Delicious creatively done fusion South Indian food. The place is nice and bright, the best ones are at the entrance, and by the front window! The combos/thalis are the best and a good selection of drinks to go. The evening menu is mostly a la carte and I wish they served the combos all through the day!

This is the first time I've tried an Indian restaurant in Brighton. And it doesn't disappoint, the menu offered a wide range of dishes to choose from. The reception that we received was both friendly and very helpful. The food is absolutely delicious and freshly prepared. Highly recommended

Came here for anniversary meal and it was just delicious. Had a papad and chutney nibbles and bhajis starter and then prawn sizzling thing and lamb thing with rice (sorry for saying thing it’s just I can’t remember names of the dishes) it was absolutely gorgeous. Couple of lovely masala margaritas as well - two starters, two mains with sides, and two cocktails all in at under £80 something I think. Quality was excellent. Just excellent. Oh and stacks of gluten free and vegan / dairy free options. Perfect for choice.

It was really comfortable dining experience. Portions were very generous and the food is quite light/ healthy compared to most Indian restaurants. Not much oily feel which is a good thumb. While it might not be the most authentic Indian restaurant, my family and I really enjoyed the thali set, chicken and naan. Set menu was decent priced and I felt good, so recommended

Amazing, everything about this place is perfect. I used to work in India and the food is about as authentic as it gets, as well as being indulgently delicious. I usually get the chef's special platter (pictured) and everything about it is sublime. The pork just falls off the bone, the chicken is spiced and cooked to perfection, and the amount of food you get is more than satisfactory - in fact, I usually end up getting a doggy bag to enjoy the leftovers the next day. Service is great with attentive and friendly staff, the decor is a cute, cosy sort of shabby chic, and there's a good range of craft beers available to complement your meal.

Had the thali. Was basically boring and bland. And the whole place looks grubby and needs a bit of a clean. The lamb curry had no spices in it and tastes like a boring lamb stew. Shame because last time I came here it was so much better. Pictures are comparison of last time and this. Csn see that standards have dropped significantly.

Even though the restaurant was full it was very quiet and peaceful but not to an extent where the silence was loud. This was perfect for me and my friend as we were over stimulated from the busy city on a Saturday evening. The food was really nice and cheap but was lacking in spice. We were waited on very quickly which was nice until the end where we were waiting for fifteen minutes for our bill. The restaurant it’s self is very pretty and decorated with lots of small trinkets very appealing to the eye.

The Curry Leaf is possibly one of the most chill places in Brighton, especially as someone who travels a lot. The staff greet you as if you're a regular and are at hand with recommendations that you should definitely take ♥ The food, I cannot fault! They taste authentic and do a great vegan selection!! I look forward to returning to Brighton, just for their paneer curry ?

One thing every traveler would agree on is their hunt for the right food. Very close to Brighton beach, this place offers decent food. There are not hundreds of options in the menu but enough to fill you well. I visited with friends and we tried multiple dishes. The attached image is for a Thali which was delicious and the mango lassi tastes well as well. The ambience is great for a sunny day as they have clear roofs.

Fantastic atmosphere, food and service. The curry leaf cafe made an impact immediately with all the beautiful colours and artwork. The waiting staff were excellent and very attentive. The food was absolutely delicious. We ordered the paneer zafrani thali and the festive tandoori platter. The chicken tikka was the best I've ever tasted, extremely tender and packed full of flavour. The venison and pork were also delicious. All the dishes of the thali were exceptional, we particularly enjoyed the vegetable pakoras and the daal. Probably the best pakoras we've eaten. I will definitely be returning, great vibes food and value for money.

We recently visited Curry Leaf to celebrate my daughter's graduation. The staff were wonderful, the atmosphere was relaxed and the food was absolutely delicious 😋 I said at the time that it was the best Indian meal I had ever had and my daughter replied that it was simply the best meal she had ever had!

It’s awful taste overall, Dosa wasn’t good and paneer Thaili was pretty okize. however cocktail was fine 👍🏻 Food dressing fine but chef definitely needs to workout on taste part. Definitely I won’t recommend desi food here.

Honestly one of the best Currys Ive had in Brighton. The 'mini aubergine bhajis' tasted great! The chicken wings had loads of flavour but a bit spicy for us! For mains, we got the Jackfruit & coconut curry & the Coorg pork curry and both came with a rice and side dish that paired with the curry. Full of flavour plenty of food & lovely staff! Will definitely be returning.

The dining experience fell short of expectations. The food lacked flavor, arrived lukewarm, and portions were insufficient. Additional charges for everything felt excessive. But I'd like to end on a positive note - the staff is very attentive and friendly, and the ambiance is delightful.

Ordered dal tadka, paneer curry, naan and veg platter for takeout. Food was reasonable. Portions were smaller than other places in Brighton offering Indian curries.

Went there for the first time, and the food was just perfect. My wife loved the food being her curry. But it was a bit difficult to find the location. Otherwise, no complaints and we would definitely be going there again.

Interesting curry house, visited as part of a Brighton Food Tour. We were given a plate of appetizers which were very nice and a taster of a couple of beers. This restaurant prides itself on its range of beers and pairings with Indian food. We had an I testing talk on the restaurant and its beers. I would go back for a meal and a beer or two.

It is my favourite place to have Indian food. I have tried a few others in Brighton but I keep on returning here. The quality is consistently good and the curry here is just so tasty! I love to go for a late lunch, it is quieter but not completely dead. The service is always friendly and I always feel well looked after.

A quirkily decorated Indian restaurant with a really lovely vibe, great service and excellent food to match. Each dish had layers of flavours and perfectly balanced. This was a perfect antidote after a hectic and stressful day at the office for both of us. The Malbec wine was so good too. Highly recommend!!!

We had a fantastic meal here as a group of 6, the staff looking after us were great and made all the guidelines clear so it felt really safe. We love the food at curry leaf and it was so nice to be in the restaurant rather than getting takeaways from there. Already planning our next visit.

We've been there last night for a evening meal before heading back home. Simple and reasonably priced menu, very delicious food, fast and welcoming in service, clean and nicely decorated environment. Love that wall art with Diamond comics but suggest to remove those God/Goddess photos from it has religious connotations and not suitable for restaurant setting. All star.

  • 3/5 Vikram P. 4 years ago on Google
I stepped in for lunch on a weekday. The place has always had a trendy ambience and service is consistently good. I ordered a thali that arrived promptly. The naan was good. But the main paneer dish was insipid - low on salt and flavour. Among the other small side dishes, only the dal was tasty. The raita was way too sweet. The vegetable dish was also insipid and there was a pointlessly large amount of salty pickle. Frankly, the cooking smacked of incompetence or indifference or both. Indians or others familiar with Indian food would be disappointed if this is a regular occurrence. The newly opened Vel in Kemptown or the long running Eastern Eye on London Road offer much higher quality even though they lack the trendy vibes.

Genuinely good food and great for intolerances. I emailed a couple of days ahead of booking to list my many food intolerances and to ask if there would be anything that I could eat. They emailed me back straight away to tell me that the chef would be happy to make me a bespoke curry. Wow! What an absolute treat it was. Freshly cooked for me and not having to worry about the after effects. Thank you so much.

It's got quite a unique decor, when you first enter. The food is excellent and the four of us had a different dish each - chicken, fish, lamb, and pork. Everyone of them was beautifully done. There's a great choice of beers too - both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. The staff are friendly and helpful and gave good advice about drinks and food. We loved everything about the place and definitely consider a return visit when next in Brighton.

Really good Indian restaurant. I really had a delicious dinner. I specially recommend the TANDOORI PLATTER, which I think is really a wonderful and delicious dish considering the cheap price (only £18)and the MANGO LASSI. It isn’t only appetizing but also very tasty. Really worth to try. The service is fast and very friendly and it is placed in a very good location (Lanes). Really worth to back!

I am vegan and Indian myself, so I was a bit skeptical about whether this place would live up to my expectations. However, I was very impressed with how authentic and delicious the vegan options were here- it felt like I was in India! It was also nice that the food wasn't overly oily like some other places I have been to, and there was no smell of meat/fish in our dishes (which reassures me that things are made and fried separately). I will definitely be a regular customer whenever I visit Brighton. Truly superb, quality Indian food. Highly recommend 10/10!

My husband and I ate here last night. We used to go pre pandemic when we lived in Brighton and got a rare night out so obviously wanted to go back. It was wonderful. The food was amazing. The flavours were fantastic and the meat was very tender, definitely cooked by chefs that know what they're doing and care about their menu. Staff were incredibly polite and friendly, attentive enough but also left us alone to enjoy our evening. Very reasonably priced for the quality of the food. Atmosphere in there is also really chilled and welcoming. One of the best places in Brighton and I can't wait to go back to try the other dishes on the menu as we both found it really hard to choose what to have.

  • 5/5 SE C. 2 years ago on Google
Great little Indian, with a lovely atmosphere and delicious food. The menu might be limited, but what we had was very satisfying. Good portions although be aware its either bread or rice with your meal..so of you want both you have to order one as an extra. I had the chicken main course and my wife the lamb. Both meals were perfectly cooked and the sauce was delicious...lovely flavours. The Nann was perfect. Great selection of craft beers or cocktails. Busy, but relaxed they seem to have it just right.

Amazing food and atmosphere. We had nibble platter and chicken lollipops for starter - amazing flavours. For main we had Sea-bass curry which was mild and very tasty. Paneer masala which was amazing. The only thing that is missing draught Indian beer but it’s available to buy bottled, I believe. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Loved it here!

Myself and my wife were craving Indian food on our last trip to Brighton and zeroed in on Curry leaf after looking at the options online. The staff was friendly. We order a portion of the Rajasthani lal mass, Alleppey sea bass curry and the mango cider. We quite liked the Lal mass, but being south Indian myself I felt the sea bass curry could be improved. The cider was one of the best I've had till date

  • 2/5 Jasmine 1 year ago on Google
We got the Chef's special platter and the Biryani rice along with the Masala chai. The tea was just 'cinnamon flavoured milk' just like the rest of the food- we'd call it flavoured food. The portions were quite small for the price charged. The pork was soft and succulent with a good crackling but the meat wasn't fresh. The food lacked the flavours that come from authentic Indian cooking. However, I was taken aback by the interiors of the place. A lot of thought has gone into decorating and there were some tasteful pieces of artwork. I felt relaxed admiring the ambiance. But I went there mainly for the food, which was a let down.

Good food and service. Potato and jackfruit curry was good. The dal served with that had no flavour. Didnt understand the purpose of dal on the dish. Mango lassi was good. Nans were fluffy but lacked taste. Seemed like the store bought naan.

Twice I’ve visited. Such an amazing cross section of high quality generous portions of food and great beer. It might seem pricy but again - portion size. Just go hungry and you won’t be disappointed. While I ate meat dishes very wide V and VG range. They spotlighted a local guest beer too. Very happy.

Stumbled across this little gem today, after wandering around aimlessly, looking for somewhere to eat that wasn’t completely packed! (Half term and match weekend…) The cafe is tucked away, but has a lovely, welcoming feel. All team members were friendly and attentive, and didn’t make the service feel rushed, despite it being busy. The wait time wasn’t too long and the food was delicious and presented beautifully. Highly recommend and will definitely be visiting again.

Had dinner in this place. Ordered 1 sizzler and Dal with rice and Nan. Food was delicious but they were too less in amount. For the same price would have filled my tummy in some other similar Indian restaurant. Ambience was good, hospitality was excellent.

Best food I have ever had in Brighton!! So much flavour, so much atmosphere and just so much fun. We came for a Hen-do but I am booking it for my graduation as well since the food was so good. It is great for the price and the deals are amazing - feeding you and your friends for cheaper. Vegans and Vegetarians are equally as happy as meat eaters here! I love it!

  • 5/5 Stanley D. 2 years ago on Google
Between us we had every vegetarian item on the menu and it was all delicious. Mains were £15.50, but those are served with rice/naan and dahl, so it's not overly expensive. Only slight downside was the fact that the staff were quite inattentive - we weren't asked once if we'd like more drinks, weren't offered a dessert menu and had to work hard to flag them down. Otherwise it was brilliant!

  • 5/5 Martin H. 9 months ago on Google
Please read this all before you decide. When I arrived I thought I had made a mistake in my choice of dining for tonight. But I was welcomed in by friendly staff, shown to a table and given some water. The atmosphere was fantastic. I ordered a drink, and then after a few minutes ordered my food. Now the wait on the food was a long one for me. (Not to say it is always long as i saw other tables get their food quickly). When I asked about the wait I was given an apology and a free starter. Free food is always a win in my book, and during the wait time I was having a nice conversation with the staff about the latest TV shows we had been watching. After some time my food. Came out, and I asked about the side I asked for. The waiter polite told me that he had forgotten to add it and that he would get it now. As it was not added to the bill I said it was fine and to not worry about it. Then i was offered a drink in compensation for the missing side. I told them it was OK and not to worry, but they felt bad and said it was the least they could do. Now who am I to refuse a free drink. So even though mistakes were made, we are all human (yes even restaurant staff). I was taken a back by the level of customer service by all the staff there. And I had a great time. So much so that I wanted to give a tip and was told it s not necessary. So to some up, GREAT food, GREAT atmosphere, GREAT staff. I highly recommend this place and I hope to come back to Brighton soon to come back here.

Definitely worth a visit for a filling, flavoursome lunch! We visited for lunch (13:00) on a sunny Saturday. Plenty of space for walk-ins. We ordered from the lunch menu. Keralan Chicken Thali (£16.95) and Hyderabadi Lamb Thali (£18.50). Food came quickly, plenty of it, and tasty. Would definitely get it again! It is a little pricey so be prepared to attend over £15 for a large lunch! We also got the Mango Lassi which was a reasonable price (£3.95). Taste wise it was nothing special but a good enough lassi!

Dhal was delicious, aubergine bhaji was delightful, mushroom Manchurian not so good. Would still recommend takeaway option, very quick friendly service

👍👍 As an Italian when I go in this place I feel like home. Food is excellent, on time, all the crew is nice and always takings care of the people at each table. I did really enjoy the time and the food at the VIP in Brighton. Looking forward to go again! 😊
