Possible the 2nd best ride (after Flying Dino). Both rides start at same entrance, but the Backdrop has more thrill but longer wait time too. Both rides share the same track, but just 2 different carriages. In the day time, u also have spectacular view of the park/city and as u wind thru the tracks, u feel like on a jet plane... u can feel some G forces and the sunlight spins around u. Worth the wait!

Super awesome, went on this ride twice and backdrop once! Take single rider lane! You can choose your preferred song to play through the ride. Taylor swifts shake it off makes the whole experience few times better!

I listened to a One Directions song and it made my ride something memorable. I'm not a fan of 1D but I had to download that song and play it afterwards

New Ride Experience , Different From Harry Potter Or Dino Ride. As Could Choose The Music Of Yourself While Enjoying The Ride. Hollywood Dream Atmosphere Is Very Comfy, Feels Like In The Boulevard. I Sat And Enjoyed My Popcord And Sausage While Sitting On The Side Walk

Great ride if you want to ride it backwards make sure you join the backdrop queue. Queue was a bit long but that is just dependant on timing

The wait was about 60 minutes on Tuesday morning. There are water fountains and shades so it was bearable. The staff was really friendly and the whole ride well organised. I liked it but immediately got a headache. Maybe I am getting too old.😂

I went 4 times in one day. Literally my favorite. I went on the last rollercoaster because I had the express pass and they let us ride the whole rollercoaster by ourselves and turned every seat to Taylor Swift’s shake it off. AMAZING

Do you have thick legs or a big butt? You'll have to miss this one. The people on the front are looking out for park goers with certain types of body types trying to join the ride to walk them to the side and measure them against a test seat. From the looks of it, anyone with any body shape that differs from a stick or a plank won't fit in the seat. Belly doesn't seem to be much of an issue, just the lower part of the body.

This ride was great. It is the second best here after the dinosaur one. It gives you a feeling that you are floating in the air as most your legs are dangling when seated VS the dinosaur one where you are literally superman. They metal detector you so no wallet or phone in pocket . Luckily their locker system is quite guite robust as there are 2 levels so when your ride departs, your locker closes and the previous ride arrives and their different level locker opens. My son was too scared to do backdrop, ie the reverse of this ride on same track where you go backwards (red coloured). Should mention that you do not go upside down on this ride. Use express pass if you want to skip queue or go in morning on week day.

very rude staff. one person shouted at me in Japanese, I don't understand Japanese. they didn't speak English. my mood was spoiled by the employees. I do not recommend it for people who are not from Japan. I will definitely never come back here

Nice fast ride that lasts for about 1 minute. The wait took 15min with express at 11am.

Visited on Nov 2023. Actually really good; ride itself is quite short but you get to choose between 5 songs (Shake It Off by Taylor Swift, Bad by Michael Jackson etc.) which is played during the ride itself.

One of the better roller coasters here. The overall ride was thrilling throughout and not one part of the ride was boring and just filling in the time. Furthermore, this had a backdrop version which meant going backwards entirely! Creative and super fun!

Waited in line 80 minutes for the backdrop ride version and the ride got cancelled due to injuries which I understand can happen. But we were booted from the very front of line to the exit. I don’t understand why they couldn’t have just used the forward facing cars for our line. And the compensation they gave us was an express ticket which I can’t even use practically because I’m don’t live in Japan or close at all. Wasted 80 mins of my time here.

Rode on both the front and backwards. Such a great ride. Adrenaline wise it is probably the best ride at USJ. Other than flying dinosaur. Always busy I would buy a snack before waiting.

One of the nicest ride in USJ. I like the way you listen to certain music list while you are in the ride. The backdrop is also amazing, however as single rider they told me dropback not available for single rider. If you have a chance to get fast track then do.

Third ride of the day.. Backdrop.. If you can only choose one, go for backdrop as you front ride is common.. backdrop have a different experience.. recommended.. Waiting time is 100 minutes.. 🤦🏻

I could not ride this roller coaster because I am too big for it. It was very frustrating when the staff asked me to sit in a chair to check the safety and it was too small for me.

They have an very strict policy about bringing NOTHING with you on the ride that makes no sense. It is a simple coaster with no looping or inversion. They scan you with a metal detector just before boarding and will even make you empty your ZIPPED pockets. Why ? How can it open by itself ? They even insisted I removed a tissue from my jean's pocket and one of the employee was so rude about the whole thing.

Best roller coaster ever!! The ability to choose a party music to be played on the background while you take the ride really makes a difference. Partied 3 times in a day on this ride, and can't wait to come back for more.

One of the two bigger roller coasters in the park, the other being The Flying Dinosaur. I thought this one was much more thrilling in comparison because you do not have a harness. You can choose your music choice during the ride. There’s two rides for this one track, one that goes forward and one that goes backwards. I chose the forward and my ponytail was whipping like crazy; it was so much fun. Unfortunately if you want to ride the backwards one you have to line up again.

Top few rides here. Facing the back makes the ride more exciting as you don’t know where are the drops!

In Osaka, especially Universal City, this is the first thing that I want to try when I visit Universal Studio Japan. The most interesting rides in this amusement park. So recommended!! You should try this rides if you don't have any medical issues.
