The food was pretty good but for the price, I don't think I will go back. I do recommend that if you go, you order the beef tataki as it is simply magical. I don't know what specific component of the dish I liked but the combination of ingredients just blew my mind. For $22, it really makes me sad that I love it so much. Because for 10 thin pinky sized beef, it wouldn't scratch the surface of your hunger. The crab was done well. The coating was light and airy. The sauce creamy yet not heavy. It was delicious but it was a tough act to follow the beef tataki. The quail was cooked perfectly and overall had good flavours. The ravioli had this refreshing quality that made me want to eat 20 more. The shrimp pasta was essentially drenched in the restaurant's version of cocktail sauce. It was a skippable dish. The duck tartare was a flop for me. It packed a punch with that mustard (the feeling up your nose when you eat wasabi). The ranking: beef tataki > crab > quail >> shrimp >>>>>>>>>> duck tartare.

What a fantastic experience from the moment we walked in. Andrea was so warm and welcoming and a fantastic help with her suggestions for dishes and drinks. We ended up getting the Ceviche, Duck Tartare, Foie Gras Spanakopita, Chicken Tacos, Flank Steak and Baked Brie. All the dishes were beautifully presented and tasty. Only dish where we could make a suggestion was the Duck Tartare where the taste of the duck was lost in the accompanying sauces. Drinks were fantastic also!! Overall it was an absolutely amazing experience and perfect restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. Enjoy.

This place turned out to be an amazing gem that well be sure to come back to. My group and I were looking for a place for a light dinner before going to the Kevin hart show on Friday night. And this place was absolutely incredible. The whole menu sounded amazing, and our biggest concern was that we had somewhere to be and couldn't try it all. The Tuna tartar was perfect just melts in your mouth. The Lamb was fantastic. And all the desserts were to die for. A Special shout out to our server/bartender Charles. Even though I still have my doubts that his real name. 10/10 will return

Phenomenal meal, start to finish. Gorgeous presentation, exceptional flavour and seasoning. This is an absolute gem in a Kanata strip mall and everyone should go here. From creative and interesting charcuterie platters to perfectly diced tartare, this restaurant has mastered sophisticated small plates. Every dish is exceptional. I've been here a half dozen times and never had a bad bite.

Got lucky to have a chance to try this fabulous restaurant. Is just as same as it described, cozy replace with wonderful food. Based on my English level is really hard to show how amazing the food is so I tried my best to take the picture. From the appetizer until the last main dish, I got no chance to even check my mobile game, food is quick and fresh, service is knowledge and friendly, definitely 100% trust the service his experience will let you know how to enjoy this place as the best. If there is 10 stars, I will do 10. Definitely will be here again.

This is easy 5 star from me. Food is great and service compliments food. Price reflects well the experience. Feeling guilty for driving so many times downtown while Amuse is walking distance. Great discovery for us. Thank you!

Cozy little place, nicely decorated, the food was really really good! Presentation was superb. Service was good and the only thing I would want to recommend is that the waitress not wear yoga pants and baggy top, mainly because this restaurant seems better than that. Thank you.

It was my husband's birthday, and I chose Amuse restaurant for our night of celebration. Amuse delivered an incredible experience. The food was exceptionally delicious, and the cozy, romantic atmosphere set the perfect tone for the evening. Highly recommended!😊

I have only been here twice with my girlfriend, and we are so in love with Amuse that we are making it a point to go here very regularly. Great spot for great wine and sharing plates. Both bottles of red wine we tried were unique and found rarely, if at all, at LCBO and other restaurants. I get the feeling that this is probably the same for other wines on that list, which is pretty cool. On our first visit, we both had the shrimp cocktail (we did not share it, and thankfully so as it was devoured by each of us) and it was amazing....a staple dish at restaurants, but Amuse took it to a whole new level. On our second visit, I had the prosciutto tartine and the risotto. The tartine had impeccable flavour and the risotto was a hit as well. My friend had the salmon tartare and the Arctic char, both of which she was a huge fan of. Finally we dared listen to the dessert menu. I'm not one for ordering desserts typically, but something told me the "cheesecake" would probably be good there - and it did not disappoint in the slightest! It was some of the best cheesecake I've had but interestingly in a mousse/custard form (or something to that effect). My friend had this baked meringue dessert call Eton mess I think, and she loved it! The atmosphere is cozy, elegant and intimate. The service is fantastic. The gentleman (I think maybe he's the owner) is very attentive and friendly. This place is a must-try for foodies and wine connoisseurs in my opinion. I'll be back and back again because I have to try every item on that menu (wine and otherwise).

Great little unassuming place in Kanata. Next to a gas station and car wash but don’t let that fool you. Food and service was excellent!! The appetizer o the house was a cleaver little pocket of fried Brie and chilli jam in a wonton wrap. My favourite dish was the duck tartare hands down but everything was amazing. The lamb chops were cooked to perfection. The salmon carpaccio was the best refreshing “salad” for spring/summer. You can tell the chef have really put a lot of thought and care into the flavourings of their dishes. It was a great treat for us. We always enjoy ordering many small dishes/tapas we can share so this hit the spot.

Great meal! We had our first visit to the place and it is excellent. Server was excellent, attentive to food allergies, made excellent suggestions and delivered prompt, well flowing service. We will certainly return. This is high end food and service so expect to pay premium prices for it but it is well worth it.

Came here with a friend last night- first time there and everything was amazing! It is easy to miss as it is located in a pretty random spot! Service was quick, our server was lovely and attentive and food was so delicious. A tapas style restaurant and offers a variety of dishes for the palette to experience. I’m still thinking about the bison tataki! Atmosphere is perfect for date night. Would recommend and I’ll be back!

My husband and I went here this past Saturday in celebration of our third wedding anniversary! This place went above and beyond our expectations. Very small intimate setting, with delicious food, and we had the sweetest waitress. We loved every part of the dinner- if you like high-end, fine dining experiences with very flavourful food we definitely recommend visiting Amuse. We ordered: Small Charcuterie Board, Smoked Duck (amuse-bouche) *complimentary*, Softshell Crab, Duck Tartare, Quail, Lamb, and Ice Cream Sandwich Although we enjoyed all the dishes, our top favourites were the Quail and Lamb. They recommend 2 dishes per person, and I would say we were very satisfied by the end of our meal. We shall definitely be back!

Very friendly staff, waitress was bilingual. The food was good, but I couldn't help but to feel a bit underwhelmed for the price. Also the menu was a bit confusing. It said "shared plates" but the waitress had to point out which ones were actually meant to be shared and which plates were more appropriate as a main.

It is a hidden gem. If not insisting on reading the sign I wouldn't know a good place like this exist! I went with my partner we had the baked brie, quill, steak tartar and cream burlee for dessert. It was great! Everything was just good. The server was nice and accommodating. All in all was good and tasty!

We had a delicious visit to this hidden gem last evening. The haute cuisine sharing plates were surprisingly filling and a feast for the senses. Our server was a wonderful host with great menu suggestions. We’ll be back, for sure!

Josh of Amuse Kitchen catered our son's Night before the Wedding reception at our home. He was wonderful to deal with, was very prompt to reply and offer suggestions. The food was absolutely amazing and I am from a family of foodies! Everyone is still talking about how delicious it all was and how beautifully presented. We went with appetizer platters and they were all amazing. I would highly recommend Amuse Kitchen for catering as well as for the restaurant.

What a gem! Great menu made decisions hard to make. The fig plate to start was lovely. The lamb followed and was brilliant. I forgot to take a picture of the generous crème brûlée which was lovely. The high quality made the price feel even more reasonable. Best resto in this area for sure.

ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE food and desert. So glad we found this place. After a few disappointing restaurants in Ottawa we were over the moon with how delicious the food is here. Our server was also amazing and the place is clean and well decorated. We would come back here in a heartbeat.

The food is very delicious here. We got the beef tataki, soft shell crab, duck tartare, shrimp and quail. The beef tataki and quail were my favourites.

Beautiful environment, extremely friendly staff. It's honestly worth the price, the food is astronomically good. Most definitely worth it.... you won't regret it.

SUCH AMAZING FOOD! Ok so I live in Toronto and consider myself a foodie. We went to Amuse for Mother's Day as my parents live in the Ottawa, and have to say, driving up to the strip mall behind a gas station made me question what the experience would be like. I am so thrilled to say that I couldn't have been more wrong - every single thing was absolutely spectacular, from the wine recommendation to my dad's perfectly cooked and seasoned steak. I had octopus that was by far the best octopus I've ever had in my life, and it's one of my favourite foods, so that's saying something. Cannot say enough how great the food was, I plan to go every time I'm visiting my parents. Bravo Amuse!!

Charming little place with shareable plates but really small portion for the price Food was decent but really small portion to share for the price ($55/pp with mostly just one drink). My biggest issue was that most food was lukewarm when it came out, and we did ask to bring out each dish as it is ready. Staff was very friendly and accommodating, top notch service but I probably won't return. This was my last attempt to have a "fine dinner" in Kanata, disappointed.

Absolutely love Amuse Kitchen! Phenomenal service every time we go, and their menus are unique & inspired. Tried their newest menu last night, tried every sharing plate and each one was out of this world. Can't wait for my next visit.

From the complimentary amuse bouche to the delicious dessert, the food was amazing and each dish packed a lot of flavour. Service was fantastic and the crispy bison was a great meal for our 7 year old as well!

What a great restaurant. when I arrived, There was one waiter for full restaurant of 40 people. I set my expectations that it would be a slow night but we had a machine of a server serve us food drinks and dessert while explaining every dish! the kitchen had also pumped out delicious food and dessert. super impressed with everything and highly recommend. pic is of dessert.

Sorry but only 2 stars for me. Terrible value for money - tiny small amount of beef (not an expensive cut) and a few veg for main dish?? And they REALLY cannot cook well done. Ok maybe many people prefer rare beef but any restaurant charging those prices should be able to provide what the customer asks. My (small!) amount of beef arrived rare, and i sent it back only to find it was black when it came back. I gave up. No compensation from management of this restaurant - yes, I could have complained but would have expected them to care about customer satisfaction. Obviously not. So I cannot recommend this place.

Amazing food, great atmosphere and the team takes care of you. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a nice evening out. The menu has something for everyone whether you want to try something exotic or traditional popular dishes done better than other places. Easy one to add to your list of top spots.

This was a second time here for myself and my partner. The food and service is amazing. They do a wonderful job of pacing the different dishes. This time, we decided on the charcuterie board, baked brie, paella, and the quail. Every dish was delicious. I would recommend Amuse to anyone looking for a fine dining level experience or having a celebratory dinner.
