Well I haven’t been here since 2007 and Femi was still able to bring the roof down as usual. It kinda reminded me of my UNI days when I used to come here. Think I’ll visit more often now and it seems pretty organized as well

Second time here. Came for the remembrance of the Legend Fela Anikulapo Kuti. Watched Made Kuti play, enjoyable experience. It's a different world in there, their Afrobeat world.

This was my best experience so far this year. The vibe is something you need to experience. You definitely can't miss this on your to do list if you plan vacation in Lagos,Nigeria and I'd suggest you visit on a Sunday cos you'd get to see Femi Kuti perform live with his intoxicating energy. I'd surely go back over and over. P.S.Gate fee is just #1,000 and show starts at 7pm.

I only went to deliver a system to a customer who insist I should... I don't go to shrine but an invitation to deliver an item. I saw how excited people there are... I guess is due to the music sweeting to them.. or the voice of the singer. Was enjoyable to all there...

It is a cool place to visit in Lagos mainland. A big theatre and some nice historic photos in honour of the musical legend himself, Fella Kuti. The place is usually not very busy unless there's a concert going on (mostly on Sundays). There are several food stalls inside the hall and also noticed here people smoke ganja openly.

What an amazing life music venue. There is no other place where you can go up on stage with the Artist and have a dance. If you can go and listen and watch Made Kuti please do so. β€οΈβ€οΈπŸ™πŸΎπŸ™πŸΎ Black excellence

Afrika Shrine is an outlet for musical concerts especially for night party lovers. It is also a place for smokers to openly buy varieties of smokes without police harassment. The place is not suitable for children to go by reason of the nature of the place. It is meant majorly for adult who responsible for his/her action.

I Had a beautiful time here for a first timer. Came in on a Sunday for the Sunday Jump, experienced a beautiful presentation from Mr Femi himself, the dancers, instrumentalists.. all beautiful. Also, you find different vendors coming to your table to sell you food and palm wine, the bathroom is CLEAN CLEAN ( to my biggest surprise). I’m glad the shrine is still standing and being maintained well. Please keep it up.

11:40pm yet no proper music is playing. The DJ has been playing absolute rubbish and causing sound pollution since 10:00pm even after several approaches were made to Jim. My first time here and the will be the last probably!

It is a freedom zone! You can smoke and drink here and also relax with some grilled πŸ– or 🐠. The Fela Shrine is situated here and his songs are played in the background all day. People also play games here. You will see a couple of Fela theme designs on the wall when you move around.

It is the best relaxation spot in the city of Lagos the commercial capital of Nigeria. Its also the best place to listen to live music, it is the Afrobeat music factory where great Afrobeat music are produced to the world. Built by Yeni and Femi Anikulapo Kuti in honour of the great music icon and creator of the Afrobeat music Fela Anikulapo Kuti. Famous and well respected people have visited the New Afrika Shrine, below is the list. President Emmanuel Macron (President of France πŸ‡«πŸ‡· visited in 2018) Vice President Yemi Osinbajo (Vice President of Nigeria πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬ visited October, 2018) Sodi Marciszewer (Femi Kuti's Producer since many years) World Heavy Weight Champion Anthony Joshua Naomi Campbell Late Hugh Masekela All Ambassadors of USA, FRANCE, ITALY, NETHERLANDS, GERMANY ETC have all one time or the other been there Jidenna AntiBalas Seal Asa Angelique Kidjo Don Carlos Wizkid Davido Etc all the big names you can think of have all been to the New Afrika Shrine.

I was at the New African shrine 2 weeks ago waiting for Pastor Adeshina who wanted to collect 4 220ah tubular batteries from us from Akure Ondo state myself and Rahmon and the taxi driver was waiting patiently in the taxi until his vehicle arrived in one hour,we looked at the street urchin walking up and down controlling the traffic we paid for the parking space. He arrived and we trancered the four batteries into the vehicle he brought three of them were in the vehicle himself, his wife and his driver after delivering the batteries we left.

Went on a quiet day, just for the history. Surprisingly feels safer inside than when you are outside. Street food, some handmade jewellery and art. If you are going for the show, be there on Sunday evenings.

One of my all time favorite destinations. Feel the raw energy and vibration of Afrobeat as Femi Kuti and the positive force band perform live on stage. A cold drink, good friends, peaceful environment, live afrobeat from a living legend, and dancing (if your body takes you there), what more could you ask for? Like I said... the experience is always top notch!

Wanting to get the good of feelings of the great Legned of his time and our Time?? Fela Anikolapokuti then it's a great fun spot, but you have to shine your eyes when there and be woke..try to look out for Day Femi kuti will rehearse and perform then you are sure of great performance from him and his band..

It was a wee bit underwhelming. I expected more land space and beauty from such a famed place, but this is Nigeria. I expressed my displeasure to a few people and they said to visit again when Femi or Seun Kuti is performing. It's supposed to be electric then.

This place is Spiritual, I mean what else do you get from a place where the great Fela himself performed. On this day I watched the great Femi Kuti and his son Imade Kuti thrill us with their music and the performance blew my mind away. The place gives me nostalgic memories of Nigeria and I appreciate our development as a country over the years even though it looks like we are slow. Nigeria will be great again if we have passionate leaders who cared about the country.

Shrine is always a lovely place to visit because is real and calm, people will look you differently if you over dress. That is why I call it real. Don't go if you're not a smoker because you'll not understand the Angel's language 😁

The reason why i love the place is because is much coordinated and anything you want is there. Both Smokes drinks food and any other things you ever imagined. The music there is so classic that you can't even want to miss a minute there. The photos here show when daddy Femi is performing.

You have to watch Made Kuti on Stage, you have to pleaseeeeeeeee... The others are Kings Seun and Femi Kuti Kings, please you have to visit the Shrine if you are in Nigeria or Lagos, beautiful scenery, amazing acoustics. Great live performances. There are rest rooms that have been newly renovated, artifacts at the shops to buy, food and an experience to remember.

  • 4/5 Adesegun O. 2 years ago on Google
If you are not bothered or disturbed by the heavily presence of smokes, I think it's a nice spot to unwind and enjoy yourself plus you could by yourself some nice fabrics and stuffs from shops inside the shrine, watch match, movies or hangout at the snooker game spot. As mean looking or scary some people around might look the environment is actually safe. There are some lurking police who arrests people driving against traffic (one way) regardless of the time so be careful.

This place is a very lively place to be in Ikeja. Ranging from good music, street food, chicken, fish, barbecue, ice cream and cold drinks. The fun is always hitting back to back. The environment is crazy on weekends, with a lot of activities going on. Live band performances are always the best here.

Vibrations! Shows on Thu and Sunday. Cover charge of N1000 for regular sitting and N2000 for VIP area (upper seating).

  • 3/5 Pelu A. 1 year ago on Google
I've been here more times than I can recall. Though busy with activity on Thursday and Sunday evenings -- when Femi Kuti and his band perform -- it is open every day of the week. Thursday evenings are when Femi and band rehearsal. Fans have access to the shrine at no cost. On Sunday evenings are when the Femi and band put up a full-blown performance, tagged "Sunday Jump" An entry fee is charged -- last I know it was N1000/ head. Show usually begins at about 7/9pm-ish and wraps at about 10/11pm. On regular days, you'll find Lagosians (mostly youths) seated about chatting, drinking and watching football on TV -- when there are live matches, that is. Others not keen on the sport play snooker instead. The bar is always open. Almost always, the crafts shops are also open , selling Fela-branded t-shirts and caps, reggae-inspired paraphernalia and other souvenirs.
