Great food but they can improve in other ways. The drive thru took long... In line for 20 mins (probably because the McD's nearby is temporarily closed). We wanted Mozza Burgers but it was unavailable so we had Teen Burgers instead. I ordered a Chocolate Pie.... When I got home, it was Apple. The staff are nice but they can improve on efficiency during peak volumes... April 2022 Update: I did email A&W since they replied to this review. They replied back that they would look into this. No response at all with the investigation results so don't waste your time and email them. There's no point.

The food is great.. well.. the Bryomd Meat specifically. It is just a game changer and a great addition. It is fantastic! The service is not bad. We were helped by Joshua who was very nice and greeted us with a smile. An employee from the kitchen came to the front and politely asked us if we want him to remake a sandwich which he made without cheese by mistake or just add the cheese slice, which showed us how they value customer's opinion. ALSO! THEY USE PAPER STRAWS so it can't get any better

As always, the A&W here was a pleasant visit. Has some of the best onion rings as far as fast food places are concerned. Chipotle mayo was great with the sweet potato fries.

Drive thru is not properly staffed after midnight. This wait is beyond insane. Shouldve gone to the Mcdonalds down the street. Their drive through is at least structured properly to not make customers wait half an hour....

The worst AW location in history. I don't think I've gone here a single time and not have them mess up the order. When I went back in drive thru and waited 15minutes they'll gas light you and call you a liar. I told them to pull security tapes and tell me again I'm lying about getting 1 drink instead of 2? Lol What a disgrace to a once proud Canadian franchise. AW corporate, if you read this and actually care I have one word for feedback.... PATHETIC. I'll literally burn my money before I ever go back to this garbage establishment.

A&W is one of the best Canadian fast food restaurant companies. This location on Terry fox near hazeldean is perfect for friends and family to grab a bite, a burger and a delicious root beer. Highly recommended especially that the parks nearby are amazing.

If I could give zero stars I would, worst service I have ever.. EVER experienced. I understand late night drive-thru’s are busy but last night (6/17/2022) @ midnight was horrendous. This awful lady was rude, not empathetic for the 70 MINUTE WAIT!!!!! Didn’t apologize, confirm order total, or help her back support staff, simply took orders while ours was sitting right at the window.. by the time i got my drink the ice had melted entirely and food was soggy/cold.. all and all awful service, I’ve worked drive-thru overnights for 6 years.. just pathetic to watch really..

Just ordered on Uber and because it was a bogo offer I put a long list of notes in the order cause my husband is so picky but I love your food the way it is. But they followed every single note to a T! Phenomenal staff that took the time to make the order perfect. It made my night! Thank you so much!

By far the best A&W food we have had in a VERY long time. The onion rings were not over seasoned or over cooked. The sweet potatoe fries were crispy and hot, not warm, soggy and limp. The service was friendly and fast, everywhere was clean and well stocked. To staff and crew, great job, our visit was very enjoyable. To the Manager and owner, your staff were amazing and worked well together, you should be proud of their hard work and professionalism. Thank you

Michelaine and Natalie are really nice! Mich has a great smiley and welcoming energy, and Natalie has "good manager" vibes. Really enjoyed the story Mich was telling me to pass the time while my order was being made, however I wish there were a few tables left available for dine-in after hours, like literally just the few tables closest to the entrance, pretty cold days are coming, and I'm sure more people would want to spend time at the cozy A&W on Hazeldean. Mich's recommendation of the BLT Chicken Cruncher was a good one, really enjoyed that. Not the biggest crunch ever, but definitely a crunch by fast food standards. I'm also glad she put a lid on my water, because when I got on the bus, I sat down, put it on my seat, and it like, immediately fell 😅 The lid didn't come off, so it only spilled a tiny bit. Good water tho 👍🏻 Also good sweet potato fries, definitely sweet potato, can confirm

Beware some restaurant workers might over charge you. usually I go to this restaurant from drive thru couple of times tries to over change me but I prevent it. Today as soon as I reach window & pay for a poutine using a debit card Resturant told me it gonna take more time for cooking, I ask why you didn’t tell that before you take money, Probably they new I was in a rush. I left the restaurant without food, but loose money. I have everything recorded in my dash cam

Spoiled my Sunday morning. Delay in service. There was no steel spoon and fork to eat my pancake. And the arrogance of cashier, while asked about this !!! Keep people with humble attitude and has a mind to offer service. Never again to this place.

The price hikes have been higher than at other fast food joints...prices have almost doubled in less than 4 years for many items. I give them 4 stars because their hamburgers are not greasy and they have sweet potato fries.

Food took forever even though we went late and there was no line ups, and then once we finally got the food the fries were all super cold the onion rings looked like they had been thrown into the bag and the burgers were drenched in ketchup and mayo!! Went to speak with the Manager (her name is Ramine) and she couldn't have cared less!!! Nothing was done to fix this matter!!!

This location has consistently messed up my. I always order the Beyond meat burger with no cheese or mayo. 9/10 times there will be mayo on it. Once, I was even given a chicken burger.. This had been the case with Uber (written instructions) and visiting the physical store.

I was there on August 19th, 2023 around 5.50 pm. I placed my order which was taken in such a rush that even before finishing every item, I was asked “Anything else” almost 6-7 times. I came to window and was handed over the bag of food in such a rush that the bag dropped. The staff at the time (Nikhil) was not even looking towards me while handing food. Either the place is understaffed and they are doing a lot and fast. Or staff are simply rude and don’t care. When I told him, at least look on this side while handling food, he says he handles all customer like this. So he seemed pretty confident that HE DOESN’T CARE. I did ask to see the manager and at that time he said manager is not available(probably manager is in during morning). So a suggestion to management, I know it can be a stressful environment working sometimes but a general decency and customer service can be provided. Not asking to be super friendly but while handing in the food please be careful. Had it been a cup of hot coffee, it would have been worse. I suggest training that particular employee on how to speak with customers. A note: I was given another food after the food was dropped.

We seldom eat at any A&W but must comment on the incredibly hardworking team at this particular one. When not serving a customer, they were cleaning and wiping or straightening chairs. It was a most impressive team effort.

I go here frequently. They offer a lettuce bun, and they always serve me with a smile, even though I have a lot of food restrictions. It's a clean, appealing, fast-food restaurant. Plus, the food is delicious, especially their fries.

Had the All-Canadian Breakfast - 2 eggs, 2 sausage, 2 bacon, toast, homefries, tomato - all for 8.09+tx. Any size coffee for $1. Wow, what a deal! And compliments to the chef.

Tried the Beyond nuggets. They were extremely good with the sweet and sour sauce. I would definitely get them again. They were nice and hot and fresh and crispy.

I was having a hard day and was craving onion rings. They proceeded to tell me to park out front to since it’s not busy they’re making a fresh batch. It’s such a small action but it really made my day to know that they made that step to serve fresh food. (Even if it’s just onion rings) Can’t remember the young mans name but it started with a K. Great customer service!

Good burger. Not as much flavour in the onion rings as I'd like. Pleasant and fast service. Men's washroom didn't have a handicap push button which surprised me as the building is less than 10 years old. Can't imagine why it wouldn't of been included. Everything else seems wheelchair accessible but I'm not an expert on such matters.

Extremely long wait on drive thru and poor service. I am writing this review after experiencing it 6-7 times continuously. On top of the super long wait on drive thru, even the coffee was so bad I had to throw it out. Leaving a completely frustrating experience. I loved A&W coffee since I tried it few months ago - the aroma of the organic coffee was outstanding, but the experience with this A&W location have made me quit going to A&W completely. I loved their organic food sourcing and fresh selection of food items - but the poor service just ruins the whole experience. I must say this poor service I have only experienced at this location.

Food is good but service in this location is weird. Entered Restaurant and ordered around 8:30pm. Right after ordered, we were told it is near to close. This location suppose to be 24 hours. No frozen mug as close to end of day. Eventually more customers get in. I think staff wants to close and only run drives thru. If this the case, let us know before take order.

Quick drive thru! Glad I checked my meal before leaving because they forgot my son's fries, I tapped on the window and told them. The girl quickly grab me so e and handed them to me and also apologized. Very nice staff.

We go here simply because it's the most convenient place with vegetarian/vegan options. The drive thru is painfully slow. Even with no one in front of you, plan for a 10 minute wait. They have messed up our orders a couple times - including putting mayo on a burger with a specified egg allergy. They have forgotten to put fries and burgers in the bag and mixed up drinks or given me a completely wrong order (I once was handed 5 coffees and told to have a good day after ordering a burger combo - that was confusing). Once when I ordered an egg and cheese with lettuce and tomato, the drive thru worker was adamant that I meant adding the lettuce and tomato to my fries because they punched in the fries before adding the veggies to the sandwich. It took a few minutes of frustrating conversation before they changed the add-ons to my sandwich instead. My words of advice: skip drive thru entirely and go inside and check all your food and order to make sure they didn't omit or change anything.

Don't stop here for just a coffee. The one server was doing drive-thru, storefront, and taking out parked DT orders. It took about 3-4 minutes before she took my order then another 3-4 to finally pour my coffee. She was overworked and they are understaffed. If I hadn't been meeting someone I would have left before placing my order. Coffee was just OK. McDs and Tim's both have much better coffee. Love A&W burgers and Diet Root Beer but will avoid this location for meeting someone.

Been in line literally 13 minutes, they keep getting skip or and Uber orders ready and NOT taking any of the actual people in restaurants order. No ketchup in machine, no forks in dispenser, no napkins. This is by far the worst " fast food " service I have ever seen. We are walking out as line is out the door and there is NO movement because no one will take orders.

Gross! the fries were so old and cold they were actually chewy. The burger was cold too. I love A&W, but today was a huge disappointment 😞

I don’t do many reviews, but when I experience a truly poor restaurant, I just can’t help myself. Stopped in this location with my wife and our niece. I as soon as we entered we smelled the strong odour of either dirty dish water or a mop & pail. The young lady who took our order was very nice. I am sure she was embarrassed to tell us there was no ice for soft drinks. We sat down with our meal and observed that the place was just plain dirty. Floor, and tables were greasy. From where we sat we could see behind the counter was messy , garbage on the floor and in disarray. Upon leaving the whole area around the garbage cans just inside the main door were in need of emptying. Overall I would say this owner/ franchisee needs to have visit from head office , and be shown what A&W cleaning standards are. Most other locations I have visited in the past have been very good.

Ordered onion rings and received fries. Employee didn’t respond to my request for onion rings or something to make up the price difference. I didn’t want to block the drive-thru so I just left.

I received a completely different sandwich and when I came home I was so disappointed because I haven't had anything since morning and what I get was completely different from what I ordered.

No napkins in bag, we ordered a poutine and did not receive it, instead received fries. Uncle burger tasted old as well. Employees were incompetent this place needs to work on customer service, not one smile.
