This is my favourite and a public beach in Britannia area, Ottawa. This park with beach is an attractive place for families and sunseekers. One of the best spot to see sunset in ottawa region. This is also great for morning walks and taking pets for walk. This is one of the places in ottawa where people come to sunbathe and take a dip in water during summer. The park has barbeque pits and we are also allowed to bring out own barbeque setup if required. The beach is filled with volleyball courts during Summers with lots of people. I have also seen several people paraboarding and fishing. The beach has small burger shop and also the famous ice cream shop "Beachcorners"(5 mins walk from beach) which is a must have in summers. The beach has large free parking area. This beach is also easy to commute with bicycle as its side of the Trans Canada Trail.

Like another reviewer posted, you may find trouble finding a parking spot during peak times. Expect the possibility on a nice warm and sunny day. Otherwise it’s really fun here. Nice sand to lay on and the water to a certain point is shallow but be cautious because it can drop off suddenly. 👍😎

Very nice place for an evening walk. It’s good place to hangout too. The evening views are amazing. Sunset is incredible with all the Colors. Summer time it’s best to hang out and read a book or anything. There is a path way for walks and cycling as well.

Great spot to hang out on a sunny day to tan on the beach, splash in the water, play volleyball, etc. Great for both adults and children. Lots of grills available for barbecuing. Visit at night to see some beautiful sunsets.

A lovely beach to spend time with your loved ones. Best time will be during sunset.

In the winter, everything is frozen which is good for outdoor winter activities like skiing or running. The white landscaping is also beautiful for photos. I will be updating once I visit it during the summer. Updated: beautiful during summer too. However, Parking is a bit difficult here during beach season.

It’s a wonderful beach that everyone should visit at some point, although there are some people who leave their garbage everywhere. I would just say that if you can find a good spot it’ll always be a good time! Food there isn’t bad either.

Beach is big but the sand closer to the water isn't that soft. We didn't go swimming but looks like there is a shallow and deep end. The view is beautiful. There are rocks and a small beach where we sat and watched the sunset. We are planning to go back.

Probably one of the more better beaches for sunsets as many also say, I also live by pretty close so I usually try and get some kind of sunset photo with people in frame

Britannia Beach 🏝️ have some beautiful sunsets 🌅 around 8 it any amazing places to spend with your family and a place to throw some good events y’all should visit it when you can I don’t know how it looks in winter but definitely in summer I recommend you to check it out ✅✅✅✅✅ by the way i love them sunsets

Love Britannia Beach 💗 Lot of space, you can decide to spend time on the sand, plenty of space on the grass as well. There are also picnic tables, a casse-croute if you would like something to snack on. I can sit there for hours just admiring the beautiful water. Very pretty area. Accessible via the bike path.

What's not to love??!!??!! This place is bliss and all of the specially curated sections cater to all different kinds of folks and activities - beach/swimming and all that fun under the sun kinda stuff, conservation/protected marsh area (bird watching 😍) fishing off the rocks, picnic and family fun area, off leash dog park section, trails to run/walk/bike, gorgeous trees and landscaping overall, etc I was reminded of how amazing this spot is when I took my doggo there for a play. The leaves are all sorts of beautiful colours and the air was crisp. If you haven't had a chance to check out this area, then I highly recommend that you do... And soon before you miss the fall foliage in all its glory!!

Nice beach lots of activities to do and BBQs usually take place here. They have events here like Afro fest. the water is pretty shallow, there was a no swimming warning due to bacteria in the water but some people swam at their own risk. The restaurant on the beach is a nice touch to get those refreshing drinks and eatery.

This place is beautiful, always full of people having fun and enjoying the day and it’s just such a nice place to go to relax. The area is great for walks, picnics and pretty much anything really it’s just so chill. I try to go here once almost everyday and it’s so worth it !

The only downside of this beach is to find a parking in summer time

One of my favourite spots in Ottawa! Beautiful beach with a walking/biking trail where you can also bring your beloved dogs. I prefer to go there when it's not so busy because I like how peaceful it is then.

It's a lovely beach. Well kept grounds. The swimming area (in the water) should be 'raked' periodically to clean it up a bit.

Nice beach with a lot of space. It has a really cute coffee/ice cream shop near by which is a plus.

Nice place for water procedures :) The water is very dark, so it’s hard to dive, you can’t see anything - at least near the beach... Don't know how the water is in great depth. But very cool place to walk , to swim and make bbq in the park.

Love this beach a lot. Great atmosphere. The sunsets here in the evenings are spectacular to view. Has BBQ areas, benches to sit on. Park for kids to play at. Great clean sandy beach.

Crowded place , sometimes no parking available

Britannia Beach is a beautiful place to spend a day and enjoy a nice walk. The beach itself is clean and well-maintained, with plenty of room to spread out and relax. The surrounding area offers a number of walking trails with breathtaking views of the water and the surrounding landscape. The atmosphere is peaceful and serene, making it a great place to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Windsurfer Beach is a lovely small Cove away from the general public swimmers. Great sunrise and sunset photos to be taken.

Nice end clean place. It would be great to have a rescue guard and open trash bins (there were closed at the beach, but opened in park)

Sand is not the best and hard to find a parking other than that is a good spot to have a solo moment or with kids

Mesmerizing place to watch the sun set in peace with a loved one after a hard day of work. Short walk from the parking. Really beautiful over all. I have seen a few ppl fish as well on the rocks.
