This is one of the nicest hotels in the city! Great first impressions. The rooms are tastefully designed and the bathrooms are clean, very modern and elegant. It's the first hotel we've visited that had the light turned on in our room to welcome us. The staff is so cheerful and willing to help with anything. We will make this our place to stay when we visit Ottawa.

Absolute worst experience of my life Called and made reservation with the hotel at 6am after working on the Ottawa lite rail transit was told room would be ready upon arrival at 6:30 am I explained I only had cash and the reception dust said that would be fine. Once I arrived the hotel there was a immediate dispute about the price of the room followed by the lack of a room. This was corrected by 8:39 am when I was told they did not accept cash and they could not accommodate my stay that I would have to figure something else out. I would rather refer someone to the homeless shelter than to refer someone to deal with the arrogance of the receptionist at this motel. My clothes were abut soiled from working all night to provide Ottawa with safe and practical way to commute Thank you

Joined my husband on his business trip and brought our 2.5yr old daughter. He was able to work while my daughter and I enjoyed time with family in Ottawa and at the hotel. She loved the front desk staff, management and Sarah in housekeeping. Ahmed was amazing with us- an incredible ambassador for the Sandman brand. Since returning, my daughter continues to ask if we can “go on a car ride to the hotel and see Ahmed”. The pool was also great to have and wifi worked brilliantly. As a toddler mom, I was grateful for the lobby coffee bar too. We will be back and hope to see familiar faces. My husband has said he will request the same hotel from his company for all his future trips.

I hosted a small business meeting at this hotel that included accommodations and meeting space. The service I received from the sales staff (Julie) and the banquet staff (Chelsea) was second to none. The communication, the service, the meeting space and accommodations were exactly what we needed to feel comfortable with when selecting a hotel to host our current meeting and future meetings. Highly recommended and will certainly be back.

This was our 3rd time staying at the Sandman airport Hotel. As always we had 5 star service. Thank you to Mridul at the front desk who was so friendly and helpful this particular trip this past weekend. The hotel has really good staff overall. The hotel and rooms are very clean. The rooms are well equipped. We have always booked a suite with a kitchenette. The beds are ridiculously comfortable. We will without a doubt be back and we always recommend to friends and family.

The front lobby has beautiful decor and it’s very warm and inviting. Staff are friends but not all of them are well trained or carry excellent customer service skills. We arrived at 3:25pm, check in is at 3pm and our room still wasn’t ready. We weren’t granted access till 3:45pm. I would call in advance and make sure your room is ready, instead of having to wait in the lobby. A cleaning staff entered our room at 4:30pm without knocking, looked in and left, so bizarre and unprofessional. We weren’t informed at check-in that you must book the pool in advance and need a “special key” to enter. We walked into the pool area with our room key and were informed by the family using the pool of this information. After our turn in the pool we headed back to the front desk to book the pool for the following day. Get up the next day and get ready to enjoy the pool with my child only to be told, the staff the evening before booked us into the gym and made a mistake. We had to wait & change our morning plans, very disappointing.

Great Hotel and well situated for business travel into Ottawa. This is my go to hotel in Ottawa, close to my office a d the 3 star rating in my view is too low, should be a 4, great amenities, which include a pool and the adjacent restaurant, CHOP, is great, no going outside. Front desk staff are always warm and welcoming with special mention to Mridul, who always greats me with a warm smile.

Nice looking facility, really great staff. But three things prevented me from getting a good night’s sleep. My bed was so soft it was like sleeping in a hammock. Not great for a bad back. The pillows (6 per room) are all huge, cheap foam ones. So I woke up with a sore neck. Some were labeled “soft” but I could discern no difference. And despite it being mid December, the air conditioner (which sounds like an idling transport truck) kept coming on during the night. I travel to Ottawa on business frequently, and was hopeful that this might be a good place to stay. Sorely disappointed.

Great place and even better staff! We have stayed at this hotel a number of times while travelling. Rooms are extremely comfortable and all of the staff is exceptional. I had a small problem with my bill and the front desk manager, Taleb was extremely helpful. I have worked for many years in hospitality and appreciate the professionalism and level of customer service provided at the Sandman. Highly recommend this hotel.

Always a great choice if you want to stay close to the airport. Rooms are spacious, very clean and very quiet. Mridul at the front desk helped me check in, service was amazing. It’s a good idea to register for RSVP reward, you can have early check in and free room upgrades. Highly Recommend!

Absolutely terrible experience. We got here on a Friday afternoon after a 6 hour drive to find out their check in system was down and had to wait in the lobby with the rest of the guests having to check in. Our kids wanted to use the pool, it was closed for maintenance but was supposed to be open soon. It never opened that night. When we were issued room keys we got up to our room to find they did not work. Woke up again, Saturday. Not open. Finally around 9:40am after hounding the staff about when it would be opened they told us it finally would. The kids used the pool then we went to the local museum leaving the “room service required” sign on the door. We came Back to room keys that didn’t work again, no sign on the door, a bed that was still not changed from prior night (3 year old accident), dirty towels and overflowing garbage. For $400 a night this is a joke!

When i arrived to the airport i called the hotel for a shuttle and they arrived within minutes. The staff were friendly and helpful especially Sophia at the front desk. The rooms were very clean and the beds were so comfy. The restaurant next door was superb. I even enjoyed the music played in the lobby. I will Definitely return again. Sandman is amazing!!

This hotel is located close to the airport. It is more dedicated to overnight stays. Has a nice restaurant for dinner only. I would go across the parking lot for breakfast instead. Really not any amenities inside the hotel. It's looks like they are building up restaurants and shops in the area. The room was ok but the climate control was uncontrollable. Only one elevator was working which wasn't an issue except for morning when all the airline staff were trying to get out and the cleaning staff were trying to get there large carts from floor to floor. They do have there own airport shuttle which is convenient for those late night flights.

I travelled to Ottawa for a quick trip and it was my first time staying at the hotel. The hotel shuttle picked me from the airport within 15 minutes of calling. I arrived earlier than the stipulated check in time but the staff were able to eventually get me a room. They were patient, courteous and very helpful. The hotel is located in a lovely area with many restaurants around for dining options. Overall I enjoyed my stay and I would stay here again when in Ottawa. Special thanks to Mridul and Lovely, who went above and beyond to ensure that I had a lovely stay.

I recently had an incredible experience at the Sandman Hotel in Ottawa that far surpassed my expectations. From the moment I entered the hotel lobby to the day of my departure, I was treated with exceptional care and attention. Every aspect of my stay was flawless, and I can't praise it enough. Although I encountered a minor inconvenience during my visit, with only one elevator in service which almost made me late for a red carpet casting show, I approached JADE at the front desk feeling frustrated. However, she proved to be understanding and took immediate action to let me know issue has been already addressedm. Her outstanding customer service ensured that my stay remained wonderful. I genuinely believe that every hotel should have someone like her. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to JADE for her kindness and for going above and beyond to make my stay memorable. I will definitely choose the Sandman Hotel without hesitation in the future.

Taleb was incredibly hospitable and made a great experience for us as newly weds. He made sure we were well accommodated; it felt like we were home. The hotel is clean and quiet in a very convenient location. Would definitely come back again

Great location. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The room was beautiful, the bathroom was breathtaking. I have never seen a shower like that in a hotel before (wish I had it at home) loved that there was a balcony that I could start the morning with a cup of coffee or wind down at the end of the day on!

I stayed at this hotel for over a week during my visit to Ottawa. The entire hotel was peaceful, and the bedding was exceptionally comfortable, providing me with a much-needed rest after a long journey. The serene environment was perfect for overcoming jet lag. The front desk staff, Mridul and Sophia, were welcoming, attentive, and excellent at communication during both check-in and check-out. Any minor issues I encountered were promptly and pleasantly resolved, reflecting the hotel's genuine commitment to customer service. This aspect is truly noteworthy and essential. Overall, a wonderful experience.

If I could honestly give higher than 5 stars, I would! When I booked my room online, I had asked if it was possible to have a room with a balcony since not all rooms have them. Since it was done through a third party app, I wasn’t aware that what I had booked didn’t have a balcony. The ladies at the front desk were more than accommodating and must’ve sensed my need for self-care as they were able to upgrade me to a cute little suite with a balcony. This is beyond my expectations and exactly what I needed!! Thank you Sophia and Fari for going above and beyond. The room is nice and clean. Fully equipped with a fridge, stove, microwave and dishwasher along with coffee maker, glasses and dishes. This is a lot more than I expected and I am so happy I decided to book here. Highly recommend!! Ooh….and not to mention, each side of the bed has 1 soft and 1 firm pillow. Seems they thought of everything!

I stayed at the sandman because my flight was cancelled. I was very stressed and upset upon arrival but the front desk staff were so kind and found me a room fast. They upgraded my room so I could have a relaxing stay. The rooms were huge, modern and very clean. I was very thankful for their service and would stay here again in the future if needed.

Britta introduced herself as she had held the elevator for our family and I was able to tell her how impressed I was with not only how clean the hotel is but how friendly the cleaning staff are. At other hotels the cleaning staff often avoid engagement and eye contact. But here at the Sandman signature hotel Ottawa airport I found all staff to be cheerful and authentic in asking how my day was etc.

When I arrived at the hotel, I was met by M Ridul for check in.Because of a slight problem with the deposit, he allowed me to pay with my debit card for which I was most appreciative. He was very professional and more than accommodating with my dilemma.This morning, my deposit was refunded without any problems with the help of Sophia and Jade. I was so impressed by the way I was treated, I will be returning. As far as the restaurant is concerned, the food and service were top notch. I met a wonderful waitress by the name of Lisa and when I come back, I will definitely ask for her.

The hotel was nice and comfortable but the real reason that this review gets 5 stars was the incredible customer service by Samir. He recognized his co worker was struggling and creating issues and he came over and cleaned up her mess as well as took care of me and my young family. I will make it a point to stay at this hotel again solely because of the fantastic customer service. Thanks again Samir!

I take the time to write this review, because I felt very good in this hotel. I am Latina and in other hotels the staff have been racist when hearing that they speak Spanish I want to congratulate the hotel for its great staff, both humane and efficient in terms of cleaning. The rooms and the impeccable property, I give the hotel a 10... I had the opportunity to speak with a hotel staff, in this case it was a housekeeper named Michelle, fortunately she speaks Spanish, she made me feel at home very friendly and i hope when i come back to ottawa the staff is still great THANK YOU MICHELLE AND STAFF

We booked a room for four while we were traveling to study with family. The location is convenient, just minutes from the Ottawa International Airport and there are plenty of bus stops to all places in Ottawa. The room was clean and spacious. The bathroom is also clean. They have an indoor pool too. There are several places to eat around the building, it even has its own fine restaurant and they had different types of food. They provided room service daily. Parking is good too. Value for money. I want to emphasize that I saw a young lady named Michelle on several occasions, she always made us talk and we liked her, I hope in my next stay in this place everything remains as it is, especially the staff

One of my favorite Sandman locations in Canada. As an F.A. Sleep and location are critical to our health and safety. For this, I’m glad we have business with this line of hotels. The location it’s perfect if you need to be close to the airport, and unlike other airport hotels, you have a variety of places to grab food. Sit down restaurants and fast food chains. I recommend this hotel. Con: Their pillows are Firm or Soft no in between.

Beautiful hotel. Nicely renovated and tastefully decorated. Me and my family all loved our stay there. There is also a nice pool and gym which we did not get a chance to use but we will surely use it at our next visit.

Poor service -servers ignored us -they should have acknowledged us and then say I will be back -asked for bread and had to pay for it -some yellow stuff with (onions in it?). I asked for butter for the bread 15 min pasted and the server we asked never brought any butter. -we had to wait until our server showed up to ask for butter. The steak menu indicated (medium rare was pink inside.) I ordered and got rare steak. It is too underdone for me but we had a hospital visit after the food; did not send it back. Pam's salad was fine. Maybe they don't want me to return. We have been there 4 times and the other 3 were fine.

One would think that a relatively nice hotel in 2021 would at least have a TV with the capability of streaming Netflix or YouTube. I think it’s common sense that your guests would want to watch YouTube or Netflix ? Maybe invest in $100 TV from Walmart that has that

This is a really great hotel. Last night I had made a reservation with another hotel and they had entered it for the incorrect date. I have stayed at the Sandman several times in the past and really enjoyed the hotel and the service, however since I was only staying one night I thought I would save a few dollars and stay somewhere else. This was a poor choice! I showed up at 11pm and the staff could not have been more amazing. They gave me the room for less than I had the reservation for at the other hotel and they upgraded my room. I was very impressed. I got into the room and it felt like home. Well done, I will be returning again!

Best shower ever! So after driving from North Bay I was tired and sore and honestly the rain shower plus shower head combo was the best. The room was clean and the hotel is located in a busy area with lots of restaurant options. Only bad thing is they offer a box breakfast which is okay for Covid times but I hope once the pandemic is over they might offer a similar breakfast like they do in England.

We were in town for a volleyball tournament (3 nights) and really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The location is fantastic, with many different restaurant options within walking distance. The amenities were great and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a comfortable stay. Special shout out to front desk staff (Nora & Saint) for being so kind and so helpful! Highly recommended. We'll definitely stay at this hotel again in the future!

Probably the most reasonable option so close to the airport. We happened to be visiting in Nepean so it was well-located for us. Awesome decor - I love the upscale mixed with the absurd. Kudos to designer for making a hotel lobby so much fun. Small pool, hot tub, & a gym which I appreciate. The seat level in the hot tub is bizarrely high though, not sure if it's supposed to just be a shoulder rest? Very strange. The room was nice. On a personal note, the bed was a bit too soft for me and my limbs kept losing circulation. First world problems, I know. Staff was friendly and service was prompt for check in and extra towels. Note that the back door is locked at some point in the evening and there's no card swipe to get in from that side. I would suggest adding a card entry option or at least a sign posted with the time it will be locked. Overall a good hotel and we'll likely stay here again.

In the chaos of the most recent snowstorm it was nice to have a place to go. The hotel was okay with my checking in earlier, to get out of the snow, with no extra charge. Room is spacious and clean, modern. Loved the rain shower head in the bathroom, Starbucks tea and coffee, and a super comfortable bed. Didn't want to get up this morning!

Was great the first night. Second night the power went out from the flash storm. Was a weird stay. No lights, no TV, no hot water in the morning. Had to walk up 6 flights of stairs, and back down with all my bags in the morning. Not the hotels fault. I would definitely stay again. Really nice new hotel

Shockingly nice Hotel and what a relief. We had to stay the night due to flight cancellation. I was stressed during check-in and my airline had me on hold while I spoke with the person who was in the front (Mr. Samir), He was very gracious and understood why I was on the phone. The room itself was beautiful and spacious with views It’s layout and high ceilings (we were on the top floor with what must have been around 15+ foot ceilings) The bathroom was nice and there was some hallway noise, but the manager was able to solve that as fast as I have ever imagined, The in-hotel restaurant was also tasty with friendly service, pretty reasonable prices, and comfortable. I would 100% stay at this hotel next time.

My father passed away in Ottawa in early May. As I live abroad it was a scramble to find accommodation for 15 days in Ottawa. I’ve stayed at the Sandman hotel before and really enjoyed my experience, so I thought I’d try them again. I called the hotel directly and spoke with Gan to explain the situation. He was really accommodating and booked me in for 15 days with no issues. The hotel has good leisure facilities as it has a gym and pool. My infant daughter really loved the pool. The hotel is also in a great location. In the same complex, you’ll find multiple restaurants. There is also a Costco within 5 minutes of the hotel and plenty of food options within a 5-10 Minute drive. During our stay, the front desk staff and cleaning staff were nothing short of fantastic. They accommodated our every request, and I had some strange requests. During a medical emergency with my daughter, they really helped in terms of calling a paramedic and getting my daughter to breathe again. Also during our stay, Ottawa was hit with a major storm which knocked out power for 3-4 days in most areas. The hotel was accommodating and supporting in terms of offering discounts for the nights we were impacted. They also bought food and refreshments for the guests. All in all, I enjoyed the stay and the staff. I’d give the hotel a 10/10 would recommend to anyone.

First time in a long time visiting Ottawa. This was a work related however the hotel was only 20mins away from the airport. 5min from work. The hotel is very quiet and clean. Room is very spacious. I like the option of both soft and firm pillows. Bed was decently sized. There were room options that had balcony which is a nice option on summer days. Unfortunately I didn't know that or else would have requested for one. The hotel is connected to Chops restaurant which is a bonus however food isn't that flavourful. Steak ordered was decent along with the vegetables. Ordered drinks there as well. Lots of selections for drinks.

The rooms are excellent in cleanliness, I travel the world but this hotel is exceptional. The house keeping here are exceptional in dedication and ethics. So thank you. Stayed only 1 night due to flight being cancelled. Extremely comfortable bed. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice atmosphere. 10 minutes from airport. 159 a night for a room with a queen bed. Didn't use any service due to short stay. West jet covered the bill.

I was placed here for work. The suite I was in was beautifully done. Clean and comfy. Bedding was freshly cleaned. Pillows were plump, and the bed itself just like goldilocks’ wasn’t too hard and wasn’t too soft. The hotel was quiet, and enjoyable. The hot tub was awesome, it did seem like too much chemical in it. Overall, I would definitely stay there again, I’d also refer my friends and family to stay.

Great rooms, convenient location for us, but what really puts it over the top is the service. We thought we booked a different room online than we walked into and Taleb was excellent. He not only made the necessary changes, but exceeded our expectations. Great stay!

We we're greeted by Simran, a man wearing a very nice hat. Overall the hotel is nice, cozy and especially Clean. The beds are most comfortable. The pool is great the kids enjoyed it. The bathroom is ceramic and glass shower door. Very good place to sleep. Book in advance for Great deal. Coffee no good.

The hotel was amazing the location it great cause it's near many restaurants and stores. The decor was beautiful. The room were great and very clean. The service was amazing and the receptionist Taled was very nice. They gave us food when we left for our travel. This is a great hotel I would come again.

This hotel is great! Beds are comfortable and rooms are fantastic. The location is amazing because you have so many different food options around you. Whether you want to sit down for a nice meal or you just want to grab something quick for takeout, there are plenty of places to choose from. The only complaint I have is that the gym is very small and if there are more than one maybe two people inside, it is very very very tight.

What a wonderful place to stay! We stayed here before and after a 3 week trip south. Both stays were upgraded to a suite. The beds were comfortable and the staff were lovely. Big shout out to Talele and Sophia on the front desk! I didn't catch his name, but the shuttle driver that picked us up at the airport ... cleaned 3 weeks of snow off our car. You can't beat that kind of service. We'll definitely be staying here again!

We had a pleasant stay at the hotel. The beds were cozy and comfortable to sleep. The rooms are pretty clean and the staffs were professional. Especially Rupesh was there throughout our stay making sure we were comfortable. He was very attentive and super friendly which made the stay much better. I’m pretty happy and enjoyed my stay there. I’d come back hundred percent to this hotel, when I visit Ottawa the next time.

We were big fans of the Sandman chain out west, so this is our first stay in Ottawa. The location is excellent. Close to the airport and complimentary parking. If dining suits your fancy, the attached Chop Steakhouse is excellent, and then their is Baton Rouge and the Mandarin right next door. There is also a slew of fast food places literally in the same complex. The room was beautiful and clean. Nice modern amenities and the bed quite comfortable. We will be back!

It was a fantastic experience! Absolutely loved the place and the room was very comfortable and quiet. We booked a standard room with one king bed and it was perfect for two. Loved the ambience and the design of the whole place. The manager, Rupesh is a great lad. He was very polite and made us feel at home. The location was perfect and fairly priced. Every staff who interacted with us were polite and welcoming, which is great for the hotel. We also had an amazing dining experience with quality food. Would totally recommend this place to my people. Keep up the great work!

I stayed at the Sandman in Oct 2022 and it was amazing! The rooms were perfectly laid out and very clean! I had to call back to the Sandman to get some assistance on March 30/23 and I spoke to Ahmed at the front desk. Ahmed was very helpful and he had a great sense of humour as well! Great friendly service that was fast and actually enjoyable. I would certainly stay at the Sandman again! The room was great! Living room was immediately as you walked in, then a hallway with a kitchenette then the bedroom at the back of the room. This was spectacular as we never heard any noise in the hallway at all! Very clean rooms.

Our room was super clean, nothing to add as I Mentioned, chop restaurant was super good, we ordered our food and they delivered it to us right away. the night was pretty quit and comfy. I will for sure consider coming back here!

Happy to share comments. The first room I went into was 18c and the floors were freezing. I went to dinner came back , room was warmer but my feet froze. I changed rooms to a higher floor. My feet were still cold as the floors were still ice cold. On top of that lighting was very dim and rugs in the room were not flat, there was areas where the room carpet was actually rolling in areas that created almost a hazard. Your rooms need a definite renovation and I would not recommend to anyone. I could not even get a morning muffin or coffee in your lobby. I had to go the restaurant. I did not book the reservation and would not in the future.
