As a new comer to the area with a 25 ft travel trailer in tow, I was on the hunt for a RV site. After checking out 2 previous sites and being told they were all filled up, I called Hither Hills and was hoping to get better results. The man in the office that took the call started out friendly but as our communication continued, he became very rued . I am not quite sure what caused this response but I know that my actions were completely respectful. Here is a heads up to anyone calling for information regarding this campsite, maybe this is the real reason this campsite has empty spots!

Wow... just got off the phone with the least enthusiast employee. I called to get information during office hours and I felt like I was bothering him. My question was simple: Is either the Wi-Fi or cellular coverage strong enough to work from the campground (Zoom, Teams, etc.)? His answer was β€œNO” with a very unmotivated breathing and then, he hangup on me before I could say anything else.

I was stranded in Ottawa with my partner and mom, we had no place to stay. Called the campsite as we were just trying to find something anywhere and mass calling places. The woman who answered the phone was extremely rude, we called around 11pm and she made a big deal about it. If you don't want people calling after a certain time maybe it should be written or you should remove your personal number. Also refused to help us in any way. If you're stranded and desperately need a place to stay you'd be better off pitching your tent on the side of the road.

Options of pull through or back in sites. Laundry on site is clean. Washrooms could use a little TLC, but everyone with an RV all have their own. The RV sites have cement pads for you table and or chairs. The swimming pool is a good size and is clean. There appears to be a group site with a large dog run available, or maybe that’s tent sites. Nice and close to a mall and 25 minutes from Ottawa museums. Yes mike is a little gruff on the phone, but quite the character in person! Glad we stopped and would definitely recommend this campground!

We get there to have a nice parking spot for our RV while were going in town and go at the Blues-Fest. We have been nicely welcome with a Bilangual Sevices in French and English. They have large and long super nice 30 Amp 3 services lot (my Fifthwheel is almost 35 ' and it fit perfectly) and even if it was close to the main road it was super quiet. The pool was well maintain and not overcrowded like some other place. The personel was really good with us for everything so we really want to recommand this Campground if your looking for a nice spot near ottawa !

Best place to stay when visiting Ottawa. Family owned and operated for over 50years! The park has changed with the times offering very nice full service sites with patio, grass, trees and a place to park my tow-behind. Adorable and very close to city and amenities like shopping and restaurants but still maintain a rural quiet place to rest and relax.

Called in at about 5:20pm to reserve a site if they had one available for a couple nights. We have an F250 and 38foot 5th wheel. Our call lasted 48 seconds where the conversation went like this: Campground: Yes [answered in a way that sounds like my calling was an inconvenience] Me: Hello, how are you this evening? Campground: Fine. Me: I am wondering if you have any sites available for a couple nights starting this evening? Campground: Well I guess. [Awkwaed silence] What are you in? Me: 38 foot 5th wheel pulled by an F250 Campground: I guess. Maybe. It depends, where are you at? Me: This side of Montreal. Little less than 2 hours from you. Campground: Well you're leaving it late eh? It gets dark you know. You're late. Me: [Flabbergasted] yes, we're arriving from PEI and didn't want to book until we knew when we might arrive given traffic through Montreal. Campground: Nope, that's too late for me. Click. He hangs up on me. No manners, no pleasantries. Kind of gruff, hung up on me and definitely seemed I was an inconvenience for calling.

If you just need a place to park your rv and want to visit ottawa it is good. But not for a 2 week holiday. Drive to downtown Ottawa is around 30 minutes

Absolutely a great RV campground near Ottawa! The owner is fantastic, the pool was very nice, the pull-thu's were huge, and all utilities worked as needed. The price was reasonable, so what else do you need? Definitely will stay here again on my next visit to Ottawa.

Mike Kyle and Joe run an amazing Park..... you could not ask for Kinder people and a better RV Park..... this is the best park to stay at in the Ottawa area and I have checked them all out and actually have stayed at some of the other ones

It's an OK place for an overnight stop. Bathroom is fairly clean. The showers cost $1 per 2 minutes which is not much .... but not appreciated when paying $55 per night. Pool is only open after 12:30 also not fun if you would like a morning swim. Pool is located directly beside the main road . About 20 minutes from downtown Ottawa in an industrial park area.

Hither Hills was a TERRIFIC place for us to camp last year, while working in Ottawa - we were there from June to park closing in October 2018. The location was perfect for us - close to our work and with most amenities within 10-15 minutes. The lots were big and easily accommodated our 45’ coach. Mike was GREAT ... always accommodating and helpful. The 50-amp power and services worked perfectly and anything that needed attention, was addressed quickly. Although not a lot to do at the park itself, we made great new friends and sincerely enjoyed the clean and peaceful setting. Wifi was new and worked quite well except during extreme heavy use periods. No question, this will be our β€˜home base’ anytime we need to be in Ottawa.

This park is conveniently located just south of Ottawa, making for easy access into the city. It is also big rig friendly, which is not always the case here in Ontario. The park has nice grounds, spacious sites, and is very quiet. We especially appreciated the concrete patio by our door. The laundry was well equipped and the dog run is always an appreciated feature. Family owned and operated. Thanks!

Very nice place. Great hosts. Close to the downtown core of Ottawa. Avoid sites G, H, very close to septic tank and too fragrant. Very good Wi-Fi and Over The Air TV reception.

I rolled in exhausted after hours of driving, pushed the bell sign as per the note, and got yelled at! He said, "who sent you, so I can wring their neck". Then he mocked and insulted me. MY RV is a tiny Boler so i needed 110 amp but they dont offer it. Showers are coin operated on top of my rediculous 68.00 a night!!! no firepits, rediculous. Toilet paper is not even 1 ply, translucent confetti paper. The site is just an overpriced parking lot. Steer away, travelers.

Very nice campground. Only difficulty was temporary as public roads in were in very poor shape, and that should improve with time.

I researched this campground and others in the Ottawa area. I booked this campground mainly for the proximity to Ottawa, the dog park (which is advertised on their webpage) and the reviews I read. Every bad review I read was about the management staff, not the facilities, so this is really a review about the campground so others will not be blindsided like I was. The facility and items advertised are not as they appear. It does have a pretty decent heated pool, the playground was smaller than what is in my backyard and consisted of broken slides which looks like they were found on the side of the road and an old tractor tire. It did have a soccer field but I couldn't tell if the volleyball area was communal or a part of someone's site. We stayed on a 30/50 amp big rig site which was advertised as *all* having a fire pit. We did not have one. In fact, only about 2/3rd of these sites have one. We noticed before we unhitched, and I went and questioned it. We were told to use the site behind us because it is never used. We bought wood from the campground and then went out for dinner. When we got home after the office hours and such it was closed, they had placed someone on that site (even though there were numerous other sites available) for the night. No fire for us that evening. WIFI is pretty much non-existent. We were placed between two different WIFI towers and couldn't get a signal. I stood beside each tower and couldn't get a signal. Only place you could find it was at the office or by the washrooms. Now the dog park. Oi....This was not a dog park, nor a dog run. This was a 15 x 10 rent-a-fence enclosed area, even the smallest of dogs couldn't run in this enclosure and get tired. My front porch is bigger than this enclosure, there is no way this is a dog park. And to get to the so called dog park you had to walk through other camp sites/dedicated tenting sites. There was no way to get to it otherwise. Never once did we see a nature trail, we saw lots of back roads that had construction equipment/debris on it, but no where that I would want to walk with my kids/dogs. There was no Rec Hall. Well the park map says it is there, but it is filled with construction tools, supplies and generally used for storage. There is no emergency phone. It too is marked on the map, but there is no phone there. There was posted office hours, but it would close periodically throughout the day. We went up twice and it was closed during the posted office hours. We didn't use the showers, but the bathrooms were decent. Typically campground bathrooms in my opinion. I usually just let a bad campground go, with the promise of never to return, but this campground is so grossly misrepresented, I couldn't let it go.
