Excellent service. Generous and luxurious portions. The menu is confusing, however, every dish we ordered was good. They lose a star because the sauces are not good. Their homemade ketchup is a complete miss and the fish n chips sauce is also a miss. If you love bacon, this IS the place to come. It is spacious with high ceilings. Family friendly. #localguide

Visited Occo kitchen with my family, we tried their tacos, Donair, blueberry BBQ burger and chicken fingers. Everything tasted delicious, especially the vegetables in the taco. I could feel the freshness of veggies in each bite. My nephew loved their chicken fingers which was a kid’s meal. The staff were friendly and make sure our tables and seats were sanitized and I loved the ambiance. Will definitely visit again!

The food and service was great. I had the cauliflower bites and a fish taco and tried the cod cakes.

I am so happy the pork belly tacos are back! Fantastic restaurant which has been beautifully renovated. We went for dinner, and had the new Birria tacos, and pork belly tacos. The passion fruit orbs in the salad were unexpected in the best way! I ordered a spicy margarita, which was strong but yummy. Service was fantastic, we will be back.

Heard great things about this place so we were looking forward to trying it out. Great ambiance when you walk in, place is very big. Staff is nice but service is extremely slow. Waited about 10-15 before the waitress came to see us after being seated. Ordered cauliflower wings and calamari to start. Cauliflower wings were good, calamari was soggy and flavourless. You could tell it’s out the freezer. For our mains we had a BLT with fries, blueberry Brie burger and the mushroom Gruyère burger. Burgers and BLT were very dry and the homemade ketchup is very sweet, not a great addition. The fries were cold and looked stale. Felt they were left out too long and then fried again. Not good at all. Overall this place was a total disappointment, wouldn’t recommend.

Second experience at this location, and it was a pleasureable one. I did need to muscle through the fact they're renovating and focus on the food. Best seafood chowder I've had outside of PEI and New Brunswick! The chef is from Newfoundland. Positive remarks from all present for their plates, including the house potroast. Great food at a good price = highly recommended.

Very nice place for a quiet romantic dinner. The burger was absolutely delicious, you can taste how fresh everything was.

Upon sitting down the waitress never told us their name, so we couldn't ask for assistance. The ketchup for our fries was sweet and odd to taste, but when asked what it was, the server responded "it had tomatoes and sugar," without any explanation of what kind of sauce it was (it was grossly sugary). After receiving the bill, we had to wait almost 40 minutes, without any instruction for where to pay while waiting for the server to return. Very passive aggressive experience. No effort to build relationship, clarity, or rapport, especially in a low rush lunch service. We thought we did something wrong by walking into the store. Paying a 50$ bill for that level of miscommunication was unnecessary. Food looked good and well thought out. Not a fun experience. Won't be returning. This is an awesome restaurant to enjoy food. Forget frozen fried items in chains n Franchise. Far better than Moxies.Great food and unique choices. Food was okay. Seafood chowder wasn't the best I've had and didn't have much flavour. Fish taco was okay. My friend had the Blueberry Brie Burger. She said there wasn't any taste of blueberry on it. Server was good, but the person who seated us was rude and didn't smile. Not a lot of booths for seating. Washrooms were very clean. Lots of free parking available.

Honestly, I thought Occo was “Meh” at first. But this time, I ordered the full Cobb salad and that bad boy did not disappoint. We’re talking greens, grilled chicken, candied bacon, hard boiled eggs, boursin cheese, and even a generous portion of avocado. Mix that all together you get one of the best salads in my opinion.

Used to eat here 5+ times a month because it was so consistent then all of a sudden they changed their fish taco sizes this summer. Tried a few times and the quality just was not the same. Stopped eating here due to inconsistency and tried it again after 4/5 months and the fish was burnt. Why would you even serve it Iike this?

Brought a friend from out of town here and we loved it! Food and service was amazing. Katie, our server great and the person that brought over our food was awesome too. The wrong side dish came but she let us have both which is always nice :) Would defs come here again

Never had such a positive food experience. Everything was an explosion of flavor. It was fresh well presented. The caring staff was extremely attentive. Overall an amazing experience. I would have liked to see the bar type kitchen in use it was sad to see it kind of casted off. I highly recommend making a reservation or coming early for dinner. GO! ENJOY YOUR FOOD...

Enjoyed the candied bacon cheeseburger with fries. Had cauliflower wings to start as an appetizer. Both the cauliflower wings and the candied bacon cheeseburger were absolutely outstanding. I would highly recommend both, and would give the candied bacon cheeseburger one of the highest ratings possible for a burger in Ottawa. It's truly special. Service at this restaurant is great and the food matches. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a quality and unique place to enjoy a meal.

Good restaurant, would rate 3.5 starts if I could. Was a good experience but wasn't blown away by anything . My roommate and her friend eat here I and was expecting good things. The interior and atmosphere were a bit underwhelming with some of the decorations falling down and being held on by duct tape but overall a good atmosphere. You go for the food so I can look past this. Dinner and pop for myself and my wife was $60 which wasn't horrible. The food was tasty and good, but again nothing spectacular. As a couple with dietary restrictions menu items are labelled as vegan but the cauliflower wings (which weren't marked as vegan but usually are vegan at every other restaurant) had dairy in the sauce and breading but wasn't clearly indicated in the menu. I should've asked but again it goes against the norms for most restaurants in the city because that's usually marked. This then led to needing to confirm the cauliflower tacos were dairy free but they ended up being so. Again i probably could have confirmed but at the same point it could be communicated better. The dairy probably makes the cauliflower taste amazing though, I miss cheese :( And our server was responsive to our needs but there weren't many customers in the store and it seemed like she was talking with her coworkers and we didn't feel checked on like we usually are at other restaurants. So atmosphere, service, and food, not bad but nothing spectacular. I don't think I had over the top expectations for the restaurant but just left feeling underwhelmed but not disappointed. I might go back again but it's not going to be high up on the list of must return to restaurants. Solid 3.5/5 Also the in house ketchup is watery, please just use normal ketchup or give the option when we order.

My husband and I had the best Caesar salad ever! They marinate their bacon in brown sugar and slow cook it. Was so amazing. Also, the fish taco and shrimp taco never disappoints.

The portobello tempura mushroom taco is SO bomb! Fish taco is equally as good. Seafood chowder shared with hubby was amazing and seasoned perfectly with tons of seafood. I love their updated menu and how they have so many vegetarian offerings. There is literally something for everyone on the menu. Their taco offerings are pretty appealing too! Chicken shawarma taco....southern fried tofu taco and tuna poke taco to name a few. YUM! Service was friendly and quick. Only downside was being seated by the washrooms, where it's pretty high traffic as well. With two kids it worked out though and we had easy access for diaper changes and hand washing. We have actually visited this restaurant numerous times and never had the chance to dine on the other (lesser traffic side, in my opinion) throughout our visits. Maybe one day? lol. I'll definitely be back for some more tacos and chowder.

Good experience, love the food, taste exquisite, great experience, presentation is good and the atmosphere/cleanliness are awesome. Ordered Tacos taste good but the dish that comes with is bit small so tacos falling off all over the table...lol.. but otherwise thumbs up...

Service was somewhat slow due to what appeared as short staff. It did add a bit of time when it came to service but I understand this time is not easy in the service business. However, our server was excellent & food was pretty timely after ordering. Had this Burger which had had caramelized onions, mushrooms & some cheese on it. Burger had a nice bite to it & was thicker, maybe a slight bit dry but was good overall. Also enjoyed the seasoned fries, chipotle mayo & gravy.

Fantastic meal! Had a candied bacon cheeseburger that was absolutely delicious (AAA chuck made a massive difference!). My friend had the crispy chicken sandwich that was equally delicious. Great fries and a great beer rounded it out. Very reasonable prices and very friendly service. Highly recommend.

We had a great dinner served by a friendly and attentive waitress. The tacos were very good and our daughter enjoyed her Mac 'n cheese. Occo also has a great selection of microbrews. Will be back again.

My wife, other friends, and I attended this restaurant for dinner tonight. To say that I wasn't impressed would be a bit of an understatement. Our server was a nice young lady but there were a couple of mix ups and reminders needed for drinks and condiments. Service was good but not outstanding or superior. The restaurant was crowded and she had a few more tables to serve other than ours. Drink orders were taken and an extra beverage was delivered to the table. We were puzzled and she then realized the extra beverage left at our table was meant for another table. Large glasses of water would be really nice instead of the very small glasses and cold bottles they provide to each table. As noted, it was quite busy and therefore quite loud and noisy. Carrying on a conversation was difficult. Our meal orders were taken and it took quite a long time for our food to be brought to the table. My burger, although tasty, was cold and the fries were limp, soggy and lukewarm. I was so hungry I dared not complain as I don't know how long it would have taken for a replacement meal to be brought to the table. Everyone else in our party offered the same observations that their food was lukewarm at best. The homemade ketchup was WAY too sweet. Not impressed with it at all. Our bill was almost $80 with no alcoholic beverages and an 18% gratuity. In my humble opinion, I don't feel I got my money's worth for this dining experience. My wife has eaten at Occo on a few other occasions and she wasn't impressed during any of her previous visits either. The reason we ate here is because one of the other couples raved about Occo and wanted to return. Based on my overall experience and impressions with this restaurant, and my wife's prior negative experiences, I don't think we'll return. People will say you should go back and give them another chance but I disagree. Again, and this is my opinion only, I think I would have gotten better value for my money if I'd just lit four $20 bills on fire and walked away.

We came in as a part of our friends wedding reception, so a rather large group you could say. The staff served us quickly and kindly. Food was delicious and our server was accommodating to our allergies. I was excited to see their Newfie offerings and just as excited they were so delicious

We attended the Orleans location on August 27th. We were a table of 7. It was about 25 minutes before anyone came over to take a drink order. We ordered our meals at the same time. From the time we ordered until food was delivered was probably another 30 minutes. There was no quality check, and the waitress was far from friendly. About 40 min or so after we left the restaurant, 3 out of 7 started to feel really sick. The 3 that felt sick ate the same thing. As soon as we got home I immediately emailed the owner Caroline to let her know. This email still went without reply. Not even an apology. The tab was almost $200.00 and 3 of us didn't enjoy the 2 days following our visit there. I will absolutely not be back nor would I recommend it to anyone. I waited to post a review, as I expected some communication with the owner, but clearly I was wrong.

I love Occo so much. The food and service is amazing. Everyone is always so impressed when I bring them here. I also love their marketplace. Caroline was amazing and so helpful. She helped me put together a gift basket for someone. It was such an easy and great experience. I highly recommend!

We went on Saturday. The outdoor patio was open. The staff was so kind and considerate and patient with us...even in the heat. They even brought us over their umbrella to protect our toddler from the sun. Could not have asked for nicer reception. The food was delicious. If you go, tip them generously please! I know I did because they haven't worked in a few months!

I had fish n chips. The food was delicious however the host and waitress were not. She must have asked 4 to 5 times if everything was ok. I only asked for more water later and she never brought water.

Visited with my brother, sister in law, and niece. The service was fantastic, attentive, quick and friendly. I had the Candied Bacon Cheeseburger, with fries. The burger was very good, and the fries were stellar! The meal was very good! The restaurant was very clean and tidy, would definitely come again.

Love the vibe here, every item on the menu has an interesting twist of different flavours. Very fresh and creative ideas from the kitchen! The staff are all excellent. The BEST whiskey sour in Orleans! We had many drinks and I appreciated that our server Katie asked us if we were driving. It shows that they care about us and the community. Will for sure be back!
