Food are fresh and refill frequently. Staff are friendly and helpful. The resturant is well maintained and very clean. Highly recommend.

The Mandarin Restaurant is one of the best all-you-can-eat buffets in Ottawa. They have a large selection of food that includes: sushi, seafood, roast beef, peppered beef, shrimp, sweet & sour chicken balls, asian rice & noodle dishes, soups, salads and desserts. You can load up your plate and dig in over and over Definitely come to the Mandarin hungry. The food tastes good and the service is good as well. I have also heard that the Mandarin helps out the community and people in need. Making me feel good to support them. If you like my reviews, photos or videos to keep coming back again and again give a heaping thumbs up.

Amazing food, amazing service. The way that they’ve adjusted their menu due to covid is actually really nice as you can get smaller portions for a very reasonable price. They were very accommodating when I requested something not on the menu as well. Will definitely be returning.

Great authentic Chinese buffet! They have great COVID protocols, allowing customers to wear gloves while picking out food, bags to store your mask, and to throw away used gloves. The food were better than I expected, with a variety of selections. We went for a birthday dinner, and they gave us a surprise cake, took a picture of us, and printed it out for us in a magnet frame. They also gave us the calendars for next year! Very friendly and attentive staffs!

Absolutely loved our small plate experience today. A 4 page menu is given to you showing pictures of all the foods offered. Then you're given the order sheet to check off what dishes you want. Everything comes one or two dishes at a time, then more come, and everything is piping hot. We of course ordered too much, and came home with 4 take away containers, enough for our dinner tomorrow. This cost was equivalent to two seniors dinner, when it was a buffet. I am raving about our experience to everyone I know. Very covid friendly too. Thanks Mandarin🥰

Great new experience. Our server Eddy was awesome. They really put a big effort on the safety. Great new way to dine and I hope it stays parallel to the buffet cuz it was great. No food waste and we even got to spend less than usual I recommend for sure.

We went back for the first time since lockdowns were lifted. The food was very good and nicely presented. The great part was that we were able to take home our leftovers. We are going back again soon.

The last time I went to a buffet was before Covid. Mimi was our server. She was amazing! She was so friendly, gave us so many recommendations on the food and everything was so good! Lots of selections! I’ll come back!

Very impressed. The new concept is great. Very well organized, excellent service. Since you arrive, they offer you a bag for your mask, a towel for your hands, and they explain well the new concept and that you have to use your mask if you get up from your table. The food is very good, and it did not lose quality and reasonable price. Congratulations to the Mandarin team! And special congrats to Eddy, great customer service.

We went there for my sister’s birthday and the food was delicious. Mimi and Jenny were really lovely and the service was perfect. They gave her a cake and made a magnetic family picture as a souvenir. I really recommend this place.

We have been visiting this location on a regular basis. Huge selection of dilicious food (plenty of Asian or Western options), and everyone can definitely find something they like! Service was great as well. During our visit in August 2023, Trinh, Sandy, and Prabina were attentive to us and everyone else in the dining area. They took away dirty plates and served drinks at the right moment each time. Will definitely recommend this location to friends and family. I missed the crab legs, and I wish they will bring crab legs back one day!

Your one of the best restuarants i have been to where the food is exeptional, the service stunning and the coordinations of the whole experience is credited to a owner who cares about the customer and treat them as a person with abosolute care to there meal, i took my partner on our anniversary and she simple to say came out with a big smile over and over, you have out done yourselves and hope to dine there again soon.

Amazing first experience at Mandarin Hunt Club. I've been meaning to visit one of their locations for years. $37 entry is not cheap, but absolutely worth it for the exceptional service, food, and atmosphere. Servers are always around and happy to help with any concern or request you may have. Food is great, with some mishaps in warmth (one of the chickens were a little cold). Otherwise an amazing experience and we can't wait to come back.

Just returned from a fantastic lunch at Mandarin. Instead of buffet style, they provide small plates at reasonable prices. The service far exceeded our expectations, the food was fresh and even better than buffet. Our favourites were the sweet and sour pork, chicken wings and shanghai noodles, but honestly there wasn't a thing we didn't enjoy. There were only 6 tables in the room, which made us feel safe and allowed for great conversation. Service was prompt and the staff were incredibly attentive. Our family of 2 adults and 2 teenagers ate very well for $75 before tip. This was possibly even less than it would have cost for the buffet option. There were many items to choose from, and the menu contained pictures of each dish so you knew exactly what you would receive. The prices of each dish ranged from $2-$5. I'm so glad we decided to give Mandarin a try today. It's different than before, but well worth the visit. We'll be back!

Mandarin is very popular and always busy, but I don't understand why--this place is like the Denny's of the buffet world; I have been to far superior and cheaper ones. The service is speedy and friendly, but food is truely terrible. The buffet is a real crapshoot, but I managed sample nearly everything. The beef dishes are mostly chewy and tough, the chicken is either fatty and rubbery or deep-fried to the consistency of an old leather belt, and the seafood was bland and salty. The steamed or fried vegetables are squishy and bland. The best bet seems to be the salad bar and the and the spring rolls. The best meat dish was the Korean chicken, if you avoid the fatty bits. The bill was just shy of $80 for two people and two drinks. The hot hand towels smell musty and mouldy. I won't be back unless someone drags me in. Finishing your meal here is more about giving up than feeling satisfied.

Beautiful establishment, love the service, Always doing there best to make sure we are comfortable and amazing food experience. The customer service is super positive and everything about the place is amazing even the ceiling painted sky, really amazing atmosphere to add, they have really fishes, its like a mini aquarium as you wine and dine on this amazing 5 star experience. The tables are very well decorated and the communication is superb. I would leave a 10 star review if i could.

I miss their buffet a lot, but the system they have now with smaller dishes ordered to your table works quite well. The wait staff clearly put a lot of effort and the service is incredible.

We had a good time @ nepean location yesterday. It was for celebrating my son's birthday, it has became a family routine to have birthday parties at mandarin restaurant every year. Even though we could not sing a birthday song for him as usual(due to the new policy), my son was still so happy. He said Mandarin is the best restaurant in the world. lol.....I am surprised the new "small eats" does not increase the total bill and the quality of food remains the same as before. The manager Charles strictly monitors all staff to ensure social distance which made me and my family feel safe. I also want to mention the server Eddy who is so friendly, polite and interactive. Just want to say a big "Thank you" to all Nepean location staff to provide a wonderful birthday for my little one especially during this difficult time.

A new dining experience since they reopened after covid. We ate lunch as a family of 4; 2 teens 2 adults. Very comparable price to the buffet and we ate well! With new health regulations they are not a buffet but small order table service. Must wear masks in the restaurant and until you get a little paper bag to put your mask in to keep it away from the servers and the food. Each item is ordered on a paper order sheet and costs between $2-5. Portions were large enough to share but small enough for one person to eat if you really like that item. Similar in size to dim sum. Very attentive staff, quick service, the staff bring out the food in manageable amounts so it doesn't get cold before we got to it. Felt similar to dim sum or sushi all you can eat a la cart restaurants. We even were given some free items that the kitchen made in error for other tables. Best restaurant experience since the shut down for sure. Felt almost like a normal dining out experience except for the quiet atmosphere and lots of space between tables. (I like that better anyways) I want the Madarin to be there after the pandemic so we will definitely go back!

Celebrated a friends birthday and we went to Mandarin Hunt club. Variety and quality of food is amazing, ambiance is great, and service is exceptional. Tonight I was served by Mimi and Jenny and they were both helpful friendly and attentive .. highly recommend and you can see from my photos how amazing the food was..

We are coming here on a monthly basis. Great quality control on the dishes, everything tastes the same all the time, and that is very important for a Chinese restaurant. They have the sweetest green melon somehow, have no idea where they got that. Service is good like always! Nice experience!

I always liked the Mandarin as a buffet, but the small dishes are even better. I do wish however, they would work on getting food to the table hot. When we sit down, the servers bring a warm plate, which is cold by the time the order actually arrives. I once ordered steak and fries. The steak arrived and sat on the table for long enough for it to be cold by the time the fries arrived. Anyway, I',ll be back this week.

The service is excellent the choice of foods is in small servings and it was excellent the only mistake we made is we ordered the dishes all at once it would have been better to space the order apart

My experience at mandarin was really good. Jing the server was super nice, friendly and helpful, she definitely does a great job. There were lots of food choices to make and the ambience was really nice. It was pricy compared to other buffets I have been to in other cities but it was definitely worth it.

I love coming here with family and friends! The food is always delicious and the areas are always clean! I love their cocktails and mock tails! I’m pretty much full after 3 plates but they best all you can eat buffet out here in ottawa!

I love buffets and do my best to try them all, here at home and all around the world....I have to say that hands down, Mandarin is seriously an unbeatable value in their quality of food/price. They have so many dish choices, a sushi bar, a carving station, a salad bar, soup & bread station, and an insane selection of desserts. There's a variety fruits, all kinds of cakes, puddings and jello, fresh waffles and many flavors of ice cream to name a few... This time I visited on a Thurs evening... There were 5 different dishes of shrimps, fresh steamed mussels, cooked mussels...carving station had prime roast, grilled steak, chicken and pineapple.... Sushi bar had salmon, tuna, butter fish, cockle clam sashimi and tamago egg and 8 different kinds of fancy rolls..... Everything was fresh and always kept replenished by staff... Trinah was our server. Very friendly, and attentive. Water glasses were always full and dishes removed from our table literally the moment we were done with them. If you haven't already tried Mandarin, you absolutely have to. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. Whether you're a couple, family or a group celebrating an occasion, Mandarin has something for everyone!

Our first time dining in mandarin, we had a very good experience. The food was delicious, fresh and the service was 10/10. Mimi and Crhis were very kind with us explaining the dishes, and we were surprised that they speak a little bit of Spanish! They are so funny! I really recommend this place!

I had the pleasure of dining at this beautiful restaurant for a Saturday dinner buffet and was delighted by the diverse selection of seafood dishes on offer. Although the price was a bit high, the quality of the food was excellent and I found the flavors to be quite delicious. Additionally, I was impressed with the attentive service provided by the staff throughout my meal. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to visiting again in the future. 🙏🏻

Definitely great service! The place is beautiful and well structured for seating. The staff was friendly and polite. There was always a waitress adding more napkins, refilling my water and picking up my plate at the right moment. Overall, though, I was expecting a lot more selection of food for a lunch price tag of $20+. Most of the small cake desserts tasted bland. I would've liked more seafood & sushi options.

Everyone wanted something different for dinner tonight. Going through choices, we decided to come to Mandarin on Hunt Club for dinner. A good choice, since they have a big selection; from California rolls, salads, stir fries along with a wide selection of desserts. I will say the best was the California rolls and live station preparations. Most of the Chinese style preparations were just too sweet. Desserts were mediocre except the creme brule, bread pudding, almond cookies and coconut macaroons which were good.Service was excellent, almost felt pampered with the warm towel service. Thanks for an overall great experience!

January 2023 I quite enjoyed my recent visit here. The food was very good, as was the service. It was busy, so the buffet items were always being replenished. I was here for Chinese New Year on January 21, 2023 which is Year of the Rabbit. The Mandarin has a current promotion to celebrate this January 16 - February 28, 2023. The items at the buffet for this promotion were well marked. These were Dim Sum items, and egg tarts. The egg tarts are some of the best I have eaten. They served many types of Chinese food and soups, but also sushi, fries, chicken items, ice cream and toppings, and a large dessert selection. Something for everyone. You choose if you want to use chopsticks or cutlery when eating. Most mixed drinks are $7 which is cheap nowadays. Service was excellent, and we never had to look far for our server. She was always around. Taking dirty plates away or refilling your water glass was done frequently. If you pay cash, you get a 10% discount, seniors (probably 65 and over) also receive a 20% discount.

They serve buffets only on weekends. We visited this place on a weekday, so we had A la carte. Almost all the dishes we tried were good, except for a few. However, the waiters were placing the dishes in a hurry on the table, and there was a spillage of food many times.

We were there for lunch buffet. My wife is a vegetarian and I don’t think they have a lot of options for vegetarian. For non vegetarian it’s good place. We went there on Friday. I didn’t see crabs and sea food options are less. I think they will add those on Saturday and Sunday. I have got hair in egg omelette. The manager immediately responded and apologized for it. These little things happen. Other than that food is good but little but pricey.

I was not allowed to swim in the koi pond at this establishment. Disappointing. Food was decent.

First time ordering everything was great. Ordered today and one dish the batter wasn't cooked, couldn't eat it, was like paste. Don't believe we'll be ordering from them again, $100 order.

We ordered take out for our 63rd wedding anniversary for delivery. The order came at exactly 5:30 which we had asked for. The food was delicious with the exception of the spareribs which we very dry. We could not eat them. However we will certainly order again . Elaine

Nice choice of buffet everything was fresh and just kept being refilled. Good service with plates being cleared quickly. So much choice. Get there early or make a reservation as there are long line ups on the weekend.

Well after we knew about the reopening we were so excited to visit you again especially that we've always had wonderful experiences in your restaurant your buffet was always amazing. we read the reviews but we didn't get what we expected. Although the food was delicious but for sure this is not how to serve it we were a family of six and we ordered so many kinds of small (I must tell that they were very very small dishes) and we received two or three dishes for all of us every 15 minutes that was a torture we waited about 1h and a half to receive our order that's a very bad service. I don't blame the waiters of course they were super polite and did their best I think it's a managing problem and please please try to fix it. We love your restaurant and we hope you can manage to arrange the buffet back again.

Food is fresh and so freaking delicious. Everyone is SUPER nice and accommodating. The Lychee drink is good, the prime rib was amazing. There is a discount for seniors but my dinner is 38.99 before taxes. A little expensive but everything you could want.

I actually enjoyed the food. Was it refined dining? No...but it was comfort food for me. Loved the prime rib, shrimps and sushi. Really enjoyed the rest of the food. The wait service was really good. The waitress was very attentive, removing used dishes and refilling water. Definitely will go back.

The buffet food is good but I hope they could do better in term of quality. Various options: Soups, salads, bread, sushi, seafood, chicken, beef, pizza, vegetables, noodles, rice, dessert, fruits, ice cream, and more. Service is excellent and the staff are very nice. I would recommend that you to call ahead to book your table. The atmosphere is great specially for the kids, they loved the dessert & Ice Cream :)

The staff of the Mandarin Restaurant have the most wonderful friendly smiles, and the food is out of this world good and affordable.

The pickup option was actually good. I thought the portion will be too small but it wasn’t. I got the shrimp combo and it was a very good portion. I also got free tarts with my meal, which was an awesome move. I wish we can pick whatever combination we want though (like a by weight option) as with the predetermined combo, you usually get something that you don’t really want/like. It seems like if they add fries with some of their platters it will sell a lot quicker. For example, I usually get the shrimp basket from Captain Boil’s next to them because it comes with fries, but Mandrain’s torpedo shrimp platter doesn’t come with anything but the sauce which seems like it will not going to be enough of a meal. Hoping they will be able to open their buffet again soon as it was literally the best buffet restaurant in Ottawa

They kicked us out because my son who has autism and severe anxiety can not wear a mask I have asthma and can not wear a mask this was told to the staff at the door please do not support this business that refuses to accommodate people with disabilities.

Some of the best Chinese food I’ve had in Canada! They’ve done away with their buffet system and now deliver small plates of food to your table, and it’s honestly never tasted better. A must visit!

Celebrating our Anniversary

Mechaela, Prabina, Chris and Gillian were excellent! The service was great, no matter how busy it got, we were never forgotten! Food and atmosphere were amazing, definitely recommend! Best deserts too, loved the pecan pie.
