The
Place:
Be
sure
not
to
drive
by
this
discreetly
located
gem
which
sits
in
the
lobby
of
the
Clarion
Inn
&
Suites.
Though
the
hotel
isn’t
fancy,
the
restaurant
is
clean
&
simply
but
elegantly
decorated.
Although
it’s
pricier,
it’s
a
step
up
from
its
counterparts,
so
if
you
have
never
had
Indian
food,
then
this
is
a
great
place
to
have
your
first
experience.
And,
if
you
are
already
a
lover
of
this
cuisine,
then
you
will
be
equally
pleased
with
the
food
served
here.
With
over
3
decades
of
frequenting
&
searching
for
the
best
Indian
Restaurants
throughout
the
east
coast,
I
can
see
why
Tabla
has
garnered
over
4.5k
google
reviews.
And
while
I
can’t
comment
on
the
sit
down
service,
I
can
say
that
with
each
visit,
my
food
was
ready
on
time
&
stored
in
good
quality
containers
so
there
were
no
aggravating
leaks
or
mishaps.
The
Food:
-
“extra
mild”
Butter
Chicken-
Don’t
be
fooled
because
this
version
still
delivers
a
nice
yet
subtle
kick
of
heat.
It’s
a
creamy
sauce
with
a
visible
blend
of
herbs
&
spices
and
tender
morsels
of
chicken.
While
the
sauce
is
creamy,
rich
&
flavorful,
I
am
not
a
fan
of
excess
oil
separating
from
the
sauce
and
sitting
at
the
top.
It’s
a
bit
unappealing
for
me.
Vegetable
Samosas-
Quantity
of
4
appetizers
that
were
perfectly
fried
&
non-greasy
with
a
nicely
pureed
spiced
filling
served
with
accompanying
dipping
sauces.
Garlic
Naan-
I
can’t
say
enough
about
this
airy
bread
with
large
garlic
chunks.
It’s
a
“must
have.”
Chicken
Korma-
I
thought
it
was
pretty
good,
but
comparatively,
I
have
had
an
exceptional
Korma
dish
from
my
favorite
restaurant
in
the
north
east,
and
while
Tabla’s
Korma
is
good,
it’s
not
top
notch
like
their
Butter
Chicken.
Additionally,
I’m
not
a
fan
of
biting
down
on
whole
cardamom
pods
which
I
found
in
my
entrée.
Now,
if
you’re
a
stickler
for
consistency
in
flavor,
then
it’s
worth
a
mention
that
my
Butter
Chicken
take
out
was
slightly,
but
notably
more
delicious
on
a
weekday
towards
the
end
of
the
lunch
rush,
than
during
the
weekend
Saturday
lunch
time.
To
be
fair,
I
am
an
unbelievably
critical
foodie,
and
even
with
this
small
discrepancy,
I
still
find
the
food
at
Tabla
to
be
considerably
more
delicious
than
most
other
nearby
joints.
All
in
all,
though
it’s
a
far
drive
for
me,
and
tougher
on
my
wallet,
for
now
Tabla
is
at
the
top
of
my
list
when
I
want
REALLY
good
Indian
food,
so
I
highly
recommend
it.
