Woodlands
is
one
of
the
original
Indian
vegetarian
restaurants
in
Hong
Kong.
They
opened
their
original
branch
in
TST
East
in
1981
and
have
been
a
popular
fixture
there
since.
Recently,
they
opened
up
this
new
branch
on
Luard
Road
in
Wanchai,
taking
over
the
premise
formerly
used
by
Khana
Khazana.
Opening
hours
are
11.30am
to
3pm
(lunch)
and
6pm
to
11pm
(dinner)
and
have
a
considerably
larger
seating
area
then
what
you
find
at
this
place
in
TST
East.
Had
lunch
for
the
first
time
at
the
new
Woodlands
recently
and
happy
to
report
that
they
offer
the
same
menu
and
seem
to
be
doing
a
nice
job
ensuring
the
food
quality
is
up
to
the
standards
as
what
you
find
at
their
original
place.
On
the
occasion
I
had
their
veg
samosa
and
chili
paneer,
both
very
tasty
as
was
the
Madras
style
coffee.
All
worth
ordering
again.
I
very
much
enjoy
the
thali
sets
at
the
main
Woodlands.
These
are
good
portion
size,
plenty
of
curry
bowls
and
bread
to
feed
a
couple
of
people
each.
Other
regular
orders
that
I
find
really
good
include
the
vada
pav
(starter),
Gobi
Manchurian
(signature)
and
various
curries,
rice
and
naan
-
all
of
which
are
good
veg
only
dishes.
In
the
end,
Wanchai
has
ok
Indian
restaurants
but
not
much
that
stands
out.
Very
good
to
see
Woodlands
opening
up
on
the
island
side,
filling
the
void
left
when
Khana
Khazana
closed
down
a
couple
years
ago.
Really
hope
they
live
up
to
the
expectations
we
have
of
their
main
restaurant.
If
so,
they
should
do
fine
at
this
new
place.
