Terrible experience! I’m not a person to easily share negative reviews, but this one is necessary. The dentist took a wrong decision to put a short crown on my tooth which kept coming out (happened twice) so when I asked them to fix it permanently, they kept coming up with ways to charge me. First by saying crown costs have increased, secondly by saying the lengthening procedure would cost $500. Their office manager gave her word I won’t have to pay for something that isn’t my fault and booked my appointments. Then the receptionist kept calling me closer to the day of my appointment to find ways to reschedule appointments and persuade to pay. Very bad service overall.

I regret to let Dr. Shah service my family after Dr. Lau left. Dr, Shah always tries to do more unnecessary fillings for my husband and me. One of my tooth still feel pain after 4 months of filling. It caused all my right side teeth can't bite!

In my recent appointment for dental cleaning, I had my annual check up by a new dentist (Dr. Akanksha Gupta) as Dr Lau was unavailable. Dr. Gupta was a bit aggressive, claiming that I had developed 3 cavities that needed to be fixed. At my follow-up, it occurred to me that the filling procedure may actually be optional. The entire procedure took less than 30 mins. However, each filling still cost over $200! The dental hygienists there are quite good on the other hand.

0 stars if I could. It's as if the front desk does not even pay attention to their jobs or what is going on. They constantly mix up the dates and details of various appointments. They have no respect for people's time and will drag you into the office for pointless appointments, I had been told that I would be finally receiving my dental treatment (after 1 YEAR of waiting on them to schedule me in), I came in and the treatment was not done that day, they dragged me all the way here just to fill out paperwork. If they were not gonna do the treatment, they could have just asked me to fill out the form on the day of my treatment rather than dragging me all the way across town twice. Was a patient here for over a decade, my family has found a new dentist and we are no longer coming back. Ridiculous

With an excuse of 'pandemic' this clinic started charging $18 for each visit which is NOT insurance covered. When I visited last month, they charged me $18 and I thought they would provide well protected PPE, mask etc. for each patient, dentists and their assistants. Shockingly, I didn't find anything special the dentist and his assistant were wearing (they had their own clinic attire and mask as they had in pre-pandemic time). While paying the bill, the front desk lady told that the owner spent a lot of money to make the clinic more safer and that was the reason they started charging $18 by the name of health safety. If this is the case, why the next door oral surgery clinic doesn't charge this 'safety' amount of $18 ?

The hygienists are all amazing. I have yet to have an unpleasant experience, and that's saying something because it's a freakin dentist's office! My three year old had her first appointment today, and the staff was perfect! She even walked out saying she loved the dentist.

I have been going to Kanata Lakes Dental for over 15 years, and always had a great experience with Dr. Lau. In the past year, I noticed a decline in customer service including the constant reminders via telephone and email with to book an appointment as well as being charged to see the dentist each time, but I haven’t even met the other dentist on site. When I didn’t have benefits, Dr. Lau told me I needed no work done as my wisdom teeth came in, since having benefits, I noticed they continue to push that I need additional work. The hygienist are all fabulous.

Avoid this center at any cost. They overcharge patients. They charged me 200 dollars for a 10 minutes filling. They are not flexible, when it comes to missing appointments. I missed an appointment , and they insisted that I pay 100 dollars as no show fee.

Totally unacceptable service to customers. Waited 3 months for a filling replacement; appointment canceled on morning of the scheduled work. New support staff, temporary dentists, ownership changes do not give confidence in the work to be done.

If you want to waste your Money & time book appointment with Dr. JOHN LAU, you've got no dental service done to your teeth but you still need to pay for your Visit. Poor dental Knowledge, Poor Customer Service.

I agree with most posts here (the ones I've read anyway) - great service, smiles, very pleasant staff. My only 'irk' here is that I've come to learn that most of the staff are not compensated entirely fairly. A business that is as presumably as successful as this one gets that way because of its entire staff (not just the great expertise of the dentists themselves). I certainly won't claim to know all the details, but at least 5 to 10+ years service and still only 2 weeks vacation as an example (again, possibly not ALL staff but at least a few hygienists). I can only hope there are other compensations for them I'm not aware of that help offset that type of 'antiquated gratitude'... but sadly, that's often not the case.

In late April 2021 my dear 93 year old father required an emergency dental appointment with Dr. George at Kanata Lakes Dental Centre. My father and l were treated extremely well by Dr. George and his assistant who were both warm, compassionate and professional. Dr. George ensured my father was well tended to and took great care resolving his dental issue that day. Of course we have to give a great big thanks to the front office staff who made our visit unforgettable with their great sense of humour and kindness. Who would have thought going to the dentist good be such a great experience!

Despite what others say, the staff are not educated on folks with mental health . TERRIBLE experience. they shouldn't treat people the way they do, def not fair

I have been a patient of Kanata Lakes Dental Centre for about 15 years. If you are a the nervous type and really don't like going to the dentist...this is the place for you. All the latest technology, the best staff and the most thorough in your dental care. I always leave feeling like I have been to a professional environment in a community setting!

Really good experience with a hygienist. Michelle made sure I was relaxed and kept me informed on what she was doing.

Poor service, billing mistakes that took far too long to correct, had to pay another dentist to fix their mistake, rushed cleaning to get me out the door. There are better dentists out there.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Lau’s now for over a decade and could not recommend him more. He’s knowledgable, personable, patient, and provides superior dental work. The technology used is state of the art, and each room equipped with a tv for distraction. The receptionists are also top of the line, I’ve never had a bad experience, always leave smiling and that’s saying something from someone with terrible dental anxiety. I’ve had to use another dentist for an emergency and they don’t even compare to the level of service I’ve received at Kanata Lakes.

The staff at Kanata Dental Clinic were friendly and professional. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly, and the receptionists were helpful in handling my paperwork. The dental hygienist was gentle and thorough during the cleaning process, ensuring my comfort throughout.

I came to Kanata Lakes Dental because I couldn’t get in on time to my regular dentist. They were able to fit me in quickly and it was a good experience. The dental hygienist Lisa was very thorough and nice! I would recommend.

Love love going to my dentist. Thank you to Dr. Lau and his team, he always makes me feel comfortable esp when I had my root canal done, always explaining things to me thoroughly. The staff are amazing and always happy, and the front desk people are so friendly. Would recommend them and my mom already started coming here and she had an amazing experience as well.

Everything went well and Dr George was fantastic. The staff were friendly and helpful as always. I used to hate going to the dentist but not any more because the team is awesome.

Thank you for helping my son through this first (hopefully only) procedure to deal with his cavity. He was reassured by the dentist and Hygienist and thus was quite brave.

This time it was teeth cleaning. As always it was done well. Dr. George came in and we scheduled some work that needed done. This is a great place.

The hygienists are awesome here. I've had the same one consistently for many years and she's great. They send the claim straight to insurance so no filing on my side. The place is modern, clean and looks great. Dr. Lau and his team are awesome, knowledgeable, and makes you feel at home.

The receptionist was exasperated with me when I said it's been a while since I've seen a dentist. Didn't feel very welcoming towards new patients. Called elsewhere and the receptionist was much kinder and less critical.

I had my wisdom teeth taken out by Dr. Kapur, and the procedure was completely pain-free. It was overall a great experience!

Dr. Kapur did a great job on my wisdom tooth extraction, the process was quick and painless.
