The way Canadian Tire Merivale treated me today, without so much an apology, is just unacceptable. I went to that place on Friday the 23rd to ask if they could do a check-up on my car following an air-conditioning breakdown. They asked me to come back on Saturday, which I did. At 9 a.m today, I dropped my car off and the person told me they would call me when the check-up was done for a total of $120. At 4 p.m. the same person, a very impolite lady at the front desk, contemptuously called me back to tell me they didn't have time to check the car, and asked me to come and get my car. They've kept my vehicle for more than 8 hours for nothing, wasted my time and my whole Saturday waiting for them to carry out the inspection, and on top of that I've been scorned... I've had enough of this lack of consideration and respect. There are plenty of garages in Ottawa, and I'll never come back to your store again. You've lost a customer, and I wouldn't recommend your garage in the least.

Had one of the most disgusting interactions with store staff as I was leaving the store with a backpack on. Imagine accusing every customer of store thief without cause simply because they have a backpack on. Where does the management get the nerve to be so offensive with its own neighborhood and customers. Even though I only entered the front area to get a key copied and left directly from the front, which I tried to explain to them as they became aggressive and insistent. When I explained they had no actual legal right to enforce anything, they continued to argue they did. I simply stood my ground, and explained how I'm a trained martial artist who could easily disarm both of them without breaking a sweat, and if they choose to attempt stopping me it was not going to end well for either of them. Eventually they gave up and waddled their way back into the store, cowardly screaming obscenities at their customer. Really bad ownership waiting for a lawsuit to come very soon. It's unlikely I'll ever return to that location.

I recently had a disappointing experience at the Canadiantire store while attempting to price match a kayak purchase, and I feel compelled to share my story. When I approached the customer service desk, hoping to avail their price match policy just as I had done previously with my BBQ stove purchase, I was met with an unpleasant demeanor and a dismissive attitude. The customer service representative gave me a bad face, making me feel unwelcome and unimportant as a customer. To make matters worse, the mover who was responsible for preparing the kayak for me was unhelpful and displayed a careless approach to handling the product. As a result, my brand-new kayak arrived with visible scratches, despite being a fresh purchase. It is worth noting that the kayak was delivered without proper packaging or protective measures, which likely contributed to the damage. This experience has left me deeply dissatisfied and frustrated. As a loyal customer, I expected to be treated with respect and receive assistance in accordance with Canadiantire's supposed commitment to customer service. Unfortunately, both the customer service representative and the mover failed to live up to these expectations. In conclusion, I regret to say that my recent experience at the Canadiantire store has been highly disappointing. The negative attitude from the customer service representative, coupled with the careless product handling, has left a lasting negative impression.

Don’t get me wrong! I love Canadian Tire! I reviewed places the honest possible, based on my experienced in that particular places. Canadian tire has almost have everything in one roof. Displays are always great looking, reduced item are often see, sales are good price too. Today, in one roof. I have never encountered so unprofessional, inpatients, disrespectful and no customer service, And yea I am to name them all. Donna from customer service, Rude Frederick from sales( Garden department) not being helpful. Chris I was asking him about some information about delivery, he was just grumpy as hell. Dina who help us setting up the triangle credit card, was SO impatient! She was in a hurry and she get so prostrated when she didn’t get my email properly and I was trying to spell it to her word by words. So that is my experiences from Canadian Tire today. The reason I gave them 3*** was because of the tidiness, product selection, cleanliness.

I recently purchased two computer tables at the Canadian Tire Merivale Road location, priced at $30 each. The staff was helpful, and the store had a wide selection. The tables are sturdy and well-priced, making it a satisfying shopping experience overall. Store always have well stock of all flyers special items.

I was looking for something to help me move some heavy furniture. I looked on the website and noticed a furniture cart with a handle was 50% off. Told me exactly which Aisle it was in. A quick trip to the store, found it immediately and was on my way home. Easy to put the 4 wheels on the bottom. Way to go Canadian tire for making this experience so fast and easy.

The employees at this location really do seem to try their best when assistance is required. The most amazing part is that I am the one being approached 90% of the time asking if I need any assistance! When you couple that with the amazing sales and vast variety of merchandise, you are in the perfect spot for a great shopping experience! Keep up the fantastic work, ALL EMPLOYEES!

Best Canadian Tire in Ottawa and it isn’t even close. The workers are super helpful and very nice. They activate my parasympathetic system. Very salient environment and my end diastolic volume increases when I reach the cash register. This store will never leave my long term memory. This is a wonderful pop out phenomenon that has classically conditioned me into returning. 5 stars.

While I like this location and the variety of products, almost everytime I go to purchase something here I get catfished with the price. It's common to find a product underneath an incorrect price.I needed to replace a headlight and the bulbs were behind a cage. The price said $39.99 but it was rung up as $59.99. as a consumer, I had no way in knowing that this was the wrong tag for it, as it doesn't name the product on the tag. Additionally, it's behind a cage, so an associate had to open it up to give it to me. Please do better at organizing your products with the correct price.

Big new store at Carlingwood. Getting to it from the mall is a little weird. There's a walkway that tracks along the outside wall to take you to the stores' actual outside entrance. Very large and roomy isles. More overhead signage would help find things better

The auto portion of this store was fantastic. I do not live in Ottawa but had an exhaust issue. the pipe broke in two. Norm was my initial contact, he helped get my vehicle in, or I may have had to sleep in the waiting room. They gave me an initial quote and also gave me a cheaper option, which I jumped at. When my bill was presented to me, it was even lower than the original (cheaper) quote. I was more than impressed with the entire procedure. Norm and crew should be commended .

Very high prices, but some good sales and clearance. Most return clearance is ridiculously priced, often incomplete or broken items, and with inconsistent pricing..

I love Canadian tire. You never know what to expect when you get to the clearance section. There are always deals better than 75% off. Sometimes it’s difficult to locate knowledgeable staff to accommodate for your needs. So bring your phone in and do your own research. The app shows what isle your everyday needs are located in. You’re welcome!

The auto service is TERRIBLE! Dont bring a Car here unless you want spend a fourtune. My car was acting odd and brought it here [my biggest regret ever!] Spent over $1600 for them to *sandblast* due to carbon built up, car still acts the exact same way but worse. There's now some hissing sound coming from the engine. Battery wasn't fully inplace [shaking while driving] coolant level was extremely low, bunch of parts left in engine bay. Do I bring it back and have them ruin the car more or take my loss and go somewhere else. Don't ever take a car, find a garage you can trust, DONT BRING A CAR HERE. I honestly regret taking my car here! The main store is great it feels like a Canadian Walmart. Has more product than expected, store is always clean and staff are very helpful.

I cannot say enough about Gail and the wonderful staff at this location. I wanted to buy a beautiful new bike for my daughter's birthday. The app let me know that there was one in stock, but it was not built yet, and the store cannot sell it unbuilt. Gail was in customer service on Friday and she pulled all of the strings and got this bike built for me the same day. You really made my daughter's sixth birthday a hit!!! Thank you so much again!

I want to thank Dave and Moe!! I was trying to get my son into work early this morning when I noticed I had a flat tire. Dave told me to drive right into the Bay Area. Moe not only fixed my flat but checked the pressure on all my tires and had me on the road in less than 10 minutes! My hero! Thanks again for being amazing!

Store branded products are of questionable quality and I was told they are exchange only, no store credit or refund. Bought an item that broke on first use that I now don’t trust or want a replacement of. Only solution offered by manager Dan was an exchange for another. He was willing to accept my promise of never buying another Canadian Tire branded product again. They have a lot of useful products in the store, and prices are competitive when things are on sale. Buyer beware of store branded products.

By all appearances, this store does honour the Scanning Code of Practice, and they may be systematically intimidating clients in order to do so. Just check other 1 star reviews and you’ll see a trend with these managers. An item I tried to purchase was clearly labeled at $79.99, but scanned for $154.99 at checkout. I have pictures of the item and it’s tag if anyone is interested. I asked to speak to a manager, as I’m aware of the code, and that the price is supposed to be matched to what the item is advertised for via the tag. Dianne and Lucie (store managers) were incredibly rude, walking away multiple times during the interaction. I was left waiting at the counter and actively had to follow up to get an answer while they ignored me and started serving other customers. I understand annoying customers, but I was met with immediate aggression while politely trying to raise the issue. So immediate in fact that I find it hard to imagine that they don’t react this way to anyone who brings it up. Really, really unfortunate that they are in my experience they appear to be using intimidation tactics in order to avoid honouring the code just to save a couple bucks. I will be filing a formal report with the BBB, and will be filing a complaint with the Retail Council of Canada. I’m not easily intimidated, but many people are. Even if I am COMPLETELY wrong about this (and I don’t think I am) I feel awful for the abuse others have definitely received while solely trying to get a customer service issue resolved.

Bought a sleeping bag in September, but couldn't get the one that was actually on sale so I had to buy a more expensive one. So I'm buying a hundred dollar sleeping bag instead of the on sale one and the cashier says she has to check my bag because of store policy. There's no other store in the area aside from this place that does this to it's customers.

Easy to find what you're looking for, very little waiting at the cash registers. Theory knowledgeable autos staff at the parts desk. but as for general merchandise you're not going to find much knowledge in the staffing but regarding products. They know where everything is for sure but they couldn't tell you much about the products they sell.

Good location, ample parking, and usually the only location with the best on-hand stock compared to other locations in the city. Staff I’ve encountered on most of not all of my visits are friendly, patient, and eager to help and will provide advice when asked, however, at times advice is better given by someone else more familiar with that department if they are unsure rather then just saying “I’m not sure but buy this”. Any customer who gives an employee a hard time because the employee said “I’ll get you someone who knows this stuff better” isn’t looking to get the right stuff. Otherwise, it’s my go to location.

If there would be negative remarks , I would have given that. Worst customer service experience. Staff is so erogant and rude, I don’t think any customer deserves that. Everyone spends hard earned money. I bought there snow brush, was told by staff that come with receipt after couple of weeks as it would be on sale on next flyer. He told me price which is about to come in next flyer. My only mistake was trust them. I was buying the brush on sale, as he guided me I bought that one. Yesterday when I went with my receipt, customer service including manager was so rude. They told it should be within 14 days. I simply asked this was told by your staff, they are allowed to provide wrong information. Won’t you do anything. Manager told I can’t do anything. It should be within 14 days. I asked them to show me where it is written. They said it is not written anywhere, no staff member knows. So how come I should be known, I was told to come after couple of weeks anytime within month. I just went yesterday and they were saying you are 3 days late. I would not recommend anyone to trust any of their staff. Worst ever experience. Don’t waste your money, drive and go to another Canadian Tire.

I went to Canadian Tire on Merivale Sunday at 12:05 PM to return an entire set (5 packages) of Lug Nuts, as a mechanic at Oil Changers stated they were the incorrect thread size for the vehicle. The customer service representative was immediately extremely rude about the packages being opened. I explained to her that they were the incorrect size and she still continued to question how she is going to re sell that packaging rather than helping the customer get the correct part. I asked to speak to her manager and things went from bad to worse. Ed the manager was extremely rude about the situation, he re looked up the part in the system and then re assured me that the part actually was correct. He told me that he didn’t want to “help me out” because he believed I was lying about the situation. I was so taken aback from the situation I took the parts and left. This morning I went to my actual mechanic and they confirmed that the thread size is in fact incorrect, and I have the proof on the invoice. The part I was assured multiple times was correct was not. I was given 12x1.25 pitch when the car needs 12x1.5. So I had to purchase new lug nuts and Canadian Tire will not return the parts even though they are entirely incorrect. I can’t express how dissatisfied I am with Canadian Tire. I am a long time customer and a CT financial customer and this has me questioning whether I should even go back. This location is more concerned about re selling the parts rather than getting the customer what they need.
