the beach. Don't go far and enjoy a lunch special or dinner on the beach at passion. You are literally 15ft from crashing waves... Hard to envision a better experience for any couple.

My husband and I were vacationing in Aruba for the first time and cannot say enough good things about Amsterdam Manor. First and foremost, all of the staff are the nicest, kindest, friendliest and not accommodating people I have ever met. Hands down the best hotel experience I have ever had. The location of the manor is literal steps away from Eagle beach, they have a towel system to ensure you get hut access as well. We stayed in a superior studio and it was perfect. The kitchenette is stocked with everything you could need-utensils, glassware, dinner ware, cook ware etc and you're walking distance (if you choose, though it's quite hot) to a super foods if you did want groceries/check out the local grocery store. They have laundry on site, drying stands to air dry, the bed is very comfortable and they even give you different pillows in terms of firmenss to sleep on. I just cannot say enough of how wonderfully accommodating they are. It is a smaller hotel, much more quiet than I'd say a big high rise hotel is, which I enjoyed. Everything else on the island is easily accessible via taxi, which the front desk will order for you every time. I highly recommend staying here, I would return no questions asked.

We had a sisters trip and rented a 2-room suite in late September 2023. AMAZING! The room was perfect. It was very clean, nice and cool, and had everything we needed. When we need more towels or coffee (and even a late check out) the front desk was quick to accommodate and the staff was always pleasant and helpful and always smiling. The location was perfect as well. Closer to Eagle Beach than Palm Beach but so close to everything. The Amsterdam is a smaller hotel. We didn't want a large high-rise resort with 1,000's of other guests. This place is just perfect. But if you want high rise resort with lots of beach bars/activity it may not be for you. After exploring for a week (including the resorts) we thought the beach out front of this hotel was the best beach to just relax at. In fact, we stayed 1/2 of our week at another resort and next time we will stay 100% of the time at the Amsterdam. I can't say enough. We all loved it and can't wait to come back. Highly recommend!

Horizons Bar [upper deck] inside the Amsterdam Resort which is also part of Passions beach front dining/bar is one of the best kept 'secrets' in the area. See my detailed review under Horizon's separate reviews. Summary: Brooklyn, Ruthie & Leo were amazing and the reason we made it a near-daily hangout for the week we were in town! This is a great little bar pouring some of the best drinks I had during our trip! View is amazing. :) We stayed at the larger resort a block away BUT due to these three and the outstanding condition of your resort property we will definitely be staying with you the next time we visit! I am not easily impressed but was in this case!

Customer Service was excellent! Beach chairs and towels are included at Eagle Beach when you stay here. Passions on the Beach restaurant had great food and Service. Meal was added on to the room's final bill. No cash accepted at Passions, only debit/credit. Cash tips welcome!

We Stayed at Amsterdam for the 1st time May7-14 or 2022. This is such a great spot. We were just a short walk across the street to Eagle Beach. The beach was very clean and the hotel reserved us palapas daily. The hotel bar on the beach (Passions) we visited regularly and became very friendly with Michael and Kevin, Who had great personalitys and we so much fun. We also ate lunch here a few times and it was pretty tasty. The beach bar also had provided ice water so you could help yourself to cold water while sunning on the beach. I suggest packing a reusable cup like a Yeti as the recycled paper cups sog out fast. The pool was open till 8pm, that seemed a bit early to me but did not ruin my time here at all. We hit the hotel Horizons Bar twice. The food was exellent. I recommed trying the Putine fries! The nachos are also good. Again the staff was great! The last evening we had dinner on the beach (Passions). We had a party of 6 and it was amazing experience, food was excellent. My sister had the filet and it was so tender and worth every penny, top notch!! I had the coconut Grouper, very tasty as well. We timed it with sunset and it was stunning. We even were handed a chanpagne as we were greeted and shown to our seats. The staff did an amazing job transforming the beach into a classy dinnner location with table cloths lights and tourches. I do recommnd skipping the shoes and going with flip flops. You should call and reserve this in advance. Housekeeping was very attentive. The room was cleaned everyday while we were at the beach. They always left plenty of additional bath towels and beach towels for us as we did have a group of 6. We requested an extra bed on evening of day 2 and we had it that very next morning. We did not care for the coffee at all so we made our way to Dunkins in the mornings. More of a preference thing that an issue. I had read a few reviews about the sewer smell. We did smell it intermitantly when we arrived, and it depended what way the wind was blowing. We never had an issue or a smell again, and whet untill the last day where it was strong for about an hour. The smell however has nothing to do with the hotel but from the islands sewer system in general and from what I understand is in process of being updated. This is not a reflection of the hotel which by the way was kept very very clean and pleasing. I would absolutly return and I would recommend you give it a try.

An absolute delight. The service from the front desk was amazing. Julio in particular, showed me to my apartment with a warm smile and gave me a brief tour. There are two restaurants. The barmen are a little bit grumpy but this is balanced out by friendly waitresses so they can be ignored. Rata was someone that had a lot of banter with customers and treated all of us differently according to our personalities. I thoroughly recommend this resort.

Loved my stay at this resort! Jennifer was so sweet and welcoming when I arrived! I was lucky enough to get a room with a beautiful view of the sunset. I didn't really notice a sewage smell some other reviewers mentioned. I only noticed it when I was waiting outside for a taxi. I did have to take off a star as I had some difficulty with room service. I had to call multiple times and didn't get a response so I tried to visit the restaurant but I was ignored for over 10 minutes and ended up leaving.

Had a great stay here. Clean and efficient rooms. So convenient to the beach. Centrally located. The staff was great! Housekeeping always cleaned above and beyond. Front desk staff was very accommodating for our 10 year anniversary. We would highly recommend and return in the future.

We loved our time at the Amsterdam Manor. The location was right across from the beach with shade and seats provided for the guests. The room had a king bed with small kitchenette to make breakfast and store drinks. The concierge and staff were very helpful with bike rentals, car rental service, and making reservations at restaurants. The AMBR is under renovations as of our stay (September 2021), but this did not affect the quality of our visit. Highly recommend.

Beautiful place, I was invited there on Sunday evening November the 5th to the bar by someone Swedish and Norwegian dear friends for a drink, I was not staying there just visiting my friends, everything was going well spot on, the drinks, services…until the end…I paid my bill and left a good tip. As I was leaving, I heard the waitress saying and I quote in brackets (Goodbye and F… off)… for a moment I thought I missed hear and pay no mind to it, but one of my friends said (as we were descending the stairs) she was rude… I asked why are you saying that? Well, she just told you to F… off… that confirmed that I was not imagining things. I didn’t go back and ask for an explanation and an apology… but I will be writing to the owner of the place and complain about this incident. Rude behaviour is not acceptable and he or she should do something about it and make absolutely sure that this won’t happens again… like I say, I was not staying there, and I’m sure the rest of the staff are not as rude as this particular lady was. We are flying back to the UK, and will recommend this beautiful place to my friends over there, I will book there on my next holidays here… I love Aruba, this is my third visit…

I stayed here 20 years ago and loved the quaint details, and of course, the location can't be more perfect. This latest visit has been fantastic! Our suite is very spacious and comfortable. The concierge services are above and beyond! Everyone here has been friendly, welcoming, and very helpful. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Aruba. The Amsterdam Manor feels like home.

Such a great place to stay in Aruba, nice clean, spacious rooms and super friendly staff! The rooms were simple and had lots of space, we felt like we had our own little condo with a living room, kitchenette and bedroom. The location is great, you are right across the street from eagle beach and the hotel has an outdoor pool, cocktail lounge and beach bar/restaurants which has really great food! It was also my husbands birthday while we were there, I had asked them if they could have an bottle of wine in the room for us for his bday and they went above and beyond with birthday balloons and a bottle of champagne + two small bottles of Prosecco for us in the room when we arrived! We loved our stay at the Amsterdam Manor Resort and will definitely be back!

This hotel is the perfect spot on the island. Eagle Beach--the most beautiful beach on earth--is just across a narrow street, and the resort has a beach restaurant that's delicious. The staff is courteous and attentive. Most importantly, the resort was SPOTLESS. We can't wait to come back.

We booked the Amsterdam Manor last minute on a whim and I would definitely recommend this place. It’s right next to the beach, the rooms provided everything we needed and more. You are next to a grocery store in case you need to stock up on any snacks or drinks at the beach. Small little touches like local toiletries and the Thursday manager meet and greet happy hour makes this resort even better. What truly makes this place a hidden gem we’re the bartenders Elvis and Ruthmila. I will come back to this place if they are still employed here. They had AMAZING personalities and the drinks were out of this world. So many customers came back from other resorts to have Elvis’ phenomenal drinks and Ruthmila awesome personality and generosity. The locals make it such a memorable experience and they are so kind and genuine. We read reviews about the sewer smell and yes there is a slight scent but after 2 minutes you can’t even smell it. This place is a great bargain and Elvis/Ruthmila will make it even more memorable!

Great place! Clean, nice people, great beach access. People complain about the smell from the waste plant but it was not bad and would not deter me from staying here again. Almost want to keep this place a secret!

Pros: 1. Location: I can’t imagine that the location gets much better than this. We could see the ocean from our couch. Our son had his bed in the living room and woke up each morning and could see the beach from his bed. This particular part of the beach is amazing. There’s a grocery store wishing walking distance. If you need an ATM, there’s one at the resort next door (La Cabana). 2. Amenities: The pool was decent. The food at their restaurants were very good. The price was relatively high but so is every other place in this area. They have a bar restaurant on the beach during the day that you can walk to as you are hanging on the beach. They can just bill your room. Very convenient. At night the restaurant sets up tables on the beach. I mean, it doesn’t get much better. Imagine, eating high quality, fine dining food at a table on the beach at sunset, torches burning, beautiful calm ocean water, white sand, friendly servers, perfect temperatures. 3. The Staff: were all friendly and helpful. Whenever you need a taxi, they’ll call one for you and taxis arrive quickly usually. Their concierge helped book a day trip to La Palma Island which was a lot of fun. The cleaning staff went above and beyond. When they saw that we had bought some extra coffee at the grocery store, they left us a big pile of the hotel’s coffee which by the way was very good coffee. 4. The Beach: This kind of goes under location but it deserves it’s own section. This is tied for us with the best beach we’ve ever been to. Siesta Key beach is better in some ways but worse in others than Eagle Beach. So, this place is on Eagle Beach which Trip Advisor just listed as the 5th best beach in the world for 2022. In the world! We enjoy, smaller, boutique kinds of resorts to the high rise, party all night kind of place with hundreds of people. This fit the bill just right. It was quiet, unique, beautiful. Cons: 1. The smell. When you are outside your room, walking the property, you smell a sewer like smell. The first day, I noticed it a lot. In subsequent days, it came and went. I mostly didn’t notice it. The good news is you really don’t smell it when you’re on the beach which is where we spent most of our time. Also, you don’t smell it in your room. And, when you do smell it, it really just comes and goes. Apparently it’s caused by it’s proximity to a nearby wastewater treatment place or something like that. This affects other nearby places too. 2. It would have been nice to have a hot tub.

It's a friendly hotel with many kind and helpful staff members. A great place to stay on a very nice location. With special thanks to Jennifer, Patrick and Angela... for the help and for making me feel so comfortable and welcome.

Hotel is amazing as always. Staff mostly friendly despite added stress due to covid. It's just sad that the water dispenser at the beach is gone due to the bigger bar area now. Change of bath towels due to covid protocol was a bit complicated at first but we managed it after two days

Loved staying here (August 2021). While there is renovation work happening in the hotel, the rooms are spacious and clean. The hotel is right across the street from Eagle beach where the sand is like powder and the water is perfect. You get free lounge chairs and beach towels under the palapas and the beach bar is excellent. Room service is the fastest I’ve ever experienced and the housekeeping staff is punctual and professional. The pool is okay and there is a tiny kiddy pool there too. Definitely recommend if you want a quiet area, excellent service and beach time. The supermarket is a 5 minute walk.

Unfortunately we only stayed for one night, but this place is fantastic. It all starts with the staff. Billy and Julio were great. Joselito and the lady bartender were class acts. The two ladies working the office know exactly how to deliver customer service. This is our first time in Aruba but the last. When we come back we will be staying here. The view, the location, the pool, the bars, but most importantly because of the staff. Thank you!

SEWAGE, smells like sewage most of the time. From the parking lot to the beach restaurant all the way to the water. Based on reviews this is a permanent thing. CONSTRUCTION- which has been going on for some time and they conveniently failed to tell us when we booked. Pool was closed the entire time. Room i chose was much smaller than a standard decent hotel room. The room was cleaned each day, but the sane remained. Building up each day. Save your money. Choose a different place.

Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort Aruba Google review summary 4.6 Excellent 609 reviews Rooms 4.4 Location 4.8 Service 4.6 Families 4.7 Couples 4.2 Reviews Search reviews People often mention A F 2/5 a minute ago on Google So about the smell, there is a sewage stench but it's faint. I did However, on my last day I did notice the smell in my room once I turned off the AC, which I believe contributed to my migraine and made me sick. I had to check out the room early on my because the smell was so strong. The front desk didn't seem to care and unfortunately there wasn't any where on site for me to get medication and I was too sick to walk to the market. I wish would have listened to the other reviews about the smell. The room was very clean and had been upgraded. The bed was hard as a rock, I did not sleep good at all. The front desk staff could have been friendlier, however the black lady (sorry I dont remember her name) she was great! Trying to catch a taxi was a pain, I had to walk over to La Cabana, several times, to get a taxi. The taxis are lined up in front of the resort and you dont have to wait. Luckily La Cabana is only a short walk. The resort is located in between Palm Beach and Downtown. There's a bus stop in front of the resort. Also be sure to have cash, most taxis dont take credit and if they do there's a surcharge. Also, this hotel is under construction so there's a lot of noise and workers on site. There is a very nice supermarket Super Food Plaza that is about a 15 min walk from the resort. I enjoyed Passions the ambiance and food were perfect! Aruba is beautiful but unfortunately I wouldn't recommend this resort.

I can’t say enough good things about this resort. From the time you check-in to the time you check-out the hospitality is 5 stars. Every person we encountered always smiled, said hello and was very helpful when we had a question. The grounds were beautiful. The resort very clean and it was wonderful to have a kitchenette in our room. Eagle Beach is directly across the road and the resort provides towels. When you walk to the beach a staff member will setup chairs for you to use. Horizon’s Lounge and Passions Restaurant have excellent food. Make sure you do the evening beach dining at Passions the food was fabulous.

This was our first time in Aruba. Let me just tell you that Jennifer and the ladies at the front desk were the BEST welcoming committee. We felt like family from the second we walked through the front office doors. They were very informative and helpful. Jennifer helped set up excursions for us. We were called taxis whenever needed and always with a smile. Every staff member we encountered always had a smile and a friendly hello. The rooms are newly renovated. We were upgraded to a 2 bedroom ocean view with a balcony at no additional cost. It was such an amazing experience that next time we come back we want to bring our kids with us! We can not thank Amsterdam Manor for their hospitality!

We stayed in October. There was no smell. A bit noisy with the construction. Loved that it was super close to Eagle Beach - and it wasn’t crowded. Close walking distance to Superfoods too. Everyone was helpful and nice. My only complaint is that the cleaning crew was not consistent in cleaning our rooms. It sucked that the rooms didn’t have Hulu or Netflix options. Maybe if Passions could have had a server going around asking us if we would have liked something to eat/drink instead of us walking there would have been nice. Definitely will be back in the future.

To say that Amsterdam Manor was the best choice ever is an understatement! Everything about this hotel is top notch! We were married by the fufoti trees and our reception was at Passions on the Beach. From the minute Billy greeted us at the entry to Julio and Kimberly checking us it it was wonderful!! Kimberly went above and beyond for the last year with all the booking of rooms and any question I had while planning for this big trip! Snoop the mixologist up at Horizon’s was the best bartender we could have had for our group of 49!! If you don’t stay at the hotel (which you’ll be missing out) make sure you stop and have Snoop make you one of his signature cocktails! Jerrick who helped us each day with chairs and floats was great! He was alway ready for this group each day. He was awesome!! Denise was there for anything we needed at our reception at Passions. Ann Maduro, who helped me with all the food and details for the wedding rocked it! She is a saint! The food was off the hook! From the meals for the reception to breakfast and lunch WOW!! Get a smoothly too!! Gerard was so helpful throughout the process when I began the planning of our wedding/honeymoon. The housekeeping staff was probably the best I’ve ever had! Every single employee at the Amsterdam Manor was awesome!!! Rooms were beautiful! All the Aruba aloe products-shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, lotions and hand soap in the rooms were such a great bonus. The beach just across the street (very easy to cross, not at all busy) was the icing on the cake. Staying at Amsterdam Manor was the best way we could have spent our time on One Happy Island! Would not have wanted to stay anywhere else!! Thank you everyone who works there for making our stay so special by going above and beyond, especially for a group of 49! Can’t wait to visit again! 💛Amsterdam Manor

The ONLY negative thing I can say is there is a waste treatment plant behind the hotel so you smell feces on and off depending on the direction of the wind. And lots of flies. You can not smell it in the room. We had the honeymoon suite with a kitchenette. it was fabulous!!!! We didn't lay on the beach at the resort because of the flies and horrible smell. We only had to walk 5 min down to beach to get away from it though.

Just returned home last night. Can't say enough good things about Amsterdam Manor. The place is immaculate. The pool was right outside of our room. The beach was a quick walk across the street. We always had plenty of fresh towels. The maid service was awesome. We had breakfast at Passions every morning and the food and service was top notch. The Horizons bar was great too, we loved our time with Elvis, the best bartender on the island. A couple of little suggestions...the music at Horizons was not very enjoyable. I think different music might draw more people. The door to the room opens to the left, but the curtain opens to the right (sounds minor, but was super annoying and led to the curtain jamming the door, so double check your doors when you leave your room) We will definitely be back, we loved the location. Kind of halfway between the high rise area and the cruise port area.
