Visited the Plough Inn, Eynsford, Kent with my wife on Thursday 23/6/22 around the time 1315pm to 1532pm. By this time of visit the atmosphere calmly relaxed at the Inn, also no problems with parking in the disabled bay - remember to record your vehicle registration at the bar inside the Inn on arrival! Disabled entrance, toilet facilities all here too. An historical Inn with period architecture being all part of the historic village of EYNSFORD- certainly one of most famous, picturesque villages not only in Kent / England but the whole of the U.K. The beautiful upper reaches of the River Darent and its well known 'FORD' crossing are always an attraction to many visitors in the heart of the village along RIVERSIDE. The Plough Inn sits comfortably alongside the River bank, and awaits you with kind, friendly, welcoming staff to serve you with a menu to be proud off. A fairly sizeable car park within the premises but do take into account that this Inn in where its located can get very busy due to its popularity. Like most pub, gastro pub restaurants, depending on time of year, day of the week, time of day, it would probably be wise to check beforehand! But of course, you can be lucky just casually turning up without a reservation, especially on a weekday. The general interior very chic. The decor inside is a blend of smooth 'earthy' colours around the walls with attractive presented furniture to match. Table and chair arrangements neatly spaced apart, there is also an upstairs dining area too. Warm modern lighting and lamps, and a good lengthy bar. Very clean and hygenic all round - I found. The food very good indeed, a good choice of British and Mediterranean European dishes on all courses to choose from. Most memorable to me especially is the sweet dessert! My wife and I last visited here some 20 years ago, and I always remembered one of the finest cheesecakes I'd ever savoured. This time round I had the Chocolate Trio Cheesecake, I RECOMMEND! Also on this occasion I had Pan Fried Scallops for starters, and the main a tasty King Prawn/ Crab/Chorizo Linguine...done to perfection in my view!!..Just one slighty little downside, it seemed to lack quantity, but hey, certainly made up for it in 'QUALITY'... I could've easy eaten another main dish....hope this remark complimentary at least to the chef and catering staff! Maybe not the fastest table service, but for me that doesn't matter in a beautiful relaxing Inn where time can wonderfully drift. Perfectly ideal for couples to embrace their time here, ideal for a steady stroll after alongside the river bank and village. Yeah, my wife and I will return at some future date....and 👍 yes, I personally give this wonderful well remembered 👏 Inn my praise with a rating of A1, 10/10. A pleasure to be here, enjoyed the chat with staff members. Good luck with future hospitality and custom....Chris.

It is located near a small stream of water. Perfect location for dipping your toes in the stream, on a warm sunny day after a full tummy😛 the restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating. We walked in on a weekday without prior booking and were able to get table indoors. Outdoor seating was all booked. It is a kids and pets friendly place. The food was sumptuous and the staff took care of any special requirements and requests. We had a good time. Will visit again.

Very decent food, some of the appetizers were really good. The service on the terrace is a bit slower than within but overall, great experience.

Had a decent lunch there on a sunny day. The food was well cooked and presented well with a good size portion. There was some outside seating with good size tables and room for dogs. There is a nice river beside the pub. Good food. Large tables (8 in our party) Kid friend. Dog friendly.

Bumping into this gem after a country stroll was a true delight. The food was excellent, and the staff made me feel welcome. A few more types of beers on tap would’ve made it for me. But none the less, I left completely satisfied. Thank you

Went for a Sunday lunch, managed to book a table fairly last minute. The food was excellent, what let it down was the very slow service. Took an hour for starters to arrive, and another 25 minute wait for main course. Mix up with one of the desserts but rectified. Would give more stars if the speed was better.

Great food and fantastic atmosphere, only been a few times but it's always a 10/10 experience. This time unfortunately there was only 1 member on the bar so it got a bit hectic for the poor lad at the peak moments. Can't fault the overall 5 star vibe from the place because of it tho

The food is delicious and well presented, the atmosphere lovely. The service was nice - thank you to Lucy who served us. EDIT: Updating my review upon seeing the receipt, surprised to have had a 'wet charge' without being notified, additionally this was as much as the drink we ordered, which wasn't cheap. REPLY: Please see receipt attached.

Booked for Sunday dinner, confirmed. Arrived could not find our booking. Went to order Sunday roast dinner at 6 pm, informed by staff no roasts available and no vegetables. Only option was burger or fish, didn’t stay to find out if the burger and fish was still available.

We have been to the Plough at Eynsford several times now and we always have a great experience. The food is absolutely amazing. We went on Saturday 17th February for a belated Valentines meal. I had Scallops for starter and my husband had chicken in sticky barbecue jam. Both were so tasty and cooked to perfection. Then for mains we both had king prawns with garlic and chilli pasta with scallops. We had this last visit and once again it was amazing. I finished off with a chocolate Baileys and Martini and my husband had an Irish coffee with Whisky. Lucy was our waitress and she was so lovely and attentive. Thank you to Lucy and the chef's for another wonderful meal. We will be back soon.

Such a lovely Sunday lunch! The food was incredible. We had the trio of roasts. The pork belly with crackling was the best bit but then you also got a pig in blanket with bread sauce for the chicken. Dessert was equally delicious. My daughter loved the cookie and ice cream. Our service from Beth was impeccable, she really made us feel special. The views of the river just added to the wonderful atmosphere. I would definitely recommend.

I booked the restaurant for a birthday meal with my friend. I honestly can’t add any improvement because everything was perfect. The chap greeting us at the door was really friendly & polite (the tall waiter with dark hair, a beard & tattoos.) We had two lovely waitresses (one with dark hair & a blonde hair lady who was new & being trained up.) They were the right amount of attentive, really polite & extremely professional. The food was totally delicious & arrived without a long wait even though the restaurant was busy - well done to the unseen kitchen staff! I’ve been coming to this pub since for 24 years. I always recommend it to people for the atmosphere, service & the food. Keep up the super work everyone!

Very friendly inn with lovely staff. Nicely decorated and a good atmosphere. Food different from other restaurants. Has Cheese Souffle and surf and turf which is Pork and Scallops, very enjoyable. THAT WHY I GIVE YOU 5 STARS. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Visited twice in May, once for dinner and once for brunch. Essentially it is a cute pub beside a brook in an olde-worlde village location. The pub is run by very friendly meet-and-greet staff supported by rather cheerless underlings. The linguine for dinner was good, albeit smaller than expected, similar to what other restaurants are offering for 2/3 the price and not better than one could make at home. The fish baguette was served in bread so hard it cracked like gunfire when I bit into it. I would not attempt this again without fully comprehensive dental insurance. There's a well-proven addage that if you take a modest, non-descript pen and double its price it then becomes a respectable gift for someone. Sadly this doesn't follow for food; a higher price does not make a better dining experince if the customer can't equate the premium to something tangible. Conclusion; enjoy the village, the brook, the pub and the beer but then retreat somewhere else for a hearty nosh which does not include a mark-up for all of the above.

Enjoyed a lovely veggie Sunday Roast, which was delicious and cooked to perfection. They also had 0 alcohol Gin, which not many places have. Great setting and friendly staff, would recommend!

Having read recent reviews mentioning cleanliness and speed, I was a little concerned. But we had a pleasant experience. It is a big place and not quite spic-and-span, tables took a while to be cleared and there were more than one cleaning sign around. However it does have a lot of spaces, including two outdoor areas and finding somewhere suitable was easy. Ordering is principally via QR code though there are physical menus. The design of which makes it look like they’ve been stained (why?!) while the drinks menu was. It was a bit hard to find staff but they were friendly and helpful. Service of drinks was really speedy while a meal (mains for 5) took about 30 minutes. Dessert was much quicker. Oddly salt and pepper come on a small plate mixed for you to pinch and share … I guess you’d best hope everyone has washed their hands. The menu is all the usuals, though be aware they may have availability issues (no pizza or gluten free burgers). It is however directly opposite the river where you can paddle and hence convenient for a nice day out. Tip: If you’re low on mobile signal, get on the WiFi before you order as the menu might work fine but payment might fail.

Lovely country pub, excellent food in an upstairs restaurant that over looks the river. Extensive wine list and specials to accompany. More an experience of fine dining then you can enjoy a drink in comfort by the fire in a cozy bar.

My partner and I had booked a table for dinner at The Plough. We were immediately greeted at arrival and shown to the number plate registration terminal. Once we were seated we were offered to order a drink right away. Service was great. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious. Our waitress Paula was fantastic, she was incredibly attentive and helpful. We really enjoyed our evening and will definitely be back more regularly.

Food was delicious, service good, decor lovely, beautiful setting. Had a voucher for my birthday because I'm on the mailing list which made it really good value for money. Drinks quite pricey is my only criticism.

Anyone who knows this village will already know that the setting is perfect. Been here many times but first time eating at The Plough. Came here for breakfast with my dad and we were served by the gorgeous Paula. She was friendly, fun and couldn’t have done more. The food was spot on. Highly recommended and will certainly be back.

I have hearted it and will definitely come back!

Stopped for lunch at this very pleasant pub. Nicely done out, we were offered a table in either the bar, outside or in the restaurant. We choose the latter. We were quickly attended to and our drinks arrived promptly. Unfortunately there was a 45 minute wait for our main course even though we didn't order any starters. Other than that this a good venue for a pub restaurant offering a good variety of dishes.

Ensure front of house is present as soon customers enter the building as we arrived and waited for a few minutes and no one was there to take us to our table.

Unfortunately, my main dish was served cold. As was the gravy. However, our server was amazing! Funny, charming and was really great! Full of energy! His name was Danny and I can’t praise him enough!
