I ordered the Chef's specialty Basil Noodle with shrimp. My first taste was sodium..my last taste was basil. Seeing as it is the name of the restaurant, you would think they would actually use fresh basil. On my plate, there was none. Not entirely certain if pasta was freshly cooked. Bean sprouts were not as fresh as they should have been, see early in the day. Very slight trace of egg. Good portion of shrimp. When I asked if pasta was cooked freshly today, I was told yes. a lady then brought the packaging from the kitchen for me to see, which was slightly odd and uncomfortable. Overall impression, it's OK. Once plate cleared away, there was a lengthy wait for my bill. It is not busy, at all. #localguide

A couple of Saturdays ago, we ordered lunch for eight hard working people who were starving. Appetizer of A9 - wontons - those little pockets of fried flavour goodness with thai dipping sauce. We followed that up with 3 orders of V13 - Vegetarian Spicy Noodle with soy bits (they even made one extra spicy as we requested); 2 order of X8 - Spicy noodle with chicken; one X7 - Grilled Salmon; one order of V18 - NEUA TOD KROB (served with rice); and X12 - PAD TOA LUUN TAO (served with rice). The order was ready for pickup in 25 minutes. All was hot, delicious, fresh ingredients and plentiful. All the bellies were full and even a few leftovers. Though we did takeout, there is a patio in front andplenty of free parking. Thank you for the most excellent lunc T-Basil - we'll be baaaaaaack. :-)

I've only eaten here once for takeout. My workplace ordered lunch from here on a Saturday. The general consensus from the staff was that the food smelled and tasted odd - aside from me none of the staff finished their meals and some wouldn't even take more than one bite. My meal was alright but definitely had an odd taste to it and I found the sauce to be a bit more of a liquid consistency than I would like. Thankfully my meal did not upset my stomach - but the whole experience was enough for me to decide not to eat here again.

We ordered off the vegetarian menu and the food was delicious. Fresh and flavourful. Friendly staff. Traditional interior. Will be back!

This is hands down my favorite Thai restaurant in the Ottawa area. They are consistently delicious and their ingredients are fresh. Unlike a lot of places, they actually include rice with their curries, they bring you water without you having to ask. I don't live in Orleans, but this is where I come when I want Thai.

Loved it here. Enjoyed our food very much and would for sure come here again to enjoy another serving of crispy noodles along with trying something new. Service was quick and the atmosphere was enjoyable. I was also a fan of the Sake which was reasonably priced.

This is by far the best Bun Bo Hue in the city. We order almost weekly and the food is consistently amazing! The staff and owners are so welcoming and friendly.

Hubby & I tried T Basil last night. Excellent food & Great service. He had the deluxe basil pad tai with chicken & shrimp. I had the vegetarian mock chicken& vegetable pad tai in peanut sauce. We will be repeat customers.😁😋

Do not recommend T Basil. All of the Chicken Pad Thai noodles were stuck together, and there was minimal sauce, no bean sprouts, and lacked a lot of flavour, the only flavour I tasted was fish. I couldn't eat more than a couple bites. The lunch deal did not come with the wonton soup as it states it does and when I called, they told me they dont do the wonton soup, they give a spring roll. All I can say is yikes...

Ordered Tom Yum soup (only had Tofu, Mushrooms and Chicken). Wished it had noodles, bean sprouts and some shredded vegetables. Broth was good. Also, ordered Pad Thai which came in a small quantity. Not the best tasting in Orleans.

Beware of food poisoning. Not my first time at a Thai/Viet restaurant but oh boy I had a bad experience here last Saturday. Service was generally okay, I sat and had my soup, I started feeling cramps in my stomach and was weak shortly after I left there. I had a pho soup with some sea food in it. I suspect the soup/seafood was not properly cooked. I vomited 5 times until all the food left my body, I'm glad I did not suffer diarrhoea. Beware of food poisoning here and what you order.

The chicken pad Thai noodles were all stuck together, there was barely any sauce and the flavour was incredibly bland. The portion was also much smaller than other restaurants. I will not eat here again and would not recommend it.

Very plain restaurant, definitely not a fine dining experience. Table service left a lot to be desired (plate served half hanging off the edge of the table, or just handed directly to us to put down on the table ourselves. Food (chicken pad thai and spicy noodles with beef) was borderline passable; have definitely had way better at this price elsewhere. Portions were small. But the appetizer spring rolls were good, at least. Side note: don't have the Sake; worst sake I've ever had - swill.

Picked up take out dinner for 4 from T'Basil which has been a preferred location for weekday lunches on occasion with my daughter for a long time. Tonight was a celebration dinner with friends. We ordered & picked up the meals & returned home. The food was nice and hot. Guest 1 selected the V7 Veg w tofu & crispy noodle + V2 veg rolls; 2nd guest selected the C2 Panang curry with shrimp and V2 Veg rolls. Both of these meals looked good and smelled great although I noticed the C2 guest left pretty much all of her rice & sauce. Hubby & I both ordered the X2 Pad Thai. I ordered mine with only shrimp and he ordered his with shrimp and chicken. That was the first problem. When I was placing that part of the order I had to repeat that it was "one X2 with shrimp and one X2 with chicken & shrimp" a couple of times. What we got was anything but that. Yes, it was Pad Thai but it had mystery meat (sorry I'm not really sure whether it was beef or pork or both), chicken, shrimp, and tofu. That was a bit disappointing for me as I'm strictly a shrimp person and my husband is not a fan of tofu and then asked me what the mystery meat was. Our A1 spring rolls were excellent with a nice crispy golden wrap and hot tasty stuffing so that was a promising start however the rest of the meal not quite so pleasing. There was what appeared to be crumbled or finely chopped peanuts on top and a few bean sprouts but the overall dishes, aside from having the wrong toppings, merited a better flavour/taste as it was quite bland, plus a bit of chopped cilantro for colour & fresh flavour was sorely missing. I wasn't looking for hot/spicy but some flavour that was a bit more distinctive would have made it better. I would also recommend the lime wedges be sent in a separate bag as they were also hot to the touch. Our V7 crispy noodle guest enjoyed her meal and her V2 rolls and had no comment except she was satisfied with her meal. As we had expectations for good food we were disappointed in the quality of the X2 and more so with the error of the pad thai topping of the mixed meat/shrimp product instead of what we ordered. I truly enjoyed my last lunch take out from T'Basil of delicious won ton soup and fresh roll with shrimp, and may just stick to lunch from them for now.

Obviously I ordered cause the place I usually would was an hour and a half wait. Should have waited cause the pad Thai was not good at all and portions weee tiny. Tasted and looked like Kraft dinner with ketchup and the noodles were all stuck together. The spring roll was odd cause the rice paper was thick. Sort of like eating a deep fried won ton wrapped spring roll. The mango salad wasn’t that bad but the basil was wilted and turning brownish. Would not recommend this place at all. Might as well eat at Thai express and save 65$.

This is the best curry of my life. We got the two vegetarian curries. And I...was blown away. I had to sit after each bite, contemplating my life, that it took me this long to eat here. In sum, eat here.

Hands down some of the best dishes in Orleans. I had the G8 i think it was. (Chicken and Beef dish) You must try this dish. The beef is so tender and delicious. The Chicken is Perfect. I will be coming here way more often.

The patio was wonderful with our two dogs. The servers, were polite and very friendly. Even came out to pet the dogs after our meal. The food was incredible in taste, presentation and portion size. Many families were patrons at this establishment. With more simple Thai food available to those with picky eaters. The chicken pad Thai is a must try. I will definitely bring friends and family again to this establishment.

I regularly order from T'Basil and frequently get the meal size Tom Yum as take out. It has the perfect heat level and a rich broth that makes Thai Express' version taste like water. The pho and curry dishes are also great, as are the spring and summer rolls (I like the vegetarian ones). I do suggest you avoid the Phad Thai here, it is lackluster, but everything else shines.

Shout out to T’Basil for an exceptional vegetarian meal. The papaya salad and mock chicken satay were out of this world, the service was friendly, and the price was reasonable. Our first time there and we’ll definitely be going back.
