Contrary to other reviews, this was not bad at all. Good actually. Ordered 2 gyros - One chicken and one vegetarian. Both were decent. Had one glass of the house red.

Mythos is a fantastic, small, cozy Greek restaurant with great food, varying in prices, suitable for all customers. My partner and I had chicken gyros that were freshly cooked with lots of flavour. We were served by who I assume was the owner and a new employee who was very friendly. The decorations of fish was a beautiful touch, with great atmosphere. Would recommend this comfortable restaurant to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

I'm assuming it's the owner but a lovley man was stood by the door as we was passing and helped talk talk through the menu. We decided on a gyro and it tasted delicious. Definitely recommend 🙂

The owner welcomed us and he was very funny and a kind person. The rest of the staff was silent and a little cold, not very helpful. I was with my girlfriend, we took 2 pitas gyros (11,90€ each) and they were ok, the meat didnt smelled so good, had a strange smell. Then we ordered a mussaka splitted in two (24,50€ for 1 mussaka) and it smelled and tasted really bad, we left more than half of it. 6,50€ for a 0,65 water (insane! But I saw that more or less that is the price in amsterdam restaurants). We would ve loved an attention because we spent 25 euro for a mussaka we didnt like, but anyway...

Went there with a Groupon ticket . Had a nice dinner. The atmosphere is nice and the food is good. Only minus is that it took like forever to get the drinks Prices average , expect to pay 30 Euro pp if you want to have a complete meal

Very tasty, authentic Greek food. I just wish they had cold Mythos. The Halloumi was delicious and the pork souvlaki was very good.

We “accidentally” found this restaurant (due to an error in navigating to a different one) and it was a happy mistake! The owner of the restaurant was friendly and welcoming. He speaks English and seemed genuinely thrilled and appreciative to have us there. He was patient to explain the menu and offer suggestions. We settled on a few of the daily specials (pitas and pita plates) and they did not disappoint! Our whole family of 4 enjoys Greek food, and we all agreed it was some of the best we’d ever had. Both the chicken and pork were exceptionally tender and flavorful. The Tzatziki sauce was to die for. Prices were super affordable, especially compared to the restaurants on the main tourist streets. Highly recommend Mythos and would love to return!

Delicious!!!!! Had the chicken gyro. My family lived in Greece and this place is authentic Greek food. We came to visit from the U.S. and the food and service are top notch

Tourist trap. I don't know how there are so many positive reviews. The chicken gyros were dry and included hardly any taziki and cost 23 euros! These should've cost half that (or less honestly). Atmosphere was a bit depressing too. I kind of figured it was a touristy area and food might be not great but didn't expect a Greek place to be this disappointing. Do yourself a favor and stay away!

Great food for price that you don't see often nowadays. Paid 50€ (including a tip) for 5 courses and 2 drinks. Ordered baked feta, bread with garlic butter and baked potato as an appetizer and two pitas with chicken gyros as the main dish. Their portions (as are their drinks!, usually you get small glass bottles for the same, if not higher, price) are actually quite large as well. We definitely did not need as much food as we ordered. Definitely recommend.

Cozy little greek restaurant with amazing food! Maybe it was the owner who served us, an older Greek man, he was a little forgetful at times, but very kind. Food came quick. The food was so delicious, and there were plenty of it. Could have used a little more tzatziki, but other than that everything was great. One thing we were annoyed about was all of the delivery guys who came through the restaurant when we were eating. That was very disturbing..

This place serves basic meat dishes.Lumps of chicken,pork, bit of lamb.Not really Greek,more a hungry tourist mix from 1985ish.Little sides of chips or salad.250ml beers etc.And THE mixed dish is not €30.Thats for each person,as another review points out. It is just a heap of meats,by the way. Dogs would love this dive/dish. Also,you will not avoid the quirky elf running about,and his bill might surprise you.(but,hey,he's too old now to pull your girlfriend,if ever.So not so bad.) Now do get a price agreed before you eat or drink in very standard tourist class.Please. We paid €70....!!#$#€

Food was delicious and reasonably prices. Owner was lovely - our food was very slow to come out and I think there may have been a problem in the kitchen/miscommunication - the owner came by after about an hour and noticed we hadn't eaten yet and went to fix it immediately. So while the food did take a long time, I think we were the exception rather than the rule. 3.5 stars if possible but I will give 4

Ended up here by accident after an issue with a reservation at another restaurant. What a great accident it turned out to be. The ribs were some of the best I have had anywhere, the pita wraps were delicious and the owner was so nice and attentive waiting on us. Would recommend this place to anyone, a highlight of our trip to Amsterdam!

Ordered the grilled octopus and calamari for takeaway. Both were delicious! Would honestly order everyday if I could. Staff was very friendly and accommodating as I brought my own tupperwares :)

Attentive and friendly staff with food that could be improved especially regarding the plating. However this is not fine dining but delivers good value for the money. I had very tender lamb chops, simple but tasty and juicy. My daughter had chicken gyros which were a bit basic. The bone found in the meat was immeateatly compensated. The four stars come from the price, speed, friendliness.

Awesome restaurant, good ambient, good food! Five stars!

Summary: pretty okay, but quite expensive for what’s on offer. We ordered the mixed starters and the “five meats” main course for delivery. Overall, the food was quite all right. The only real disappointment was the calamari (which had turned soggy by the time they arrived), but in fairness I suppose those are hard to deliver in their original crispy state. Aside from that however, the rest was pretty nice. Not great, not bad. Factor in the price however and it’s all a little underwhelming.

First off, the food is incredible, it's affordable for the quality of the food and beverages that they offer. Atmosphere is amazing, beautiful interior and comfortable places to rest. The lovely (Rimitri?), who is 72 years old is the kindest service person we have encountered, he is very good at what he does, the presentation of the food and the love he has whilst working at his age is commendable. The kitchen staff is hard-working and very efficient, we got our food timed perfectly - appetizer, main, desert. All in all a lovely experience and our favorite restaurant in Amsterdam.
