If you're expecting authentic Japanese zen, this is not going to live up to your expectations. The pools, however, are spacious and allow for total relaxation, provided the people next to you shut up. €4 will get you 1.5 hours of swapping between pools and taking ice cold dips in between. The change rooms are clean and the establishment provides you with a locker to lock up your clothes and valuables. Unfortunately, you can't take photos, so my pic is courtesy of the website. Open until 02:30.

Note that there are 2 Chavesquerria hot springs, a private spa (that was quite nice) that is CLOSED, and a municipal facility run by the fine city of Ourense. This just reopened in last few days (it's Oct 21st) -- I just had a great 90 minute soak. 3 nicely designed rock pools adjacent to the walking path and Mino River. 1 warm, 1 hot and 1 coldish. No changing rooms at this time -- bathers discretely change around the general area. These are FREE! It's so great that the city's leaders continue this notable gift to its citizens and visitors. These are clean, well managed facilities (there are 2 more larger springs up -- I think! river...) with very personable and professional attendants keeping an eye out. Also a few pools on the river beach area that aren't officially city run.

We had a wonderful visit to the thermal baths, 41’ degrees in two pools, and cold in the river, not too busy, friendly locals, recent upgrade work done. surrounding area and parking areas are untidy, but this free (!) amenity is well worth a visit.

Good in the summer, lots of locals use the thermal pools. Pick up your beach gear.

Don’t miss this spot! Come around 1pm while tide is high so you can jump in and out of the pools. People here take this place seriously and you need to make sure to shower before you get it. They will call you out on it if you don’t. Awesome place to emerge in the culture and listen to old people talk about funny stuff. Come enjoy and get to achey pains to go away. Been having knee problems all my trip. This place made it all go away. Also they drain the water every day and while you bathe. So you know you aren’t swimming in peoples athletes foot.

Great small free thermal baths. There are two hot water pools and one cold. People even take a bath in the river. Showers, toilets. Sometimes you might have to wait for a bit to enter because they're small and can only accomodate a certain number of people. Very pleasant and nicer atmosphere than the bigger baths!

I went with my family for the first time, the water and around clean, the person in charge very kindly. It's a great place and free of charge=paradise

Lovely place to go to relax in the waters. Free car park next to the first public pools, or a walk along the river from the Roman bridge. An attendant was there this time and you can borrow flip-flops from her (a requirement poolside). Can get busy but you can go early and even though the air temperature is cool, the waters will compensate for it. There are loos next to the car park.
