Absolutely great onsen! Fyi, no tattoos allowed just like most onsens. They close at 1:00 am, which is nice for late visits. They have several restaurants including yakiniku, udon, tonkatsu, Japanese curry etc. They have a front gift shop as well as a gift shop downstairs; gift shop downstairs closes early, but upper gift shop stays open until they close. They have many bathing pools both inside and out that are gender segregated. They also have a family onsen (also segregated) to take kids to located downstairs that is adorable with kid sized amenities and a kids playroom next door. It is over if the bigger onsens that I've been to and we generally spend several hours there. I highly recommend a visit!

Dated and tired. Paid ¥200 extra to use the special area touted as something like star gazing room, black silica rock room etc but they're all the same: hot rooms and you lie on your towel (in the pyjama suit you're given - coz this is a mixed area) on concrete floor. No drinking fountain in this area, so byo water/juice or buy drinks. The normal bath area was ok. Nice sauna and cold plunge pool, and a selection of pools with hot water coming up from over a kilometre deep. But there are much better public baths and I won't be going back.

They have parking lot for car and motorcycle. Due to the COVID-19,the business hour may be changed for the moment. So just check it out the business hour by telephone call. They offer very comfy bath and sauna. Also you can enjoy some books there. There are some restaurants in that place. If you use train to get there,it would be better to catch the free bus that they offer,which is commuting between JR Ogoto station and this spa.

Onsen with a view of the Biwako with free towels and a discount when you go during nighttime

A nice onsen resort where you can view Lake Biwa. But don't go here at night. Tho it is cheaper, you will not be able to enjoy the famous lake view.

Highly recommended. They have a big outdoor area facing the lake with several different pools for the men’s area. There are also different restaurants and a huge resting area with reclining sofas. If you read Japanese there’s a nice collection of mangas that you can borrow. You can practically spend a whole day here.

Surprisingly good! Weekday admission price of 1700¥ feels worth it. Free massage chairs, & reclining chairs w personal TV. Lots of Japanese manga. A few restaurants inside. Women's Bath has no view of lake at all. Variety of baths & sauna rooms, as any good super public spa would have. Free shuttle bus from Ogotoonsen station or the stop before (schedule on their site).

This place was closed when they said it was open. Such a long walk from train station. Disappointed

Very nice local onsen with 2 natural springs at 40°C and 36°C, and a large resting area. Be aware that they do not accept guests with tattoos at all.
