We recently came to this place as a first timer in early Nov 2021. We didn't have much expectation coming in and we were blown away. The staff was helpful in explaining to us what was good and the portion sizes was quite big. We ordered the meat taco salad and steak burrito bowl. They didn't disappoint. We felt the price we paid was worth the size and quality of the dishes we ordered!

So good. Everything ordered is amazing and the servings are a generous portion. Staff are also friendly and quick to serve. Good selection of deferent foods.

2023: Portions are still very generous, and the flavours are great. Counters are still not wiped between orders, so the prep table looks messy. It’s still definitely a great place for quick Mexican meal. 2019: Burritos are loaded, flavour is good, but staff weren't super friendly. It's a bit confusing because the sign outside says "John Juan", but the signs inside say "Burrito Gringo". They're very generous with the portions, and quick to get the food ready, but the staff need to be a little friendlier to make you feel welcomed, and they should always make sure the counter is wiped before preparing the food. The burritos are good though so try them out if you're in the area.

First off, the food here has always been excellent. I have been coming for about 8 years at least once a month or more. Usually everything is fine, and the two regulars who make my food are awesome. Today I got the cashier, who made my burrito, then put it on the grill and puttered around for 4 minutes while it burned. It wasn't that busy. One uber pickup (that was ready to go) and two people behind me who were being served by the regular staff. When it finally came off the grill it was crispy and the leaked bits were singed. No worries, they will make another I thought. Nope, she ordered the other person to get a new wrap and unceremoniously shredded the burnt wrap and dumped/squeezed out the seared contents including blackened guacamole and seared chipolte sauce, along with remnants of the wrap husk. I asked for a new one and she snapped at me that she could add more to this one. I said I would rather not have it and began to leave. She said something to the effect of 'your choice' and was angry I was not accepting what looked like a bag of burnt dog feces haphazardly spread on a fresh tortilla shell. Maybe they were having a bad day, but I was hungry and not in the mood to cave to poor service. I will miss the food, but I will not be back. Sadly, A former customer

Ordered the Asada Steak regular burrito, chips, black bean dip and chipotle mayo. John Juan Buttito did not disappoint when it comes to the amount of steak added. Some places use rice as a filler to avoid adding more meat, NOT John Juan. So much meat, so good! Huge!

Our staff at the Hospital have really enjoyed ordering food from this restaurant in the past and have had great service. However on New Years Eve night we ordered a $200+ order and all 5 of our Taco bowls came without the tortilla bowl. There was no phone call to let us know that the restaurant ran out of the tortilla bowls. I phoned the restaurant and spoke with a lady that told me that the restaurant is very busy and ran out of the bowls. I understand that we are going through hard times right now and being New Years it is probably one of the busiest nights of the year, but a simple phone call would have been appreciated. We were offered no compensation and no notice that our order was missing a key part of the order. When I spoke with the lady she ended up hanging up the phone on me. We are not impressed with the lack of service that was provided to us tonight and will not be ordering from this restaurant again.

This is one of the most unhygienic places where one wishes to eat. The owner, the bald guy, has no limit in cross-contamination. His hand/fingers go from back-shop activity into your food without shame. I have no idea why it is known for its little and high price sandwiches while disregarding so much for the customers’ health.

Came for a late night light snack. Got the best brotherly burrito service ever. Dude hit me with a monster mix. And before I knew it, I was leaving the store feeling like an absolute beast, ready to devour what looks like a 3 course meal. No regrets. Place is a delicious hidden gem.

Service was pretty good and fast, food is pretty good and affordable for the amount. Drinks are expensive compared to other burrito spots though.

In general, I like this restaurant, and I would like to give a better review. However, I've had a few bad experiences when I have ordered from here for delivery. My main frustration is that for the second time, I paid for a side of guacamole that I did not receive. For me personally, guac is a huge requirement. So when I pay extra for it and don't receive it, it really irritates me. Since this happened twice, I don't think I will be ordering from here for delivery again.

Hold on.. one sec… I’ll be right with you.. …. Ok I’m good now. Sorry, I was just replaying that glorious burrito experience in my head. That thing was the Everest of burritos! Hard to believe all those ingredients were held perfectly by a nice soft tortilla that stayed together right to the end! Ok, I mean, there was some juice overflow but that’s part of the burrito experience! One of the greatest burrito bowl I have ever had. I strongly recommend to everyone must have to try it once

We ordered the taco station for 30 people for my husband's birthday. Everyone raved about the food. JohnJuan came and set everything up, and at the end, came and picked everything up. It could not have been easier, or yummier. Lots of wonderful options to please everybody, and such a delight to no be cooking all the day. Reasonably priced and wonderful quality. Will certainly be using again!

Much like Rami's review from a month ago I also got slightly overcharged with a missing Tortilla for my Burrito Bowl that I noticed when I got home. If this is going to happen, at least offer people compensation. Anyway, it also took quite a few minutes to get to me while awkwardly standing at the front of the line with no other customers in the store. On a last note, I feel pretty bad for the new employees there as they were not patiently explained to when they were missing something on a SkipTheDishes order; nothing like getting yelled at by a manager whose nose is sticking out from a mask. I'll stick to the Mucho Burrito nearby.

Came here to for the first time today a friend recommended the steak and Holly steak was it good. I got the large and it was stuffed with fresh ingredients. Packed. Clean place, quick service even though I could tell they were really busy with online orders and quality made. I'll be back

The sign outside is confusing but the food inside was amazing. A messy presentation yes, but bold flavors & a huge portion. I ate this in my car, so the picture isn't great.

Ordered a cheeseburger and fries. Was charged for a cheeseburger, fries, and a drink (which I never ordered ). Burger tasted awful and had to return(for a refund) as it was inedible. Service wasn't rude, but certainly wasn't friendly. Atnosphere inside is shabby and not welcoming. I will avoid going forward as this experience left a lot to be desired

This was my first visit, the line was really short, and the service was fast. I got the burrito bowl, they give you a lot, and a free tortilla as well. They have a great selection of drinks as well! I will definitely come back and try the nachos next time! I would love for them to have brown rice, one day as well :-)

Really amazing mexican food. It had been a while since I had have good mexican food and my last few iterations had been a hit or a miss but this place has great taste. Meat was perfectly cooked. Had a burrito bowl and my friend had tacos 🌮. Tacos size was quite big and fulfilling. They have the right sauces and salsa aswell.

I am from Toronto and I was craving Mexican food. We tried their burrito and tacos and it was genuinely the best burrito I have ever had in my life! It was amazing!! Everything was fresh, flavourful and staff were friendly. They also played great music!

Anytime I'm craving something, this is my Go-To. I love their burrito bowl with everything I can get in it. I'm not a chip or dough fan, so the bowl is perfect option! 🤤

Awesome burrito bowls! Very tasty 👌🏽 I just wish the manager/owner can lead by example and wear his mask properly. Be the guy who cares about food service hygiene!

I feel like I can make nicer tacos at home… not worth the price, and the customer service isn’t very welcoming

I’m currently Visiting from Edmonton Alberta, my wife and I are just finding the top rated restaurants and stumbled upon this place. They have halal options. Smelled nice as soon as we walked in, asked the cook what his fav item was. He said the cheeseburger, gotta say, top 3 cheeseburger I’ve had in my life. Was absolutely delicious and the portions are huge with fries. Come hungry. Super juicy and flavourful. Wife the got the taco salad, so damn good as well. She got it with halal chicken and I had a few bites, so many flavours and it was bomb. Got it in the hard shell taco bowl and it’s been fun watching her break it and eat the salad with it. Down side I found it pretty expensive, but the portions make up for it. And quality.

I'm a regular on doordash...I placed an order tonight and forgot to select any toppings on the nachos except chicken and cheese and the restaurant called me to see what else I would like - entirely saved the order. A++ experience and will keep coming back for the awesome food/service. Thanks guys!!

I've been twice now with my fiance. First time we tried the burgers and they were unbelievably good we dreamed of them for days. Cane back today to try the burritos and WOW that's got to be the best burritos we have ever had. Cookies are amazing too!!! Everything is so fresh!!! I can't say enough!! We will be back!!

Food is really good but seriously reconsider your packaging, liquids do not go well with thin cardboard.
