It can't compare to Wat Prathat Hariphunchai nearby, but still worth a visit. I love the ancient Chedi in the Hariphunchai style with the standing Buddha's along it's sides. The Assembly Hall is the key building on this site and is open. Some nice murals inside depicting Buddha stories. A couple of small water features on the right side as you enter the site.

The temple Chamthewi was truly incredible! The energy there was so powerful and pure, and I felt a deep connection with Queen Chamthewi. It was an unforgettable experience that left me feeling spiritually uplifted. Highly recommended! πŸ™βœ¨

The premises was clean and very peaceful. This Temple was established by Queen Jamdevi, the first Queen of the Kingdom of Haripunchai. The pagoda is unique as it is a square structure, which was built by King Athitayarat of the Haripunchai Kingdom.

Wat Jamdevi Temple , was established by Queen Jamdevi, the first Queen Regnant of Kingdom of Haripunchai, is located on the Lamphun-San Pa Tong Road and built in the Lawo (Lopburi) style. The Chedi is a square structure similar to Buddhagaya in India. The chedi was built by King Athitayarat of the Haripunchai Kingdom to commemorate his victory over the Khmer halfway the 12th century. The temple has Kruba Sriwichai's ashes keep here for pray and chanting. The temple was clean and full of doves and dogs, a bit peaceful temple for tourists.

Wat Chamadewi in Lamphun, also called Wat Ku Kut, with Mahabol Chedi and Ratana Chedi, one of the last examples of Mon Dvaravati architecture. The temple was founded around 1150 when Lamphun was the capital of the Mon Dvaravati Kingdom of Hariphunchai. A local legend says, the temple was founded earlier in the days of Queen Chama Thewi, founder of Lamphun in the early 9th century. Mahabol Chedi was built by King Athitayarat of the Hariphunchai Kingdom to commemorate his victory over the Khmer in the 12th century. The current structure is from 1218, when it was rebuilt by King Saphsit after an earthquake. Standing on a square base are five square tiers. Each side of each tier contains three niches enshrining a standing image of the Buddha in Abhaya mudra pose, with the right hand raised. Next to the viharn stands another smaller stupa named Ratana chedi (β€œgem chedi”) from the early 13th century.

This wat has two extraordinary chedis on the grounds. They are extremely rare examples of architecture from the Haripunchai kingdom, with exceptional stucco art in its niches. The Standing Buddhas are masterpieces of Mon-style art.
